First day - new to exante.....weigh in buddy??

Hi everyone. I'm new to this and starting exante today, in fact just this moment received the parcel! Here's hoping it goes well.

Quick bit about me, I'm 30, married, with one teen child. Ive been over weight since forever and am a serial yo yo dieter. I would love to get down to 10st, feels like a long way to go though - 5 stone to be exact.

Im crossing my fingers and praying this week goes well. Good luck to you all too!!!

I am just starting week 3 but would love to offer some moral support. I am 31, have a 4 year old son and like you I have been trying to lose weight for as long as I can remember and also want to lose about 5 stone.

Hi ladies, your both do brilliant, i find this site has really helped me and I have been on the diet just over a week.
I am part of another group that set a 20 pound challenge in 5 weeks, its really encouraging to find like minded people.

Really struggling with the chocolate shake. Had half shake and half bar but now cant bring myself to finish the 2nd half. I wizzed it up with ice but its made it worse as its doubled the amount of the stuff i now have to drink! Its just something about the consistency. Still im going to wait for it to melt and then down it, and try another flavor for dinner. Ive read a lot of posts saying that it doesnt take long before you get used to them and almost start to like them :) I really hope this is true!

How did you both find your 1st week?

Hey, well done for getting through your first day :)
It took me a few attempts to get in the swing of things and your doing brill.
For me I had to get used to the different flavours and also pick what I like. The soups I don't like, so i only do shakes, bars and porridge and I split all my packs as I like to be eating all the time (hence the state im in)
your get to know what you like, some people mix up shakes, e.g: put coffee in the vanilla, have the chocolate hot, take a look and see if anything takes your fancy

Nearly at the end of another day, started with vile porridge (sorry I know some of you like it) and ended with half a thinned down banana shake and half an orange choc bar, which is bar far the best option ive found for me so far. Im off swimming now (have saved half a bar for afterwards).
Im back at work tomorrow, havent really thought much about how im going to handle that, 'shaking my stuff' in the kitchen without people asking what im doing. Wish I could pre-make them and keep them cold.

Roll on day three :)

Your doing brilliant, soon they will ask you at work how you lost so much weight and want to join in the diet with you :)
 
I was a bit paraniod about the work thing when I started too. I made a shake at home in the morning and took it with me to work for breakfast and then had a bar at lunch time. I have just bought some of the porridge so brought that with me for breakfast today - I agree it is not especially tasty but have found it more filling than my usual breakfast shake. I am lucky that I work in an office with only one other person and she is very supportive of my weight loss efforts. I was a bit worried about having to venture to the canteen to microwave the porridge but I had already made it up in a bowl at my desk and to be honest, nobody showed even the slightest interest as to what I was having! I am rapidly going off the soups - the flavours are ok but there is something about the texture that I am finding increasingly difficult to stomach. I hope it is still going ok for you x
 
Today has gone quite well :) Strawberry milkshake is an absolute winner!!! Either that or im getting used to the stuff. Drank pink milkshake and ate a bar at my desk and no-one said a word. Only one person (when i was shaking the last bit up just now) asked what it was, i said meal replacement shake and he told me he thought they would good. That was it!!! Im am so pleased ive found something that tastes normal...and nice...I do water then down though.

How is everybody elses day going??

I have made my shakes up as normal with ice cold water from the fridge and put them in a flask and had them for lunch, they were fine. Couldn't tell any difference. Just shook the flask before pouring. Good luck with the diet. I'm going to split my packs today, haven't tried that yet. I love this site, lots of ideas and inspiration. I'm sure I'd have given up by now if it wasn't for MiniMins. X
 
Hello I'm only on day two today and it's getting better :) I only have the shakes as I can't stand the soups or bars.

by the way I thought you had to consume the products within twenty minutes of making them as the minerals and vitamins deplete x
 
Hi everyone. Day 4 nearly under my belt. Today is the first time i have felt hungry almost all day, its a bit distracting. Im worried that this means im not in ketosis yet :( Tried the chocolate shake again today, its ok now but i dont enjoy it. Im quite tired this evening, and have had a couple of headaches the last 24 hours, but nothing a few tablets didnt fix. Bouillion is fast becoming my new friend....for a savory hit at the end of the day. Im still going..... it seems to get a bit easier everyday, fingers crossed the hunger doesnt go on too long.

Kay - Fantastic weight loss!!! I think your right about pre-making the shakes, im sure i read it somewhere?? Also they get really thick the longer you leave them which i dont like.

JMC - i add ice to the shakes too, it makes them so much nicer.


Anyway keep going with it, the shakes definitely get better each day..HOORAH!!!
 
Hi! Weigh day for me today and another 4.5lbs off - whoop whoop!! Hope it is still going OK for you and that you areover the hunger now!
 
Hi :) had a weird few days (good and bad). Day 4 i started to get hungry and day 5 the hunger was unbearable by the end of the day. I stopped having a cup of boullion in the evenings and on day 6 it improved, with yesterday and today being much more bearable, in fact this morning i wasnt really hungry at all. I kept starting to get a sweet metal taste in my mouth but then it would go. Today it is back in full force so please please let this mean im finally in ketosis. Ive been 100% this week. and my first weigh in was this morning with a 7lb lose. Ill be honest i was hoping for more (with Dukan I lost 9 the first week). Bit still i feel less bloated and have already lost inches from my tummy and waist. Roll on week two :)

7lb is a great loss! i get metals taste in my mouth when i am in ketosis! and that usually signals that i have bad breath too lol xx
 
I cant get rid of it, even brushing my teeth only helps for a bit. Its horrible, I know its a good sign but still....
