Spain free and low syn foods.

My waistline has brought me back to my lovely Minimins. ¡Buenos días a todos otra vez! But reading up on this thread - who can afford fresh rasps and blueberries? They're 2-3 euros a small packet in my Carrefour :sigh:
  2. H

Can you eat too many eggs?

Not on my hips. But they did have an effect on my relationship with my white porcelain pal in the bathroom. When I had eggs everyday, I went about twice a week. Now I´m on once a day. It´s more difficult - they were my breakfast - but I feel better for it. It didn't stop my WL having eggs every...

It's 0% fat and sugars, so I presumed so. To be honest, I was too busy scoffing to see  I'll check properly

My Carrefour now stocks Strawberry Quark and Vanilla Quark. I bought a wee pot of the fresa and thought I´d try a mouthful - it´s all gone  Absolutely scrummy

Oh sorry. The main ingredient is pork - think this might have to be a flexi syn day!

    Exercise/nutrition advise pls

I've just fell into the "I'm exercising, therefore this crisp/choccie/beer doesn't count" trap and I'm 2lbs heavier  But I'm going to keep up with the exercise but it's back to good old SW regime. It's the only way

Had an undeserved gain - Gutted & demotivated

There could be loads of reasons for that sneaky half-pound - water, TOTM, and the big poo (I liked that one!). Glad you're back on track. Next week will be better!

    SW chips

Am I the only one who gets a bit . . . emm . . . windy after eating these :ashamed0005:? The other day, it was terrible! And I love them!!!

That sounds lovely! Off to get proper beetroot as I've avoided it for the syns (why waste syns on food when there's beer to be had :p)

    How goes is WI day

Weigh-in day is the day you can wipe away all the syns of the past and start again with a clean sheet. I no longer have to feel bad about that extra beer on Thursday night. If only life was that simple :sigh: Oops - that title should say How Good Is WI Day! He Who Thinks He's Boss was putting...

    How the weight goes on

My bottom is well and truly sore now from these kickings! And it's worked - 1.5lbs off this week. So turn around everyone, it's your turn now . . . :D

    syns for beer in spain

Becks non-alcohol lager is lovely and around 3 syns a bottle, I think. You can get it in Carrefour too, but a tad pricey. Carrefour's own good by its own?

Reached one of my goals today

I remember when I first got into "normal" jeans - and I didn't even have to lie on the bed and use the hangy part of a coat hanger to pull the zip up. It´s such a great feeling! Huge congratulations to you, hun. Well done xx

    Spain fruit and vegetables.

Mercadona has oranges for something silly like 89c a kilo - and they are gorgeous. Juicy and bursting with flavour
  20. H

Spain free and low syn foods.

That fruit stall is incredible! Our local markets aren't much cop above the usual fruit - and the price of blueberries, which I adore, is ridiculous. So I gorge myself when I go home (Morrison's loves me!). How can I get Iceland to open here?

Spain - Chit-chat, grump or whatever else takes your fancy

Just Googled and had never noticed the road down to Torre! Was thinking Valencia and then down. And then for some reason I added on for Almeria! (CSE Grade 3 Geography - and the teacher thought I was lucky to get that!) Still to far for a cuddle, tho!

Spain free and low syn foods.

Isn't strawberry season just fantastic. I've just had a huge bowl of fresones chopped up with an apple and orange. What a gorgeous breakfast! It drives me crazy when I want strawberries in July and can't get them, but they're well worth the wait :)

want to binge after a compliment

One of the club too! Why? Why do we find it so hard to take that compliment? Worse, why do we eat so people don't notice us anymore? Any therapists out there? :) So glad to know I'm not the only one. Now to get the strategies out so we don't continue . . .

    I want to cry

There's not much I can say, but I wanted to send a virtual hug and congratulate you on what you've lost up to now. That will be a big help in aiding your recovery, I'm sure. But weight isn't important at the minute - getting better is. Don't go overboard - you've shown you have the willpower -...

    How the weight goes on

The last few weeks have been extremely stressful what with one thing or another, finished off with my birthday (not stressful, but very drink and food-filled ;)) but it's been useful. I've realised that little by little, I've changed my attitude to what's shown on the scales - and it's not...
  30. H

    manipulation

My biggest "delight" was when I got down to a weight I liked and my mum told me I was too skinny. I put on 2lbs and she prodded my belly and told me I was getting fat. TWO POUNDS. Is it any wonder I have issues with my weight!
  31. H

Spain free and low syn foods.

Todo bien - it's the start of strawberry season. How can you not love being in Spain when the fresas are out? Never tried them with the queso but it sounds fabulous. If anyone's in the Madrid area, the English food hall has quorn products and WW. Bit pricey, tho
  32. H

Before and after - even i have to admit the difference!

Thanks for the Mexican rice - I've been counting them as free on Green  But fillymum is wrong - the lemon tart yoghurt rocks the socks off the caramelized apple :rotflmao: And I'm glad I'm not the only one digging into two a day. Good call on the Lidl "ryvita" too. It goes a little soggy...

    Constipation.......

Me and my white marble friend hardly speak when I'm on SW and before we used to "converse" every day. Someone told me about red tea last time I did SW and that helped. Much nicer than the alternatives too!
  35. H

I can't get back into it

Aaaargh! Despite some cracking tips (thanks Fillymum), I just can't get myself going to start again and get down to my new target weight. I'm 4lbs over what I managed a year and a half ago and it feels a lot (I have Auntie Flo here too) and I'd really like to get back to what I was and then a...

  37. H

    Arrrggghhhhh!!!!!

Stay off the scales until WI - trust me, I'm an ex-addict and would have eaten while standing in the scales if possible. Scales are poison. Only your group's scales are good! Are you sure you're actually eating enough? I was similar to you my first week and the Wise Women here looked at what...

    Thursday Weighers

Great losses everyone - and never mind, Roxy. There are lots of reasons why a half-pound can go on. Good luck for next week when I'm sure he and lots of his pals will have vanished! -2lbs for me (but last week was Auntie Flo so I don't think the loss was really that great) x
  39. H

    Living with parents

Explain to your mum that this is important to you and you need her support. But also, remember, you're 19 - you can marry, have kids, vote, drive and do SW if you want.
  40. H

    oooh a shock

Trust me, it'll be gone in no time. But like the Wise Women say - don't see it as 54lbs, rather one pound at a time. Set yourself mini-goals - 7lbs or a dress size - and then go for another one. Every pound you lose will be better for you. Howay, bonny lass, ye can dae it!
  41. H

    Now I beleive!!! (pics!!)

You look fantastic - and what a role model for your little girl. Well done!
  42. H

    Thursday Weighers

1.5lbs on for me - but with Auntie Flo arriving today and my cold (where I devoured syns as if they were going out of fashion), I'm okay with that. Good luck all you other Thursday weighers! Here's to joining you all in losses next week. xx
  43. H

I thought you were supposed to feel hungry on a diet???!!!

My favourite part of the SW diet is when He Who Thinks He's Boss says: "Are you eating again?" He is still flabbergasted that you can lose weight and eat so much
  44. H

One Year Ago today!! Pics inside!

I was ready to say well done after the first pics. You look amazing in all of them - tho I do love the new blonde do. Well done on maintaining - that´s the hardest part.
  45. H

    Not fair

So I weigh myself on Thursday and get all ready to start SW properly (altho I think my syns for champers and choccies on NYE take me into next month ;)) and then I get a  and all I want to do is eat. Eat bad food. Synful food :( Oh well. Here's to the scales for when I get better :needhug:
  46. H

So ashamed - and quick loss question

Be proud that you went to WI and that you're doing something about your weight. That's what counts. So many people shy away from WI when they think they've gained or STS, but what's the point of that? I sometimes think that going to a diet group is like a form of rehab, like AA, and no-one would...

Whoo-hoo indeed! Huge well done x

Original I feel like the Hulk!!

Oh Cc, hun, you're not the "token fat person"; you're The Friend who's out with people who love her and want to share this special night with her. That's it. Be the person you are. Sod anyone who thinks looks are more important than anything else - how pathetic are they? For years I was the...

    That "only half-a-pound"

Oh to be that poor "half-a-pound loss" that everyone seems to despise :sigh:. Go to the supermarket and pick up a pack of butter - that's what you've lost. Imagine it spread all over your stomach. Not nice, huh? But now it's gone, never to come back, and how much better is that? I once lost a...

    Thursday Weighers

Weighed myself this morning and haven't put on anything since last time - or rather, I've managed to lose what I did put on because my clothes were a little tighter then :p Well done all losers, STSers and even those who gained. Going to class and seeing the damage is one of the hardest things...

    Are you doing SW abroad?

Thanks, both of you - and I will be PMing you Sue (huge well done, btw). I did SW a couple of years ago and got to goal but I was just interested in how other people from other countries managed it too.
  52. H

    I did it!!

That's fabulous news, Helen. What a great way to go into the New Year.
  53. H

    HELP - cant stop eating!!!

Well done you on facing the fear and doing it anyway. Quite often, not knowing the damage is more damaging - you think "Oh well what the hell" and keep doing more. Now you can start again. I think your attitude is admirable. Good luck for the first WI of 2011
  54. H

    Are you doing SW abroad?

Is there anyone else doing SW who doesn't live in the UK? I'm in Madrid and I'd like to know how you get around some of the problems I've found - like not having the same products or food not having correct labelling on etc. It's not impossible to do SW from abroad, but it is difficult. Any tips?
  55. H

    Original Starting over

I wasn't around then but "welcome back". So good to hear your treatment went well. I have no doubt such a positive attitude will help you with your SW journey.
  56. H

    I'm back!

And about 3lbs over my 2009 target, which I'm not too upset about (altho' it is 7lbs over my other target). But I want to get back on track and so it's time to turn to my Wise Women (and Men) at Minimins. I know many of you are new since I was here so I look forward to reading your stories and...

Hi - Old Member but going alone this time!

I'm back too and have no choice but to go it alone! Well done on the 2.5lbs. Hope my first week goes so well.

my boyf said i eat too much

It's great when people watch how much you're eating and then see how slim you've become! Love it!
  59. H

  64. H

    I feel REPULSED

Disgusted? Repulsed? Throw those words away now, sweetie. We all have those saggy moments. What you are doing is fabulous - you're looking after your body and taking action. That is worth 1,000 well dones. We can't undo the past, we can only move forward. And it's those that do it - like you -...

    My bad relationship with food

Thank you, everyone. The Wise Women of Minimins help once more! ;) In a way, I'm glad I've had that shock as it's really made me sit up and think. I've had ten years more than you, CP, of being completely messed up with food and I know it'll not go overnight - sadly:rolleyes:. Step by step...

    My bad relationship with food

I was watching Supersize Superskinny last night and not only did I NOT find the skinny terribly skinny, I was nodding when she said she could never eat ice cream because she found herself counting the calories. I do this constantly (with syns, obviously). And it got me thinking about my...

    Friday weighers

Two months or two years - it's off, and that's all that matters. Well done. A kg (2.2lbs) on for me. Star week due to start on Monday, so think it could be that. Or my scales finally need a new battery

    Anything negative about weight loss?

I miss my boobs. They weren't very much to begin with, but they were there. Now I look like a boy!
  72. H

nervous about having sins!! how daft?

The thing is, lots of people on here swear that by using syns, their weight loss actually increases. I use just abou all mine (usually at the weekend - bad girl!) but like to leave myself with about 10 syns free come WI. So I aim for 60 rather than 70, that way I know I have something to play...

I need lot's of help please

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Please, don't go through this alone. Go see a bereavement counsellor and talk through your feelings. You must be feeling so raw at the moment. Look after yourself xx
  78. H

    Running?

:D:D:D Thanks all. Not sure about the bra, tho. Since doing SW I have no boobs anymore!!!!!:flirt2: Great plan. I'm aiming on a 10k at the end of the year, so here's planning (and downloading podcasts!)
  79. H

    OMG!! Totally blown it!

Everyone has had bad weekends (mine's just gone!!) but I've found the most successful slimmers are those who 'fess up to their failings and still go to WI. You've probably done very little damage anyway and this way, you acknowledge what you have done and take responsibility for it and then move...

    Running?

I am sooooo unfit but would like to start running. Has anyone tried? What advice would you give? How should I get started? I am seriously unfit!!!!! Please, any advice from runners (esp. those who were as unfit as I am) would be greatly appreciated. xx

    Friday weighers

1.75lbs gone for me - including a very bad night last Saturday :D
  82. H

Why rush to lose the weight?

I don't know, I just look at chocolate and I've put a pound on so the weight took no time to attach itself to my hips! But you're so right. Last year, I had an ephiphany after only losing 100g in a week (a quarter of a pound). I was in the shower when it suddenly hit me that I'd LOST weight. I...
  83. H

How much did every1 lose on there 1st week at sw

I lost nothing - because I didn't think I could eat so much food and lose weight so I didn't eat so much food. Thank goodness for the Wise Women - and Men - of Minimins who put me right!

That is fabulous news! Well done you!
  91. H

    WI tomorrow- question

Sadly, I'm with the "you'll weigh more" brigade - BUT don't let that stop you. Next week, you'll see the effects of both weeks. So you have one bad weigh-in. Big deal. The aim of SW is to eat healthily but still have the odd treat. It's getting right back on plan afterwards that counts (altho I...

    What a shocker - weigh in 19 march 2010

A great loss whatever you've done the second week. Well done!

  94. H

Just want to say thanks to everyone and goodbye :(

I'm with Starlight - Minimins needs you. That doesn't mean you have to keep on with the diet.
  95. H

    I'm back

Despite efforts (half-hearted, I admit) my weight is slowly coming back - so I've realised I need you guys! I'm now half a pound over my original target and 4.5 pounds over my second :( Time for action before it gets too late. Please help :(
  96. H

    First week sabotaged!

I've got a stinking cold and can't get my Olivo (Frylight equivalent here in Spain) nor out to the faraway shops that sell Quark (and it's not as creamy as the UK ) Feeling bad, eating choccie and sniffing. Yup, a first week back on plan couldn't get worse. Hopefully, it'll go this weekend...

  104. H

Got to original 'Target' but now confused!

First of all, a belated but heart-felt huge well done on getting to your target. You should be so proud of yourself. I was like you - set a target and then thought: "hmmmm". Now I'm hovering just a few pounds (give or take) below my original target and you know what? My original target now...

Help - I'm frightened to eat.

I ate hardly anything when I first started and lost nothing. Only by following the wise women (and men) on this site did I start eating and losing. Trust the plan. Trust the Miniminners. Eat. One of He Who Thinks He's Boss's favourite sayings was/is: "Are you eating again?" and yup, I was -...
  108. H

    Staying at target

Hello all. Sorry I haven't been around for a while but it seems the losses are as good as ever! I've been at target for a few months now and seem to be keeping at it. I'm hovering around my ideal weight - 8st 10lbs - and any gains seem to have gone when I've gone back to normal eating, which is...
  109. H

should i lay off it today?

I agree, listen to your body. If your muscles are tired then exercising them will just do damage to them. Also, apparently (says He Who Thinks He's Boss, who was into exercise and weight training in his younger days) you have to give your body one day off a week when exercising. Me, I like to...
  110. H

    I got to TARGET!!!!!

That is wonderful news! Huge congratulations! xx

    MONDAY weighers

Don't eat cake! And fingers, toes and eyes crossed for Vodkamonster Two pounds for me, losing all my holiday gain (three weeks ago!) and getting down to the weight I really wanted to be!
  112. H

HELP!!! 5 mths of no cheating, just had mother of all blowouts!

Echoing all the "one binge in five months is great" remarks. You've done wonderful. I do agree with Charlotte that you should try and incorporate some treats in your regular eating plan, though. Remember, we're taking control of food, not letting it control us. You've shown you have the...

I think I must be at target!

I'm a "no go" on green days too! At least it's a Sunday so you can take the Sunday papers in with you :-)

I WILL get back on track

My bum is aching! Thank you all so much. We're buying good scales tomorrow so I can weigh myself properly and go to the supermarket and get myself stocked up. Will report back ... when I can sit down again. Thank you all xx

Thinking of you, Natt. Great to see you're able to take a lighter look at it. Well done. Fingers and toes all crossed for you xx
  120. H

    Who else is struggling?

I was "back on track" on Monday after my holidays - except Monday became Wednesday and the wine was calling my name last night. Thing is, I don't mind doing SW. I don't even see it as a diet. So why the want to nibble when I haven't for the last seven months? Grrrr!
  121. H

    Have i lost 1.5 stones?

    A great achievement. Well done!
  122. H

    A story to inspire you?

I'm grinning like a loon for you. That is such a lovely story. Thank you for sharing it. That is definitely my best part.
  123. H

    My body is sabotaging me!

Just back from holiday and want to lose the few pounds added . . . and I've got some bug that's making me stay in bed and just want to eat. Feel so exhausted it's all I can do to minimin :(
  124. H

    Feel really disheartened

Ten pounds is ten pounds, no matter how long it took to get off (and 11 weeks is good. I averaged about half a pound a week and regularly cursed all the 3/4/5lbers a week lol). So give yourself a huge pat on the back for that. You deserve it. Secondly, put the scales away. He Who Thinks He's...
  125. H

    Went to the docs...

Good luck tonight. And don't knock the "just one pound" - it wouldn't be "just" if it went on instead of came off! You've still done a great job with "just one pound"
  126. H

    Need a rant about food.

Fern, after seeing your photos I have no doubt you'll be fabulous on Sunday. They'll have to be something special to look as good as you and achieve what you've achieved. I'm sorry, but as a Geordie, what exactly is that meant to mean? All the buffets I've been to in Newcastle and around that...
  127. H

    pickys..

You look utterly incredible. Not only slimmer, but you look years younger too. What you have done is an amazing achievement. A huge well done xx
  128. H

    Back from hols

I had a lovely time, Judi. And today, I've had choccie, choccie ice cream, crisps and wine to finish off in style. Strange thing is, I don't see tomorrow as "back on the diet", more just "back to healthier eating". Can't believe how easily that choccie ice cream went down . . .
  129. H

    Back from hols

And three pounds on in a week  It was all that bread (not to mention the choccie mousse, wine, cider - Spanish cider rocks - beer, lovely jacket potatoes smothered with garlickly mayo). Today last day as fridge is empty and Spanish supermarkets are closed on Sunday so will be shopping...
  130. H

    When do you stop?

I never thought about the maintainance part. Thank you both so much! xx
  131. H

    Weigh in week 2

Huge well done - you're doing great. There are several of us half-pounders on here. Remember, so long as those scales keep going in the right direction then that's all that counts. It's your weight loss journey, nobody else's. Here's to another good week. xx
  132. H

    When do you stop?

My first goal - the one in the stats at the side - was to get to 9stone. Then I really wanted to be 8stone 10lbs, my dream weight ever since I first went to WW back in 1996!!! (And this is the first time I've ever gotten there :D) Now that I'm 8stone 9lbs, I'm thinking: Hmmm, 8stone 7lbs isn't...
  133. H

    Monday Weighers

I sts at 55kg, so very pleased as I'd lost all control of syns! Well done, Jill! Good luck to all the Monday weighers xx
  134. H

    pictures

You look great! Love the holiday pics
  135. H

O/T Have to say goodbye to our little dog Kelly tomorrow....feel so upset

I don't think they leave them alone when they're in for medical reasons. And apart from that, I have nothing to say but send big hugs. And also to say, you are doing the right thing if Kelly is ill and in pain. It's horrible and difficult to think about, but it is the best thing to do for her...
  136. H

    Day 61 - Hiccup

That's not a hiccup - it's a controlled eating plan! And it sounded lurrrvely
  137. H

    gutted

My average weight loss has been 0.75lbs a week so I know what you mean. But don't be downhearted - slowly and surely means longer lasting. xx
  138. H

    I Gained a Stone in a Day!

He Who Thinks He's Boss broke our scales and when I stepped on them, I'd put on 80lbs!!!!!!!!! Squiddie, you show such determination that I know this won't put you back at all. Two stone is still an incredible amount (if you were famous, you'd be in the Daily Mail!) and it will only be a short...
  139. H

    What shall I do?

Now my modern scales are broken, it's back to the whirly-wheel one and I can't tell how accurate it is. OH says it's "more or less", which means I've more or less lost 2.5lbs, which I don't believe in a million years. Shall I trust them until I get new scales?
  140. H

What do I dislike about my OH? This!

When He Who Thinks He's Boss was weighing everything in sight the other day and wearing out the battery so I couldn't weigh myself on my normal day, he managed to break the scales. I've just stepped on them and gained practically 80lbs in one week  Now I have to go back to old faithful (one...
  141. H

    Monday weigh ins

Mrs V - 1lb is also excellent. Less of that downer Well done all! Love my fellow Monday weighers . . . except this week, He Who Thinks He's Boss used up the battery in the scales weighing the cats, then himself, then himself carrying pillows (I'm not kidding) so this week, I'm a Tuesday weigher.
  142. H

    nn89's 1.5st on pics!

PS You seem to have lost your head . . . one of those nights out, eh???? :D:D:D
  143. H

    nn89's 1.5st on pics!

When you look that good, you can camwhore all you like. Fab pic x
  144. H

    Not such a wee wee!

Now you're all just taking the . . . lol!!!! Glad it's not just me!
  145. H

    Only 5 syns!!!!!

Wish we could get them over here . . . might have a search of the "british" shops
  146. H

    Not such a wee wee!

Don't ask me why I did this - I'm not even sure myself :D - but I weighed myself before and after having a pee the other day and there was 200g difference. That's almost half a pound!
  147. H

    Half a pound

It's taken me forever to lose my stone too. But rather slowly than not at all. Good luck with the WI! Don't forget to take your bracelet off before you step on the scales!!
  148. H

    over the frikkin moon

    That is fabulous. :happy096:
  149. H

Can someone syn my dinner please

OHMYGOD - it was some sort of pasta thing. Notice I said "was". Not having that. Nightmare. Thank you x

That is wonderful news. Well done :happy096::happy096::happy096:
  153. H

    Monday Weighers

I always said Monday WIers were the best! And six stone - that's incredible. Some great losses here. Well done all
  154. H

I had my check up scan today x :(

Hey Tracie, a big hug from me. You and your OH must take all the time you need to grieve. Don't rush things and don't feel anything other than "this is normal" if you burst into tears. xx
  155. H

    My Birthday.... ! ! !

I've been 39 for years now . . . Have a great time and congratulations on the weight loss x
  156. H

    Monday Weighers

Natt, that is truly amazing. A huge well done to you and to Kelly. Three pounds is a fabulous loss. A mere two-thirds of a pound (I do kilograms, so it's easier to see!) for me - and have been sneaking on the scales when I shouldn't so know yesterday it was a full pound. Serves me right for...
  157. H

    Thinking of lowering my target...

Wise choice. You don't want to sweat it to get to goal, only to then lower goal again and again. Try a couple of pounds, see how you feel and then decide. I have no doubt you will make the wisest choice. x
  158. H

    Warning: food porn

If there are no calories printed on a label, doesn't that mean it's syn-free?
  159. H

Stopped losing weight on SW because........

I'm keeping everything crossed for you, Claire. Congratulations on both your weight loss (2 stone is wonderful) and your wonderful, wonderful discovery xx
  160. H

    Congratulations to Phil and family...

Oh Phil, that's lovely news. A big congratulations on the safe birth of your little one
  161. H

    Thinking of lowering my target...

My question exactly. Remember, if you're tall, a size 10/12 might be where you're at and a 10 could be too much.
  162. H

    Is that normal?

Sabina, your English is great! Don't worry about that. Sometimes our body just gets stuck for a while and then starts losing again. I'm with cocktailprincess - keep with the 10 syns a day and I'm sure you'll start losing soon. Hope you enjoyed your swim. xx
  163. H

    why oh why

One thing doing yoga has taught me - along with all the wise bods on this forum - is that you have to do things when you're ready and follow your own path. I know it sounds wanky, but it's true. It sounds as if now is not your time for dieting and all you're doing is beating yourself up. Me and...
  164. H

Just taken a photo of myself....

A huge ditto from me. You look incredible - very sexy! In the words of Rachel Zoe: "You are shutting it down!"
  165. H

lost half a stone in a week

That is brilliant! Well done you.

I'm in a rut - give me food suggestions

My side piece is my mini-target. Now need to lose 2lbs to get to my real target - and these are the hardest 2lbs in the world!!!!!! Food diary sounds good. Seeing it written down will show me how I'm doing. Also going to have a neb at the others . . .
  171. H

I'm in a rut - give me food suggestions

He Who Thinks He's Boss had a real go at me last night saying my diet was terrible and I've realised he's right. I'm always eating the same thing. Lunch is Ryvita, Quark and ham/turkey on a red (invariably followed by chicken that night) or it's potato and quark and sweetcorn (or chips and quark...

    Monday weighers

Great news, Julia. Well done! I've STS after all - just checked and thought I'd lost but haven't. Oh well!
  173. H

    Monday weighers

Just the half-pound for me and very envious of you two! Well done.
  174. H

    really bad news guys...:(

Oh Tracie, I'm so sorry to hear that. Big hugs to you both from me.
  175. H

    What have you lost?

I'm a turkey and proud of it!
  176. H

    3 Massive Milestones Achieved!!!

You have done an absolutely incredible job and should be so proud of yourself - we're so proud of you!
  177. H

    Where's Annie?

She was doing so well and then vanished - does anyone know how she's doing? Annie, if you see this, I hope you're keeping well and still doing so good. xx
  178. H

    WOOHOOO.....MY BMI!!

Kerry, that is fabulous news! I'm sitting here grinning and telling my husband how happy I am for you. You've done so well and inspired so many WELL DONE!!!!!
  179. H

Hungry - And i know why!

It is a lightbulb moment, tho, isn't it - when you realise that it's not quantity of food but quality of food. You think "oh, I've had a huge lunch" but it's just empty calories that don't fill you up. Great that you've figured it out so early - took me weeks to realise I could eat lots of the...
  180. H

    Got to tell someone!

Congratulations! Lovely news to start Monday
  181. H

Do you ever feel like your not getting anywhere?

Clothes are weird. I have jeans that fit when I put them on and then are baggy after a couple of hours. They're the ones that "fitted" before I lost weight . . . but now I realise how they fit AND I can sit down. A major plus in an office job :D My weight goes off my top half first ()...
  182. H

    Feeling rubbish...

Huge big congratulations on your Masters and on fighting back. Big hugs for the rest of your news. Can't you poison the neighbour? Certainly sue the bollocks off him!
  183. H

    Got measured at bravissimo today!

Do bras vary from make to make like clothes do?
  184. H

YES YES YES OH YES What a result !!

Surviving Disney and now this . . . can life get better! Well done!
  185. H

    Syn Fear

Actually, I'm more concerned by the fact your goal BMI is 17.5. Models at Madrid fashion week have to have a minimum of 18, the lowest recommended by health authorities. Be careful, OK? As for syns - use them! But I'd avoid choccie and the likes until you know you can control them. And I say...
  186. H

    Am i back in control?

    That is awesome willpower!
  187. H

6 and a half pounds, YYIPPEEEEEE!!!!

That is a wonderful loss and a great lesson to all those who get down because one week isn't so great! Well done you! You must be grinning like a loon :D
  188. H

I have found the perfect way to loose weight...

Ooooh, you poor thing. Hope it gets sorted soon. And hope you don't mind that I think this is one way of losing weight I'll give a miss to!
  189. H

    ...hmm :(

OK, how close were you to giving up because you stepped on the scales every day and saw "nothing"? Keep off the scales and just weigh yourself once a week. I used to be a scale-junkie and know exactly how it goes: weigh yourself, nothing gone, starve yourself; weigh yourself, nothing, starve...
  190. H

    STS

You're mini-goal is a little unrealistic. The docs tell us to lose 1-2lbs a week so you're aiming high for after that first spirt. But . . . it's still early days so don't worry about an STS (esp. after two days of enjoying yourself - well done for getting back on plan so quickly). Lots of us...
  191. H

    kick my ass

Kerry, she's a Geordie - we know no such things as "padded" jackets etc! Short sleeves all the way. (And I married a Scot too! Very handsome!!) Nic, half-a-pound is a bloody annoyance, but that's all. You can get over it (carrot cake or not - mmmm, love carrot cake!) and get back to your losing...
  192. H

Yes I got my 4 stone award

:0clapper::0clapper::0clapper: An incredible achievement. Well done!
  193. H

Thank you - And You Were all Right!

That's the spirit we like on this board! Facing the good and the not-so-good. It's always better to know, then you can start fighting.
  194. H

    Starbucks Dark Berry Mocha Frappuchino...

Sounds lovely - hope you licked the cup out too!
  195. H

How many syns is a lick of Daniel Craig? Yum

Now if they were Johnny Depp I'd be in serious trouble. Can you get frostbite of the tongue?
  196. H

I've lost absolutely nothing this week!

Step avay from ze scales :D(OK, that only really works if you've seen Young Frankenstein:p). I was also a daily weigher and trust me, that way misery lies. How long before you just give up because you've not lost any weight for five/ten/twelve days? Thing is, it's often on that 14th day that the...

    struggling

Plan some choccie into your day with your syns. There's no need to miss anything on SW - and if you miss something, you'll OD on it when you do have it. I used to love CurlyWurlys and Taz bars - just enough to take the edge of any craving. Or have you tried Choccie options with quark? V. low...
  199. H

    Sooo pleased .....

    Well done!
  200. H

    Oh dear! lol

A friend has been staying with us over the weekend and it's the last time we'll get to see her in a long while - so cue lots of wine, nibbles, gorgeous meal with (shared ) ultra-choccie dessert, cava . . . And four pound on! Mind you, AF is due to visit today so I think she's...
  201. H

    Warning: Long Rant

Damn right it's just a minor blip! You can get back on the wagon no problem. And a belated :birthday: PS. Love the "love grips" :D
  202. H

I'm Back and Survived Disney !

That was a brilliant travelogue, Phil! Sounds fabulous - and with a 2.5lb payoff. It's a brave parent who takes his kid to Disney! Brilliant thread!
  203. H

    BUZZIN!!! Need to share...

What a great way to start Friday. Well done - what an achievement!
  204. H

    Caxton Pink n Whites

    what are they?
  205. H

    worried about dinner tonight

Always happy to be corrected, Jez!
  206. H

    worried about dinner tonight

Jezebel, I'm not sure if that's right. 100g and 28g are tiny! Your average mini-cheesecake is over 100g - so you're talking 4 times more than the syns you've given. A deep pan pizza can have 15 syns in one slice. (And I'm sure there's threads on here with scary numbers for pizzas). I'm always...
  207. H

    This is ok, right ???

How can you be starving on a red day? I nibble on ham and chicken and crab sticks all day long. It's my favourite! No idea about EE, sorry! But your dinner sounds lovely!
  208. H

    Suggested free breakfasts

Fruit for me most days. A big bowl usually with a mango as it's base as it feels very fibrous and filling. Omelette and grilled tomatoes - yummy. Or bacon and eggs on a red day (Spanish lomo as bacon here is 99% fat and 1% meat. Damned Oscar Mayer). Still yummy. Beans on a green day with...
  209. H

    Ritz crackers

    Bloody hell! Thanks Kristen x
  210. H

    Ritz crackers

Anyone know how many syns in 5 please? x
  211. H

    Please help!!!!

You star. Thank you for such a quick response! Feel a bit sick now, tho :9529:
  212. H

    Please help!!!!

Cherries (fresh) - are they synned? I´ve had about 300lbs in the last two days :ashamed0005:
  213. H

    This weeks Weigh In

What an achievement. Well done! Fingers crossed for next week.
  214. H

    Ive been found out !!

That's so great - and I'm sure you'll get your half pound (if not more) today. Good luck! x
  215. H

    Disappointing 1st weigh in

Am I really reading that someone is upset with a 2lb loss? And then another with a 4.5lb loss? ANY loss is to be cheered!!!! You're now lighter than you were last week. The most I - and several others - have ever lost in a week is 2lbs. I average about 0.75lb. I don't care. The scales are going...
  216. H

    My doctors appointment

You could turn the gallstones into a little rattle . . . Well done on the weight loss and good luck
  217. H

maintaining week 1 - not a great start

There could be lots of reasons you've weighed heavier this week. Altho' I have to admit, green days don't do it for me, either. And EE and Mix2Match etc are too complicated!!!! It's bound to take a little readjusting. Don't worry. You'll work it out.
  218. H

    Please help me :-(

I understand exactly how your dad is making you feel. Once somebody says "you'll never manage it", it puts that little seed of doubt into your mind and you start working towards never managing it. Well, after reading several of your posts over the last few months, I can hand on heart say you...
  219. H

    A baaaad week...again.

You said it yourself - you've "resigned" yourself to having another bad week. As soon as we say this, we start on the "I'll start again on . . ." routine. Never works for me, to be honest. You're here and you're asking for support. Brilliant - that shows you haven't "resigned" yourself...
  220. H

    It's all gone to pot

I'm with Chuffy. You've done amazingly well to just have one slip. Give yourself a pat on the back and stop criticising yourself. AF is not a "slip", it's something we women can't help and have to take into account with our weight loss (you guys don't know how lucky you are ;)). And if you...
  221. H

    some pooey problems

I find peppermint tea to be great in this issue. Also, the odd "normal" meal helps things along lots too. It's worth the slight slowdown in weight loss.
  222. H

    hey....

Well done you! It'll be worth it at the weigh in! xx
  223. H

    MEN!

Eating all the ryvita is grounds for divorce in some countries
  224. H

    is this right?

You have too much time on your hands :D;)
  225. H

Why isn't it working for me? :(

Where are your vegetables? I see some salad, but carrots, cabbage etc? I adore fruit but I have to watch that I don't OD on it because a lot is full of water which I just retain. Veg adds bulk, making you feel fuller. Your diet doesn't seem to vary much - beans figure a lot. Your body needs...
  226. H

    im fed up!!!!

Laura, in three weeks you've lost more than I think I'd lost in three months! Time for a chill pill, hun. You're doing wonderfully well. A healthy weight loss is between 1-2lbs per week. Not only is this better for your poor heart than your weight dropping so much all the time, it's better for...

Weight Loss Slowing Down...Advice Needed Please

It's normal, don't worry. Look how much weight you've lost - your body just needs time to readjust and then you'll bomb through. Last time I lost loads of weight (with WW) I STS for about 3 weeks, put on a half-pound, and then lost 3lbs in one week, bombing me through target and making my...

Desperate for something sweet to eat for low syns!

The quark with choccie or nutella mixed in sounds scrummy. Gonna try that for deffo. Are meringues free? And what are pinks and whites?

That's the spirit Christie! Let us know how it goes tonight.
  232. H

just cant get into the plan at all...wat can i do..

I'm gonna buck the trend and say if you can't find the motivation - and after 10 weeks, you've certainly tried - then perhaps it's not the time for you. I've spent 30 years on a "diet", of which probably only six months has been spent truly losing weight. The rest of the time I moaned about...
  233. H

Yeah - Got my 2 stone sticker

I was sitting here feeling all down and you've made me smile with such great news. A massive, ginormous, huge WELL DONE! :happy096::clap::happy096:
  234. H

    Calories in your booze!

I've developed a taste for low/none alcohol lager. Now that is officially sad!! Cocktailprincess - come on, with a name like that, how can you give up!!!!
  235. H

what have you bought that you wouldnt normally eat

I'm a Quark newbie too and I love it. As for olives, I forced myself to eat them because they look sophisticated. Now I'm addicted.
  236. H

    Why I love SW . . .

For lunch, I've had a huge chicken leg (red day), salad, jacket potato (HexB) and quark (try it - lovely). Not a single syn and a massive plateful. But best of all was the following conversation: "That's a big plate of food." "Yup. I'm on a diet . . . " And it's true :D:D:D
  237. H

    OKay. Somebody stop me....

    :D:D:D
  238. H

what weird and strange diets have you done previously

As a teen, I had my mam's "diet" strategies, which included such things as: "Drinking lemon tea before every meal will help you lose weight as the acid burns the fat away". Surprisingly, it didn't work. She also regularly tells the tale of a woman she used to work with who covered her face...
