    CDC training on Thursday...

I've been on the maintenance steps for about 6 weeks now, and I have to admit I've fallen off the wagon a few times. It's just so hard to stay on track and keep motivation when I'm actually happy with myself now, if that makes any sense? xx
  9. haggard_hannah

    So confused

I was on the 810 plan for about 8 weeks and was losing about 4 lbs a week still. And on 1000 plan it was still about 2lbs a week xx

Can't get to CDC training day :'(

Train would be cheaper, but even if I got the first train in the morning I wouldn't get there till about 11am...I don't know what time they usually start. And if I got the train home after it would involve kipping on a random station platform for a few hours :( xx

Can't get to CDC training day :'(

I was all booked in to do the CDC training day on September 17th in Bristol...until I realised just how far away Bristol is. Because it's such a long way away, I'd have to travel down the night before and travel home the morning after the event. That's 2 nights in a hotel and at least £50 on...

    I am really happy...

Nope, I began to feel this after a while too. It makes it so much easier, doesn't it! And people are always commenting on my "will power"...but i swear it's not that, it just gets really easy once you've done the incredibly hard thing of breaking the habit xx

  40. haggard_hannah

    I feel so much stronger!

Well done Jackie, it's all too easy to let a little slip like that throw you completely off the diet and use it as an excuse to completely binge. It's great you're not letting it hold you back, onwards and upwards! xx

Scared - Don't know what to do?? advice please

Hi Ruth! I experienced exactly the same thing when I moved up to 1000 plan. It took my body a good month to adjust to having food (especially carbs) in it again. I was putting about a pound on a weekk, but this was all water retention because the body sort of goes into shock at having carbs in...

New thread............ Tell me ur feelings about cd!

Put simply, the Cambridge Diet has not just changed my life, it has saved it. I have no doubt that, had I not discovered CD, I would have carried on getting steadily bigger and I would have eaten myself into an early grave. It's scary looking back now, I didn't realise it at the time but I only...

    I've really struggled today..

Yep, you've got the End-Of-Week-One Blues! I was exactly the same, it's almost as if the adrenalin and excitement of starting the diet has worn off slightly and it suddenly seems to be incredibly hard. BUT! You should congratulate yourself on getting through your first really difficult day...
  45. haggard_hannah

    After carefull consideration...

I think your CDC may have meant that you can't start Sole Source or Sole Source Plus straight away. A lot of people start on a higher step, such as the 810 or 1000 calorie step, for a few weeks then slowly move down the plans to Sole Source. I'm sure your CDC didn't mean to discourage you and...

  48. haggard_hannah

    Do you let yourself believe...

When I was in the first few weeks, or even months, of the diet, I couldn't even see the long-term goal, I was taking it stone by stone. The thought of me actually reaching my goal was mind-boggling! But now I'm well into my 8th month of the diet and my goal is in sight! I seriously could never...

  50. haggard_hannah

    I have my phone interview...

....with CD in the morning! I'm really nervous because I wanna be a CDC so much! And I don't know what sort of questions they're gonna ask, like about why I want to be a CDC or is it gonna be more like a test on my knowledge of the diet? I just hope I don't muck it up, fingers crossed! xxx

    your top favourite books

I love all of Chuck Palahnuik's work - he wrote "Fight Club" and "Choke", both made into films. But my personal favourite of his is "Invisible Monster", powerful stuff. Another great author in the same vein is Douglas Coupland. For me, his stand out novels are "Girlfriend In A Coma" and "Hey...

    Is this it for me?

Harumph. I sort of think that I won't lose much more weight. Ideally, I'll lose another 15 pounds but I've run out of motivation and energy. I don't know why I'm all glum all of a sudden. But I am. It's sort of hard to come to terms with the fact that, I've done this amazing and incredibly...

    Cosmetic Surgery

Well I'd feel bad because, yes I lost the weight myself and may be saving them money in the future, but the NHS is so stretched anyway! And I don't have any real medical reasons for getting it all done (yet) it's more vanity lol xx
  62. haggard_hannah

    Headaches

A bit of a long shot, but it could be a sort of delayed withdrawal symptom! You're body is used to a certain level of sugars/glucose/fat/caffeine and it's not getting it now? Could be totally wrong but that's what I found with me :) xx
  63. haggard_hannah

    Cosmetic Surgery

Hmmm yes, the loss of sensation in the boobies would be a downer. And yeah actually, Belgium does sound quite good for it. It's all academic though, I wouldn't be able to afford it anywhere! xx

    Cosmetic Surgery

Just out of curiousity and sheer boredom, I've been looking up how expensive it would be to get a spot of cosmetic surgery done. I'd need a tummy tuck, breast uplift (seriously, they're like spaniel's ears) and upper arm lifts. And the total is......£12,000 for the lot!:eek::eek: Think...

    Vlcd on channel 5 news

I HATE when they make out that we're "not eating" on vlcds. Ok, so the majority of us aren't eating many solids or follwing a "conventional" diet, but do they really think our bodies are being unhealthily denied? Surely our bodies would be at more risk if we just keep on piling on the weight...

    I have Swine Flu

Thanks guys :) Qwertpi - not sure it would be advisable to stick to SS if you got it - you can't take the Tamiflu on an empty stomach, it would make you even worse! But moving up to SS+ would probably be ok xx

    I have Swine Flu

:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry: it's been confirmed! My CDC has recommended I go up to the 1200 plan this week to give me some strength and help me get better. I'm not sure if I'd be able to keep it all down though! :( xx

  82. haggard_hannah

    Woo hooo!!

I'm so happy for you, Caz. I love that feeling of going down a size or 2, first the disbelief, then the denial ("No, I couldn't possibly be that size, look at me!") then the sheer bloody joy! (as demonstrated above :D) Good on ya, girl :) xx
  83. haggard_hannah

    Really not my week

If I don't lose it this week then I'm gonna be so upset. Will I never be able to eat proper food again??
  87. haggard_hannah

    Really not my week

Well I've just been dumped. And actually PUT ON 5 pounds this week after being on 1000 plan for a week. Stuck to it to the bloody letter! What a kick in the teeth.
  88. haggard_hannah

    Is this normal?

Hey, I've been on 1000 plan for a week now and pretty much ever since I've been experiencing really bad stomach pains. They're like a really bad griping, sort of crampy. But they get so bad sometimes that I'm doubled over in pain! Has anyone else experienced this going from 810 to 1000? xx
  89. haggard_hannah

    Wish me luck!

I'm off in a bit to do Race For Life! Probably won't run it, will be more of a jog walk jog :D But I wouldn't have had the confidence to do this 6 months ago. Doing CD has really opened up my world. Wish me luck! xxx
  90. haggard_hannah

    WTF??

I have changed it, my hair was always curly but had it cut shorter :D
  91. haggard_hannah

    WTF??

I hope it is water retention. It surely can't be actual fat gain, only consuming half the RDA. It's either water retention or I'm pregnant lol
  92. haggard_hannah

    WTF??

I don't know if it's my TOTM, I've only had one since starting in January so kind of lost track. And not done any more exercise than normal :S
  93. haggard_hannah

    WTF??

I've been on the 1000 plan for 6 days now. I swear on my life, I've stuck to it 100%, in fact if anything I haven't had as much as I'm supposed to. Yet I just stepped on my scales and I've PUT ON 4 pounds! I know the body takes a while to adjust to more food and not being in ketosis and I even...
  94. haggard_hannah

    Miffed......

Oh no, that's a shame. I hadn't even considered being rejected by The Powers That Be, I'm applying to be a CDC myself and now I'm terrified I won't make it! Would bring back all the rejection complexes! It was bad how they didn't give you an explanation, quite unprofessional really. xxx

BOO! (it's gone a bit quiet again, thought I'd liven it up :D) xx
  96. haggard_hannah

Why are family so mean about weight loss!

I'm getting the opposite problem with my parents, they're now winging that I'm TOO thin! If you'd have told me 6 months ago that they'd be worried about me not eating enough, I wouldn't have believed you. I can't blooming win with them! xx

  105. haggard_hannah

I've found the perfect motivation for this diet!

Isn't it awful that people who we class as friends or even loved ones think they can talk so horridly about our old selves once we start to lose weight. It's like HELLO I still have feelings! Yeah, I've posted on the Minimins Dating Agency thread in the Flirt zone, but there doesn't seem to be much action there, so to speak lol Thanks for the advice everyone, I guess I'll just have to be patient xx

    Socialising

If people continue to offer me food and drink, I simply ask them to respect my wishes and stop offerring it! If they continue after this, I guess all you can do is just keep saying no! xx

    Looking for Love

Hi everyone, So I've been single for a while now and, looking back at my "before" photos, it's not hard to see why :o But now I've trimmed up and have bags more self-confidence. However, I still find it really hard talking to guys and I don't seem to be having any moer male interest. So, my...

    FYI Tummy Tucks on NHS

I've heard this too, although not formally either. I think it's one of those postcode lottery things. But luckily, it seems that my skin has been quite good to me and sprang back nicely :D xx

    H.E.L.P!!!!!

it is incredibly hard. It is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. But also the best thing I have ever done :D I have a future now - if I hadn't gone on CD I could have been dead within 5 years. And now, I look and feel like a different person. I tried every diet under the sun before this...

    How hard was that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done for sticking to your guns! xx
  130. haggard_hannah

    H.E.L.P!!!!!

Well, if you're in ketosis then you shouldn't physically be feeling any hunger. The "psychological" hunger, as I call it, will take a little longer to go away. The key to success on thsi diet is all about your state of mind. If you are positive and just keep telling yourself that you will...

    I CAN change my life

Hi Asa, I'm not sure exactly how long it takes to become a CDC, but my counsellor says I should be accredited by Christmas :D Good luck with the weightloss, you're doing so well, luck's not needed! And I hope you get your dream house! xx

    I CAN change my life

Hi everyone! Well, being on the Cambridge Diet has taught me that I DO have willpower, I CAN do whatever I put my mind to and I CAN change my life for the better. Now that I'm happier about my image and feel SO much healthier, I decided to address other areas of my life I wasn't happy with...

    This diet is just unreal..............

Wow, well done Curly! I know I'd never get down to a size 8-10 (my frame is just too big) but it's great to see how far you've come! xx

    CDC's

Yeah, what Spooky said lol xx
  137. haggard_hannah

    CDC's

I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure that CDC's have a professional duty of care to their clients therefore should not be discussing them to other CDCs in detail xx
  138. haggard_hannah

    CDC's

I agree with Emma, that is absolutely NOT how a CDC should act towards you at all. She needs telling off! xx
  139. haggard_hannah

    Worried!!

Oh yes, we're all still hounded by those dreaded "fat" days! But you WILL lose if you have been following the plan. And if it's not a great loss this week, it will be the following week. Just stay positive! xx

it's definitely one of the hidden "dangers" of doing CD - all the money you'll spend on clothes lol xx

    Hair Loss Worry

Losing hair is natural and totally par for the course on a VLCD. I've been losing loads of hair since the beginning, but then again I had really thick hair so it's not too noticeable. I've been reassured that it will all grow back once I'm on a bit more food. And it's just a case of balancing up...

chest infection ! should i come of cd or not

I'm no doctor, but I would say the best thing to do would be to come off CD, or at least move up to 810 or 1000 plan until you're all better. You can always restart again when you're over it but you'll need something inside you to aid your recovery xx

    sad :-(

As Broxi said, there's no way you can't lose weight on this diet if you're sticking to it correctly. And I find that, on the weeks that I have a small loss, I'll have lost more inches. I bet you'll have a great result next week. Stay positive! xx

    Help

Hi Daisy. What plan are you on? It's natural to get a bit faint and dizzy to start with, but not to this extent. Try drinking more water, and if that doesn't do the trick, it might be worth moving up a plan to SS+ or 810, which you can still get fantastic results on. xx
  156. haggard_hannah

    HappyHappyHappy!

I have now officially lost 8 stone! And today my CDC agreed to be my sponsor so I can train to be a CDC myself! I simply can't wait to start helping people and spreading the word about this diet, it has changed my life beyond recognition!! :banana dancer: That's how happy I am! xx

  164. haggard_hannah

Got through the first 3 days

Well done Karon! As we all know, the first 3 days are the hardest, I'm not saying it's all plain sailing from now on but you have done the hardest days and come through them smiling! I bet you'll still have a great result at your first weigh in xx

    Feeling Disheartened

Losing It For Good - what plan are you on? If you're on SS or SS+ it might be worth moving up a plan. I know it sounds a bit backward to try eating a little bit more but in more cases than not it helps to kick start the metabolism and for me resulted in more stable losses xx

Hi Broxi! Well it was 131 days ago that I started my CD journey. Back then, I was a size 22/24, had a 47 inch waist (I know!) And my BMI was in the forties. My first few weeks on CD were so overwhelming - I had around 10 stone to lose and the idea of not eating anything was unimaginable...

Making fleeting moments of bravado more constant?

For me, it was a case of "Ok, this is my last chance, if this doesn't work, nothing will". So I knew was this was my last chance to be happy...

    Losses during TOTM

Well I have found that i have always had a slightly smaller loss than usual during TOTM, but only between 1-2 pounds less. I'm heading to New York in November and I'm sort of dreading it - although I should be at goal by then, I still think that I'll be sneered off of Fifth Avenue, I just don't think I'll be good looking enough, crazy, I know!

Well everyone, you'll be pleased (and most probably surprised :p) to hear that I have had an absolutely brilliant day today! After a string of small losses and a loss of motivation, I wasn't expecting to lose much (if anything) this week. However, I lost...6 pounds! I was absolutely made up...
  222. haggard_hannah

Never really felt well since starting CD..

Without doubt, this diet is the very hardest thing I have done in my life. Up until a few weeks ago I felt absolutely awful, ill and tired all the time. I'm starting finally to get more energy and it has definitely been worth it, I'm the lightest I've been since i was 14!

    I've hit a snag

Hey guys, So it's only 11 days since I've been paid, a good 2 weeks before I get paid again and I have £25 left in my account. To put it simply, I can't afford Cambridge anymore. I think I may just be able to borrow a bit of money to pay for the next week. I'm a few stone away from my target...

Hi everyone, I've been having one of those really horrible days today. I get them every now and then on the diet, where I'll suddenly get all down and wonder why I'm doing it. Today I've been grouchy for no reason, really tired and drained and all I really want to do it eat loads :(:( I know...

    Can I just ask??

I like to put a few drops of Bio Oil in the bath, it's a really easy way to get the benefits of it. It seems to have worked cos my skin has firmed up nicely! xx

What made you decide to lose weight?

I have been fat and obese pretty much as long as I can remember, been getting slowly bigger year on year, but the last straw was back in October when I went on a work trip to Thorpe Park. There were a few rides that I couldn't even fit on - the shame and embarrasment was enough to make me...

    Some ss and ss+ please...

Hi, you should have the same amount of shakes on both SS and SS+. So if you're under 5'8" it'll be 3 shakes a day (plus meal on SS+ days) or 4 if you're taller. There are LOTS of foods that are prohibited on SS+ - you'll need to consult your yellow booklet for exactly what you're allowed xx

    Now on Step 3

Well done! I can't wait to start moving up the steps. It's getting to a stage now where I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel - still got about 3 stone to lose til goal but it's in sight! xx

I've just discovered the wonderful world that is buying the right size clothing!!

I seem to have the opposite problem - my hips are always smaller than my waist so it looks like I have saddle bags! :D I recently brought some new clothes that actually fit - I'm a size 18 everywhere I've tried now, hallelujah!! xx

    Anyone else have this problem!

I always lose from my face first...then my boobs :( obviously only a problem for the ladies lol

    Hair Loss....

I had really bad hair loss to start with, my periods disappeared and I was getting downy fluff on my chin and neck - classic signs of a rapid reduction in food intake. I'm on SS+ now and the periods have returned, the fluff has gone and the hair loss is lessening! :D xx

I'm in love with the porridge!

I discovered the best thing the other night...sprinkle a pinch of instant coffee into the porridge before you add the water - coffee flavoured porridge! So tasty! xx

thank god for this forum(graphic content sorry)

Unfortunately I know this pain all too well! And I always drink loads of water too, doesn't seem to make a difference! I think I will definitely try out those psyllium husk capsules, prevention is better than the cure! xx

Sagging... anyone got pictures and brave enough to share?

Sorry, just had to say that when I first saw the title of the thread, I thought it said Shagging...instead of Sagging! :p hee hee it did make me laugh. Surprisingly, my tummy skin has tightened up nicely after 6.5 stone, but my boob skin has gone really saggy. Sorry if TMI! xx

Thinking of jacking it all in

Right now I'm crying my eyes out, I'm totally frustrated and I just want to give up. The last week I've become more and more unhappy being on CD, it has been the hardest time for me yet. The urge to eat things (other than my 150 cal meal) has become too much to bear. I know scale hopping is...

    I NEARLY blew it!

I was working a late shift yesterday (a 3am finish) and didn't realise til I got to work that I'd forgotten to bring a sachet for my dinner! I thought I'd be ok, that I'd just have a large black coffee and have my sachet when I got home. But come about 10pm, I was so hungry that it hurt, I...

    Looking for a Cambridge Buddy

Hi Slickchick, I feel like a right pro at it now! Feel like I've been on this bloody diet forever lol but it's still the best thing I've ever done! SS+ was great for the first few days but now I'm finding it's just making me really hungry all the time :( But I always knew I'd have to go back...

How likely is it to be a size 14 by Christmas?

I would say it'd totally do-able, provided you believe you can and have the right attitude! A positive mental attitude is the secret ingredient to success on this diet!! Go for it! xx
