The holidays are over and now it's back to sw. I dread to think how much I've put on over xmas but I know some of it is down to baby weight. I know I won't be losing any weight, but merely maintaining my weight and gaining only baby weight as much as possible.

If you think about it it's a very small amount of skimmed milk which is split over 4 portions. I'm sure it would say if you needed to use a HeA for the milk. But 1 HeA of skimmed milk is 350mls, the whole recipe only asks for 142ml and like I said that's spread over portions.
I just syn'd it...

It of course means no alcohol at all over Xmas, even though my mum's just bought me a huge bottle of Bacardi as they all drink wine...lol. I'm sure she'll forgive me though. And at least it doesn't have an expiry date...lol.

We had a bit of a laugh about my WI today.

So long as you stay to group and have lost the week before, you should be eligible.
I know there are women in my group who travel a lot due to work and go to 3 or 4 different groups. If what you say is true they would never be eligible for SOTW.
I had mine today. I was surprised that I didn't feel the needle. Unlike the regular flu one which I had last week.
BTW, I was offered the swine flu jab last Thursday, but when they realised that I was having the regular flu jab on the same day they told me I'd have to have one the following...
Last year I went away for crimbo and missed one WI. When I came back I'd put on 3lb, which over 2 weeks I don't think is too bad. I got straight back on the wagon and I'd lost the same 3lb by the following week.
No I don't think so. I think so long as someone has lost or sts the week before, regardless of which group they went to, they should be eligible for SOTW.
Them's the rules

All I know is that we've been asked to bring in baked goods, either SW friendly or not. Then at group tomorrow I think everything is sold and the money raised is given to a charity. I'm not sure but I think it's the RSPCC.
Tea's and coffee's will be charged for too.
Lol....your confusing me now.
I want to know if there have been MW that have refused to sign the form.
Of course I'm sticking to group whilst we're still trying to get PG. I'm worried that a MW won't sign the form to let me continue at SW once I am PG.
I hope this makes sense :o
Thanks guys.
I'm worried in case the MW says no, she won't sign it. But I think I'll just tell her that I'm going to carry on sticking to SW plan whether she let's me carry on going to group or not.

I can't judge your weight as you don't have your height or BMI in your profile thingy.

I think there's a recipe on the SW website for making fish goujons. You could have them with SW chips and petit pois or a Jacket potato.
You could also squeeze some lemon on them before breading them, that would give them a nice tang.
I think sometimes if you're being too strict it can hamper your losses. Are you using all of your syns and what do you use your syns for?
I have hovered around the same weight (within a 3lb range up and down) for the past 3 months. Most of it has been my own fault though. But like you I'm...

I don't think you're supposed to have green tea after 4pm as it can keep you awake at night. But if it doesn't affect your sleeping patterns then your fine. If you notice your struggling to sleep then cut back to 6pm or something.
I take the green tea capsules. I tried drinking the tea but I didn't like it that much and I would have needed to drink at least 4 cups a day for it to have any weight loss benefits.
The capsules I take are just one a day. It isn't miracle weight loss, but if you're sticking to a diet it can...

I've been making some different soups just lately. I made the Chicken Chowder which was in the magazine last week. It was very nice and very filling. Very easy to make too.
I also made a Spicy Thai Pumpkin soup which was absolutely delish, but that one does have some syns (4 per bowl) but it's...
I sts this week which was a total relief after Sunday's pizza et al....lol.
I'll be back on the wagon for good tomorrow. I want to lose 6lb by Xmas....it's do-able :D
Overall, from the beginning I needed to lose 3 and a half stone. The first stone I lost neither I nor anyone else could notice. But now 2st 8lb lighter, that last stone would make a huge difference.
After being quite good this week with just a small set back on Saturday, when we went to the cinema yesterday I had planned my meals for the day. Choosing a green day so that I could have 2 A and B boxes and use my syns for chocolate treats in the cinema.
Everything went to plan right up until...

Here's the spicy pumpkin soup as requested. I made this yesterday and it's so easy to make. I'm not sure what the syns are though. The whole can of coconut milk is 20.5 syns and 1 tbsp of Thai curry paste is 1 and I would say that this recipe makes about 6 bowls of soup, so 4 syns I guess per...
We had beefburgers last night.
I put in some worcester sauce, steak seasoning and some beef bovril and gave it a good mixing. I also popped a babybell light into the middle and cooked it slowly so the cheese goes gooey like mozerella.....delish!

We were told no such thing. Men and women are told the same. 15 syns a day and everyone doing EE in my class is losing regularly anything up to 3/4 lbs a week. I would feel like I'm losing out if I only had 10 syns a day.
The problem is, I would guess, that some groups are bigger than others. It must be hard for your consultant to keep on track of everybody and I bet she's doing other groups in the area too, I know mine does. My group has approx 30-40 people in it, there's also the evening group and she does a...
Tuesday WI
I couldn't see a Tuesday WI thread so I thought I'd start one for this week.
1.5lb off again for me this week. Slowly but surely my weight is going in the right direction :)
We had tasting today too and someone brought in the most delicious spicy Thai Pumpkin soup. As soon as I get...
I agree too many carbs can make anyone gain weight.
Have you tried having whole wheat when you have pasta and rice?
Also when you have rice if it isn't brown have Basmati instead. For some reason it's better for you than Long Grain rice.
One last thing, have you thought of having all of...
I used to be on Femodene and it worked great. It suited me down to the ground. But then about 10 years ago there was a scare regarding certain pills causing DVT's and I was taken off of it. I was put on microgynon (sp) and it was ok. It gave me some weight gain but not a lot. What did bother me...
Hi Slinky
He's basically just deluding himself, isn't he?
Personally I wouldn't buy him any ready meals. I would make what meals you have for yourself and let him either eat the same or go out and get himself something else. How long do you think he would last if he had to go out every night...
I take Metformin for diabetes which has the same side effects if I eat too much fat. I have no side effects at all if I stick to SW. If however I fall off the wagon, then I get that sinking feeling in my stomach and know I have just minutes to get to the toilet.
I have to take Metformin, I...
I was on the pill for years. It's great for keeping you regular and for me it helped with cramps and mood swings. I didn't have a problem with weight gain with mine, but I don't like the idea of messing about with my hormones long term.
We've been using condoms now for just over a year. The OH...
I do a lot of walking over the Crimbo holidays. We'll have 3 kids aged between 5-7 all staying together, so the only way to keep our sanity is to take them to the beach and tire them out....lol. Then bath and bed :D
I also get to do a lot of shopping as my sister is a shopaholic (especially at...
I always have the problem of jeans being too big in the waist, even though I'm top heavy.
The ones that fit me best are next jeans. They do the different styles from high waisted, hipsters, boot flair, skinnyleg and boy style. There's bound to be a style that fit and suit you.
Just 2 weetabix and a sweet cuppa tea this morning.
But for lunch I'm having bacon, fried potatoes, baked beans and fried egg. Scrum-diddliumptious :D and for dinner tonight, pork chops, roast potatoes, sprouts, honey glazed carrots, stuffing ball and gravy :flirt2:
It's about having the things that you wouldn't normally indulge in or aren't available at other times of year.
I love nuts, but at Christmas we have a bowl full of all different kinds and a nut cracker.
We only have a punch at Christmas....or maybe New Years Eve.
We only have mince pies and...
I heard this tonight too and did a double take. But I think the thing we have to consider is that she's very short. 5ft 3in or something like that. So even if she is a size 12, being that short would make her appear a little more rounded than say someone at my height.

I started my group a year ago last September and since then I have been to every meeting bar last Crimbo and my 1 week hols in May. I have made friends with several ladies, we all go for a tea or coffee after the meet. We swap clothes as we grow out of them and pass them on to the newbies.

How does everyone plan on making it through Crimbo?
Will you stick to the plan all through the festivities or will you let your hair down and repair any damage afterwards?
I plan on losing as much as I can before hand, sticking to plan and doing everything that I should be doing until we go...
I'm classedas a medium frame. I'm 5ft 6.5in and weigh 12st 3.5lb and I'm a size 12/14 on the bottom and 14/16 on the top...damn those boobs.
People don't believe I'm a size 16 on top though and if I tell them my weight they're flabberghasted.

I can understand your frustration hun, that would make my blood boil. Personally I would go and tell him that now he's eaten your snack/treat he has to prepare you some more.

You know what. This probably isn't the answer your looking for....or maybe it is ;), but I would just say that Crimbo is only once a year. The party is just one day in the week. Unless you have lot's going on that week and won't be able to reduce your syns for the rest of the week, I would say...

We've just finished eating the chicken and sausage hot pot out of the one pot book. It's lovely with a bit of plain boiled rice and completely free as I used the Morrisons Eat smart, syn free, diet pork sausages.....phew, try saying all that without your teeth in :p
They're lovely Leniloo.
They taste even better than regular sausages IMO.
I have been using WW sausages which were ok at 1/2 syn. But these are much nicer and they're completely free on original and EE.
I am so surprised that no one in my group has ever mentioned them. I'm wondering if they actually know about them. I'll have to tell them tomorrow.
The only reason I discovered them is because I had my Free Branded foods book with me whilst shopping and I thought I'd have a look to see what...

I made some sticky quorn sausages using honey, soy sauce and ginger and I also made the lemon cake which is in the recipe section. Both went down really well with the group.
Thanks guys.
I like the sound of the balsamic vinegar one. I might give that a go.

I lost 1lb which is ok although I thought I might have done a little better as I've behaved myself more last week

I actually don't think you're eating enough. Have a look through all your free foods and speed foods again. Get some chicken, lean ham or some crab sticks to pick and nibble on. I don't eat fruit much as I'm not a great fan, but if you like fruit eat loads of it. Just keep grazing all day on...
