I was over 22 stone 2 years ago, now im 13 stone and normal weight on bmi but ... i cannot seem to get rid of my bulging saggy and unsightly stomach, i know its no where near as bad as it was before but ive lost almost all the fat on my arms, legs, face and neck. clothed i look thin and a healthy weight and the bmi scale says im a healthy weight almost right in the middle of the scale of healthy. But unclothed it just looks out of place, why have i lost weight so much in all other areas except my core torso. i just want to know will i ever be able to get rid of my problem or is it simply due to the fact i was once morbidly obese, and as such im stuck with it?

Hiya! Well done on losing so much! :) I have a very similar problem, having lost 8 stone so far in 18 months. I think it's all down to body type really - my legs are skinny, my bum's gone flat, but I've still got a big stomach, lol, though I'm still a couple of stone overweight. I'm a classic apple shape and I don't think that can be changed. But, at least we're not morbidly obese any more! I never expected perfection, I don't think you can when you lose such a lot of weight, though no doubt exercise helps, which I can't do. Loose skin to varying degrees is unavoidable with big losses, it seems, so I wouldn't worry too much about it, just be proud of the fact that you've done so well. :)

Oh ladies finally I have found ppl in the same boat as me ! I have lost 7 stone in 18 months ... Everywhere is thin apart from my stomach =( I'm still about 3 stone over weight but how I'm feeling about my stomach is really making me question losing it ... I mean how bad will it look if I lose that extra 3 stone ? ... I'll look OK with clothes but without ??!! . people compliment me all the time about my weight loss but I just can't seem to be happy about it ... Which is so annoying as I know I should be !!! Arghhhh . all I still see is fat =( x sorry for butting in but I have never had anyone to talk to that is in the same boat as me x

I have red other threads where they said that the stomach was the last place to shrink , would you ever consider surgery to help?
x

Well I was all up for that from the start until ... 2 reasons
1. I watched embarrassing fat bodies and seen the results of loose skin removal ... For me if I looked like that after it would just be something else I would be unhappy with !
2. If I managed to conceive then problems could arise ...

Hi Jodie! Well done on losing so much, it feels great, doesn't it? I know exactly what you mean about losing the rest of the weight - I've still got a couple of stone and am really hoping it goes from my stomach. because my legs have got nothing left on them!! I'm in the position of not really caring what I look like without clothes - I'm 50 and not planning on running round in a bikini or anything, lol - but if you're younger I can see you'd want to be able to wear nice skimpy clothes. Do you exercise at all? I don't so can't really advise on toning exercises, but lots of others on here would be able to. :) As for surgery, I wouldn't have it done either unless I'd got really major loose skin, which I haven't. For some of those people on Embarrassing Fat Bodies really don't have an option because it's so severe - did you see that woman last week who'd lost 17 stone?! She had a real problem. But if you want to get pregnant I would definitely avoid it - again, not an issue for me, I got so big after having my daughter, not before.

Anyway, not much help I know, but I just wanted to say well done and keep up the good work - don't give up on those last few stone, maybe look into some way of exercising your body into the shape you want it to be, and I'll just cover mine up! :) xx

Hey thanks for your encouraging words , and a very well done on your weight loss too =) I did start exercising but lost the motivation .... I must get back into the lovely habit of sweating lol .... I don't know bout bikinis...... I'll be just as happy covering up lol this site is amazing although at slimming world we have image therapy some things you just can't discuss !!!! ...
I missed last weeks embarrassing fat bodies ...was that the womwn who was on a 3 month lock down before surgery ??? I felt so sorry for those guys who lost all the weight and was left with the skin but i understand why they had it removed , i dont think i could handler it not being `perfect ` =s .
Good luck on the rest of your journey =) xx

Hiya! No it wasn't the lady who was on lockdown, it was a younger woman, 35 I think, who'd started off at 40-odd stone and lost 17 stone. She had got such problems I don't think anything but surgery would have helped, but it did still look very unsightly afterwards - you'll catch it on 4OD if you're interested. I'm terrible for watching all these programmes, it drives my husband mad, but I do find them motivational! :) xx

Oh I c , I know what you mean it does give you the incentive to never go back ... My fiancé doesn't approve of my choice of programmes either !!!! Xxx
