Thanks - you're a star. Don't know why I didn't think to check there. Will have that tomorrow with my corn cakes HEX :)

Syn free (or close to) Houmous

Does anyone have a recipe for houmous? I have run out of my wraps and there are still none in my local Asda so I'm a bit desperate for lunch tomorrow. I have a can of chick peas so wondered if there was a good recipe out there. The houmous pots I used to use are 9 Syns :(

    HEXB for gluten-free

Hi, I know that BFree wraps count as a HEXB, but I was wondering about other options (my Asda always seems to sell out of the wraps). I see that there are a lot of wholemeal breads that you can have but does this mean that I can just have GF versions? I usually have either Tesco Free-from loaf...

An exciting new Healthy Extra! The ONLY wrap to count as a 'B' choice.

Being gluten free I love these wraps. I see that someone commented on the price - believe me, for a gluten free product they are cheap! The gluten free version of squarish wraps are double the price at £1 each. Being gluten free is not cheap :( I also grill them to make tortilla chips for...

    Not impressed Slimming World :(

Thanks for all your comments. I know it is silly but for me it is a stumbling block (I have Aspergers which I suspect may be behind my mindset) but don't hold it against me :) Anyway, I've decided that I need to focus on a plan that fits with my new gluten-free diet and so I've switched to SW.

    Not impressed Slimming World :(

I don't need it to be recognised by a 'competitor' - it is just nice if it is recognised by SOMEONE. The credit for my weight loss certainly does not go to a specific weight loss programme but it me. So I'm not looking to say 'yay, lost 100lbs with SW' or 'yay, lost 100lbs with WW'. Just...

    Not impressed Slimming World :(

I am still losing weight - I'm not joining to lose more weight, I'm still on my weightloss journey. I was at WW last week, I want to switch now to SW (as I said it is more suited to my gluten free diet). It is not as if I lost all the weight with WW and then stopped and put lots back on again...

    Not impressed Slimming World :(

Yes. I already have the 50 and 75lb certificates from WW. Surely certificates celebrate weight loss not the sucess of a specific programme?

    Not impressed Slimming World :(

I have to say that I am not too impressed so far. I contacted Slimming World two weeks ago with a query and heard nothing from them despite the website saying they respond within 7 days. So I called them today (finally, after managing to get a non 0844 number for them) and it looks as if I...

Healthy extras and gluten free products

I'm looking for advice before I decide whether or not to do SW. What is the situation with gluten free breads as HEs? I know that BFree Multigrain Wraps are included as a HE, but what about wholemeal or seeded gluten free bread? The main problem I'm having with WW is that on filling and...

C25K .... Overture and beginners please!

I know I haven't posted here for a while. Still running - now that the mornings and evenings are lighter. On Monday this week I ran my first 6k, and promptly followed it up on Wednesday with another 6k - this time following the school's cross-country route (while avoiding sheep poo) :)

    Does exercise really work?

Totally. I started WW without doing any exercise but soon hit a point where the weight stopped disappearing. I started running I started losing again. Over the winter I didn't run and ended up losing pretty much nothing. I've now started running 3 times a week again and the weight loss has...

I have been yoyo dieting for about 25 years. Never really got anywhere with it. This time is different and have lost 86lbs over the last year. So I don't seem to have messed up my metabolism. This sort of thing annoys me. You need no medical training to be a WW leader and they shouldn't be...

    Diary of a binge eater.

You don't NEED to do 3 meals and no snacks. True, that is what a lot of people in OA chose to do, but the beauty of OA is that YOU define your own food plan. There are people at my meeting who build snacks into their food plan.
  46. WillowFae

    Short term loss?

I did my first fast day yesterday and wondered how people are finding the weight loss on fast days. 500 calories 2 days a week, eat what you like the rest?

If you are planning on eating every hour or so then you won't get the health benefits from the diet. Ideally you should either have one or two small meals and no snacking. Yesterday I had breakfast at 8.30am and then nothing till dinner at 8pm
  48. WillowFae

    so so quiet

C25K isn't about doing it in 30 mins. It is about being able to run non-stop for 30 mins (the name of the programme is misleading). It takes me 43 minutes to do 5k. I'd like to get it down to 30 mins but I don't know if I ever will.
  49. WillowFae

  58. WillowFae

    Which would you choose?

I'd go with the 2nd option. An egg is 2pp. Mushrooms and tomatoes are free - just account for the oil they would be cooked in. Bread I'm not sure as I use WW which is 2pp per slice.

Just wondering if this is just me or not. When I log my weigh-ins on e-source it never logs it correctly. I weighed in yesterday at 11 stone 3 but my tracker says 11 stone 3.3. This means that it doesn't register that I have another silver seven. And having been really proud of the fact that...

True. It depends on the time you have and other commitments. With a young family as well as being a full-time teacher (so working most evenings) there is no way I could commit to going to a class. With the Welsh I listen to the 30 min podcast at school, either during my lunch break or after...

    Treat day?

    Heading over :)
  130. WillowFae

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

    Wohooooo!
  131. WillowFae

    Treat day?

I'm guessing it doesn't really matter. On e-source my weeklies reset on the morning of my weigh-in day so it would use the new ones.
  132. WillowFae

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

I know that feeling. Can you just stay in your classroom and avoid other people? This is one of the great things I find about teaching compared to when I worked in an office.
  133. WillowFae

    Treat day?

True. I just avoid takeaways as they lead to overeating for me. I also rarely use my weeklies.
  134. WillowFae

    Treat day?

Yes, or not have chippy ;). Haven't had takeaway since I started WW.
  135. WillowFae

    Treat day?

According to the eating out guide a standard portion of chips is 14 and cod in batter is 16. Kebabs aren't listed in the eating out guide or in e-source. I certainly couldn't have it as I'm only on 26 points a day.
  136. WillowFae

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

{{ hugs }}. Hope you got a call this morning to say school was shut.
  137. WillowFae

    Treat day?

Well, no, if you have a chippy AND a kebab on the same day then you won't have points left!
  138. WillowFae

    My progress so far

Complicated. I am quite open about it on my diary. Basically I'm in recovery for a food addiction. Post 71 in my diary explains it all.
  139. WillowFae

    My progress so far

*blush* Yeah, I got brave :)
  140. WillowFae

    My progress so far

Thanks. I've done WW on and off for the last 20 years. This time round I was almost 2 stone heavier than I had ever been so I can identify with you on that one!
  141. WillowFae

    My progress so far

Thank you everyone. I do feel very different and can hardly believe that second photo is me. I agree with the celebrity comments. If I was starting now I certainly wouldn't be inspired by the fact that Patsy Kensit lost 14lbs - whoop de doo! I could only DREAM of having 14lbs to lose. And a...
  142. WillowFae

    My progress so far

I know that as it is January there are a lot of new people here and I thought it might be good to show that you CAN lose a lot of weight. I started WW in May 2012 and have now lost nearly 81.5lb. I don't really DO photos of me but after posting this on my diary I have decided to get brave and...

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

:hug99: My inbox is open if you need it x
  145. WillowFae

    How much did I lose?

I'd only count changes of at least half a pound. That's how most scales work.
  146. WillowFae

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

I have to say, that is pretty amazing :)
  147. WillowFae

What can i use my points on

How many are you on? Do you feel hungry or are you just eating for the sake of using up the points?
  148. WillowFae

Do you eat your weekly/activity points?

I CAN'T do the moderation thing. So no cheese, crisps, white flour, or sugar for me. I'm getting used to it now.
  149. WillowFae

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

75lb!!! And even more shocking, 200pp!!!!!!!!! How is that even possible! I just treated it like a normal Sunday roast and had no snacks between meals. Christmas for me this year was about my children, not the food.
  150. WillowFae

Do you eat your weekly/activity points?

My advice would be to not eat the foods that might make you binge but I know that's a controversial view!
  151. WillowFae

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

Cool!!!! Let us know how it goes :)
  152. WillowFae

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

Oh I hate that! I remember people at my meeting thinking I was insane. A girl was going out on a hen weekend and she knew what restaurant they were going to on the Saturday eve and had decided on what she was going to have - steak and chips. I suggested that she might want to ask them to swap...
  153. WillowFae

Do you eat your weekly/activity points?

Eat my dailes' rarely eat weeklies, and never eat activity points.
  154. WillowFae

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

    People on these boards?
  155. WillowFae

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

    You don't get one for half a stone :) One for 50lbs, 75lbs, and 100lbs. :D
  156. WillowFae

    Cheesed off!!!!!

Yes, if you've gone from Cambridge to WW then it will take time for your body to readjust to food. Just be patient :) As for an app - it could be the official WW one, or the value diary one.
  157. WillowFae

    Cheesed off!!!!!

What were your diet and activity levels like before? Was there a drastic change from last week to this week? This is why most people lose a lot of weight in their first week.
  158. WillowFae

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

I know what you mean. I just want to keep going to get my next certificate and little charm for my key ring (I'm shallow, I like physical rewards!). A least it will be free when I get to goal.
  159. WillowFae

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

Are you then going to just do WW on your own?
  160. WillowFae

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

    :) :hug99:
  161. WillowFae

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

BTW, just for you I posted before and after photos in my diary - eek!!!!
  162. WillowFae

    Back after a break!

*pounce* Good to see you back :)
  163. WillowFae

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

That sucks - the meeting, not the weigh in. Can you find a different meeting?
  164. WillowFae

    Dairy of a yoyo!!

Good to see you back - hope the weigh in goes well! Let us know :) (thanks for posting on my diary again :) )
  165. WillowFae

    Treat day?

It's too close to call for me, so I stay within my boundaries.
  166. WillowFae

    Treat day?

No treat days here. My treat is the knowledge that I haven't binged or overeaten.
  167. WillowFae

After a few weeks of thinking...

See, I thought the fact that you restrict yourself to just shakes would be the answer to my problems. But it wasn't. But then I don't do WW as recommended. I don't allow myself anything as long as it is pointed. I steer clear of my trigger foods so have definite 'banned' items.
  168. WillowFae

    January challenge

Just copy and paste the last version of the table and change it.
  169. WillowFae

    Daisy's Diary!

    Good luck. 3lb gain isn't a MAJOR disaster :)
  170. WillowFae

    Please help!! Confussed!!

Not sure I'm afraid (I only eat breast meat). 100g of chicken breast cooked with no skin is 3pp. One cooked chicken thigh with skin is 5pp and the WW app reckons it is 85g. I know breast meat is less than the rest of the chicken. Could be 4pp, could be 5pp.
  171. WillowFae

    eating out question please

I think it's just the steak, because at Harvester the menu is just for steak. Although the price includes a potato side dish, you chose which one you want. When I go to Harvester I take the points of the main meal and add the points of the potato option I have.
  172. WillowFae

    MFP

I use it along with the WW app. A lot of my friends who are not doing WW use it and to be honest, I like charts :D I generally find the information to be very accurate and it has the best UK food database of the online sites. I've even used it to work out the pp for some restaurants if their...
  173. WillowFae

Well this is it till goal

Good luck. But remember, this isn't just it till goal. This is IT. If it only lasts till goal the weight will go back on. You have the right attitude by calling it a healthy eating programme rather than a diet :)
  174. WillowFae

    A bit disheartened

    Well done :)
  175. WillowFae

    nutritional Labels

No, because when you cook them they lose water so the weight is different. Pasta is the reverse, it takes on weight so weighs more.
  176. WillowFae

    Realistic target?!

3-4lbs over 3 weeks is great. Nothing to be pissed off about. Are you comparing your loss to other people your size, or larger people? Most people on here who report big losses have a lot more to lose than you so it will come off quicker.

3lb is a great loss. And don't forget that the people that have the big losses in the first week tend to be the people who have a LOT to lose, which you don't.
  181. WillowFae

After a few weeks of thinking...

Good luck. I'm losing, on average, 10lb a month with WW - not far off the 1 stone a month that most VLCDs promise.

Thanks. See, I tracked every day and stuck to just eating at meal times - so no naughty snacking.
  192. WillowFae

    How to Combat Evening Snacking?

I don't snack at all and it was a HARD habit to break. If I ever get tempted I just tell myself that I'll wait 30 mins (or whatever). Then when that time is up I tell myself I'll wait another 30 mins, etc. Or if it's really bad, go to bed - LOL!

    Easter 2013.................................

Just popping in to say well done everyone and keep going :) Weigh day on Thursday - though I am having a big Christmas dinner at lunchtime which isn't the sort of thing I'd normally eat a few hours before weigh in so that might have an impact!
  202. WillowFae

    whats your next goal(s)

Forgot to update this! Did that and am now at 70lbs. 75lbs by Christmas would be nice - my original Christmas target was 60lbs. My leader already has my 75lb certificate ready and waiting - pressure!!!!

  208. WillowFae

so how are you all going to keep to plan over the holidays?

Thing is, I know that if I don't stick to my programme I WON'T enjoy Christmas. I have always hated feeling so full I can't move. I've always hated being surrounded by food. Always hated those mental battles I have. So for me this year is different. But then I know that I have additional...

    What have you lost

I'm now up to the fats and oils that an average American eats in a year.
  212. WillowFae

so how are you all going to keep to plan over the holidays?

Just say no and explain to people that I just can't eat x y or z. Eat at meal times and nothing else. And no alcohol. I will spend time with my family and aim to enjoy that time rather than slouched on the sofa feeling uncomfortably full. I'm in panto over Christmas so will be out a lot...

    Wohoo!! You're still alive :D
  214. WillowFae

Psst... Something NEW is on the way!

It's why SW never worked for me and why I have HAD to remove certain foods (cheese, crisps, sugar, and white flour are the main ones) from my diet even though WW says you can eat anything so long as you point it. And why I will never eat those things again.
  215. WillowFae

Psst... Something NEW is on the way!

Why would you do that though? That just leads to compulsive overeating. If that's the solution they've come up with I'm not impressed!
  216. WillowFae

    Question about my journey

I would say that 6 stone in 5 months is unlikely to be honest - although it does depend how big you are to start with. I've lost almost 5 stone in 6.5 months and that is incredibly fast! And I started running so I do exercise as well. Do be realistic otherwise you will get despondant and view...
