PPs herbalife diet

I've now been on this diet for 3 weeks, although two weekends were "off diet" due to visiting relatives.
I only have the vanilla flavour shakes which I mix with 1% fat milk. I didn't think I would like a whole month's worth of the other flavours - perhaps an odd one now and again for a change - and the vanilla would mix better with other things.
I didn't get the tea as I am not a tea drinker, & I don't like any fruit juices or squashes either.
Another thing I don't eat is fish or most seafood. (occasionally will eat scampi or prawns if eating out)

I'm calorie counting and keeping the carbs low for the remaining meal and having fruit and a mix of nuts and seeds for snacks.
As of this morning I have lost 5lb since starting with herbalife - & I'm happy with that . If I can lose steadily at the same rate then that will be fine.

I am eating salads a lot at the moment. Today is rocket, watercress & spinnach with cucumber, pepper, tomato and spring onions, and a part portion of ranch salad mix.(cabbage carrot etc) I have some cooked chicken that I will mix in with it and a bit of dressing. I have some crispbreads with it and find a bowlful of the salad mix very filling.

I had some nuts and seeds this morning and have a banana for this afternoon. Plain vanilla shakes for breakfast and lunch. Coffee with skimmed milk for drinks and a weightwatchers hot chocolate at suppertime. The nuts put the calories and fat count up, but don't have a lot of carbs. The next highest item on the fats list is the ranch salad _ & that is probably counting the dressing (which I use) & breadcrumbs (which I tend to throw away) or whatever that comes in the bag.

Today I'm adding a few strawberries from the freezer to my lunchtime vanilla shake & I have a handful of my nut & seed mix plus an apple for snacks. I need to sort out the salad for tonight - I have only tomatoes and peppers left.

I've ordered my next batch of shakes - vanilla again. Although I think I might enjoy the occasional chocolate or possibly the cappuccino flavour I don't think I would enjoy them every day, day after day.

I'm not excluding carbs - I am cutting down on them though and trying to have wholemeal bread or pasta etc. I was given a figure based on my measurements for my suggested calorie intake and am trying to keep around that.

Yesterday's salad was a mix of ranch salad mix and garden salad (lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomatoes etc) plus some feta cheese.
I have been buying the ready mixed salad bags, usually a couple of different varieties eg one with a mix of lettuce or other salad leaves and one ranch mix, and added other things such as cucumber, spring onion, peppers. Then I mix them together and split them into two or three containers for the next few meals.

Today I'm trying my breakfast shake made with chocolate flavoured milk, and taking some frozen raspberries to mix into my lunchtime shake. Salad and Cheese tonight. Snacks a pear and an apple.

Do you not get hungry with just the shakes and only salad??

Not at the moment. I am having some protein with the salads - cooked chicken, cooked pork or cheese. Also crispbreads. I am having quite a good serving of salad which I find filling.
I think the main benefit for me is that I am eating practically the same for evening meal as I always used to - with healthier choices in the carbs than I previously made. No biscuits/cakes/crisps/chocolate or sweeties at all times when I was feeling hungry or bored and having fruit or nuts instead. A shake instead of skipping breakfast and a shake instead of a shop bought sandwich - which was never filling - at lunch time.
I'm not feeling the need to be constantly nibbling at something and I have lost 5lbs so far.
I've had salads this week because that is what I have felt like having. Last week I had homemade soup a couple of times and pasta - I make a homepride oven baked pasta putting some courgettes, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, etc and using less pasta. I often add a little bit of meat to the mixture and then top it with cheese. Checking the calories and carbs etc on my fitness pal I'm still within the range that I have set - & I can always do a little more walking/exercises on the wii fit if I feel the need.

Weekend - both days vanilla shake made with chocolate flavoured milk. Not an experiment I will be trying again - didn't like it.
I spent the day with mum who has just returned home after spending some time with my sister & her family.
Saturday lunch was bacon sandwich, tea was meat (small piece for me as not my favourite thing to eat) mashed potato, broccoli and carrots. Snack - Ice lolly !!!
Sunday we had salad sandwiches and tea was gammon and new potatoes, peas and sweetcorn. Snack Nuts & Ice cream.

Today - plain vanilla shakes breakfast and lunch, with some fruit mixed in at lunchtime. The fruit is in the freezer so it will still be cold at lunchtime. It is very hot already today so salad will be nice and refreshing for tea. Nuts and a pear for snacks.

Hi PP and thanks for sharing what you are doing - well done too :)

I am thinking of trying Herbalife. My friend and hairdresser has done really well and looks lovely although she only needed to lose a fraction of what I do! She has become a distributor and we are getting together in about 3 weeks to give it a bash!

Are you using the normal vanilla flavour or the soy free formula? I am currently using exante meal replacement shakes but am interested in the herbalife plan for the support and the soy free formula. Also struggling with shakes only as I love my fruit and salads. (the soy free interests me as I have an underactive thyroid and apparently soya should be avoided)

Keep up the good work and hope you don't ind me butting in :)

I am using the normal vanilla shake.
Today - breakfast & lunch vanilla shakes - a small handful of strawberries added at lunchtime & mixed with a hand blender.
Tea is salad (rocket, watercress & spinach, peppers, cucumber, radish, tomato & a portion of asda ranch salad) with turkey, crispbreads and a muller light yogurt (frozen). Snacks - pear. & ??haven't decided yet. I had a fat free vinaigrette dressing with the salad yesterday - not keen, I will go back to the Hellmans garlic mayo I think.

Well done - sounds like a great day. I am trying to drink more water and think that is helping me feel better - soooo hot but love it! - will see how I get on this week. Also eating loads of salad and no rubbish :)

Keep up the great work xx

Vanilla shakes for breakfast & lunch, a small tub of mixed raspberries and blueberries mixed in with the lunchtime shake.
Tea will be salad mix with feta cheese.
I'm drinking coffee as normal during the day & hot chocolate at bedtime.
Tomorrow I have to decide whether to get salad for the next few days or have something different - I will wait and see how the weather is, today has been cloudy and slightly cooler than the last few days.
I should have weighed myself this morning - but will do that tomorrow.

Still very warm weather, so salads still for me. Last night I had a turkey steak oven baked with my salad. I've been having frozen yogurts too, & fruit for snacks. No weight loss this week, but I have also started measuring and have a new set of scales which measure body fat.

I need to up the exercise too.

Another week and I've lost only half a pound, but slow and steady progress is good. I have now got body fat monitoring scales and will track the downward progress of my body fat percentage (I Hope!!)
Weekend was only shakes at breakfast, salads for three meals and one Sunday lunch with my mum. Still managed to keep the calories and carbs down.
Fruit & a frozen yogurt for snacks today, two shakes - lunchtime with raspberries and blueberries. I have some turkey for tea, just need to decide what to have with it - salad is a possibility.

Progressing nicely, lost 7lb since I started with herbalife, I'm happy with that as I only want to lose about 2 1/2 stones. I'm feeling good, & not always wanting to snack on biscuits and crisps.
I've tried some of the different flavours of shakes and quite like both the cappuccino and apple & cinnamon - I wouldn't like them every day but as an occasional change.

Weekends - I only have shakes at breakfast, as I am usually eating with family at lunchtime. During the week it is easier to have the second shake for lunch because of being at work. It takes less time to sort lunch out as I measure out the milk and shake powder the night before and keep it in the fridge. I have a mixer with storage for the powder and tablets - on the recommendation of my distributor I have vitamins and fibre and herb tablets, also the tea tablets as I'm not a tea drinker.
I had a meal out at weekend - tarragon chicken with chips :). I had salads (again) for other meals.
We have had cooler weather and lots of rain for the last few days and so yesterday I didn't go and stock up on salads but had wholemeal pasta.
I have some more vanilla flavour shake ordered, also cappuccino and the toffee apple and cinnamon - I'll be having those only perhaps a couple of times of a week as a change. I tried the chocolate flavour with a spoonful of peanut butter - very nice :)

For a variety I tried making frittata last night - my cooking skills being legendary it looked more like scrambled egg than the nice pictures I found with the recipes. At least it was tasty.
I've had toffee apple and cinnamon shake for lunch and snacks today are satsumas.
Weigh-in tomorrow.

Progress is slow but steady, but I'm retraining myself to eat at regular intervals and not snack on sweets, chocolate, cakes and biscuits. I used to skip breakfast then overeat for lunch with cakes to fill me up, then when I got home felt too tired to start making a proper meal so again it was something quick and easy.
Now I have a shake for breakfast and have some fruit or a mix of nuts & seeds mid morning - not because I feel hungry but because my herbalife distributor told me not to have long gaps in between meals but to have healthy snacks then. Lunch is another shake - usually vanilla sometimes with fruit blended in, but today is toffee apple & cinnamon. Another snack mid afternoon then evening meal. I was told to have a "colourful" plate and try to go for complex carbs - like wholemeal pasta for example. I have had salads quite a lot, but that is because of the weather, I'm sure I will have more casseroles or similar cooked in my slow cooker during autumn and winter. The only bit that I find difficult is drinking the amount of water that I should have each day.
