    The BReak Up Diet

I lost 2 stones in a matter of 3 or 4 weeks when I spilt up with my wife. Anxiety must eat up calories but I certainly wouldn't want to go through that again! There are certainly more conventional diets around to help you lose weight permanently. Unless a conscious and controlled "fast" you...

    Fast-5 WOE

I stumbled across this diet on the net when I was considering JUDDERing. It's a simple idea, you eat for a 5 hour window everyday and fast for the other 19 (some of which are while you are sleeping of course). For me that means skipping both breakfast and lunch and eating /drinking normally...

    Thinking of Low carbing!

Hi Helen, I have used Dr Charles Clarke's High Protein diet with some success. If I remember correctly you can have up to 50g carbs which includes things like toast. As with Atkins it talks a lot about insulin and how to keep the spikes down but it's not a diet where you can get into ketosis...

    JUDDD!

Hi, I guess that in reality I'm eating less calories than normal during this 5 hour window. In fact I'm eating exactly the same as I would do even if I had had breakfast, lunch and daytime snacks. That in itself has got to lead to weightloss without the other benefits provided by fasting. The...

    I want to cry

OMG thats is so true! First time I did Atkins it was easy, I lost loads and felt great etc. 2nd time around none of that applied and I became disillusiuoned and eventually gave up. Bizarre though I have to agree. :sigh:

    cholesterol test OMG!!!

Good stuff Jim, Dr Atkins was always big on stating the effect that his diet has on bad cholesterol. It's a shame that too much fat and protein are still seen as the enemy by the medical profession when we know different!!!

    Low Carb Bread

Does anybody use that quick bread recipe from the original Atkins book (for some reason recipe removed in later editions)? The ex-wife used to make it for me and it was a life-saver with scrambled eggs and my old favourite - curried mince!! Yum. Could also be used for croutons in salads!!

That's some improvement Woofy! Well done you x. I had mine done at work recently and recorded 5.45 which apparently was a bit high. The info pack i was given to help me reduce was the exact opposite of the low-carb diet that we all know, what a load of complete tosh!!
