I have some broccoli. How would you cook it?

Usually I cut up the spears and cook it in a little water and oil, a pinch of salt and a little garlic, or even a little slither of fresh root ginger. Takes hardly any time and tastes good. But how do you do it?

Have never tried mousse so really can't say. But I make a lot of protein shakes, and I use one of these: http://s3.thcdn.com/productimg/0/960/960/98/10485098-1396026973-446248.jpg That metal swirly ball makes a world of a difference. (I had a 1 litre SmartShake one that broke on first use as...

Which diet is your most reccomended?

I picked Adkins. Can only speak from my own experience so your mileage may vary. For me, protein keeps me full for longer - I don't get cravings as much, and there is less brain fog. Meat does cost more, so I make do with a protein shake for breakfast, and keep a tub of it under my desk at...

    Challenge September 2013

Hi all I am starting this thread so we can all have a chance to think about what it is that we want to challenge ourselves with for the month of September. You are your own boss on this so whether it is promising to drink 8 glasses of water a day or learn to do boxing - it's what you, and I...

    Water,Water, Water!!!

Cold water, as in from a referigerator, or with some ice thrown in, is refreshing and even my gym sells 1.5 litre bottles of water that is very, very cold. There is however conflicting information regarding thie, i.e. is cold water "bad"? I have read that from Indian Ayurvedic theories that...

    1lb a week - till 2014

If only:D Well I know for a fact the non-fat mass is not all muscle, hence I am excluding that in my target. As for "replacing" fat with muscle, it's alot easier said than done, and one doesn't just substitite the other. The "bottom line" is, (excuse the pun), waistline and hip...

    1lb a week - till 2014

Hi Arum Lily Thanks - LOL - am a bit skeptical myself but that's what the measurement shows... As for a "Fat mass calculation"- it's based on something called the "two compartment model". Fat and water "don't mix", so, what constitutes the body, is categorised into two: all things fat, and...

    Random Thoughts

I am wondering if my neigbours are aware that people aren't really appreciative of their mega hifi stereo system, and club music from the 90's, at 23.27 on a Wednesday night!

    2500..

It's so easy to vent (or whatever) and stuff our faces. I know the feeling as I have done that too. The good (well, also the bad), is that the body acts like a bank and you need to be "overdrawn" on calories to lose weight. But the bad thing is that after over eating, it charges interest and...

My life is good because... I know how to lose the weight. I have a tangible target to achieve. I have you lot to come to. I can eat right and can control my portions and how often I eat. I can do sweet-FA to my height or facial features, but heck am I gonna change the "fat"!

    Lactose intolerance

I am dairy sensitive so things can be a bit hit and miss sometimes, so for that I have for a while cut out all dairy: Milk, cream, ice cream, cakes, cheeses - hard or soft or spreads or biscuits, quite a lot of "creamy" salad sressings (read the label!), some bread spreads (good job I had cut...

    hi

Oooh... go easy on that evil, evil white bread!! Nasty stuff!! Can you bake your own? Seriously, I cut out all breads and cakes and pastas and dairy and sugar (only allowing honey and practically no sweets) and boomf I dropped about 10 pounds within 2 months with no added exercise. But then put...

What's Makes Minimins A Good Place For You To Be?

I really like how the site is clear about the use of English, and that people here have a common goal. Sadly not true! I have had the misfortune to have to dial 999 after a neighbour was burgled! The person below me... is gonna have their Personal Best in their next workout - e.g. running for the longest, highest incline, lifting the heaviest, the most star jumps ever done etc.

    body mass fat

Those fat scales uses something called "Bioelectrical Impediance". It is based on something called "Two Compartment Model". Electricity passes through water, not fat. When one of those fat scales measures a person's weight, it sends a electrical pulse through the body. How much (or little)...

I used to buy from Myprotein.com but also from Bulkpowders.com I am sensitive to dairy so to have pea, soy, brown rice, hemp protein easily availble online is well and truly a godsend. Also have a look at Protein Pow(d)er - it's a cookbook on cooking with protein powders. You get to make...
