Hello everyone. This looks like a really nice, supportive community. And, yikes, I feel I need that

I'm new here, and I've just re-started the Cambridge Weight Plan - been on it for a week now, but I forgot how much people judge you if they see you dieting. The amount of people who'll tell you it's not healthy, you'll never keep the weight off, why are you doing that etc etc etc is *unbelievably* depressing.

So I really wanted to find somewhere I could talk about this and not be shamed for it. It feels like this massive social lose/lose situation whereby everyone treats you badly if you're fat AND they treat you badly if you try to do something about it.

Eek, I sound really angry, haha. I didn't realise I was so upset until I wrote it out.

Anyway, the history here is that I was kinda fat as a child, but really incredibly skinny as a teenager, and looking back with the knowledge I have now as a grown up (I'm 30-something), probably because I had an eating disorder. I just...

I'm taking on board slimming world and trying to address this totally negative mindset I have nurtured!

No offence meant to those under 50 successful dieters out there, but none of those glossy magazines for dieters ever feature anyone over 45 on the front cover...even the latest lady on the inside of one of them who, at 47 has amazingly lost over 17 stone! An inspiration indeed!!

So, my biggest challenge is managing eating out, which we do quite a lot. Having managed to deal with main courses at our favourite restaurant, I now turn to desserts which always leave me feeling deprived and that life is unfair as my husband downs his dessert having first eaten all the complimentary bread buns with lashings of butter, and the complimentary bowl of chips meant for two, along...
I've been on a journey since the beginning of the year, to lose weight and gain my confidence back. I turn 30 in January and that is my ultimate goal to be super happy with myself.
Been having a few weeks of up and down, and i know full well its because I've been cheating.

So here i am this week, fully back in the game, doing a few days SP to kick start myself in the right mind frame.
Thought i'd finally sign up, so i can reply to some of the things I've been lurking on!

I am new to the forum, too - hello !

I have started Slimming World on 07/10/2017. Before Slimming World, I did Keto and Low Carb but decided to move on to something else because my husband - who is also trying to lose weight - was struggeling with Keto/LC.

Since the start of my diet in March 2017, I have lost 2st 9lb (or 37lb) and I am aiming for at least another 5st.

I find it important to lose weight and to keep it off, so speed isn't a priority.. as long as the weight goes down!
I have started the Slimming World Plan here in Australia after going to a SW meeting in the UK and was disgusted with my weight gain over the years. Its my first time doing the new Food Optimising Plan and will be a challenge as foods here are slightly different with their brands, but hopefully by being sensible with my choices I will lose the 22 Kilos needed.

Hello everyone!

I have been on and off of these forums for a few years now but I am back and need to seriously address my weight.

For the first time I can say that my weight is affecting my health and it's scaring me. I don't know what I currently weigh as I am nervous to go on the scales but I would guess around 16 st... and at 5ft 4 that isn't good!
I am finding it hard to breathe when I walk my dog up the hills, one of my knees are feeling a bit sensitive, I suffer with an auto immune disease which can be improved by losing weight and a back problem, which to be honest being overweight isn't helping!

This is not a ploy for sympathy as I got myself to this place and have myself to blame, but how to I start to help myself as I comfort eat for my depression?

I walk my dog daily so I do get some exercise and I have stopped smoking(albeit for 3 days)
Does anyone have any advice at all, no matter how small?thanks in advance
