    52 Weeks of Change

Hi Rhiannon and welcome! My partner also likes larger ladies which is great, BUT, it meant there seemed no reason for me to diet! He likes huge portions and I found my portions getting bigger. However there came a point where I realised that for the sake of my health, that I needed to do...

    Newbie :)

I lost weight last year but it came to a halt at Christmas when I wasn't well with a few things - just run of the mill things, but couldn't exercise and comfort ate a bit. Only started back earlier this month but can't quite get back into the swing of things. Now boyfriend has a week off and...

    Hi All

Hi Muggle and welcome. I'm taking a similar approach to you - no specific diet, just healthier foods, smaller portions etc - I'm always surprised when I see what a 'normal' portion is on diet programmes as it seems small lol. I'm sure you'll find lots of info and support on here - good luck :)

    I'm overweight because.....

As a child I was slim, energetic and always on the go. At 13 my parents divorced and my dad (who I've never got on with) wouldn't move out, home life was miserable. I spent all my pocket money and babysitting money on cakes and chocolate, because eating them gave me great pleasure and made me...

Can you weigh yourself too much??

I always thought once a week (same day, same time, same clothes) seemed sensible but I did see something on TV recently which (as Dave W above stated) said the latest thinking was that you should weigh yourself every day and work out the average.

    P'd off Clothes Shopping

I think most people can identify with this problem - I often wonder why there isn't an industry standard for clothes. I have the added problem of being tall at 5' 11" so clothes proportions are all wrong for me, tops are too short and I can never find a dress where the waistline isn't up under...

    I'll start tomorrow

Your post made me smile as I'd decided to restart my diet today but had a rubbish day and so it's going to be tomorrow now. I use Myfitnesspal to log food as seeing it in black & white does make me think more about what I'm eating. Good luck :)

    so fed up

I think weight loss can be a bit erratic so don't get down hearted. I don't know if not using your Syns is the reason, perhaps you could ask at your next weigh in? As craftermary said, they say 2lb a week is recommended so overall you're on track. I'm sure it will even out over the coming...

    Hi

I use the Myfitnesspal app as seeing those calories add up during the day does keep you more focused. I've also got a Fitbit and watching the steps add up also keeps me motivated. Having said that I haven't done either since Christmas as I had a vomiting bug, followed by a cold which turned...

    Hello everyone

Hi Lisa - I'm new to this site. I'm not attending a slimming club I'm as a bit skint, just trying to eat healthier foods in smaller portions, combined with a bit of exercise. That's great that you've re-joined Slimming World - you sound very positive and determined - good luck :)

    A tentative hello

I wouldn't say I put it better (but thank you Everhopeful :)), I thought your comment about being excited about a new interest and going from a run to a jog was very true. Hi everyone, I'm new and quite shy but thought it a bit rude not to introduce myself so here goes. I'm in my 50s and been overweight since my teens. I eat when I'm happy, I eat when I'm sad, well you know the sort of thing lol. I've been a yo-yo dieter in the past but last year managed to...
