Hello everyone
thought I would try and start new thread to post weight losses etc. I know there are a lot of people out there just starting. New starters or returners like me.
I started on 7th jan, lost 12 pounds in week 1 :) But finding it harder this week. When I did it before this forum seemed much busier. Not sure if that means LL is less popular?
anyway everyone have a good Sunday!

Hi

I'm new to lighter life and started on the 3rd January. I was just below a BMI of 30 so I am doing lighter life light. I have three stone to lose but have targeted to do two stone in 12 weeks. However I'm disappointed in my loss so far. It was 4lbs on week 1 and 2lbs in week two. I can't help comparing myself with a lady in my group who is a similar weight be me and over the same period has lost 12lbs and she had a major cheat one day involving two glasses of champagne and a pizza. I have stuck to plan 100% it is so unfair. LL is too expensive to do if you do not get great results.

Keep at it SuzieSuze - we're all different and our bodies will shed weight at different paces. Yes - it IS disheartening when someone's losing it all so much faster (even while having a cheat!!) - but look at it this way... they'll regain it faster too ;) They'll take more liberties with what they do because they can 'get away with it' and maybe even physically their bodies are more ready to drop and regain.

As for cost - if I total up what I'd spend on food and any drinks per week, it would equal to a lot more than LL, so it's not a problem (especially if you can interchange with Slim & Save!)

I'm a very slow loser, but I'm expecting it and allowing my body to go at it's own pace. Any other diet would take twice as long, so I'm sticking to it. As long as it's going in the right direction - I don't mind!

Started 1st January - week 3 nearly over now! :) Unfortunately my Wi's aren't on the dot, as I started a few days earlier than I saw my LLC.

Lets be strong and see out the month! :D

I started Monday 14th of January, this is actually my 3rd time doing LL. first time I didn't get past 2 weeks, second time I didn't get past 9 days I don't think but this time it feels different. I really internally struggled the last time with wanting to it, this time when I have those desperate thoughts I can shut it down really quickly and do something else, which is really really good, so I'm pleased with that.

I deco agree with trying not to compare to others, also try not to expect, like I've found myself like saying 'right, I'll lose this much this month, that much the next etc.... And doing that means I am automatically going to be disappointed and then disheartened so I'm really trying not to!

Good luck everyone!

Week 2 weigh in - 4.5 really pleased!
Couldn't stay for class and there's only a weigh in next week so will have keep checking on here for words of wisdom!

Well done in your loss - keep going !

Well done kaymarie - brilliant!

Well done on your loss - fab x

Hi all
Today is my first day on LL, so far so good - of course it's only half 5 so who knows how I'll feel tomorrow!
I got married, moved across the country 200 miles from home, started a new job, and moved house 3 times - all in the space of 5 months. And I put on over 4 stone!
I'm just hoping to have lost some weight by next week. Then that will be the first hurdle over and done with. If lose anything near what Kathryn or Kaymarie have lost (fantastic work ladies!) then I'll be over the moon :)

Hi Walshie! Sorry you have had a tough few months - don't worry, I've been in a similar position, gained nearly a stone per month :( It happens. I hope you are less stressed now and life has settled down! Sending you good thoughts and strength - this diet is a tough one, but it gets great results! :grouphugg:

Thanks Minerva, I have to say the only thing I've noticed is that I am really wanting some fresh veg, in particular baby plum tomatoes! Don't feel hungry, but more as a palette cleanser. Fizzy water is ok, but not quite cutting it. Can only be a good thing I suppose. Now I just need to resist tomatoes for the next 14 weeks.....
Finding breakfast and lunch time totally fine. I normally have porridge for brekkie anyways so minimal change there.
Evening is harder, but have just started knitting to keep my mind occupied when I find myself idle. I'm aiming to get to two scarves by the end of foundation.......!

Knitting is great, I'm a fan of crotchet and cross-stitch myself! I keep myself occupied by video games and watching lots of great series on Netflix - sure passes the time. :)
Evenings are always harder and the first week is the hardest in that respect - especially when the mind still expects something more than a dehydrated packet meal! Come Day 8, and it'll feel less miserable.

x

Well done walshie on nearly completing 2 days. It does get easier although the evenings are hard. I tend to have a bath and go to bed early. Actually I'm just wondering if 630 is too early to go to bed today??!! I'm soooo cold!

I missed my weight in last week as I was away in Paris with work. I wish I could report I was good all week but I crumpled two nights when we had group meals out. However I was very proud of myself as our flight out was delayed all day (until it was postponed to the following morning) and while my colleagues eat burgers and chips I ordered a mug of hot water to mix up my soup! (I will not mention I did have a Bacardi and diet coke or two)

Week 3 3.5 lb down. I know I shouldn't be disappointed but ...... Just so desperate to finish this journey but only still at the beginning!

Well done on the 3 3.5 lb loss! :D
Little by little it will add up. I know how you're feeling, I'm thinking -- ohh I have another 5-6 months of this.. but, the more you dwell on that thought, the more depressing it will become. Take it one day at a time, the end will soon be nearer.

Maybe make mini-goals, take it 7lbs at a time. So you can focus on small amounts.. before you know it, it'll be the whole lot gone! :D

Think of how fab you'l feel in the summer too! x

Well done on your loss it is a fab result ! I only did 1 lb last week but I then did another 3lbs in 5 days. !! It will all balance out !

Thanks girls! I think the problem is I keep looking at my previous weight loss card and comparing. I'm going to try and relax and be more positive and as Minerva says set mini goals! Xx
