    just wondering

I just try to be consistent, so if I had breakfast before weigh in last week, I'll at least have something this week, even if Im not that hungry because I'll probably want proper breakfast again next Monday! ;) I tend to have more or less the same breakfast most days, though.

Is Anyone Else Becoming A Diet Bore?

I wouldn't dream of making assumptions about people, because dieting can be very hard work, particularly if you aren't aware of the saner option (ie SW) and for some people it just isn't worth it when they know full well they are likely to put it all back on again. And many of them may well be...

    Worlds Best Diet

Oh, the BMI is rubbish, I have a friend who's 6'5" or so and according to BMI he could stand to lose up to 2 stone before he'd be underweight, yet you can literally count his ribs and he actually has a genetic disorder which makes him prone to extreme skinniness as well as being much taller than...

    If we miss a week

Well, you're "allowed" to miss up to 6 weeks per year for holidays/illness and in theory you could use them for days when you didn't feel like it or whatever (after 6 weeks are used up you have to pay for missed weeks). Of course, a lot of people who miss a week or two come back and find they've...

    1st of July Challenge

Oh heck, I haven't posted in ages! Well, two weeks ago I somehow lost 2.5lb, put 2 back on then lost another 2.5 this week, which I think is an overall loss of 1lb (though my brain is frazzled by heat so it could be anything...)

Does anyone else fight a constant battle in their head?

I agree with the suggestion to find ways of making the things you like to make (ok, maybe not the cake too often...) but in a SW-friendly way. E.g. maybe you could make a small batch of dinky wholemeal rolls and challenge yourself to get them as close as possible to 57g each? I made the most...

    Slimming World Cookbooks...

I only have the Food Optimising recipe book, and most of the cheap ones (100 comfort foods/green recipes etc) - the big glossy books look very pretty and all have a slightly rehashed version of How To Do SW which can be kind of handy to have around if you're bored of reading the green/red book...

    Starting SW shopping list

My favourite yoghurt is a good big dollop of natural (fat free) yoghurt, half a teaspoon of granulated splenda and a similar amount of raspberries as yoghurt - ideally frozen raspberries as they half-freeze the yoghurt around them and it's lovely! I try to avoid too much chemical stuff and find...

    Advice needed for weight target

I would say don't worry too much about your ultimate target for now, you don't need to choose just yet, and you may find that a higher or lower weight thank you expect suits you. Average holiday weight gain??

I'd say don't worry about it too much, but the advantage of SW over other diets (I think) is that it's much easier for it to become a habit, so I find that even when I think I've gone wild, when I think harder I realise that I've still focussed mostly on free foods and just gone a bit over on...

Yes, but that's because it's very very stretchy (which is also why if you eat less/more then your stomach can shrink or grow accordingly). By and large, I think it's a good idea to take the free foods very literally (though I agree that it's probably also a good idea to focus mostly on the...

Ikkle's Diary - Glad its all over for another year......

Hi there - glad to see you've gone back on the tablets, I take it they were antidepressants? You have to be incredibly careful coming off them, unfortunately, as the withdrawal can be severe (as you've discovered!!) I am currently coming off venlafaxine (Effexor) and it is horrible stuff. I am...

    Anwen's diary

When I collected DD from school today, she was in a sulk and wanted to go to a friend's house. We ended up going to visit a friend from work and somehow it turned into a sleepover. We had tea there and the girls put in a concerted campaign of PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE...

You want to lose how much more??

I haven't quite had that, but I did have a colleague almost keel over with shock when I told her how much I weigh recently. She had been talking about when she was younger and weighed 11 stone, and doing that thing that thin women sometimes do when describing a fat person - she puffed up her...

    Anwen's diary

*waves* I've been going to SW for three weeks now, have lost 6.5lb so far, aiming for a minimum of half a lb next week to make the first half stone, but trying to work for at least 2lb as my weigh in is on Tuesday, just before Xmas! Mind you, it's my mum's birthday, so I'll probably be full of...

Extra Easy in this Months Magazine!

Thanks, Space Angel! I agree, it would be excellent for Xmas, what a shame. DearFatty - that must be really annoying, I'd email them! In fact, I might email them myself as well, not that I'm a veggie, but it's a shame that veggies are feeling left out.

Extra Easy in this Months Magazine!

I think I'll mostly continue with mainly red days, but I like the sound of this new thingy for days like Xmas where it'd be great to be able to have mash with my roast without having to syn it... I've got the magazine, and it looks good but I'm wary.

    Third weigh in tomorrow...

Hi all, thanks for the replies! Well, I lost another half pound, yay! Have come home to a slow cooker full of tasty beef and lentil stew and had some brown bread and butter with it, yum. Tomorrow morning I'll be having a sausage and bacon sandwich as DD's at my mum's tonight so I have a bit more...

Ooh, will give that recipe a go, thanks! Have lost half a pound, after the week I had I'm dead chuffed!

    Ba ba ba, ba...

I try to have my two HEa thingies most days, as apparently calcium's good for weight loss. Haven't had the babybels, should probably get some, as I usually end up with half a block of cheese looking sad in the fridge as I don't always want to bother grating it every day...

Club 10 - Come and join the club if your working towards it!

Half a pound off today, so am now exactly a stone away from Club 10! If I can get at least another half lb off next week, I'll have done my first half stone :D

    Green Tea?

Not sure about antioxidants, but it's quite nice and uplifting. Tastes lovely with a splenda tablet thingy in it, yum! It's a bit tastier than peppermint tea, I think, i.e. you don't need as much sugar/sweetener for it to taste of something. Peppermint and spearmint are both good for stomach...

    Depot Injection and weightloss...

By the way, I have a coil and it is my favourite thing! It wasn't nice having it installed, but not horrendous, either, and I have had it for seven years with no trouble apart from the odd heavier period.

    Green Tea?

Hi, I have fibromyalgia and can't stand green tea, but what I do like (and which is meant to be good for fibro) is spearmint tea - meant to encourage better balance of hormones or something, which is good for fibro. It's difficult to get in bags (unless you want it mixed with chamomile, blee!!)...

newbies oldies 12 week challenge anyone

I'll aim for 16lb, I think. Christmas shouldn't be too much trouble, I think, my daughter's going to stay with her dad in Denmark for a week, and I'll be at my boyfriend's on Xmas day, doing the cooking (his kitchen's nicer than mine!) Am more worried about Chanukah, really, mmm, doughnuts and...

    Depot Injection and weightloss...

Depo is nasty stuff, and hormonal contraception causes a LOT of people to gain weight, and can even trigger insulin resistance (which it's suspected most overweight people have anyway).

Club 10 - Come and join the club if your working towards it!

I think my Club 10 will be 12st 7.5lb, if my maths hasn't completely deserted me...

    Third weigh in tomorrow...

Hi all, I've just joined the site and thought I'd say hello. I joined SW three weeks ago, had a v good first week (6lb off, hurray!) this week's been less good, though I've had a stinking cold and have also been on my period for three weeks solid, so haven't really been in the mood for sensible...
