    cant stop weighing

I weighed every morning for the five months I dieted and found it really useful. The key is not to let the result dictate your mood for the day ! If mine said I hadn't lost anything then I just was more excited about the next day as that meant it was much more likely I would then. M.

Really common Nicki. I can remember the first time I ate after the diet and panicking to get home to get on the scales to see how bad the damage was. And I think with any quick loss diet (and any other diet) you are so proud and everyone is saying how well you have done that you don't want...

    To CD-Returners and successful maintainers.

For me the Cambridge maintenance was a good way of putting food back into your life gently after such a long time away from it, I was freaked out and scared of food when I went back to it after 5 months and thought if I ate a chicken breast I would regain a few stone and was obsessive. But the...

    What's going on?

Hiya I had a couple of weeks in a row when I reduced when the scales froze but my clothes started to fall off me. Keep doing the diet as you should and it is impossible not to trim and slim down, my only advice is not to overdo the exercise and try and keep to toning/conversational exercise...

    Help needed from American dieters

Slightly strange question but hey! I am just finishing a book on the mindset of dieting and want to be sure that I have terminology correct. Now in the Uk we obviously talk about Yo Yoing where people lose weight then regain and then lose again etc. I have done an entire chapter on it but...

I did watch it and I can see how depressing it could be if you believed that it was always about physical hunger..... For me I overate because I was psychologically hungry...I needed food as a sticky plaster for other issues in my life. I also can honestly say hand on heart that I have now...

Morning :-) The answer will be that you will be looking a lot slimmer and feeling a lot healthier with more energy! I am also thinking that you will be in a new set of clothes as your old ones won't fit... Therefore focus on the feelings of success and not just the amount the scales say...

Who are the best dieters - men or women?

I have worked 1-2-1 with loads of men and women but the common factor in success is whether people see it is as a massive positive in their life, whatever sex they are then they will reach their goals and more importantly maintain. Diets should never be about losing weight, they are merely the...

    quick question

You might be ok, if the bars are the peanut or cranberry then the carb is the same as a sachet (nearly) so you should be ok, but check this over with your CDC.

    quick question

Chat this over with your CDC as if you are in ketosis still you may be fine to continue otherwise might be worth dropping back to full SS to get back into ketosis quickly.

i saw the bloke from here who has lost loads in a mag

Real People is the magazine! They did a story on Jo and I and talked about how when I lost weight we really struggled, it isn't well known outside of Mini, CD Counsellor, DQ etc that I had a nervous breakdown after I reduced my weight, the reason being that I used to use food to cheer myself...

    Maintenance - Hair loss

Hiya Very common to lose hair after a diet as opposed to while on the diet, this is because shedding hair is a waste of energy when you are on the diet and your body plays catch up when you finish. If you are worried then pop and see your GP but most people experiencing hair loss say it is...

Addiction to certain types of food will be with us for life.

For me by restricting any food type i.e. not having bread anymore etc I would still be on a diet, hence I have whatever I fancy now and there is nothing I avoid, I just make sure it is an appropriate amount of it and within a balanced diet. If I was still avoiding any type of food then in my...

    "Friends"

At the end of the day people will always make their own decisions and opinions, I was told by loads of people that I would just put all the weight straight back on as if they knew what I would do, you are the expert of you! you are happy with what you are doing so let her problem be her problem...

Whatever anyone does then good luck with it :-) Just want to say I sole sourced on Xmas Day back in 2005 and was one of the BEST Xmas days I have ever had, I was full of energy and was doing charades in the lounge at 10pm where normally I would be drunk and overfull on the sofa snoozing by...

5 things you probably dont know about me

Ok 1. I had my nipple pierced a few weeks ago and was the most painful thing I have ever experienced! 2. I used to be in the top ranked clan in Europe playing CS and SOF2 online 3. I like watching really complicated films like Memento! 4. I would move to Florida tomorrow if I could afford to...

    Keeping it off long term

Spot on KD and MSB! It is all about moderation and finding a balance, I met someone this week who basically starves monday to friday so he can eat what he likes over a weekend, it means he is either really down in the dumps as he can't eat, or is getting such a hit from his food at the weekend...

    Keeping it off long term

I agree that being slim is 99.99% in your mind! But also you will eat less healthy food again, I don't now only eat salad and low fat food otherwise I would still be on some sort of diet, I just moderate now which means one or two chocolates and not a box full like I used to. My favourite thing...

    Keeping it off long term

Honest advice is not to see it as keeping it off! If you do then you will live in fear of putting it back on and hence focus on exactly what you don't want. For me I am now just slim and I enjoy it so much that I value staying slim. Totally down to what you want and not what you don't want...

How do you view "big" people?

I never judge anyone, I haven't the right to and also how can you know the person or their situation from seeing them. Where I get involved is with someone who is big but has decided to be slim, then more than happy to get involved and help them help themselves get slim. Ultimately if...

Gaz & Scaz - your views!

From seeing loads of clients both 1-2-1 and talking to people over the internet the best way I have found is to be flexible! Some people like the "tell it how it is" approach, while some others prefer the same message but through a softer metaphor approach. The biggest thing for me though...

    excercise but no diet??

Hiya It is only possible to lose weight if you are taking in less calories than your body needs, so exercise is fantastic but you also need to look at your food intake as well and make sure this is healthy and balanced and also restrict the calories enough to lose weight. Why not look at...
