Mere's Diary
Hi Folks,
I started Exante almost three weeks ago and found this site a day or two after starting. I have been reading and posting every day since. Some of your stories are so inspirational and some are really funny. I am getting a lot of pleasure from feeling I am part of a thriving and hopefully thinning community.

I have been watching my weight for most of my adult life. I started dieting after my daughter was born. At that time I shot up from 7st 13lbs to about 16st. I decided that after she was born I would get the weight off. I wore maternity clothes for the first 6 months of her life as I would not go out and buy bigger clothes. On my daughter's first birthday I weighed in at 8st 2lbs and was back in size 10s.

That was all a long time ago, she is now 38. Since then my weight has gone up and down like a yoyo and I have been on just about every diet under the sun except a VLCD. They all work for a while but the weight comes back with a little bit extra until on 1st January this year I was horrified to discover I had gone up to 11st 7lbs the heaviest I have been since my daughter's birth.

I was a teacher of the Deaf and retired last year. Started going to the gym but also started going out for far too many lunches with friends.

I found Exante as I was surfing the net and then this site. What a God send. With all the support on this site I am sure I will reach my target of 9st in time for my dream holiday to Canada at the end of May. I am only 5ft 2ins so 9st was my goal weight at Weight Watchers. I am ashamed to admit I am a Gold member. I lose weight very slowly so this diary will probably be very boring. But thank you to anyone who takes the time to read it.

My moto is if you can believe it you can achieve it. So here is to all you believers out there. Good luck with your weight loss journeys.

Hi Mere! :)

So pleased you have made a diary for us all to follow, I look forward to watching your progress.

Im sure you will reach target for your holiday to Canada, You are such a supportive member of the forum and a foccussed inspirational one. Very best of luck xx

Hi Mere!! Please don't ever think what you have to say is boring, the struggles and ins and outs of daily life on this diet are the reason we're all here- to share, to listen, to support and hopefully learn a bit!!

Best if luck with it, it's hard work but certainly yields results!!

Thanks for that. :D I read everyone's diaries (took the whole afternoon - joys of retirement!) before I wrote anything. Quite nerve wracking as I am so much older than everyone on here. Still I suppose the journey to a weight and size you are happy with is the same for everyone. Thanks for the support.:)

I can't thank you all enough for the fabulous support on this site. :)

Hi Mere, really glad you started a diary, it's nice to have somewhere to burble on about anything and track how you are feeling and your success. It's never boring to read a diary. You are so supportive it's nice you have somewhere for others to support you too. You may feel like your loss is slow but time passes anyway, you're thinner today than yesterday :) good luck.

Yay for you getting a diary! Looking forward to reading your journey! The weightloss on exante seems very unpredictable so even though your used to losing weight slowly, you might find it faster on a VLCD!

Really excited for you, Im sure you will be in the 10's come Wednesday! What a feeling that will be xx

Welcome on board hun!!! Glad that you started a diary. Good luck, you will be there in no time :)

Yay! Go Mere! Go Mere! :party0049:

Age isn't important, we're all in the same boat and want to shift these pounds, as it happens I really like that we've got such a mixed bunch! We've all had different experiences and can give some pretty good advice because of it. I love knowing that there's a little support group I can natter with and not feel like my weight, shape, size is a negative talking point (if that makes sense lol) xx

I agree totally with you. I am finding it so easy to stick to this diet because of all the advice and support. I think size is the least important thing about a person, their personality and goodness is much more important and that is what positively shines from this forum. There is such a wonderful bunch of people on this site I feel priveledged to be part of it.

Hi all,
My Exante boxes arrived this afternoon. I now have enough shakes and bars to last for 8 weeks. I have had to store them on the top of the wall cupboards in the utility room there are so many! It feels good to have made the committment for another couple of months. Hubby says he can see a difference now, lets just hope the scales say the same thing tomorrow! :)

Thats a good idea buying 8 weeks worth. Im just going to get shakes and bars this time too! And maybe some porridge actually!

Do you WI on Wednesday mere ?
I hope it goes well :)

A great feeling having a big supply. You're doing great Mere, best of luck for WI tomorrow!! :D xx

Do you WI on Wednesday mere ?
Yes I WI at home naked then I get weighed at the gym too. I like being weighed by someone else then I can't lean forward or back which can alter the scales reading just a little. There used to be an advert on TV where a woman stood on one leg to weigh herself, my husband always laughed at her but I totally related to what she was doing!
