Thank you for your replies.
I have been on to the website and it says I would be on 2600 cal on an 'up' day. I know I am heavy to start and tall, I do walk to and from work (about 3 miles a day) but this seems like an awful lot?
Good afternoon,
I am still struggling to settle on something I can actually do. I have great success with low carb but I am loosing so much hair it has me worried.
I tried calorie counting but I can't really be trusted. I have upped my exercise quite a lot which has meant I haven't gained...
I seem to do well at low carb, its the only one I do well at. I do eat very few carbs sometimes though.
I don't know to be honest because I don't know if I am just unfit to begin with! I don't think I would have much stamina if I was eating more carbs! Take it easy and be proud of any gym...
I have been going since 2/1/14.
I am not starving hungry or anything but before I could have happily not eaten a thing until my evening meal but I am finding myself wanting a little something since upping the exercise. xx
Hi :)
Since joining a gym I have been getting really hungry during the day. I am rubbish at bringing a pack up (husband used to make mind when he was doing his sandwiches!) so I have ended up going to the nearest shop (M&S) and buying ham and things. This is far too expensive and I know I...
I am really not keen on soya milk. I am so not a fussy person on food and will usually eat absolutely anything but for some reason I really can't take to soya / almond milk in tea and coffee. I have never tried coconut though so I am not sure what that would be like.
I was just curious...
I have just been trying to explain to a friend that I can't have milk and was saying it is something to to with the lactose in milk. She asked if I could then have lactose free milk. I had never thought of it but do remember seeing the adverts for it. I am sure its not that simple and I dare...
Fruit is high in carbs as is the majority of veg. Veg to go for is things like: Cauli, Brocolli (not loads though) Spinach, Leaves, Cucumber, Avocado.
Things like onions, tomatoes, carrot can be high in sugar therefore high in carbs.
If you break down the cost of a bumper pack its £1.29 per meal, on average the WW meals seem to be between £1.50-£1.70 each so at best still 21p more expensive for the WW meal option.
On top of that you'll feel awful because you won't be under a limit of carbs (3 exante packs are around 60g...
Hi everyone,
I am stuck at work with a shaker, hot and cold water and a pot of coffee, how would I go about making this into a "latte" without making one hell of a mess or ruining my one pack I have with me for the afternoon?
Thank you,
Louise
So far so good. I have even managed to pop out for a drink with friends and have soda water!
I arranged to meet for dinner on Saturday, I chose the harvester to give myself a fighting chance. I chose the chicken but asked for no chips and some green beans instead of peas. She completely...
I have told my husband to hide the scales and not give them back to me until the end of the month. I so hope this works and keeps my head in check! xxx
Hi All,
I know this thread has been done to death but I was just wondering about the reasons behind why we do what we do....!!!
I have been toying with the idea this time of weighing myself monthly. I was a little naughty before and used to jump on them every day and it lead to me trying to...
Its back with a vengeance! Everything I hyped myself up about last week is slipping away......!
I am being very positive and trying to block it all out!
I have been thinking about waiting a whole month to weigh myself but now I am guessing I will need to see the scales moving to help me...
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for your kind words.
As I had a big meal with my family for new years I didn't manage to reduce my carbs. I started before on Boxing day so it would appear I am not very good at that!
So far I am doing / feeling ok. I have had a couple of hot drink mixes to get me...
Hi everyone :)
I have ordered my boxes and am starting all over again on the 2nd of January.
I had great success with the Cambridge diet a few years ago but have regained the 7 stone I lost. I do believe this is due to be stopping a stone from my goal weight though so I plan not to make the...
What car was it? Some 'newer' automatics do have a form of a clutch rather than a torque converter than before. I know they're doing the right thing by having it back and repairing it but they're not making you wait for the mechanic to come back from holiday and leaving you without a car are...
You're the same height as me with the same size feet! If we didn't we'd forever be falling over! My sister is 6ft with size 5 feet and is forever falling over!!!
I am in to hair extensions at the minute, clip in ones. I figure its a good thing to treat myself to and when my hair falls out I...
Working solution might work well for you. I don't mind the shakes and bars but never really fancied the soups. To be fair I never had the exante ones but was put off by the Cambridge soups! When on Cambridge I did 6 months of nothing but chocolate!!!
I do working solution as I changed job...
I did but I can say 100% it was all my fault. I have never known a eater like me when I get going, I should have my own television programme or something! The silly thing is when I get back on this I actually like the feeling of being 'empty' and not full to the brim and bloating, doesn't stop...
Good choices, harvester is usually quite a good one. They will swap some things for you as well. I once asked for no carbs on my plate just green veg instead of chips or potatoes, they were ever so sweet but piled my plate with peas! I didn't realise at the time but they're full of carbs.
Honestly its so hard and I have always done it but stay away from the scales! It sends your mind crazy when the numbers are not doing what your tummy feels like they should do! If you can pack them away from one week to the next it helps, I have even known people stop weighing for a month so...
Thank you for your lovely replies :)
I am looking forward to getting back to Exante actually, I feel like I know where I'm at with it, all this food stuff doesn't really make sense to me!
On a science side does anyone know why they tell you to stay away from caffeine on Atkins and Dukan but...
Thank you for your reply :)
I always remember making my cambridge chocolate shake up to a mocha which was lovely and caused no problems! Does avoiding caffeine not get mentioned on a VLCD then?
I am thinking of going for working solution as I take a big walk to work now and end up feeling a...
I am jumping about at the minute whilst I decide what track I'm on!
I lost about 8st on Cambridge and put most of it back on (all my own doing) then turned to exante last year and lost about 4 before I got married but have put most of that on again and am now right back to where I started pre...
Hi,
I am obv going wrong somewhere but I am not sure where.
I was basically eating cuts of meat with green veg (keeping below 25g carb a day) and a little cheese and one cup of decaf with cream a day, I am not a great fan of chicken and turkey so tend to lean towards steak, mince, lamb and...
I am just wondering what the issue with citric acid? Does it prevent you losing weight or kick you out of ketosis?
I have really wanted a drink of soda water with sugar free lime in it but I am wondering what would end up happening?!
I have read you should stick under 4oz of cheese a day to prevent stalling, I just wondered if that is for all cheese types or if it is just hard cheese?
Does anyone know what it is about cheese that makes people stall?
Thank you,
Hiya,
Thank you so much for your reply :)
I have read and heard about this. It does sound really interesting. How does it work? Do you have to stay in Ketosis? What sort of things might you eat over a normal week? Also, what sort of weight losses should you expect to see? xx
Hi everyone,
I have done all sorts before, do well during them, do badly after them! I lost 7 stone on cambridge a few years ago and then about 4 st last year on exante / low carbing.
I like the idea of low carbing and do ok at it all but I have always fell back on something like the...
Thank you for all your replies :)
I know its a silly thing to worry about but the way these things are worded look really scary!
I think any kind of diet makes you feel a little restricted and if you come accross something that suits you and you enjoy its horrible worrying about if you should...
I'm just wondering, are you allowed to eat Stilton on Atkins?
Also I'm worried, I could quite happily eat steak 5 times a week (I don't but I could!) but there's things in the news saying red meat is dangerous. Am I right to be worried?
Thank you for your replies, that's fantastic advice.
I didn't realise how many things can cause these odd problems!
I've brought some decaf coffee to try with,
Thank you x
Thank you for your reply,
Why is it that cream is ok but not milk?
Also, what is it about caffeine? Does that mean tea should be avoided too?
Thank you once again, still trying to get my head round everything! !
Hiya,
I'm just wondering what it is about milk and caffeine that causes problems with caffeine?
I've been trying with Atkins but have had a few coffees and stopped loosing. Just wondering because I've read about people not drinking milk and not having caffeine?
Thank you,
Louise
Just wondering what you eat on a typical low carb day and what you lose a week,
I am wanting to eat more than a vlcd but curious to what I should actually eat!
What sort of calories / fat content should be kept to to try and lose about 3 lbs a week?
Thank you x
Hiya,
I have been following exante and getting on really well.
I have been adding meals as and when and enjoying that.
I am eating protein and veg / salad. I was wondering what sorts of meat go down well on atkins? Is there anything that should be avoided?
I like fish and I really...
Hiya,
I know when following a ketonic diet we are supposed to avoid salt. I have been told this is as it will make us retain water.
Is this because it is dangerous or is it bad because it gives innacurate weight loss readings?
I was a bridesmaid on Saturday and knew I would have to get involved with the odd glass of champagne, we had breakfast at the hotel so I had scrambled egg, mushrooms and 2 slices of brown bread.
For the evening meal I had been put down for sausage and mash, I had one of the 2 sausages and...
It's jelly crystals which are sugar free, the 10 calorie tubs made up have citric acid in but there's no mention of it on the sachets,
It is a whole tub in there, not sure on the size, must be about half a pint cuz when added to half a pint of water it makes about a pint x
Hi,
Sorry if this is tmi,
I have only lost a pound since Monday and I'm wondering if Totm has a part to play, would you normally weight loss stalls before of after?
Is this worse for ladies not on the pill? I didn't have this problem last time but I was on the pill then.
Thank you x
Hi All,
I am not sure if this would even work and it may not even be a good idea,
If someone was in ketosis and following a VLCD and wanted to get out of the house and actually have a dinner out somewhere do yoou think they would be able to have a atkins style meal? Hopefully in order to...
Done 15 days and lapsed once when at a course and they served a buffet. I was in a room full of strangers so managed to leave the room "for a phone call" but when I got back they'd saved me food so
I could have a lunch.
I managed to get away with 3 chicken nugget things without creating a...
Silly but I feel like its a totally different thing to have a warm shake! Makes a nice change!
Adding cinammon to a vanilla sounds lovely. Just thinking a little coffee and cinammon would make a cinammon latte! yum!
I don't think you're following a ketogenic diet though.
With you having carbs but calorie counting them you must struggle to be in ketosis which is the 'mode' that will protect your lean vital organs and ensure you burn fat.
Also are you not hungry quite a lot?
I used to suffer from the opposite!
However, it could be a bug you've picked up thats nothing to do with the diet, when theres un wanted germs in our system its not unusual for our bodies to want it out, quick! (EEEK!)
Make sure you drink plenty as you'll be passing lots of water which...
I would love to have the power not to weigh for a month, I think it might make me feel good if everytime I jump on the scales to see that I had lost a stone.
Its hard to see a 2 lb loss sometimes after a week of a VLCD even though we know its going to even itself out.
I am terrible for...
Try as little salad something, green salads (lettuce, cucumber) and if you wanted something a little cottage cheese,
Would be just like a SS+ day then x
I don't know if its just me but I find they seem to have a really horrible smell if left for long,
I always try and clean the shaker as soon as I can as it seems horrible!
Hiya,
You have the same weight to lose as me.
Good luck, if you are used to a VLCD of sorts you will will get on just fine.
Its amazing how loosing even a little weight helps you feel better,
I was having knees that were giving way but even after a few pounds they start to feel...
All sounds lovely, thank you.
I didn't realise oily fish was ok, I thought only cod was ok!
Is there a list anywhere that actually lists the foods that are ok? I can only find example recipies of a few things on the website.
Made this last night:
Hartleys no sugar jelly (10 cals a portion) made with 1/2 pint of boiling water, allow to cool slightly.
Mix in 1 tub of quark and stir well then refrigerate.
Looking good like it's set hard, should be a nice pud!
Hi,
Hope everyones good,
Just wondering, I don't exactly feel full of beans, I feel a bit weak like when walking up hill and things! I do however find myself more awake at night when I would normally be tired,
Does anyone else experience this?
It seemed to bother everyone else a lot more than it bothered me! When I did it last time it was for about 8 months, people were still saying after 6 months how bad and unhealthy I was. If it was that bad how had I managed after 6 months!
My skin was better and I felt I looked better for...
Sounds nice, I like having the shakes warm sometimes.
I was wondering about splitting a pack and having it as a few mugs of 'hot chocolate' over a morning, has anyone tried it?
I def noticed my collar bones when they started re appearing, I hadn't seen them in ages! They dissapeared over a couple of years and now I am looking forward to seeing them again!
Try to remember how its made you feel this time, when you might go to eat something again remember how it made you feel and it might not feel worth it x
Brilliant thank you! Its quite nice actually,
For some reason I wasn't too fussed about green tea and not that fussed about peppermint tea but together its ok.
It's morrisons own so quite reasonable too.
Awww thank you!
I only started on monday and have been taking the husks with every shake I have.
Without being crude, everything worked itself out this afternoon and I'm fine! :o
Hi all,
Hope you are having a good day,
I discovered green tea with peppermint at morrisons last night,
I had it in my head I was allowed this when I did CD but I just want to check if its ok?
Hi,
I just wondered if anyone could help me with the newest list of allowed foods with CD, I know I've seen it on here somewhere but I can't find it!
Thank you x
Thank you everyone,
I do have a horrible headache though! More than I remember with CD.
How much of the Bullion are we allowed to have? Where can you get it from?
Hiya,
After much planning (Too much going on before today) I have finally started!
I have had a vanilla shake this morning which I thought was very nice, seemed nicer than the cambridge ones from a few years ago.
I am just wondering how to spread out my shakes, I work till 7 without a...
Had great successes with CD doing SS+
Is there something similar people do with exante?
I'm so looking forward to starting, I'm away on a training course just going through the motions with food as it would be odd up start the diet this week!
Thank you,
I am really looking forward to getting healthy again.
I did really well last time and quite enjoyed how easy I found the diet, you don't really have to think with a VLCD!
Thank you! I'm looking forward to it, I hope I don't end up cheating due to no weigh in though. I am thinking if I update on here then looking forward to doing that is enough to make sure I behave!
Silly question but,
How many VLCD's are there? I have been looking and there seems to be loads that I don't know of.
Can anyone help me name the food replacement / shake type VLCD's that are safe to do as total replacement diets?
Hi all, hope you're doing well.
I am just wondering if height means anything on Exante? When I did cambridge I was told I would have to have 4 packs a day because I am about 5'10". I was quite happy with 3 and never wanted the extra I just wondered if this was going to be any different...
Hiya,
I'm looking to start exante to get ready for my wedding. I did the Cambridge diet before and got on really well with it but it looks a little pricy for me now.
How similar are cambridge and exante?
Louise x
Good afternoon,
Hope you are all well. I am currently on cambridge, I did it a couple of years ago to lose about 5 stone but have put a couple on so I am trying to lose about 3.5 now. I have had a good start but I am so blummin miserable!
Even though I am craving carbs I think I might be...
I have heard on here before that because the shakes are nutrient rich if you're previous diet was different and you're not used to it it can lead to you feeling a bit 'queasy' for a few days.
Once you're into it and you've forgotten the first few days it really does get better I promise x
Well done you!
I used to put it in the bin the very second I saw it or quickly stick some washing up liquid on it! I found that if I gave myself a new seconds to think about it I'd be wanting to eat it!
Hello everyone,
I did the Cambridge Diet about 2 years ago. I managed to loose 5 stone.
I moved out of my parents and through having too much fun, not cooking for myself properly and stopping smoking at Christmas I've put on about 3 stone again!
So, I am starting again on Monday but I...
Plastic feet covers?! I've never heard of those before! I've used 'sticky feet' which are like a sticky insole that stick just to the soles of your feel to stop you standing in tanning solution. If you have any gradual tanner in a mousturiser like johnsons or dove thats sometimes good for...
Morning everyone,
Hope your all well,
I am considering moving out (problems with my other half!) and looking to rent a little place of my own. This is only a thought at this stage. At the minute I live in his house, he handles bills and things I just pay him my rent.
I really dont...
I'm a beauty therapist that offers spray tans. Dont worry it doesnt stay like that. Theres quite alot of colour guide in the begining that looks blotchy and powdery.
Dont rinse it off until you've had it on about 8 hours and when you do try not to rub your skin too much with a towel. xx
I can understand where she's coming from, butalso see what you mean.
I love fish and chips but I know that I will have them again one day, just not every week like I used to!
I see what you mean, theres no point in going through all this to eat like we used to but theres not much point...
Thank you all so much for your lovely comments.
I needed a kick up the bum and I am so grateful to you all. I have been on track all day and am going to say this way.
I have weigh in tomorrow so fingers crossed i've lost, If I havent though it will serve me right and will make me try...
I am having a bit of a hard time with things at the moment.
I seem to be having thoughts of 'oh just do ww and loose the rest slowly' The thing is though I like CD when I'm doing it properly and if I did change to another diet I would never see it through and end up putting it all back on...
Ooooo I like it, it looks lovely. Would look fab with black accessories. Esp something like a black fascinator, they do some lovely little feathered ones now. There were loads of people wearing them at the wedding on Sat xx
Awww thank you. Not sure whats going on with me at the minute, I still weigh 14 st odd but people are telling me to stop as I look thin enough! Maybe its just that photo! I've attached another in case!
On a serious note, that dress was a sort of satin one with a silk chiffon over the top...
I wore the Gok Wan ones at the weekend, they were awful! I was wearing them with the dress below.
The pants were so tight I couldnt feel my legs, the dress was a halterneck and the weight of my boobs made it pull on my neck and I wore heels which I never do because of my height so my feet hurt...
Headaches can be a sign that you're not getting enough water, try sipping in through the day. Cold water is quite hard to drink as well so it might be easier to wait for room temperature x
Mine is the chocolate and the chocolate mint, thats all i'm having at the minute. Not sure if its a good idea though as I'm a bit 'bunged' for now iykwim !! (sorry if TMI!)
As everyone else says, just make sure you dont think "oh well its ruined now anyway so I'll just eat more"
Try to remember what your feeling now, the horrible feeling inside your body. Remember how disapointed you were so that next time you go to eat something you know how your going to feel...
Thank you for all your replies.
Maybe its not as bad as I thought, it just seemed so greasy as well!
As for the orange coating, wasnt very nice at all - and I used to eat absolutly anything! Doing CD has sort of made me weary about eating things where I dont know exactly whats in them. I...
I only have weigh in's every two weeks. Its good because if theres any probs with water retention or anything these have usually evened itself out after the two weeks x
I used to be addicted to the porridge! Sort of OD'd on it I think!
I used to add all the water in one go and mix all together with a fork first, stop half way through microwaving and mix again x
I've been doing SS+ since about week 4 and have found it fine. My losses have worked out at about 1 stone every month. Its nice knowing you can have a little something, gives me something to look forward to.
I have a lovely CDC as well which makes doing the diet even better x
Afternoon everyone,
Just had a bit of a disaster. I'm usually really good and dont tend to give in to temptation but something went wrong today.
I've locked myself out the house and OH wont be back until 11.00 tonight - all my packs were at home!
Unsually I'm really hungry, my friend from...
Congratulations! Thats fab, you must feel so great about yourself!!!
Can I be really rude and ask you what sort of dress size you are now? The reason I ask is I am about the same height as you and have had a goal of 12 stone, I just wondered what sort of dress size that might work out to in...
Hi! Yeah, I'm in Kettering, shops are not that great here!
I work on Riverside so can always keep popping over at lunch, that way I wont get worked up that its a 'big' shopping trip if you know what I mean!
I love MK shopping so I will deffo work up to that, decided I'm going to shop 'properly'...
Thank you for your replies, I've always had a fear of clothes shopping! I'm hoping this will change when I get to goal!
I see what you mean by the height thing and it prob wont give anything accurate! I just worry that if I go in a shop and try on a 18 and its too tight I'll get really...
As i'm loosing weight I have no idea what clothes size I am. I worry about trying on different clothes as I dont want to get disheartened.
Does anyone know of a clothing chart to look at? I'm after one where you look at your measurements and read off what clothing size that makes you?
I found...
Evening everyone,
I have been thinking, my dad does this squid thing that he's just said had rocket, pepper and a little herbs and squid. He tells me that squid is good for you. Ive been trying to have a look at the nutritional value online but its not really helping.
Is it correct that...
I did ss for four weeks before I moved on. I'm quite tall and didnt think I was active but I might do more than I thought and SS was really wearing me out.
SS+ helped loads, without it I'm not sure I would have carried on, it really gives me something to look forward to!
If you look at your BMI though you are in the healthy range.
If you loose that extra stone do you think you'll find that easy to maintain? The weight you are now might be more sustainable for the future.
Also have you been for a good clothes show reciently? If you try some different things...
Hiya everyone
We got back on Sunday, it was a disaster!!! People wouldnt stop feeding me!
First night, arrived and had been dished up a bowl of chilli (no rice) didnt like it and couldnt finish it so gave it to OH.
Morning, brekkie = shake
Lunch, they all wanted fish and chips and I...
I can remember a couple of years ago whilst working at a place I hated. I had not long broken up with a bloke i'd been with two years so was pretty down.
I joined WW and was doing really well and was really dedicated. There were christmas chocolates doing the rounds and since I wernt having...
Morning,
Thank you so much for all your replies,
I think your right I should enjoy the weekend just in moderation. I think CD has taught me so far about holding back and being sensible so I will go along with everyone else but in a controlled fashion!
I'm quite looking forward to eating...
I thought about trying to go up the plans for the weekend but I worry it might be a bit difficult as she is doing the cooking for us, she likes to do that you see!
I just didnt want to be looking over her shoulder weighing everything she cooks and looking at labels of everything all the time...
Afternoon everyone,
Only me again with one of my stoopid questions,
This weekend I am going away with my boyf (his birthday Sun), His mum and partner and his sister and partner (not quite sure how all this happened!)
We are going Friday eve and coming back Sunday. His Mum has told me...
Me again,
I finally managed to get to the doctors and have tonsillitis. Its the viral and not the bacterial kind so the only thing she said take was ibroprofen and this throat numbing spray thing. Are you allowed to take ibroprofen on CD?
I also got a free lecture whilst I was there about...
Thank you for all your replys, I had an ss+ meal last night, you do get quite a bit of chicken, my veg looked a bit pathetic though!
Feel better bodywise today, just my throats all swollen and sore, I dont cope being ill, I do feel very sorry for myself!
Hiya,
Thank you for your reply,
It looks like it could be somethin viral, if so it would probably be a good idea to do SS+ to try and help.
What are the losses like of SS+? How different are they to SS?
I have just finished week 4 been going 100% good.
All weekend I have felt terrible, I cant sleep but an so so tired. Every last muscle in my body aches. I am usually one of the first two colours on a ketostix but I have shot up to the darkest one, no less water than normal but have upped it...
Drink as much as you feel like drinking, unless you feel that its way too much and its staggered throughout the day.
The drinking does help the breath, mouthwash and brushing helps too. I sometimes use a breath spray as well.
Dont worry that they think, they soon forget what they smell like...
It is sort of as hard as you make it if that makes sence!
Once your in to it it becomes just the way it is and is a lot easier, the first week or so is hard and you have all the feelings of 'oh I'll just to slimming world' but if you stick to it the rewards far out weigh any difficulty x
I like the smell of certain foods but some not at all! I hate the smell the day after for some reason.
My OH eats lots of onions and garlic, I used to too but if I smell it on him now I cant stand it, even though I probably used to smell the same!
I am a car mechanic and a beauty therapist!
When I left school I completed my apprenticeship and have worked in garages ever since.
When I'm not at full time work I am a beauty therapist.
Afternoon everyone.
This follows on from a worry thread from me the other week and another i've just read.
I just wanted to ask all those successfully maintaining after loosing their weight on the cambridge diet what your daily menu would be like?
A thread ive just read said the lady had...
My CDC is only coming to me every two weeks now, I thought I'd mind as I would have to wait an extra week before finding out how I'd done. I am now quite glad as I'm hoping it will help even out any little losses.
I think I am aiming for a size rather than a weight, I would like to be a size 12-14 but I dont know how much I need to weigh to be that size.
I am trying to leave it open for now so I can see when I get there.
I think thats a really good idea, I would like to do the same but I know what I'm like!!!
I only see my CDC every other week so I'm hoping that it will help with poor losses as I'll have two weeks worth.
They're all different but on my first meeting I had a good talk about everything and asked lots questions. There was a few forms to fill out.
I was weighed and had measurements taken,
Its not too scary! You'll be fine, good luck!
As its your first day your bound to be feeling a bit strange.
The amount you have consumed wouldnt be a problem, has it been well spaced out over those 7 hours?
You can still suffer problems with water if you have too much over too short of a period.
You may usually only drink a small...
Most headaches are caused by dehydration, even when eating 'normal' food, I have been having a glass of water to see if after about 20 mins I feel better. If not I will have a painkiller.
Do you loose the same amount as weight on SS+ as you do SS? I would like to sometimes be able to have a little meal but worry the weight loss will slow down.
The tetras can taste a bit concentrated if your used to the shakes. If your finding the shakes a bit powdery tasting try adding a little more water, I use nearly 300mls of water which seems to do the trick. If like me you live in a hard water area it always seems to affect the way things dissolve.
I'm sure I read somethere that if your already constipated you need to be careful what you take as you end up softening waste higher up which cant go anywhere until the blockage is cleared.
Thank you for your replies, I'll stick at the 4 packs then! Its just because I'm 5ft 11" so she said 4 but I didnt know how important it was.
I thought you needed your doctors signature if you had a BMI over 40? And if its under 40 your CDC writes to your doctor anyway to tell them your...
Afternoon everyone,
I'm into week two and finding everything ok.
One thing I'm having trouble with is getting down my last pack. Its nice to have but I dont need it if you know what I mean, I'm never hungry enough for it and sort of force it down.
Do I really need to have it? If you say...
I didnt really have a cold feeling and as much as I keep asking him my other half says I dont have smelly breath! I do have a horrible taste in my mouth though!
I like the fact that I dont feel hungry, its a nice feeling though rather than the horrible stuffed full feeling.
I suffer from...
Hiya,
Really daft question but did you pee in a pot and dip the stick or did you pee directly on the stick?! If the latter is there any chance you could have missed?!
Also, depending on how hydrated you are can affect the colour of the stick, I used the sticks to help me find out how much...

I understand the maintaining will be hard and require dedication its just that by...
Hiya,
I'm sure you're sick of threads like this but some things have got me a bit worried so I just wanted to talk about them with people who understand.
Now, I know that I see people on here who have lost weight with CD and are now maintaining.
I do worry about maintaining but I figure if...
Thank you for your replies, I tested again later on (i'm like that for some reason!) and it was two colours down, only thing I can think of if I hadnt had much water since.

When I tested I was only at the first pink colour, I think I thought that if you were...
Do whatever it is that helps you, it might seem extreme to some to set up another profile but if that's what you've got to do then its your call.
I've been messed around too many men that I tend to be very untrusting of anyone.
I really hope its not as bad as it seems at first.
Hiya,
I'm on day 5, if you can keep going until ketosis kicks in the feelings great.
Before this week I couldn't last past 9 pm and was constantly tired and irritable because of it.
As soon as ketosis kicked in I felt great, I have more energy not as moody and can watch all those programes...
Ive nearly tried them all now,
I'm not a soup fan when eating normal food but I'm not finding them too bad, I really didnt like the broccoli and cheese but I've managed the others.
I thought choc orange would be one that I love and I cant quite put my finger on it but I dont really like it...
Sounds great! Looking forward to it!
My CDC said no to chewing gum, apparently the chewing on an empty stomach can also leave you feeling a bit queasy.
Hiya, I thought it was you!
I would love to buddy up, it would really help.
I'm not doing too bad, day four today and I'm still at it and havent cheated, looking forward to first weigh in!!!
Sorry to hijack the thread a bit.
I am on day three and I havent felt hungry at all since starting.
I think I have more energy than I did before I started, i'm not sure if my breath smells or not so I dont know whether I'm in ketosis or not. I dont have any sticks yet so I cant check, what...
Hi Lisa,
I'm only new so I'm sure someone more experienced will be along soon.
I was told to cut down on carbs in the days leading up to starting as I think it helps with getting into ketosis.
I am also worried about the bad breath, I am a beauty therapist / nail tech as well as my full time...
I quite like the porridge, its not like the normal porridge you would get but it helps make a nice change from the shakes and soups.
You can add nutmeg to it as well to make it to your taste.
Sorry if this is tmi for some and it really only applies to the ladies!!!
I was just wondering if the TOTM weeks affect the results of your weigh in's and how long it takes to even it out?
I mean say if the planned weight loss is 4 lbs a week will the totm week 2 lbs and the week after 6 lbs...
I havent got any sticks to test with.
Should I get some, what does knowing actually do, just so you know your doing it right?
Sorry for the stupid question, only on day 2, all very new to me!
Morning everyone,
I am on day 2 today.
When I last did a VLCD, nothing as good as Cambridge I suffered from constipation. My CDC told me about fibre89 but I didnt think to get any at the time.
I'm sure I read somewhere that some people used fibresure instead of fibre89. When looking in the...
Today is my day 2 and so far it seems ok. I have had a few moments but I think take it one day at a time and each day is then an achievement.
Theres been loads of food around me and I havent touched any of it and I feel quite proud, I'm trying to hold onto that feeling rather than how terrible...
Thats incredible CeeKay, if you're who I think you are from another forum (beauty related :)) you have been my inspiration to start CD, I think you've done brilliantly! xxx
I see my CDC on the 29th of Dec. I wanted to start after christmas as I dont think my family are too keen on the diet so I dont want to be explaining to them!
I have about 7 stone to loose, I am quite excited about starting.
I'm going to take some FAT pictures to keep looking at so I can see...
