So as you've gathered I'm back!!!
I have been on and off slimming world and this site so many times

Last time I wanted to lose weight for my 30th masquerade ball! Well that has not happened (have not put on tho)

So what's different this time??
I went to the Dr's in Easter holidays and he has given me metformin (for PCOS) and orlistat!
I have been offered them before but either couldn't afford prescription (still struggling) or didn't want to take them!

I was scared to take them because of the side effects but...
I started both on Monday so almost a week!! (Only 4+ weeks after I was given them)
It's been going well so far although I don't really know what I'm meant to eat or to steer clear from :/

I know how supportive this site is so looking forward to speaking to you all and browsing for good ideas

I'm on myfitnesspal too to try and help me and I'm following SW from home :)

Thanks in advance I know how supportive you will be

Jen x

Well done for not gaining! That's awesome! :)

There is an orlistat forum on here too that will be helpful :)

i have had it twice, don't worry if you're not getting the side effects. some people think it doesn't work if you don't get the orange poops and stop taking it. One person I read said it'd stopped eating as she wasn't getting them - not the case! :) If you don't get them - that's awesome!

Welcome back lovely :)

Thanks :)
I've subscribed to Orlistat forum but it is not as lively as this one :)

I have had side effects today - think it was my fault - had a bit more than usually would :$

Jen :)

It's also a great tool to keep you on the straight and narrow ;) xxx

I need the scare factor - I have bursts of motivation that fizzle out without it :/
Hopefully the Orlistat and myfitnesspal will help me not cheat n not fall off wagon x

I understand entirely love, it's a way of having a whip cracking behind you that stops you falling off. It does get monotonous when you have to behave all the time. We're here for you lovely :) xx

Yes, as Princess says, getting the Orlistat side effects doesn't mean they're working, it means you've done something wrong, lol. My worst experience was after an unplanned (but very enjoyable) visit to Pizza Hut a couple of Christmases ago - but I knew what to expect and it was entirely on my own head! :D The Orlistat forum did used to be a lot livelier, and I think the diaries section on there is still used quite a bit, but I do always direct people towards WEMITTS if I see they have a lot to lose. :) xx

Thanks :):)
I am hoping that I get the hang of it and don't need to worry about the side effects because I choose the right foods :D
Been doing ok so far I think!
Just need to alter a couple of things x

Quick question -with Orlistat does the weight loss start quick and then slow right down?
Thanks
Jen :)

To be honest, losses on Orlistat aren't noticeably different to what you'd normally get with whatever plan you use. It doesn't help you lose much extra, maybe a little bit, but does help keep you on the straight and narrow and really think about fat content etc. :)'xx

Agreed - it has no real difference (perhaps a lb or two if that) but it is a good reason and way of keeping in the lines and not making mistakes.

TBH, all weight loss at first is big numbers. I lost 12lb in my first week - it's not unusual as you're on your best behaviour, eating all good stuff and it's largely water weight (especially if you just upped your water intake too). Sadly it tails off to smaller losses most of the time - but better off than on!

so true x x

Thanks ladies :D

Welcome back. I have just return too. Head is really focused right now. Really hope it stays that way x

Thanks
I'm doing well so far back from Wales but today is Thai restaurant day. I've seen a couple of things on the menu steamed etc

It's my 30th masquerade party a week today so I am going to stop taking tablets Wednesday so that I can eat and drink at party!
Will be straight back on them a couple of days after tho

I'm a little nervous that I will faff around and not get straight back on them!
