    SLIMFAST OCTOBER CHALLANGE

Wow, you're all doing really well! I've been off programme for four weeks and have gained 5lb, so I'd like to get rid of that by the end of the month. Mind you, I've also gained three quarters of an inch in height - how did that happen?!

    HELP NEEDED

Hi Jaks Congratulations on actually making a start - when you've got a lot to lose getting started can be the biggest obstacle! Like Fatty McBig Bum says, walking is a great start. I read somewhere that alternating fast, medium and slower walking is good for burning calories. I also love...

    Weigh in

I used to do SW and lost weight a week later - does that make sense? I mean, if I was really good this week I might stay the same but then eat like a pig the next week and lose weight, although I'd obviously put on the third week. Don't worry Rachel, we're all different!

    Banana milk shake!

I love banana! Actually, I like them all except strawberry. I wish they did coffee in a powder - yum! :eat:

    feeling very sorry for myself!

Go dancing! See if your local schools or sports centres do any kind of dancing class. It's easier to stick with something you enjoy. I also used to love Body Combat - a cross between aerobics and boxercise. You need to be fitter than I am now but all that kicking and punching is a great way of...

    100 Calorie Snacks

Sainsburys do a good selection of low-fat crisp/snack things, including toffee popcorn. I also have the Highlights chocolate dipped hoop things.

    Anyone around?

I'm here too! I've been on SF since the end of June. I've lost 1lb short of a stone, but I've had a holiday in that time. I plan to be here for a while - at the moment, SF is working for me because I don't have to think about what to eat. My biggest decision of the day is what flavour shake to...

    SLIMFAST SEPTEMBER CHALLANGE

I agree. Put it behind you and move on. You're so close to your target. We're all entitled to a little lapse now and again!

I'm glad I'm not the only one! :)

    Recipe book

I bought one recently in Sainsburys/Savacentre. It's called Classic 1000 calorie-counted recipes. It splits everything into calorie-counted chapters so you can pick things from different sections, like a 450-calorie meal, 50-calorie side dish and 100-calorie dessert. Next week I might get...

    combining "WW" AND "S/F"

The only offer my local Asda had was two tubs of shake mix for £7. Not great but I bought a couple to stock up. I'm a bit of a slut when it comes to shopping and I'll got wherever the bargains are!

    Cecelia Ahern

Actually, I think I read that one too! Is that the "imaginary friend" one?
  13. B

    Cecelia Ahern

I've steered away from Cecelia Ahern because I thought it would be same-old, same-old trashy chick-lit. (I'm not a fan of that type of book as you might guess!) However I really enjoyed A Place Called Here and I'm going to try some of her other stuff - what should I read next?

    Does anyone mix shakes?

I use a small flask for work to keep the milk fresh, then add the powder when I'm ready and really shake it up to make it frothy. I rarely drink it from a glass or cup because it doesn't seem the same! Crazy I know!

    SLIMFAST SEPTEMBER CHALLANGE

Hi all I've just discovered I've lost my holiday weight in one week - unheard of for me! As I'm so motivated, I'm setting myself a target of 5lb by the end of the month, then I'll really go for it next month. This month is going to be strange as I'll be at home for at least two weeks while...

    Hi All Newbie here

Hello dietagain and willsucceed. Welcome to the forum. I haven't looked at the US SF site. I might take a look. Mind you, every cloud has a silver lining. If the UK site hadn't been so rubbish I might never have found this place. I have cereal and skimmed milk for breakfast but I check that...

    Am dreading the scales

I have good intentions for my holiday, starting with a healthy breakfast and not drinking alcohol during the day, but I know everything will go to pot once I hit the breakfast buffet! Ladylipo is right though, don't beat yourself up. Remember you've had a good holiday and get back on track as...

Where do all you lovely ladies

I'm a bit of a tart... when it comes to shopping that is! I shop where I'm near, which might be Tesco, Sainsburys, Boots or wherever. I stocked up a bit in Superdrug this weekend, especially ready mixed shakes (I love the coffee one and SF don't do a powder). I find Boots a bit expensive unless...

    SLIMFAST AUGUST CHALLANGE

Yeah, stick with it girls. I had a 1lb gain this week, which I'm really p'ed off about. Mind you, if I'm honest, I probably deserved that!

Why do you want to lose weight?

This is a great way to keep focused on our goals. Thanks for think of it Gymfiend. I want/need to lose weight because I feel so unhealthy and I'm finding it difficult to get nice clothes. I'm hoping it'll boost my self-confidence too, but that will be a bonus!

    SLIMFAST AUGUST CHALLANGE

I just had my first weigh-in of the month last night and I've lost 3lb!!! I'm so excited! It would be good to get another 4lb off in the next two weeks but the biggest challenge is going to be keeping it off during the last week and a half of August when I'm on holiday. Good luck everyone!

    hi newbie

Hi Alymoo I found this site the same way, so thanks, Feeling Fat. I agree, the SF site is rubbish. Is anyone else trying to use the menu planner? It doesn't seem to work properly for me - some of the options are blank!

    WOW

In the nice weather we have had (once or twice in past couple of weeks!), I take my lunch to the park. I take my milk in a small flask and the powder in a little tupperware box then shake them together, which comes up nice. The blender is a good idea though, I'll try that at home.

    How's your Saturday been?

I danced at a bellydance party last night, which was great fun. Lots of good, amateur dancers. The food wasn't good, either tastewise or dietwise, but I drank Diet Coke all night so am feeling virtuous!

Sick as a pig heeeeeeeeeeeelp !!!

I agree with everyone above - if you really crave something, sometimes you just have to have it! When I used to go to Slimming World our regional manager told us "if you find you are craving chocolate, have a low-fat yoghurt." 30 faces were staring at her as if to say yeah, right! As long as...

What's your best and worst SF product?

Maybe I'm weird but I love the coffee and vanilla shakes! I'm building up the courage to try the strawberry and banana ones because I imagine they'll taste artificial. The tomato soup is fab! I haven't been able to get the other one but I'm still looking. I also tried the muesli and yoghurt...

    SLIMFAST NEWBIES - Introductions

Room for a little one? Or more realistically a not-so-little one! I've just registered tonight, having been on SlimFast for two weeks. I've lost half a stone, so I'm feeling very pleased with myself!
