Hi everyone, me and the OH are planning a holiday to Turkey next September to celebrate our 10 yr anniversary. It'll be our first time out of the country on holiday together so we want it to be special. We have been looking around the internet for deals and we have found quite a few good prices for flights, but we're struggling with accommodation.
We want to stay in Icmeler but we will consider Marmaris if we find something nice and cheap there. We're leaning towards going self catering too as we're not very big drinkers and we do prefer to eat out, but again if we find something cheap for half board then we'll consider that too. We just want somewhere clean and quite close to the centre. Does anyone have any cheap recommendations or websites? Xxx

I used to be a travel agent and all I will say is when booking online ensure you book through someone who is ABTA/ATOL protected. It will clearly show this on the site when you go on it if they are covered.
This gives peace of mind that you are fully covered for your holiday if the airline/website go into liquidation etc.

Since leaving the travel business I do tend to stick with the well known companies such as Thomas Cook, Thomson, First Choice and Travel Republic have been good for me in the past too but I have also been tempted by the likes of Jet2, Cosmos, Lowcostholidays etc.

Turkey standards are usually abit lower than your average in Spain/Greece. The likes of a Turkey 3 star tend to be more 2 star standards etc. If you are going self catering then this doesn't matter too much if you'll be eating out anyway as long as you have a clean and comfortable room.

Good choice on going to turkey iv been going to marmaris 17 years love the place I always stay in m kocer apartments right on the beach very clean 5 balconys huge! Sea veiw I always book with travel republic never had a problem
