hi I'm new on here and just wanted to know if anyone has lost 2 stone in 5 weeks on the exante total solution diet? I desperately need to lose 2 stone before my holiday. I'm holding out for hope:)

Hi, sorry no advice here as I haven't properly started my Exante diet yet. But wow, 2 stone in 5 weeks??? I presume it can be achieved with exercise? I would like to know if others has experienced this?

I have read stories about people losing 2 stone in 6 weeks, just wanted to know if it is really doable. I am going to give it a try with exercise and see how I go.

Hello, I hope so! I started yesterday and will be going on hols on 24th Aug. That gives me 4 weeks and 4 days. I have heard that fatter someone is, the bigger the weight loss. This is something that applies to me.
I have definitely hit rock bottom regarding the horrifying and mind boggling amount I weigh, I simply cannot go on like this with out either A) being kidnaped by some Victorian style freak show, or B) spontaniously combusting due to the incredible levels of static electricity generated by my thighs rubbing together as I walk.
I went to the Dr today about having my Mirena removed (a whole different story) and she told me that I needed a HEALTH CHECK. My heart almost stopped in my barrel like chest as the realisation that I would have to step on a set of scales in approx 10 min set in. In the words of the no doubt lovely Martha Reeves and the Vandellas there was "No Where to Run To" or indeed hide.
The nurse called me through and started the arduous task. Blood pressure 135/80, waist measurement in the red - I half expected her to tie two tapes together. But the she saved the best for last. "Follow me" she said and took me out into the busy corridor where they kept the scales. I got on and I'm not proud to say that I couldn't look. She tried to hide the shock on her face - but I could see it in her eyes. She was disgusted and frankly so was I.
So here I am. At the last chance saloon. Wish me luck, its going to be a long journey.

I'm hoping to also! I get married in 9 weeks and could definitely do with losing a few stone! Plus I need to lose 3 stone to start next treatment for infertility :-/ so wish me luck. Day 1 today, so far so good. Don't feel hungry at all which is good but drinking plenty of water which is helping.

Hi

Good news for you all, I have lost 22lb in 3 weeks on Exante! But.... I do have A LOT to lose, start weight of 23st 10lb. I lost 11lb in the first week, 7lb in the second and 4lb in the third. Am now into my 4th week and not sure if I will manage 6lb this week - but if I do then it will be 2 stones in 4 weeks.

I haven't done any exercise (too hot!) and have a sedentry job. But I have stuck to it 100% and to be honest it hasn't been as difficult as I thought it would be.

So good luck to you all, let me know how you get on.

x

Wow that's really good! You should be proud, I know I would be!

How are you finding the diet itself?
X

Hi Khill29 thanks very much! I am really pleased with the loss so far and hope it continues. Every other diet I've tried I lose well initially then grind to a halt so give up. I really want to crack it this time... once and for all.

I'm finding if easy to be honest. I am very motivated at the moment and that helps. Today I had a bar at around 11.30ish, then a shake around 3ish, then shepherds pie around 7ish. Have drank around 3.5 litres of water.

Once ketosis kicks in (around day 3/4) you don't feel hungry at all. It doesn't stop me fancying things or looking at my OHs tea and thinking how nice that would taste, but I haven't been tempted to cheat at all. I really want to do it this time.

I have a good incentive too as got a holiday booked for end of September and am hoping to have lost a total of 4 stones by then. Frustratingly 3 of those are ones I've put back on since I lost them last year so covering old ground at the moment. Once I get out of the 20s I will feel like I am finally getting somewhere.

How much are you trying to lose? Have you been on the scales yet?

x

Yes it would be possible with the right diet and plenty of exercise. But that is very fast and the odds of you keeping it off in the long run are unlikely. We all want to look great when we go on a holiday but just make sure your not jepo your health by loosing that much weight that quickly. Good Luck.

Hi Sparkely.

I completely understand tried many diets myself without success but I'm really determined to do it this time for the last time! I get married in 9 weeks so hoping to lost at least 2 stone or more by then. I'm currently 13st 11 and would love to eventually get in the 9st bracket but I doubt I will get there in 9 weeks plus my dress will be miles too big! Also been trying to conceive for the past 4 years so need to lose this weight to take me to the next stage of fertility treatment.

I'm on day 2, must say been much harder today. Had a porridge for breakfast which was vile but I managed to force it down with water but come lunch time my belly was grumbling and felt a bit weak so then had a shake which seemed to ease it off. Drunk lots today and wee'd loads :)
Hoping tomorrow will be easier, I won't give in. Have to keep telling myself that the food will be there when I'm skinny! But like you still don't stop me dribbling over everything else. I'm sure it will get easier in time though. Just got to persevere.
How long you been doing this and how much do you need to lose? Xx

Hi Khill

Wow, congratulations on your fast approaching big day. Bet you can't believe it's only 9 weeks away! But... you can make a big difference in that time if you are determined.

You have a lot less than me to lose, but I think if you did exercise too it would boost your weight loss.

I've got about 10 stones to lose! I started on 1 July and have lost almost 2 stones already, so that is a good start. I am hoping to get to goal by Christmas 2014 but would be fab if I got there by next summer. I just keep telling myself that next summer will come around whether I am sticking with this or not and I would hate to be looking back thinking 'if only I'd stuck with it'. I would rather be thinking 'I can't believe that this time last year I was over 20 stones!'.

I like the porridge! Well, I have only tried the apple and cinnamon one, but I think it's nice! Have you tried the new meals... shepherds pie, spag bol and chilli? They are really good and filling too. The hunger will go soon... I never thought I would hear myself say that but it is true. I don't feel at all hungry and have to remember to have my meals.

I am supposed to be taking a break next week and adding in 200 cals of protein a day but I would rather just stick with what I am doing as don't want to slow down the weight loss.

I lost 11 stones with WW about 20 years ago and kept it off for several years then gradually gained it back. I have been back to WW a zillion times, plus SW, and always manage to lose a couple of stones but then it slows right down and I get disheartened and pile the weight back on. I gain really easily so know that once I have got to goal this time it will be a lifelong challenge to keep my weight down.

I'm excited at the prospect that I really am going to achieve it this time and can't wait to be more comfortable and feel fitter and healthier.

The packs must be doing me some good because I have had no mid afternoon slump, no migraines and my nails are growing really fast! Must be all those vitamins and minerals!

You have the most amazing goal to work towards so give it your all and you will feel great on your big day!

x

Ahh yes really flying by now! Wished I'd found out about this diet last year though but still in gonna give it a good go and do as well as I can in that space of time. After wedding honeymoon I will be straight back on it.

Ahh I'm sure you will do it, you sound very determined. I feel like have loads to lose though as I'm only 5ft 2 and it shows! The amount of times I have done WW..well I have lose count! And SW and Dukan everything else. Recently come off herbal life but couldn't get on with it.

This is the last time though I will be a skinny person again! Been 10 years and I've had enough. If getting married and getting a baby at the end of it isn't a big enough incentive I don't know what is!

Maybe the apple and cinnamon are better then but I'm too worried to try. I just didnt like the texture was like wallpaper paste..yuk! Not sure about the 'meaty' meals and don't think I'm brave enough to try them :-/ gonna stick to shakes for now as like all the flavours.

Well done for sticking to it this far though. That's a great achievement and you have to keep thinking like you already do. Loving this forum think it really helps knowing others are in the same boat. I wish you all the luck and hope we can support each other on this journey.xx

Hi Kelly

The forum is great, it keeps me focussed and reading about other people's success keeps me motivated! Yes - we will be here for each other through the journey... through (from) thick to thin!! x

Hi Linz

Well done for starting, the first few days are the hardest.

I'm doing Exante and having 3 meal replacements a day... no other food. Only drinking water too.

My losses have been good - but I do have a lot to lose and I think the heavier you are the higher the losses initially because a lot is water... and I have a lot of body to hold water in!

I am finding that the 3 replacements are enough for me as now in ketosis I am not hungry. I worry that if I had 'proper' food it would tempt me to eat more, so sticking with the replacements for now.

Good luck with it Linz, let me know how you get on.

What is the exante diet?

Katie x

Hi Katie, Exante is a very low calorie meal replacement diet, like Lighter Life but without the counselling. There are different plans you can follow... I'm on Total Solution which replaces 3 meals a day with shakes, bars or their meals. Total calories a day 600 but gives you all the nutrients your body needs. Other plans incorporate a low calorie meal too.

Well today is day 5 and I can honestly say I've been 100% and lost 7lbs so far wahooo!! Don't get me wrong it's been quite hard, struggled the last 2 days with rumbling belly and just wanting to eat but resisted.
My inlaws have just moved house and getting takeaways the last couple of nights. They have smelt sooooo good but I didnt give in. Feeling quite proud. :)
