Hi all,
Have been out for dinner and tried to do a quick search before ordering but couldn't find much. Would someone mind telling me the syns for these please? Thanks!
Grilled goats cheese
Mozzarella in carrozza
Lobster and crab tortelli
Honeycomb Smash Cheesecake
Hi,
I've just noticed that Tesco seems to have changed their sushi packs - would someone be able to check the syns please? I can't see a thread already...
I liked the look of:

Prawn and Red Pepper 84g
Sweet Chilli Chicken 86g
Thanks!
Be Fast Breakfast Strawberry Shakes - has anyone else seen these? Could someone check the syns for me? Thanks! The details are:

Hullo all,
I have some vouchers to spend and hadbheard various people talk about actifrys and airfryers but I am pretty clueless about them! I was wondering which you guys think is best? Also, can you do stuff other than chips? Do you have to syn the oil or anything?
Thanks!
Hey Squiddie,
I remember you from last time and always liked your simple explanations for some aspects of the plan i.e. why not to look at calories. My OH and I have just decided to get back on plan (again) so it'll be nice to see you here again.
Just downloaded the files - off to fill them...
vanilla with choc sprinkles
Found some of these in Aldi this week but can't find them on the big yoghurt syn list. Are they new? Could someone look up the syns, pretty please?! :-)
Just to say I use fat free greek yog with sweetner and lime juice which is gorge, and Tesco Kids mini tortillas for 4 syns each.
Still syns for a mini milk or two afterwards! :-D
We had gammon with mango and chilli salsa last night (nicked the idea from Aldi!) - was delish. 1 mango, 1 red onion, juice of 1 lime, 1 teaspoon sweetner, 1 red chilli. Make at least 30 mins ahead.
Anyone got a going out top in size 26 or 28?? It's my birthday next month and my mates want to go for cocktails. My wardrobe is more pie and a pint!
Don't like sleeveless and am long in the body, and I'm mid 30's (or will be :sob:)
Here's hoping....
Some sort of chicken pasta made with leftover bbq sauce with the rest of the carton of passata added! Might make it into a bake with cheese on top.....
I use any white potato, wedge them (unpeeled), spray tray, put wedges on skin side down, spray wedges, bung into oven on 220 (no parboil, cold and normal baking tray), leave for 45 mins, turn onto sides, cook for 15 mins. Done.
Depends what the problem is (if it is dairy). If it's lactose, you might get away with cooked milk as it's broken down or goats milk products as it's naturally low, or there's always lactofree. In the meantime either get calcium enriched milks or some calcium tablets (got mine on prescription in...
Not at the moment but did whilst bfeeding my lactose intolerant daughter.
I'd cut the dairy out totally for a few days and see if baby improves. T was better within 48 hours (at 3 months old) and that meant the GP put her through for testing, dietician referral and dairy free / soya free...
Can you use lactofree products?
I heard a low fat yoghurt and cheese was in development. Fingers crossed! We use lactofree milk across the family and it'd be easier to just buy one type of yoghurt too.
Tesco Finest Chorizo Pork Sausages
Could someone be a sweetheart and look these up online for me? OH has brought them home from the whoopsie section!
Thanks in advance! x
Think I've used Kitchen Gourmet and Blue Dragon before - got lots of the Blue Dragon onez at Aldi on offer after chinese new year! Used the last pack last week.
Was online but not on this thread :-)
Glad the liquid went, sometimes happens so just leave it in for a bit longer.
Dried mushrooms are free (just check nothing added) and can never find them in Asda. Fresh is fine, you just don't get the intensely mushroom-y water to add.
And you could use...
Half a lb off, which is a miracle given I've had 3 McDonalds this week (4 year old had tonsils removed on Tuesday and won't eat anything else!)
Trying harder this week.
It's almost impossible to find in supermarkets. I use Tesco lamb cubes which are 4g fat per 125g (so 3% fat) and mix the ingredients in the food processor. Works great.
OK, this is going to be tough! Imagine plastic outer circle with two side by side flexible blades inside. You push the blades over the mango so they flex and closely cut either side of the stone, leaving you with two halves to then scoop out or whatever.
Does that make sense??
If it's lactose, can you use Lactofree? I did the same whilst feeding my lactose intolerant daughter (now aged 4) on dieticians advice, and I was veggie ... so I basically went vegan for 10 months! It wasn't too bad and worth it for the benefits to her. She's fine with everything except lactose...
I have the Lakeland gadget and it is ace. I often have to take the odd eye out of the spiral, so it's going as close to the edge as possible. It's magic!
The mango gadget is fab too!
Hullo - joining in, if I may? Shout if I've got something listed that's not speed!
Lettuce
Cucumber
Carrot
Melon
Grapes
Mushrooms
Onion
Spinach
Need to try harder (and go shopping :-) )
I think the lactofree milk reduces the lactose content to 0.05% of normal. My daughter is severly lactose intolerant and so we all use their products (except Mullerlights for me).
Read labels religiously - there's often milk in ham, mayo, tomato sauce, crisps, sausages, 100% fruit ice lollies...
For me, the Wii means I can do stuff when my OH is away and I've got my DD in bed. Doesn't feel like I'm doing much tho (on Wii Fit Plus) - any recs for other games??
I did some on Friday in a piri piri marinade.
For 400g pork loin / 4 people:
3 tblsp sweet chilli sauce
Zest of a lime (I used 1 tblsp lime juice)
2 cloves garlic, crushed
Tsp each of cumin and corriander
Marinade for at least an hour and then oven bake for 20 minutes (or til cooked). Remove...
Hi all,
After a long absence and seemingly regaining 2/3rds of the weight we lost (bought new scales but they seem dodgy - going to return them), OH and I are back on diet.
Can't believe what a muppet I've been. Hey ho, off we go again.
So, hi everyone!
really nice - tastes a bit like chip shop curry to me, so I add a pinch of garam masala and cooked chicken to make it more curry like if I'm having it with rice, or just embrace the chip shop flavour and have it on a jacket potato!
Only just realised last time I asked for the syn values for these, I was eating the Asda or Morrisons versions - now I am on Tesco!
So, does anyone have the syn values for Tesco Japanese Rice Crackers please?
Thanks! x
My sister did, on the NHS. She was suffering back pain from being a 34H. She went down to a 34C/D and despite weight changes she's stayed there and the scars are looking fab.
I'll have it done too if my 40G's don't go down, and a lift if they do. They went up to 40K when I was...
My Nurse said depo would make me gain weight but I lost a stone in the first 20 weeks. Haven't lost any since, but haven't been totally on plan, sooooo ...
I buy this too and look for the smallest rind possible and then just cut off the "tail" as I call it. For that much cheaper than big supermarlet extra trimmed bacon, you're still saving overall.
(My daughter gets the "tail" all cut up small in her sandwich!)
yep, but he's managed to loose over 3 stone by not eating 1/3 superfree so I've no chance of convincing him!
To be fair, he has Alpen Light for breakfast, mugshot or leftovers for lunch with mullerlight and then a properly SW dinner. So leftovers could be prawn noodles, couscous and roast...
We had it last week for the first time - with chicken and I added a teaspoon of garam masala and a teaspoon of cumin to spice it up a bit more. OH loved it.
That's the right stufff, but just tomato flavoured. Will compare the nutritional info and if it's similar, count it as the same.
Thanks very much, you're very kind. x
Me again! Just remembered we shared some risotto with our daughter yesterday and I said I'd check the syns.
It was the packet risotto from Aldi, tomato flavoured. Can't remember the exact name but could check later if needed.
Anyone know?
Thanks in advance.
B - Alpen Light
L - at a bbq. Had 6 chicken thighs (seemed to be plain), lettuce, tomatoes and 2 tbsp bbq sauce.
D - leftover curry from last night or turkey burgers
I didn't eat that badly so it annoys be that I got so big (23 st)
No brekkie or 2 toast with low fat spread.
Cheese or egg bap with salad, crisps and a chocolate bar.
Stir fry or casserole with lots of veg and boiled / jacket potato or rice, or pizza and garlic bread or fajitas.
Not...
I went to Asda at lunchtime to make sure I didn't miss out - got 4 x 4 tins. :D Bargain. The shelf says 2 for £4 but only in small writing and not highlighted.
my OH is the same. Puts some SW chips on whilst I get our daughter to bed ... uses olive oil ("just a bit!") and leaves the fat on the chops until they're cooked and tells me just to leave it on my plate ...
Cheese and bacon pasta? Cook pasta. Fry onion, bacon, mushrooms and whatever else you have (peas, sweetcorn, spinach - whatever) until soft, add tub of 0% greek yoghurt and parmesan and stir. Pour over pasta. Nomnomnom.
lol ... catering chappie came to take the trays away and was saying they shouldn't have been left as it was against regulations, it'd all been sat out all night, etc etc. It's fruit for goodness sakes!
I persoanlly usually have a Freddo or Maltesers and/or some French Fries most days, and that leaves me a few syns for a tablespoon of honey or oyster sauce in my stirfry or some mayo for my SW chips or whatever.
After an event last night we've got 3 simply enormous platters of fresh fruit in the office kitchen. Am working my way through melon, kiwi, strawberries, grapes and oranges, and trying not to look at the mountain of samosas and spring rolls beside it ...
Yum yum. Lucky me! :D
I buy in bulk when things are on offer - like mugshots and Alpen Lights. The branded stuff is expensive but I'd never pay full price for the Alpen's for example. I have some plastic boxes in the understairs cupboard packed with them from the £1 a box offer recently!
I also bulk buy meat on...
Anyone know how many syns for Asda breaded fish fingers? Got loads in as they were / are on offer - bought them for my daughter but didn't realise they were low syn!
have PM'd you! Am so excited - thank you so much for this. It really is a fab thing to do and I will pass the books on for free again once I am done (altho, as I have over 10 stone to loose, this may be some time ....)
I swirl and use vinegar - my trick is to drop the egg into the middle of the pan so you get maximum swirlage to hold the white around the yolk. it'll move out to the side a bit and then drop in another (if you are doing more than one, obv)
there's a Smart Price one with no dressing sachet - I get that one.
I use 2% greek yoghurt for the creaminess plus sweetner. One bag makes a good 4 portions, so practically syn free.
Soneone told me the dairy free cheese sauce in a yellow tub is syn free? You just add milk or water. Will go and try to find a piccy ...
Edit: this is it - I get it from Tesco for my daughter anyway...
Have just got back on track this week after holidays, general procrastination and excuses. Was amazed to be 2lbs down on the last time I weighed, so that's helping.
Have got an app for my (non-iPod) phone that tracks when I walk and they are giving 1 prize draw entry for each 100 calories you...
Chicken - never had that (was veggie til recently). What would you serve it with veg wise?
Meringues - OMG, really? My daughter has these when we've got friends for dinner and proper puds for the rest of us as she is lactose intolerant and I've always tried to resist. Nomnomnom.
Personally, I have an Alpen Light (apple usually) and save the other one to have at 3.30 (a chocolate one). Plus a yoghurt or a banana if I feel the need, but I'm not a big breakfast eater.
Then lunch at 12 and a snack at 2. And at 6. Then dinner at 9!
not a member so don't have the website - using some books my sister lent me but as it's working am going to join soon.
anywho, many thanks!
Circles - did you mean me re the 14 foot thing? My screen says I'm 5 foot 8 ...
yup - OH didn't realise he was eating SW, but when I told him and he decided to cut out all the snacks he was having at work, he's dropped 12lbs in 10 days. Git.
OH hasn't been eating 1/3 superfree as he hates most fruit and veg - if I can get it into him, I do, but for most lunches he is having just leftover spag bog or risotto or whatever, not salad. He's snacking on bacon and Mug Shots.
Anyhoo, he had a sneaky midweek weigh in and has lost 7lbs in 4...
Today:
B - apple and apple Alpen Light
L - ham salad, Walkers baked (5.5 syns), clementine
D - not sure yet
S (so far) - Freddo
Did some lovely lamb steaks in balsamic vinegar last night, with salad and SW chips. Yummy.
Crackerjack prawn dippers and a few spoonfuls of ice cream at Harvester on Saturday (daughters birthday lunch), but no dinner.
3 slices of garlic bread, slice of cake, slice of chocolate cheesecake and lots of cocktail sausages on Sunday (daughters birthday parties)
Thanks ladies.
She is only just 3 and loves dry bread so she probably would happily eat them plain, but it would take her a while to get through them all!
Maybe if I do 2, let her load up the free toppings, use her lactofree cheese and then split them between the three of us with SW chips and...
Heinz Extra Light Salad Cream
Walkers Baked
Freddos
Cherry Mullerlights
Sweet Chilli Sauce/Oyster Sauce/Honey in stir fries
mini Calippos (they're made from calipers and hippos :D) / Twisters
gravy occasionally
Not all of these every day, obv!
Hadn't realised that Milky Way magic Stars were...
Could someone tell me the syns for these please? Bought loads for my daughters birthday party and have about 12 left! Not sure whether to feed them to her slowly or to do us all pizza one a week.
Also, is Lactofree chesese on the HExA list? if not, how many syns? Easier to use the same...
damn it! had missed this point and have been eating loads of peas and sweetcorn, and bought a big bag of parsnips to roast at the weekend.
Note to self: read more carefully next time!
I can understand and appreciate why they are clarifying this. It'd be easy to have a plateful of spag bol and then a big salad on the side (and you can do that) but better to start with 2/3 spag bol and 1/3 salad on the same plate and see if you're still hungry after eating that. That's about...
I've so far eaten 3 of my nearly 3yo's homemade biscuits since yesterday lunchtime. But as they were made by my daughter, they're syn free, aren't they ???
That's a shame about the HExB - they are lower in calories and fat than Alpen Lights, but it's probably down to the fibre again.
They aren't as "big" as Alpens although they weigh the same, it's just compressed rather than full of air. I had one for breakfast most days and wasn't even...
Can anyone tell me what the syn values are for the banoffee, lemon curd and chocolate brownie versions of these? Or if they are HexB's?
My MIL was feeding me them over the weekend and they were lush, so have a horrible feeling they'll be quite high.
(I don't have access to the calculator...
Hullo,
Am planning to make some sort of beef and mushroom pie tonight, with sliced potatoes on top.
What would you use to make the gravy? Beef Bovril? Will it need thickening?
Thanks,
Trinity x

Sounds like the one I have. I've done a big joints in it for 8 to 10 hours on low and they've been lovely - lamb with rosemary, gammon in apple juice, chicken with lemon and pepper. Just enough liquid to cover the bottom.
And various stews and things, filled about 3/4 full and again for 8 to...
Just chuck them in - no need to preboil. I throw them into stews, spag bog, chilli ... everything! ... and if you cook for at least an hour on the hob or a few hours in the oven or slow cooker, they melt away.
Anyone know what the Aldi lightly dusted one are? Can't remember the name exactly but spotted them last night and wondered. Think they are haddock or sole.
I've had the Tesco one and it's nice. Looks horrid when it first comes out but improves on heating, and you can chuck in a splash of Worcester Sauce and/or mustard. We've had it with mash and green beans.
This weeks was classic - what a classy bird she was. And such an elegant brides speech - I must remember to incorporate some of her words into mine ... !
Him in the wedding dress was hilarious.
love it love it love it
Thanks Vixxster - trouble is a am a ex veggie (less than a year ago) and so can't bear the thought of cheap chicken. I know it's silly, but ...
Got a very full basket of shopping for the week for £72 at Aldi which I was very pleased with (and that included 64 portions of cat food !)
I'm about to be made redundant o I'm trying to shop at Aldi for the majority of our food, and then do a monthly Tesco stock up on brands.
I know gammon steaks with mango and chilli salsa are free, as are the lamb shanks on red wine sauce. Otherwise I'm clueless and my book is way out of date...
2lbs on this week (had pizza at the weekend ... twice ...) and have been out for lunch and had a sausage, bacon and egg baguette followed by a scone ... with butter ... and jam ... and cream ... :o
bah.
had the Aldi gammon with mango salsa ... OMG, totally yummy. With chips and peas. nomnomnomnom
And I got the lamb shanks with red wine sauce for tonight !
Whilst discussing what to have for celebratory tea with OH, he suggested curly fries and I actually shouted "noooooooooooooooooooooo!!!"
That's NEVER happened before ... :-)
Have finally agreed to a leaving date from work and feel the need to celebrate.
Nothing in at home. Going to Lidl on the way home for dishwasher tablets - what can I get from there that's yummy and very low syn?
I'm thinking like the lamb shanks or the gammon and salsa from Aldi. That kind...
What is your meal plan this week ?
I still do my money saving things of adding lentils to casseroles and spag bog, tins of beans to chilli and lasange and so on to make the meat go further.
We're just about managing on £90 a week for 2 adults, a toddler with allergies and 4 hungry cats.
My daughter is Tabitha - after my OH's great grandma (saw her name in a family bible and loved it, he'd never met her). I know of 3 others online of about the same age, but not come across any irl yet. Wanted something unusual but traditional, but not too far out there !
Don't try making it without the golden syrup or baking powder (had already opened the tin of chickpeas before I realised we'd run out).
Smells divine, tastes properly rank. :9529::sign0137:
My daughter is lactose intolerant and so I went dairy free when feeding her. You may be ok with goats cheese / milk as it is super low lactose, but she's reacts to the tiniest bit so we're lactofree cheese and soya milk all the way.
You need to check packets for not just milk and whey, but...
I've had the sweet chilli ones before and they are lovely.
They also have Sumatra King Prawn Kebabs, Salmon Burgers, Minted Lamb Meatball Kebabs and Pork Kebabs with Peppers - could someone be so kind as to furnish me witht he releavnt info on those, please ? Most kind ...
Any 2 for 1 |...
You'll easily get 10 portions out of a tub - from memory I think it's 3 tblsps of powder to half a pint of water or milk.
I've made macaroni cheese and lasange for my daughter before and it worked a treat.
Am making baked bean and bacon lasange with it next week for all of us.
Have been doing EE as it's easier for OH and daughter, and been playing at it for a few weeks but still eating bad stuff too. I am a total grazer, so need ot be eating constantly. But as of last Wednesday, I have been having ...
B - fruit and yoghurt
S - Alpen Light (1/2 HexB), fruit
L -...
.... after giving myself a stern talking to and :asskick: in the mirror last Wednesday, I have lost 6.5 lbs this week!
Whoop! :p :talk017: :bliss:Yay me! :banana dancer::greenapple::party0011::woohoo::scale:
As you were.
An Alpen bar (save the other for mid afternoon) and a piece of fruit, possibly a yoghurt.
At weekends I have just fruit and yoghurt, as I have time to prep a nice bowl full.
will try the heated plate version! do you use a dinner plate ?
Am still working our way through these same blumming potatoes. Decided they'd last all week this week too! Thank goodness my fridge seems to work on stasis technology.
If your generously boobed, try please try Bravissimo - they're amazing. (which is your local store ? I know the MD so could dob them in !!! lol ... serve them right, evil cows)
That said, after wearing very soft and comfy maternity and feeding bras for 2 years, I went in to get some...
OMG - I have this in the house already as my daughter is lactose intolerant ! Brilliant !
You'll find them both in Tesco in the allergy food section.
Now you just need to tell me that Alpro chocolate puddings are syn free and I'll be back to being dairy free in a heartbeat (did 6 months...
right, can someone tell me the crisp recipe again in words of one syllabel please? I did them for 4 minutes on high and they still weren't brown.
single layer, no overlap, 900w microwave.
:(
Think I will make lots of chips tonight, and have some with sausage casserole and freeze some parboiled ones.
And grate some ready to make the grated potato and bacon thing for everyone breakfast tomorrow.
And finally, some crisps to nibble tonight.
nomnomnom
Found two big bags of potaotes at the bottom of the fridge, and all this weeks meals are rice or pasta based.
What can I make and freeze? I'd thought about leek and potato soup if I get some leeks ... and then got stuck!
Help!
What's the current Muller Light special edition? is it free ?
Am doing the shopping on mysupermarket and they don't update their photos very often. Ordered what I thought was Options White Choc Special Edition and got Turkish Delight !
Thanks
Salad was blumming lovely ... tons of lettuce ! Managed to find a pocket of tabasco at one point and nearly blew my eyes out .... not a good look at work ... :p
HexA is milk for my tea.
Never done an EE day before - would you mind double checking my working ?
B - Alpen Light and Muller
L - pasta, chicken and ham salad, dressing made from 1tbsp mayo, 1tbsp tommy sauce and tabasco
D - pork chops with apple, lots of veg, SW chips or boiled tatties
S - muller...
3 easy steps !
1. get tonsillitis
2. eat nothing but white toast spread with generous amount of Lurpack, buckets of tea made with real sugar and mounds of Haribo for 4 days.
3. loose 5lbs.
Brilliant ! Now can someone give me tonsillitis every week please ?!?
I have full fat mayo in the fridge but have to try not to use it.
My DD has a dairy intolerance so I only buy dairy free things to make things easier, and all the light / extra light mayos contain cream (mad, isn't it?)
