Wavycat's JUDDD Diary

Okay...deep breath...

After lurking on these boards and being so inspired by the Judderers, I decided it might just be the right plan for me. I started yesterday, on an UD. Today was my first DD and it went fine. I've decided to keep a diary, as I think it'll help me stay on track. Planning on weighing every day and posting what I've eaten every day. So,

Mon 15 Oct (starting day) 229.2
Tues 16 Oct (post UD) 231.4 (+2.2) +2.2

Lunch - 1 tin of chicken broth 128
Dinner - creamy mushroom pasta 338 (very very yummy! Would have it even on an up day, but prob 3 times as much in quantity lol!)
Total - 466

I'm planning to do 3 x DD + 4 x UD and see how I get on with that. 500 cals on DDs and will try not counting on UDs. I'm going to try and eat 'normally' (whatever that is!) on UDs. I think the best plan for me is:

Mon UD
Tues DD
Wed UD
Thurs DD
Fri UD
Sat UD
Sun DD

I'm looking forward to dropping by some of the other diaries to say 'hi'!

Thanks for the welcome Hannata! I'll be dropping round some of the other diaries to say hi over the next day or two.

Wednesday up day

Mon 15 Oct (starting day).......229.2
Tues 16 Oct (post UD) ..........231.4 (+2.2) +2.2
Wed 17 Oct (post DD) ...........228.6 (-2.8) -0.6

Quite happy with that! I'm going to make Friday my official WI day, I think.

So, I've got my evening class tonight, so won't be home and having dinner until about 9.30pm. Mr Wavycat is making chilli, which is his speciality - yum! I skipped breakfast this morning - I find that if I eat breakfast, say at 8am, by 11am I'm starving again, but if I don't eat breakfast, I'm fine until lunchtime. So my food plan for today is:

12am wholemeal cheese salad salad cream sandwich :checkmark green:
4pm museli, semi skimmed milk, teaspoon sugar (am moving my 'breakfast' to the afternoon for today)
9.30pm beef chilli, rice, cheese, sour cream, nachos (counting the nachos as today's treat)

I'm trying to teach myself to eat normally on UDs, so the challenge today is to have a single portion of chilli (not going back for seconds or thirds as usual!) and just having a handfull of nachos, not demolishing the whole bag! Also trying to cut out alcohol during the week, so no wine.

Of course the good thing about JUDDD is if I trip up, it's not the end of the world.

Nice one :)

I thought I was the only oddity that liked having cereal for lunch lol

I would say try to not overeat, but if you do have a second portion it really is *not* the end of the world. I did go a bit bananas at first but my appetite has settled down, took me about 3/4 weeks. As long as you have enough down days (3 is ideal), they take care of the ups.

P.s chilli is awesome!! does mr wavycat have a brother???? Lol xxx

All Mr Wavycat's brothers acounted for, but they're not such good cooks anyway!

Okay, final food count for today as follows:

Lunch - cheese, lettuce, salad cream sandwich on wholemeal bread
4pm - museli, semi skimmed milk, teaspoon sugar
6pm - Twix
10pm - beef chilli, rice, cheese, sour cream, nachos
2 x small bottles lager
The twix and beers were unplanned, but overall not too bad. Certainly not binge-tastic.

Tomorrow's going to be a bit stressful. My dad's going to hospital for a procedure and I'm going with my mum to keep her company while she's waiting for him.

Food intake pretty much the same as Tuesday. The pasta is a BBC Good Food recipe. I was going to take a picture, but was so hungry, I forgot.

Bit of a stressful day. Thankfully it looks like my dad's hospital procedure went well. Will go and see him tomorrow. As it's an up day, I might bring him (and me) a wee cake. I had been intending to get round some of the other diaries, but was just too distracted today, with everything that was going on. Will def do it this weekend.

Friday night is curry night in our house, so looking forward to that. Will try not to eat anything else until then.

A 1lb gain after yesterday's UD. I've been quite surprised that the gains have been smaller than I expected after UDs - was expecting huge swings. I've been drinking loads of water which I think helps. Having mushroom pasta again tonight, just because I've got all the ingredients in, but I realise that means I've eaten the same dinner 3 DDs in a row. I've found a good recipe for a low calorie green prawn curry on BBC Goodfood which I'll have a go at on Tuesday. It's really important for me to eat 'real' food on DDs. I don't like ready meals and I'll just feel cheated and sorry for myself if I have them all the time.

Lunch...............................wholemeal toast and LF philadelphia 147

Planning on cooking a Thai green prawn curry tonight. The BBC Goodfood recipe says it's 149cals per portion, so will have that with 200cals worth of rice. Will add some boiled potatoes into Mr Wavycat's portion to make it a bit more filling.

Dinner was rubbish! The curry managed to be simultaneously mouth scrochingly hot, but somehow also completely bland. Was gutted as I spent about an hour making it and ended up only eating a few mouthfuls. It was actually inedible, so I had toast and low fat Philadelphia instead. Mr Wavycat ate the curry, but I put loads more coconut milk in his, which I think made it a bit better. Final food rundown for the day was:

12....................black coffee and diet coke
3pm..................chicken broth.....................128
9pm..................prawn curry.......................150
.......................toast and Philadelphia...........150
.......................crisps................................120
.......................total..................................548

On the upside I bought a new pair of boots for the winter from Evans this morning, £55 reduced from £89. Quite expensive by my standards, but they're leather and should last me for a good while.
