Vic's JUDDD diary

Hi everyone

I have lost 34lb with Cambridge over the last 12 weeks (8 weeks Sole Source, 3 weeks Sole Source + and 1 week on Step 3) and have now reached 10st 6lb. My original target was to get to between 10st 2lb - 10st 7lb so I have achieved that but now want to maintain up to and during Xmas before losing a few more pounds in the new year.

I started on Monday with a down day which was nice and easy after Cambridge. Yesterday was an up day which I celebrated with a trip to Pizza Express although I still only managed 1550 calories for the day. Now I am starting two down days. I will not be doing alternate days to begin with, as the book suggests, as I have a lot of things planned in the run up to Xmas so double down days fit better into my routine just now.

I am weighing daily with an official weigh-in each week. I am really excited about JUDDD and hope it will see me through Xmas unscathed and be a way of maintaining my weight in the long term.

Almost at the end of day three of JUDDDing. Day 1 was a down day of 499 calories and day 2 was up at 1548 calories. My up day was lower than I hoped but that's because I was being good during the day so that I could splurge at Pizza Express on the evening. Boy, did I splurge? Loved it.

Day 1 - starting weight - 10st 6.5lb
Day 2 - after down day - 10st 6.5lb
Day 3 - after up day - 10st 6.5lb

Think my scales are stuck! Was delighted to have stayed the same after my first, post-Cambridge up day though :)

Thats a great start ....welcome to our happy band!!

Thank you ladies. 480 calories on today's down day. Even had enough calories to include a salted caramel square with my bed time cuppa :) Another down day tomorrow. Feeling very happy and optimistic about JUDDD so I hope the scales are kind to me. Quite happy to stay the same or lose the odd pound here and there. Not expecting earth shattering losses, just excited to be able to enjoy food again.

:welcome2:

Congrats on your weight loss so far, I'm sure you'll be able to maintain with JUDDD, you are doing really well!

Thank you! Everyone is so friendly here. Good news in the scales this morning too...

Day 1 - starting weight - 10st 6.5lb
Day 2 - after down day - 10st 6.5lb
Day 3 - after up day - 10st 6.5lb
Day 4 - after down day - 10st 5.25lb

Down day today and very enthusiastic about it. Just contemplating whether to have yoghurt and fruit for brekkie or a Weetabix oaty bar (my new favourite thing) before doing the final day of week 3 on the couch to 5k plan.

Sounds like you're doing well so far! Salted caramel yum my mouth is watering!

I did couch to 5k too - ditched it in week 5 but carried on at my own pace and now running for 25 mins. Its ace! Good luck with week 4 :)

My goodness, I have just been referred to as a runner! I never thought the day would come! I am only doing 3 minute runs at the moment but, when you consider running for a minute almost killed me to start with, it's pretty good :)

The salted caramel squares are lush. Tesco finest in their Xmas range. Currently deciding between a mincemeat flapjack bite (from the same range) or a kitkat for tonight's bedtime treat :)

I hate running with a passion but it is a huge calorie buster! Kudos to you on 3 minutes!

My induction person got me to do 2 minutes at 8.5kmph and I had a wee vomiting incident!!!!! I was over 18 stone at the time though!!! It was a bloody miracle I managed to do it at all lol...

Lordy, that doesn't sound good! I only have the treadmill on 7.5km/h for my running stints. Figured I could build up speed later when my endurance had improved. Completed week three today, starting week four on Saturday.

Down day rounded off with a bedtime cuppa and a crispy crunch Rocky bar. Grand total of 424 calories today and 30 minutes of walking/jogging completed. Having a mini weigh-in tomorrow after four days (3 down, 1 up) on JUDDD as usual weigh-ins will be Friday or Saturday depending on my up/down pattern.

Wow you're doing amazing after coming from a VCLD! Keep up the good work :)

Another up day today started with lots of fruit and yoghurt before getting on the treadmill to do week 4, day 1 of the c25k. I can now jog for five minutes!!!

Had a lovely meal out last night but guesstimate that my whole day came to 1800-1900 calories so not too excessive at all.

Today, however, it's gin tasting and afternoon tea with my Mom then cheese and biscuits for tea, maybe some stollen and mulled wine too (hence the healthy brekkie to make up for what's to come).

Weigh-ins so far:

Day 1 - starting weight - 10st 6.5lb
Day 2 - after down day - 10st 6.5lb (sts)
Day 3 - after up day - 10st 6.5lb (sts)
Day 4 - after down day - 10st 5.25lb (-1.25lb)
Day 5 - after down day - 10st 5.75lb (-0.75lb)
Day 6 - after up day - 10st 6.25 (-0.25lb)

So a little jump up after yesterday's up day but not too bad considering I was almost up to my 2000 calories for the first time since Cambridge.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Hope you're enjoying your UD!

I tried C25K once and couldn't bear to do the 2nd day :( lol. So well done you for sticking to it x

Wow, you're doing brilliantly so far! And the stability of your weight gives me hope that I can do the same when I finally take the leap (a week today!!!!)
Hopefully JUDD is the answer to Chritmas and beyond for us both :)
