This is the problem with weighing daily, we inevitably attribute the loss/gain to whatever we ate (or didn't eat) the day before but that's not necessarily correct. The only way you can know what's working is to do it for a week/fortnight/month and weigh at the end of that period.

I don't think it's possible to know how a diet will pan out though, all you can do is try it and see. And if it doesn't work, try something else. If you worry too much about it not working, you'll just add to your stress levels. And lord knows it's all stressful enough as it is.

I think you're over-thinking this Helena, worrying about obstacles that don't exist yet.

I love that feeling as well. For me that's even better that the weigh ins. I think my major milestones will be when I fit into certain clothes that haven't fit me for ages. I've got a black t shirt that I used to wear after I lost weight in 2008. It's nothing special but I used to feel good...

    Claire Bear's shrinking mission

I've just had a look at the christmas thread, I think I'll join in once I've weighed tomorrow and worked out what I think I can achieve by christmas. That Hairy Bikers recipe looks interesting, with one or two amendments I could make that free on Slimming World

    Drag0nfly's journey

Had lovely meal with the family at my sisters. My mother was as predictable as ever though... Mum: Why are you not having pie? Me: Because I'm doing Slimming World Mum: *pulls face* (A few mins later) Mum: Are you having a cake? Me: No, thanks. Mum: Why? Me: Because it would be a bit pointless...

I'll second that. Weighing yourself every day is a recipe for misery. I'm weighing once a week.

Slightly awkward moment earlier. My sister rang to invite me for a family tea later on today, for which she's cooking pie/creamy mash/veg. Gulp. Don't even want to think about how many syns that would be. I had to ask her if she'd be offended if I brought my own food. Bless her, she said she...

Thanks for the reassurances everyone, I definitely feel a bit better about things this evening. I read through a few of the other threads earlier, including yours Bigbear, it's so good to hear about people on a similar journey. I'll read some more tomorrow if I get chance. Going to have a...

    Drag0nfly's journey

Thanks for your kind words ladies. I don't know why I'm feeling a bit down about it all at the moment, I should be on cloud nine. If someone had said to me a month ago that I'd have lost almost 2 stone I wouldn't have believed it. But here I am feeling a bit sorry for myself because it's not...

    Drag0nfly's journey

Hi everyone, I joined Slimming World just over a month ago. It's being going well so far but I'm beginning to feel like I could use some moral support. I've been getting tips etc from another forum but most of the ladies on there only have a stone or two to lose so I feel a bit like a fish...
