Hey everyone!! New around here so forgive me if I'm doing stuff backwards!!
Have to shift a good 3-4 stone, iv two beautiful babies, the youngest is 9 months. Time to shift the pounds so decided to give exante diet a go!
I have zero will power... Zilch... Nada. So need to see results quick if I'm to stay motivated to stick with anything. Trying to total solution, started today. I have to say... It's not as bad as I expected. I thought I would be absolutely starving and like a demon but iv surprised myself! I got the 2 week starter pack. Had a banana shake for breakfast, a toffee nut bar for lunch (both very pleasant overall) and tried a veg soup for dinner. But... Yuk. Couldn't stomach more than 4/5 teaspoons. I think it's the smell and the texture more so than the taste. I'm wondering if anyone else feels the same way in relation to the soups and if you have any advice? Less water, more water etc etc? I added chilli and pepper to try and spruce it up but nope... Couldn't hack it.
Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated! Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Welcome and well done Cici! I have my soups watery and drink them like cuppa soup. Mushroom one is nice IMO :) have a good week

Thanks Lux!! I was thinking extra water could do the trick alright, just hope my head doesn't get in the way of giving it another try!! Here's hoping tomorrow goes well! Have a feeling it's gna be a lot tougher than today!
How long have you been doing exante?

Day 2 - woke up hungry which is something I'm not used to. Had a big bottle of water and a smoke. Now having some gum and what do ya know... Hunger gone! Water really is my friend!! Totm is not helping my energy levels though, no more than 2 very early rushing kids!! Am hoping work will mellow me out! Strawberry shake for breakie I think!
Hope everyone has a great day!!

Welcome Cici88...you are doing well to get to day 2...the first week is the hardest and your energy levels will be down as it takes the body about a week or two to adjust to the diet.

Keep up the good work:)

Hi! Water is amazing isn't it, fills you right up. I also found a hot bovril drink or bouillon drink helped me massively in the evenings when I wanted something savoury. It's got me through a few tough moments!

I'm only on the shakes at the moment, waiting for my soups to arrive, but I never have them plain though. I add all sorts to them, from fresh mint to the strawberry one, to fresh ginger in the vanilla one, and cinnamon and nutmeg in the banana ones. All whizzed by with plenty of ice. Makes them really tasty. I guess I'm be adding a good dose of fresh garlic, fresh herbs, salt, pepper and spices to the soups.

I tend to whizz up loads of garlic, ginger, chilli, lemongrass - put into ice cube trays and top up with water and freeze for my other half's lunches (instant noodles, chopped veg, frozen home made stock cube, chilli cube and some soy sauce et violla - DIY pot noodle with loads of variation). I reckon I'll be using those in the soups and meals when they eventually arrive.

Keep going, you're doing great! :)

I have to say...so far so good! I had a choc and orange bar around 11 and oh my sweet mother of ***** it was divine!!! And one think I am not is a orange flavoured chocolate kind of girl. It was gorgeous! And fills you up something else!! :) Had a strawberry shake there at 2, I added a bit extra water to it as found the banana one lovely but a bit floury and have to say it was really pleasant! Going to try the porridge for my last pack this evening so hoping I can stomach that.
I started yesterday and I know its stupid but decided to step on the scales while in my dads house today... it says I'm down 4lbs. That cant be right surely?
I told dad his scales is broken so he's getting a new one as a gift from me!! My heart though! Skipped a beat to say the least but going to fob it off as an error and I'll refrain from weighing in until Thursday next. (please be true please be true please be TRUE!!!) lol!

Great tips there for the shakes to jazz them up... I love nutmeg so definitely give that a go over the weekend! The soups are just not going to happen I don't think. I will take a break from them for a while at least because I actually just couldn't swallow the veg one. Next time I think a heck of a lot more water and I'll see if I can take it!

What do you all think of the meals? Pastas/Shepherds Pie etc? I am considering buying some different things to try outside of the 2 week pack I have and I'm a bit iffy about the meals...

Have to say... LOVE THIS SITE!!!! :bighug:

I...am... Starving!!! Gta wait til the kids go to bed at 8 to have my last pack though! baths and bed time stories are far more important. Another bottle of water here I come... First time iv felt this hungry in a very long time! Strange but it's actually a good feeling!! Lol!

Hi Cici, hope the rest of the evening went well. Those feelings of hunger will pop up from time to time but will pass. In the meantime drink plenty of water, it does help x

Well today and last night went ok! Had Thai chicken soup last night and was quite nice! Had shake bar and porridge today and was surprised at how yummy the porridge was! Definitely have more of that!! :)
Had a glass of coke zero today as well, have any of you found that makes any diff to your weight loss? I bought a new scales today and turns out I actually have lost 6lbs after 3 days! Am in shock!!!! So happy!
How are you finding it lux? I had to get the shopping in today for the house, that didn't help the hunger pangs. Also finding making things for the toddler makes me hungry! He was having fish fingers in my mams today and I would have given anything to take a nibble of one! (I wouldn't be one for fish fingers at all!) but I refrained and have done 3 days 100% so am very proud of myself!!

Well done, that's amazing. I'm finding it hard to do a full day TS. Today it was milk and sugar in 2 cups of tea. As soon as I do one full day I know I'll be able to do more. Pay day on Monday so then I can order some soups and bars :)

I am terrible for diet coke and beer/wine and lattes... But have found I'm quite enjoying black coffees(something iv never drank before in my life!) what are you having at the moment to eat? I'm going to try 3 diff things tomorrow and see what I like and then order again on wed/Thursday to get me through the next 2 weeks and then I'm going to consider moving away from TS depending on weight loss.
Its tough going isn't it??

Hi Cici and welcome. :welcome: Well done so far. Exante really does work when you stick to it!

Well done Cici, thats a brilliant loss so far. Feel for you cos it must be hard to resist having a taste when you have to make food for others .

I have a couple of cans coke zero a day & they haven't impacted on my loss at all so you are ok there x

The flavoured Beanie coffees are nice. You can get them from Sainsbury's & there are about 4 different flavours so worth trying those for a change x

Thanks lynneonexante!!
Yeah it's hard... And of course my partner decided to make sausages and rashers and pudding etc for his lunch today and the smell had me watering at the mouth! So went for a stroll instead! Great news on the coke front, I think il have a treat of that every couple of days. Loving how good the water is making me feel at the mo, although I'm sure that won't last for too much longer!
We don't have sainsburys here in Dublin but I'm sure there will be an equivalent somewhere!
How much exercise are you all doing and what type?? My lil brother has a six pack from the age of 13 so he's putting me through my paces with "5 minutes of hell" workouts. Stomach is killing me but feel I should be doing more?

I'm not allowed to exercise at the moment because I have injured my foot & its driving me up the wall. I tend to use the treadmill & do a bit of Zumba when able too. Will start on an exercise regime in a couple of weeks but thinking about trying the exercises bike on Monday depending on how my foot is :sigh:.

Try to gradually increase your exercise & see how it goes, does make you feel better in yourself though doesn't it x

Oh no, what happened do you mind me asking? Hope it's better soon! Xx
i find my whole issue with exercise is finding the time to do it if I'm honest! With 2 kids under 3, I don't get ainute to myself once I get back from work. Maybe even walking the 20 mins up and 20 mins back to our local shop could help? The 5 minutes of hell workouts are on YouTube and they defo work but I don't know if it's enough to prevent me from just having a really saggy belly!!!!

Walking is always good & will help tone you up. Saggy skin will depend on your age. I know I will have quite a bit but then I suspect I'm quite a bit older than you :)
I remember when my 3 were little, didn't know if I was coming or going half of the time.

I was walking a lot & doing really well on the exercise front but then I went to the pictures & put on a pair of boots with a 2" heel. Was walking along at the end of the evening & felt a sudden stabbing pain on top of my foot. Ended up getting more & more painful, anyway went to GP after a few weeks & she thinks its either stress fracture or tendonitis, so off work & no driving for a couple of weeks! Going to get very bored so will have to work hard at maintaining my weight as I am having to eat food while on the anti inflammatories. Will try to come of them on Wednesday & see if I can get back to TSing then.

Worse thing is that I am going to have to wear flat shoes to my daughters graduation in a couple of weeks time so can't wear the dress that I was planning too :sigh:x
