hi all
Going to have a go at this food diary malarkey!! Just a bit of an introduction first so bear with me!!
I'm 48 and work part time as a medical receptionist in a very busy city hospital outpatient department. Although my role is administrative, I do a lot of walking and lifting (medical notes etc) in my job, so it can get very physical at times ( blesssed notes and the bags we shufty them about in!!)
I live with my 85 year old mother who's diabetic with failing eyesight (she has macular degeneration and cataracts in both eyes wet amd in left eye and dry amd in right, they treated her as far as possible but don't want to touch the cataracts as it will set it off again (mac degeneration). I'm also starting a psychology degree with the open university this week!!)
I've been back on sw since 14th September (my third time on sw) and doing ok so far, 6lbs off in my first week (yippee!!) but only 1.76lbs off last week, still it's a loss not a gain!! I do try and plan as much as...

hi everyone,

Well, it's that time of year again, where I have another stab at losing weight! As the title states, I have 6 stone to lose.

Have tried every diet / eating plan under the sun but have always had the greatest success with slimming world.

I'm 36 years old, I have a 15 year old son, a 14 year old daughter and a 4 month old son.

I normally used to go to slimming world classes, but find it hard at the moment with the baby.

I'm hoping to reach my target in a year so weightloss would need to be an average of 7lbs a month.

Today's food:

B: Bacon Roll.
L: chicken drumsticks, skin removed, salad with egg and laughing cow light triangles, walkers baked crisps (5 syns).
D: noodles with chicken onions and mushrooms

I wrote a massive spiel about myself in the general introduction thread so I won't do that again.

Basically my life in weight goes something like: fat kid - skinny teenager - curvy in my early twenties - fat in my late twenties - DID CAMBRIDGE - thin for 30 seconds - even fatter now.

So I'm back on Cambridge to try and fix ... not just my body but my attitude to food. The reason I came back to it is because (even though I messed it up immediately) it really worked for me.

I have to say, I'm finding the adjustments to the plan since the last time I was on it make it a lot easier to stick to. I mean, I did stick to it the first time I did it (never cheated, nothing, god knows where I found the willpower) but like ... the first two weeks you could only have shakes, soups and porridge, and in later weeks only one bar a day, and there wasn't the variety of products.

So it's a lot easier now, but I'm not losing quite as fast (I guess because it's now 600 cal a day, rather than 450)....

Hello everyone. This looks like a really nice, supportive community. And, yikes, I feel I need that

I'm new here, and I've just re-started the Cambridge Weight Plan - been on it for a week now, but I forgot how much people judge you if they see you dieting. The amount of people who'll tell you it's not healthy, you'll never keep the weight off, why are you doing that etc etc etc is *unbelievably* depressing.

So I really wanted to find somewhere I could talk about this and not be shamed for it. It feels like this massive social lose/lose situation whereby everyone treats you badly if you're fat AND they treat you badly if you try to do something about it.

Eek, I sound really angry, haha. I didn't realise I was so upset until I wrote it out.

Anyway, the history here is that I was kinda fat as a child, but really incredibly skinny as a teenager, and looking back with the knowledge I have now as a grown up (I'm 30-something), probably because I had an eating disorder. I just...

I have decided to make a daily post on minimins to keep myself accountable.
I am starting CWP tomorrow. I’m 5 foot 6 - 11stone 12 pounds and have a bmi if 26.5. Not huge I know but I need to take a break from eating to analyse my emotional relationship with food.
I eat when I’m stressed , fed up, to relax... u get me!!

I have a 22 month toddler who is extremely challenging and have wasted so much stress and time feeling guilty about my eating habits.

I want to lose weight, challenge my behaviour and NOT turn to food to deal with whatever mood I’m in. The only way I can do this is to the food out of the equation and be left with my raw emotions. I’m really nervous.

I’ve been a binge eater since I was a teen. I’m now in my mid thirties with 2 kids and I’ve just had enough. Nothing has helped previously. Not CBT, not anti- depressants and not self help books.

My weight loss goal is to be 9 stone but to be honest it’s more about resolving my issues with food so I can have my mind...

I've decided to start a challenge that I feel I'll be able complete. its to have a loss of at least 1lb per week for the rest of 2017. I get weighed on a Friday, there's 21 Fridays left in 2017 so that means I'll be at least 21lbs lighter when 2018 starts. Obviously I'd love to be even closer to goal than 21lbs, but I feel 1lb per week is realistic as we all have bad weeks, holidays, totm, nights out etc.

If anyone wants to join in that would be great.
If I could say something positive that has come out of this mini life crisis is that I've stopped drinking.
I'm Susie and would love to join you here for what I hope is my successful "once and for all weight loss to goal" plan!

A bit about me - I used to be active when I was a kid, but oceans of wine at University and desk jobs and no exercise for the 20 odd years since then have seen the weight creep up - and up - and UP! I finally said enough a couple of years ago and tried SW, WW, Slim and Save and Atkins - the latter being most successful, especially with the support of some great people on that section of Minis.

But low carb is hard to do if you're not 100% committed. I work long hours and just kept failing to consistently prepare low carb food for breakfasts and lunches. The saying "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water" was completely made for me, because I'd fall off the wagon and head straight for a sausage roll or four - and, I have to admit, regular binge drinking. I really hope no one minds me putting this brutal truth here, but I've really been using it...

So I haven't exercised for nearly 4 months and I need some motivation and advise.

Who exercises at home and what programme or dvd do you follow?

I have access to an exercise bike with programmes etc, my husband uses it and although it sounds like one of the parts is about to fall off he certainly breaks a sweat on it!

I prefer following a dvd and have tried 30 day shred, never got to L3 mind!

Just wondering what's out there lately and what people are exercising too at home?

Thanks

I'm on a journey, not a wagon - join me!

Dear Weight

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for recipe ideas, I can tell you I don't have many. But what I do have are a very particular set of scales, scales I have acquired over a very long career of slimming. Scales that make me a nightmare for weight like you. If you let my waistline return now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

Ahem, and so the journey begins.

Another year bobbing around the same weight (ish, I don't actually weigh myself - I just go by my clothes and when they have started to shrink I buy new clothes in higher sizes and complain about poor clothing manufacturing standards).

Another year of reaching each special event, each holiday, each meet up with friends and family with regrets and promises to get back on the wagon.

But it's not a metaphor I'm comfortable with. Who actually...

Slimming down for health and wellbeing

In the past few years, I have put on 30 (!) pounds. Writing it down in this very public of spaces is shocking and difficult, but I suppose facing up to where I am is the first step towards getting to where I want to be.

A bit of background: I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia about 2 years ago, and the combination of excrutiating pain and constant exhaustion/ fatigue made even completing daily tasks difficult. Getting my medication sorted was an arduous process, and the medications I cycled through packed on the pounds. My exercise routine also dwindled and then went out of the window entirely, to be replaced by comfort eating and (frankly) too many G & Ts!

Now that my medication is stable and I'm starting to feel better, I'm keen to lose the weight. I want to fit into my lovely clothes again, I want to feel more confident in my own skin, and I know that losing the weight will be really beneficial for my joints and general...
