Things that made my first week fly in...

I know I'm more than likely repeating others' advice but I'm just trying to help so here goes...
1) WATER -The water stick has beaten everyone to death I know but it is bloody magic! Think of it as a gift from the Diet Dumbledore.

2) Coffee -obviously only if you like coffee but adding a tsp of coffee and a sweetener to the vanilla shakes -blended with ice -made it feel like i was enjoying an iced latte - YAY!

3) See above with chocolate shake and make it an iced mocha ;)

4) Making the 'hot chocolate' actually palatable - blend the shake with a little cold water until its a paste and then top up in my big mug with boiling water -add a sweetener if you like. Its actually very very comforting - I sit down on front of the tv or with a book and really enjoy it - I actually look forward to it now!

5) Add a spoonful of coffee to make a hot mocha. Same with the vanilla -actually better with the vanilla to make a lovely creamy latte -great for waking me up and filling me up in the morning.

6) I'm not a big fan of the strawberry shakes so just blend them with ice and a sweetener and woopwoop! decent strawberry milkshake.

7) with the 'lattes' (it sounds more exciting to call them that lol) I have actually split the sachet to make two from it -one in the morning and one to cover that mid-morning slump. It really helps me to think I've have myself a little treat to get me through the day.

**8)(added almost 5 years after original post :D) I thought I'd add here the peppermint tea tip, to save people scrolling through all the comments. Basically you add peppermint tea instead of boiling water to the hot chocolate method to make a mint-choc shake. It is really delicious, especially when you're struggling. Iwould also have made the peppermint tea before bed and let it cool over night, then blended it with ice to make a mint-choc shake. I remember all too clearly the need for variety of flavour on tough days.**

I hope I've helped someone stick at least another day on their diet.

GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!!!!1:D:D:D

lol done all of the above apart from the hot choc method!

I mixed mine completely with cold water, then heated it in a pan! made me feel like i was cooking something. hehe

ahhhh - another cunning trick to defy the Lipotrim beast - I like it! lol - sorry I couldn't be of more use to ya.

what can i say...... great minds think alike!

I also put coffee in the vanilla shake and ice but had't thought of trying it hot - will do in the morning! Thanks :)

Hiya
I am now confused can you advice me please?
I was told no sweeteners to be added as they are actually made from sugar in some form so your body lives of it!
Is this right or wrong or am I thinking of a different sweetener?

I would love the shakes if could just add a sweetener or two as I only like the chicken soup so have that three times a day and I am bored to death already on day 4!

Lol

yeah I'm pretty sure you can have the tablet sweeteners, its the spoonable kind you can't have because they add sugar to it to make it spoonable. I've been using candarel and sweetex, but maybe check with your pharmacy to see if there's any particular sweetner you can't use.

I'm sure you are sooo bored on the soup -after 4 days! Even with the shakes its a battle of wills just to keep going so I applaud your willpower lol. I hope you can now add a sweetener and the shakes, to break the monotony.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Im loving the advice blackrose! I have tried most of them except the coffee. I'm not a fan of coffee but im thinking that if i add just a little bit then it might just be a new taste for a change?! I totally agree with the hot chocolate, I actually really enjoy sitting down at night in front of the tv with my hot chocolate! In fact I will be doing just that shortly lol. Splitting a sachet up into 2 during the day works really well like you say...we are all becoming very cunning haha.
Love Tracy xx

Just going back to things that made the week fly......

PEPPERMINT TEA!!!

Never really drank it before and now I LOVE the stuff! It saves me loading up with caffeine until bed time. Its also really refreshing and HOT!!! Great when u lose the feeling in ur hands because they are sooooooooo cold!

Does it actually taste nice peppermint tea? i might try it because i thought i would try to avoid caffeine too for a while
xx

Yup! I'm always disappointed with herbal teas cos they smell soooo good but when u drink them they taste nothing like wat the promise!!! When I make it I leave the teabag in so it gets good and strong!! I saw a really good tip on one thread which I will try later.... Make peppermint and let it go cold then use it instead of water for making up choc shake. Mmmmmm mint choc sounds good!!

Esp since I can't drink any of the shakes hot, even when I add coffee I still think they're rotten. But can't complain cos I like them all cold.

Are we allowed peppermint tea on lipotrim?

We're allowed any 'leaf' tea. No berries, fruit or flowers.
From my very lenghly search in my local shops the ONLY other [aside from black] leaf tea I've found is peppermint. If anybody knows of any other please let me know! As any extra flavours are very welcome:)

MMMM the mint choc sounds great im going to try that definitely, let me know how it is yuna x

What cunning mind came up with that mint choc shake one? I am impressed! I'm gonna try that out today quicksmart! lol. I Maybe that willmake the rest of my second week fly! WOOPWOOP! isn't it amazing how people can find the variety within our very limited diet? Great stuff!!!

I know isnt the mint choc a fantastic idea?! Im actually excited to go and buy some peppermint tea lol. A new idea like that for next week would be great too. we wont want to ever eat again!! Ok maybe we will xx

lol -maybe?! I made my way through a book and a half trying to keep my mind of a kebab last night! I'd like to see the shake that can overcome that! lol

:wave_cry: Hi All,

I'm on Day1 of Lipotrim, have tried the chocolate and strawberry shakes and chicken soup

I thought I'd go looking for some moral support on the net and here you all are!

I'm ready to add a little coffee here, a sweetener there and maybe, just maybe I'll stick this thing out...you are all doing so well I think I'll have to stick with it or i'll have to hang my head in shame and sit in the tubby corner for the rest of my life.

The water is a problem already....I'm getting a bit worried now, I have a 3.5 hour drive to a meeting for work tomorrow...I think I need a map of toilets :sign0131: along the journey! My tomtom is good but not that good!!!

I've a long way to go, want to get 8st off but i'm determined to do it. Can't wait for my first weigh in to give me a kick start!:whoopass:

Hi Mini,

Day 2 is over! It's been a much easier day today, I had a meeting at work which dragged on forever so I didn't think about the massive amounts of water I was drinking...it broke the depression of listening to my boss repeating himself for 8 hours!

I have another long and busy day at work tomorrow so I'm sure I'll make it through the day, I'm off to Co. Donegal tomorrow where toilet stops are few and far between so it could be interesting!

:character00182:

Wish me luck
