    Asda Cottage Cheese

Can anyone tell me the up to date values for: Asda Chosen by You Cottage Cheese with Onion & Chive (300g) Asda Chosen by You Cottage Cheese with Pineapple (300g) There's a few old threads kicking about but don't know if this has been changed - know the packaging got an overhaul a while ago...

    Feeling fat!

Keep a wee eye on your salt intake too (including things like soy sauce, stock cubes and some spices like Chinese 5 Spice and Season-all) - it can make you feel bloated because it causes you to retain water. But drinking plenty will help flush it out if that is what's causing you to feel bloated.

I am changing to calorie counting from S W

Hi everyone, I'm deliberating making the jump from SW to CC - having read the threads on here, I think I have made my decision! Unfortunately - or fortunately, if you want to look at it another way - I've bought a load of 'Slimming World-friendly' food (cold meat, fruit, crabsticks, quorn mince...

Can't make up my mind - Slimming world or Calorie Counting

I was going to create a thread that was identical to this, and then I found yours! I'm swithering between Slimming World and calorie counting - on one hand, I like the simplicity of Slimming World, and not having to weigh everything, but at the same time I'm very limited in terms of what I can...

    Segregated groups

My consultant used to do a men's only group, and it was really well attended, but she no longer does it (I don't know if numbers dropped, or there were a lot of women wanting to attend in that time slot)

    Afraid to use syns...

This was never a problem the last time I did SW - I literally couldn't get enough syns! I'm going to buy a small multipack of Cadbury's Fudges with my shopping tomorrow - I like them, and they're only 5 or 6 syns each, so it would mean I was using up some of my syns, getting a wee sweet treat...

    How many syns to have

My consultant starts everyone on 10 syns - although the book says 5-15, I've never heard her recommending that to anyone. 10 seems to be gospel at our group :)

Ah, I see - I've just gone and eaten a hifi bar to top my syns up :)

Extra Easy How long and how much?

    syns help... newbie xx

I love SW because it is so easy to eat out on - lovely fillets of salmon, big portions of steak, and baked totties galore! Hurrah! :)
  16. A

    Is this wise?

Personally, I wouldn't want to risk seeing a gain on the scale for one day of not counting (especially if you were sticking to the plan 100% otherwise)... it would probably be easy to go over the 45 syns if you weren't tracking them. Maybe you could talk to your consultant about flexible syns...
  17. A

    Afraid to use syns...

I'll maybe try and work them in with my meals - some jam on HEB toast would be a good start! Do you really need to eat all your syns?

Planning meals and budgeting...why is it so hard for me?

There's another book that your consultant can order for you called Family Feasts on a Budget - might be worth a look? I've ordered one and I'm hoping there'll be a lot of meals I can freeze spare portions of :)

It's making me feel ill :(

Agreed with Patchwork Puss, it's all about identifying your trigger foods and avoiding them. I have IBS and quite often daily stress can cause flareups - are you suffering from any excessive stress right now? It might have nothing to do with what you're eating. Either that or your IBS is really...

... and not for the reason you think. I completely agree that a little bit of what you fancy does you good, and can even boost your weightloss by causing you to stick to the plan while you still have your little indulgences, but, I'm afraid to use them. I have a history of binge eating, and I'm...

    Morrisons Plain Chicken Strips

Hi everyone, I've not had much luck finding these on Slimming World's syns online but I was hoping someone might be able to help. These are just plain pieces of cooked chicken, found in the frozen section. It says 'chicken pieces in a plain marinade'. The ingredients are chicken, flour and...

    Pudding rice and flaked rice

I know the flaked rice has syns (and quite a lot of them), but I just wanted to ask, does it specifically SAY 'flaked rice' on the label? I bought some Co-operative Pudding Rice (short grain rice) and I'm paranoid that I've inadvertently bought the wrong stuff - someone put my mind at ease lol :)

Peggydee I loved your motivation tips! For me, I keep a running list of all the reasons I want to lose weight and keep it on my phone. uncle bens rice time sweet and sour

Hi Pammy, it's 1 1/2 syns for the rice and 10 syns for the sauce, so 11 1/2 syns all in - this is for the Thai Sweet Chilli - couldn't find any values for the Thai Green Curry one on Syns online.

Is it just me or is SW expensive?

You could try making cheap meals like Slimming World quiche (with the cottage cheese) or a big tub of tuna pasta salad you can take for lunches. We do 5-spice spaghetti in our house - it's just spaghetti, a chicken stock cube, some 5 spice and ready cooked chicken pieces. It's yummy! I agree...

Intuitive eating has ruined my diet mojo!

Has anyone else had this problem? For the past year or so I've been tinkering with the idea of intuitive eating, you know, rejecting the diet mentality, making peace with my body, following hunger and satiety cues etc, but the only thing that has happened is I've ended up heavier and unhappy...

My target according to THE graph means I'll still be overweight

Extra Easy 100% on plan but stayed the same :-(

I agree with lardylady, sometimes the scales don't reflect what has went on during the week. There are lots of reasons why the scale might not have reflected your hard work - you might just be retaining water (did you have something salty the day before?). Hope the scale shows you the loss you...
