    Online is the most up to date. The syn values for wine changed a while ago to reflect different strengths. My consultant went through it all in group and gave us a sheet to put in our books.

    Really need advice

    Sometimes I have meals where it seems odd to add a vegetable (e.g. gammon, chips and beans). So, while I'm cooking, I'll cut up some raw carrot and celery sticks, and munch on them while I'm cooking. So I've had my speed beforehand.

    That's impressive; I always find that the 35g looks so tiny (especially in comparison to the portion sizes I used to eat!). You could use the leftover oats/porridge in something else (like syn-free pancakes for dessert?) or save them for later, or even another day. There's no point eating them...

    Maybe try upping your syns? If you're eating too little then your body will go into starvation mode and hold on to its fat stores. Several people on here have reported having better losses when they use more syns.

    Harvester syns list

    The list on the Sw website is mostly the desserts. I went to a Harvester a few weeks ago and had a steak, a jacket potato, and salad. There's lots of free stuff on the salad bar. The salad dressings and sauces all have calorie counts so you can work out the syns for those.

    Does using 105 syns throughout the week work for you?

    I don't find that it works for me. I'd just end up having 105 syns in one go! I need the limit of 15 to keep me on the straight and narrow. If I go over my 15 one day, then I don't try and cut down on subsequent days. I've tried to do this before and it makes me more likely to go off plan.

    I like both Alpen Lights and the Hi-Fi bars. I find the Alpen Light flavours tend to be a bit more breakfast-y, whereas the Hi-Fi bars seem like more of a treat, if that makes sense?     Trimming off 'all visible fat'...

    I find the easiest way is to use a pair of sharp kitchen scissors and just cut it off. Same for cutting visible fat off meat. If I use a knife, I'm always worried that I'm going to slip and cut myself.

    I've started buying bacon medallions because it's just easier. I also remove the skin from chicken before cooking as it's easier to resist when it's all flubbery and uncooked! I always marinade my chicken before cooking so it doesn't go dry without the skin.

    I started at 15 stone two weeks ago and was told that I was borderline between getting 15 and 20 syns a day and it was my choice. I decided to stick to 15 as I didn't want to get used to having 20 and then have to drop them!

    Slimming world and???

    I like Slimming World because I don't have to calorie count! Trying to do both sounds like hard work! Although I do try and incorporate the principles of a low GI diet into the choices I make on Slimming World (e.g. wholemeal pasta over white pasta, brown rice over white rice etc.).
