    Another day completed and have to admit I am pleased with myself as I did not give in to temptation. I am trying to not think about dieting only thinking about eating sensibly. Hope tomorrow is another good day.

    Weighed my self yesterday and the damage was not as bad as I expected. I had only put on 1lb. Yesterday I did eat some rubbish but managed to just go over my calorie allowance by 100 cals today is a new day so I am going to try much harder today.

    Managed to lose 1lb. A bit annoyed it was not more but I did go off track for a few days so it could have been far worse, but a lb is a lb and I can now wave bye bye to the 18s. Still feeling motivated, long may it last.

    Losing 5 stone before trying for a baby

    If you are comfortable with your weight at the moment and your bmi is ideal maybe 10 1/2 stone is too light. You will know yourself what weight you want to be. You have done really well and must be proud of yourself.

    Hi tessa2000 I am counting calories, not doing any excercise at the moment as I am in plaster with a broken foot, but hopefully in another few weeks I will be mobile again and get out walking. Keep up the good work.

    Still motivated, day 8 I had 1660 calories, but day 9 I have only had 800 calories as I feel so sick, dizzy and cold and not really wanting to eat, hope this is just a 24hr thing.

    Day 7 and still being good. I thought I would have slipped up by now, I must be in the right frame of mind this time. Today I used 1660 calories. Weighing myself tomorrow, if I have not lost anything I will be so disappointed.

    You can do this ellaye. Sometimes if you are really hungry a few wafer slices of ham or a hard boiled egg are better at filling you up for longer than a quick fix biscuit or crisps.

    Day 6 and still hanging in there. Today my calorie intake was 1500. Think I have found a way of beating the evening munchies is to put about 100 calories of cereal in a small bowl and any time I want a biscuit I just take a few bits of cereal.

    Day 5 and still going strong. I have to admit that the munchies are starting to creep in, but I have not given in to temptation. I have used 1450 calories today. I am having to force myself to drink a lot of water 11/2 litres plus quite a few cups of coffee. Can't wait for my weigh in on Tuesday...

    Day 3 and not so good. Well meaning friends visited and brought lovely cakes with them. It would have been rude not to eat one, so I chose the biggest one and ate it. Today my cal total was 2000 calories. The cake was not worth it as now I can't eat anything until tomorrow. Still feeling positive.

    Be careful with all that chocolate in the house trying to tempt you to eat it all. I sometimes have a choc options drink when I want to gorge myself with chocolate. It is not as good but it takes me longer to drink than eating a big choc bar.

    I am up for the challenge, I only started today so no weight loss yet. Currently 269 lbs so have lots to lose. Trying calorie counting this time as quick loss diets have only worked short term for me as I have just regained all the weight I have lost plus a few extra lbs.

That's my first day done, I managed to use 1200 calories, but it is nice to know that if I do eat anything else tonight as it is another 2hours until my bedtime I will not feel guilty.     I have just found this site, and hope with encouragement from fellow dieters we can all get these excess pounds off. I am starting my diet (no junk foods) tomorrow. Lots to lose, but hopefully this time I will do it. Am going to try and stick to eating between 1000 - 1250 cals a day.
