    Famine Mode from VLCDs

    Hey, You do actually go into 'famine mode' on a VLCD. By that it means your metabolism slows down to compensate for the reduction in calories, where as with a more moderate calorie restriction this does not happen as often especially if you exercise too. The metabolism is not severly effected...

    Well quite a small loss this week of 1 kgs, I am weighing in at home though so I guess my scales may be a little different to my LLC (here's hoping!).     Obsession with scales

    I am not weighing at home at all, just at my meetings. I think I am scared I will be disappointed and get discouraged. I aim to weigh once a week once I have finished the programme to monitor if I am maintaining.

    It will vary as I work day shift and night shift...mostly I am spacing them out and trying to get into more of a routine with it this week... Aim this week... choc milkshake breakfast caramel milkshake lunch soup made into pancake thingie and savoury drink dinner bar later in evening
