    O/T i want a dog

I've wanted a dog for so long! Impossible at the moment though, because I rent and I'm out of the house all day. As soon as I've got my own house and an appropriate job I'm sure I'll have one. My grandparents always had dogs - labradors, or spaniels. Spaniels are gorgeous, and not too big - but...

    Hovis Granary

Does anyone know if spelt and rye bread is okay as a hex b? I bought a really nice loaf from Morrisons, assuming it was! 2 slices is 57g, so the weight is fine - just worried about whether it counts as officially wholemeal or not :S Now I'm worried I'll have to give it away! It's lovely too :(

    Disappointed :(

Hmm, definetely need to be a bit stricter with my weighing again then :D Thanks for the fab lunch ideas too, Cherryade. I'm going to see how I get on with a red day tomorrow.

Help - keep me away from the cakes!!

I remember watching 'Supersize Superskinny' on telly a while ago, and a woman on there regularly picked up a whole Victoria Sponge in her two hands and ate the whole thing like a sandwich! :P Imagine the syns in that!

    'Fried' eggs

Might be a bit silly, but I need some help! Whenever I cook 'fried' eggs in a pan with a bit of frylight, they never seem to cook properly on top - they stay with a horrible top layer of uncooked clear bits for ages. I end up having to flip them over - I can't stand uncooked egg white - and then...

    oh my god help!!

Don't panic too much - your scales might give a different result to the SW scales anyway. Once I moved my scales onto a rug, weighed myself, and they showed I put on 7 pounds! Had a huge panic till one of my friends told me to put them back were they were on the hard bathroom floor and...

    I did it!

Well done! I used to weigh around 9 stone, and that was a great weight for me, too. I've set my 'in my head' target a couple of pounds lower than that but I know I'll be much happier about my body when I'm back down there again. Sounds like a really good decision. Congratulations on that and on...

    Lunch time ideas?

Normal cous cous is free on green, so you could take along some veg to mix with it, or some lemon juice. The Ainsley Harriot flavoured ones are really yummy, and most of them are 1/2 syn per 100g cooked. I'm pretty sure all the supermarkets will do their own versions. Asda definetely do - I...

    Lunch time ideas?

What about some cous cous? You can get it in packets, and heat it up if you've got a kettle and a bowl. It's yummy and a bit different if you're bored. You can get flavoured packets too for lots of different flavours - morrocan, or lemon. It always feels a bit exotic to me, when I'm bored of pasta!

    Disappointed :(

Thanks lovelies. Paperclip, I think you're right about weighing my healthy extras - I was guessing a 'match box' size of cheese this last week, and I probably don't know the plan well enough to do that yet. I try hard to have all my healthy extras - wholemeal bread is the easiest one, I...

    Disappointed :(

I need a bit of advice and reassurance. I just had my second weigh in - and put ON a pound and a half! I lost 2 pounds my first week and was really pleased, but now I feel I've ruined it all. I don't really know where I went so wrong either. I've been a bit more disordered with my eating...

    Egg poachers

I used to have a microwave plastic poacher. Mine was rubbish, could never get it to work. It would pop open and spray egg all over the inside of my microwave! One of my housemates bought me a proper egg poaching pan for my birthday, one of the ones with a disc inside and four little metal pods...

    A little sad!!

Are you sure you haven't gone down a back size? Lots of women wear a band size or two too big. If you needed to go down a back size to a 36, then you'd still be a D! If not then you will soon, I bet, as you keep losing the weight. And your boobs may not necessarily lose volume at the same rate...

Going out for a meal - help

My consultant kind of suggested that pizza is the worst offender synwise - all that bread dough and cheese :S Seem to be quite high syn in my red/green book, and I could never just eat one slice! Those pizza express ones with salad in the middle sound fab though, they're probably much better. I...

    o/t wedding outfit

here's the Nitya website, if you want to find a store or have a look at what they do: - nitya - I'm not trying to be an advert - I just know that my Mum, who's a 16/18, thinks they saved her life for occasion wear! She's definately not a 'sparkly dress' kind of a woman :P

    o/t wedding outfit

Hello, They're quite pricey but Coast do beautiful clothes, and their assistants tend to be really nice too. They do lots of beautiful shrugs, often with beading. One of those would be really lovely glam way to cover the tops of your arms if you wanted to, and you could wear it with all sorts...

    Grapefruit

I won a bag of fruit in the raffle at last weeks meeting. Very pleased! Only thing is - it includes a grapefruit, and I've got no idea what to do with it. :ashamed0005: Only way I know of is how my Dad eats them ... with loads of sugar on top, under the grill. Don't think that that would be...

Week 2 of hoola hooping and its working

That sounds amazing! I definetely want one now :D Was it hard to get the hang of? I remember, I could never hula hoop when I was younger. Is it easier with a weighted one? Also, I've just looked on amazon and they seem to come in different sizes. What size do you think would be best? I'm 5'3''...

    O/T New York and Boston

I went to New York on a 5 day uni trip in February. It was amazing! You'll have the best time. They have a Las Iguanas there too. They do latin american food, like yummy spicy fajitas and enchiladas. They also do things on a char grill - they have char grilled chicken, which comes with butternut squash and sweet potato. That might be a good option :D They have a menu on the website so...

Any really SMALL people on here ??

I just joined yesterday but I'm hopeful that I might lose a pound or two a week and be nearish my target by the end of July. We'll see though! Can't seem to get the right...

Hello I'm a student too. I was a bit worried about the money to start with, but I worked it out and for three whole months it'll only work out to be 51 pounds! I could easily spend that 'accidentally' on one trip to topshop :P So I thought this would be a better way to spend it. Also I think you...

Up-date on my hoola hoop/dance hoop

I can't hula hoop for the life of me! It just falls straight to the floor. Obviously I have no rhythm :P I've heard Beyonce does it though, so it must be good! :D I'll be really interested to see if it does help lose inches from your waist.

    Confused about the food diary

I did my first 'slimming world' shop after my meeting this morning, too :D I've been putting it off since saturday in case I bought the wrong stuff! I got loads of fruit and veg. Any really SMALL people on here ??

I'm 5'3'' and just joined a group this morning - weighed in at 10 stone 4, which is what I was expecting :S I don't really exercise so I've got no muscle tone, either - it's 10 stone 4 of squishiness! I was a little worried that people might be a bit like 'why is she here' because I know I'm not...

I've just come back from my first ever meeting! Everyone was lovely - I can't believe I was so worried! This is such a great thread, really helpful. I need to go shopping but I'm hanging on till I've been to my first meeting tomorrow, in case I buy all the wrong stuff! This has given me loads of ideas. What lovely food too - I bet most diet shopping lists would go 'spinach, broccoli, lentils...'!

    First meeting soon

Hello everyone! I'm joining Slimming World this Wednesday. My mum is already with Slimming World in my home town, and suggested that it would be a good diet for me - she knows I wouldn't last on any diet that denied me chocolate buttons! I'm quite looking forward to it, though I am nervous...
