    Why are you losing weight?

Because I'm overweight and I don't want to be.

    Determined to be ME...Finally...

Your level headed determination is inspiring :) I'm new too. Hope you get to use that bike!

Fat forever when you were fat as child/teen?

Was a healthy kid, till 12/13 when I started dieting/overeating. It becomes 'all you know' when it starts as a child, which is why it makes it more difficult in my opinion. Maybe some fear laced in with losing the weight because it was your layer of protection when little?

    Obsessive Weighing

Just my opinion, but I don't think weighing every day makes any sense at all. The shifts are so subtle... It just don't work that way. I would weigh once a week, after a shower.

    Giving up white bread

Haven't had white bread in 6 months, you might as well be eating a piece of cake. White pasta, white rice I also avoid. Definitely an easy one, this. Their replacements taste so much nicer.

    Give up added sugar challenge?

I read pure, white and deadly too :) Am all for this... Biggest challenge for me! Not just chocolate but all refined white stuff has loads of sugar, ready meals (savoury ones), cereal, even ready made salad dressings... Definitely a tough one. Will try.

Where did you get your habits from?

From my mother, who was always very weight conscious and saw me as an extension of herself, thereby enforcing her bad habits onto me. I 'rebelled' by stuffing my face, and it's hence become my go-to response when I'm feeling frustrated and angry, generally. How I feel about it. Err... Was...

    Weight and Paranoia

My best friend whacked this out of me a couple of months ago, so easily. We were in a holiday park amidst a bunch of other people. I told her, "Wonder what that lot think about us." She said, "Have you spared them a second thought?" "Err... No." "Well. There you go."

    The “I Can’t” Conundrum

I bash myself more than I'd like to, but a lot less than I used to. I think as long as your self worth is tied in with how you look, it's always going to be difficult. The real challenge isn't saying, "I'm beautiful" if you don't feel it... I mean, I don't feel beautiful when I'm unhealthy...

    If only I didn't have a sweet tooth I would be a size 6 not 16 !!!!!!

Sugar is my weakness too... It really is addictive, specially when you find out its in all sorts of other stuff too like white bread, most to all refined products, take out pizza, packet sauces, 'healthy' cereal (special K is more sugary than the chocolate ones!)... There is no escaping it...

    Most ridiculous diet I've tried

Did cabbage soup diet too... And the one with the celery-soup where you switch from fruit to fruit and veg, to just milk and bananas(?!) as the week progresses. And the rainbow diet. All as useless as each other!

    Ideal weight????????

Depends on your height, doesn't it. Always felt I would feel best at 8 stone, or even 7 and a half because I'm so tiny! Nothing to do with over-reaching, I LIKE good curves and don't want to be a stick... But the weight is really uncomfortable when you're short.

    Fatorexia

Haha, know all about this one. Think it's something to do with close-ups. Thought I looked 'okay' and not bad in mirrors, even full length ones, then spotted myself in a distance-photo and baulked. You just do not realise and it's a horror!

    Treat day? help?

I did this for a year and lost a lot of weight. Sunday was 'Sinday' and all the **** I'd want to eat during the week, I'd tell myself I wold have on Sinday. It worked pretty well for a while... Especially as you are so bloated and sick on Monday, you can't stand the sight of food and look...

Am I possibly the greediest person in the universe? honesty about appetite within!

Pizza is my weakness too, though haven't had it in ages. Also things like toast with butter, so basically stodgy comforting carbohydrates... AND I'm a huge sugar fiend. Tried cutting it out and I got withdrawal symptoms, no lie! S'ridiculous, I'm trying to avoid it as much as possible now. But...

    My 12 steps to goal.........................

Allow me to cautiously reintroduce myself

Slimming groups are extremely depressing! The irony of posting this here doesn't escape me, but I understand what you mean. I have always much preferred to do these things privately, but then I am a private person. Each to their own. (This seems like a good middle road, to me.) What sort of...

    Hello, I'm new here

Hi there..! Never done this sorta' thing before. Diets have always been extremely private affairs! But thought I'd step out of my comfort zone and give this a go. I am currently 12 stone, which feels uncomfortable to say. Crept down to 11 something a while back, but no doubt I'm up to 12...
