So, starting at after a wonderful break away and a super Christmas.. it's time to get back on track...

Day 1: Mon 3rd Feb

This was absolutely horrendous, I am not even kidding - it was face meltingly difficult. I managed to survive the day, I'm not sure how when I've probably dropped 3000 calories (at least) over a long period of time, dropping to around 700 was a bit of a shocker... drink water, best advice that I could give if you decide to star this diet.

Day 2: Tues 4th Feb

This was also pretty difficult as first day back in the office, trying to eat a meal at lunchtime of a tiny shake is a bit awkward but I've got through worse.

Absolutely terrible headaches during the day and the feeling of something 'missing', keeping myself occupied was difficult as the headaches stopped me concentrating on anything different other than 'wow, my head hurts and I'm very hungry'.

The saving grace today was a bottle of Coke Zero, I know it's not strictly recommended but it really helped regain some normality.

I have a terrible taste in my mouth, I think tomorrow I will probably be entering ketosis. As the evening draws to a close and I am drinking plenty of water, I feel pretty proud I have got this far. I think if I make it through tomorrow I will be good to go, I have managed to get through the same pains with Atkins - this is certainly a lot worse but I think it will be ultimately more rewarding.

Hello and welcome! :D

Get past the first few horrible days, then it really does get easier - honestly :)

I'm on day 35 of TS and feeling great :)

Yes stick with it. It usually starts to improves by day 3-4 or there abouts. You're doing the right thing with the drinking. Hope you have a better tomorrow. The weight loss is worth it all.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I will be sticking to it like glue. Feeling OK now, not sure if it's the calm before the storm!

Day 3: Weds 5th Feb

The morning was pretty horrendous, I didn't feel at all well - even a bit flu like. By lunch time I felt alot better - strange buzzy feeling but do still feel hungry, looking forward to last shake in 20 mins and some more water.

Even managed 20 mins low intensity cycling, did 10 miles/100 cals.

Nice one with the exercise (and sticking 100%)! I think I have heard of flu-like symptoms being part of ketosis, but I'm not entirely sure. Good luck!

You'll soon be feeling wonderful, once ketosis fits in you'll feel so much better - well done for sticking with it!

Day 4: Thurs 6th Feb

Wow. Today has been very, very, very difficult. I have been so hungry all day after waking up massively dehydrated (I drank probably 4l yesterday), to the point where I feel sick - I think I may have to lay off the bicycle until I'm into the swing of things a bit more.

Pleased to have made it this far, very much looking forward to my shake in an hour... and a whole lot more water. Could be I'm slightly tired and that's not helping either.

I hope the feeling good comes quick... :)

:sigh: Ketotix are knackered... they aren't pink on the re-agent strip but black... that might be why I had no reading for ketosis, some on the way tomorrow. :sigh:

This is probably the worst day :(

Get past this, and you'll start to feel good - honest :)

Don't get too wrapped up in the ketostix - if you follow TS, you WILL be in ketosis after the first 4-5 days.

Thanks :) I feel better now! I think maybe the exercise coupled with this massive drop in calories as I am fairly 'meaty', not just fat - although plenty of that too. Might have been a bit too much.

I want to see ketosis to believe it's happening, sounds pretty sad... but I'm getting worried something is going wrong. Did a sneaky quick check on scales and down over 5kg at the moment, probably water and waste.. but it's nice to see a drop like that!

They do say not to over do the exercise in the first 2 weeks so best if you take it a little bit easier for a while. Don't worry about the ketostix. If you stick to the plan it will come.

Day 5: Fri 7th Feb

Today started with the same 'sicky' feeling as yesterday ended with. Lunch time things picked up, I felt a lot better and at present I feel pretty good. More water, shake in a bit and some dr pepper zero later - #yolo :D

Confident tomorrow will be even better.

Day 6: Sat 8th February

Terrible start to the day for weather and travel reasons, ended up with me pushing the car out of a lake on the road... all before my shake!

My ketostix have arrived but no desire to do it, I know this is working. Also my flavoured coffee and exante water flavouring stuff has arrived, the raspberry is very, very good - nice change from just plain water.

Feel good so far, nice relaxing remainder of the day - today should be a breeze.

Sneeky scale check shows over another kg down since yesterday, the meaty mass behind the flab might be speeding up a loss a bit - but also be the reasoning I feel so terrible at certain points of the day because of the calorific deficit.

Hi and welcome. Sounds like you had a nightmare this morning. Hope the rest of your day went well.

I managed to be good all day, very pleased - that would normally be an excuse for chocolate or something bad!

Sun 9th Feb:

Went shopping somewhere where they have an on-site cafe... the smell of bacon and sausages almost caving me in, managed to get thru' it... Coke Zero saved the day!

Looking forward to my next shake very soon, really loving the exante water powder stuff - really takes the edge off the cravings, for me at least.

Feel lighter, look a bit slimmer - appears to be working.

The dreaded smell of bacon, well done on resisting.

It will be working for sure.
