    Which products can I have???

Hi, I’m not an expert but I think you can have any of the things that are called meal replacements. That consists of shakes, bars, muesli, porridge, soup, delights, some desserts, and even the pizza and chicken fajita. If you click more details it gives the calories and other nutritional info...

    OMG the Mexican rice...

Hi everyone I started on a VLCD on 10th January. I used to use Cambridge but was looking for something cheaper. Exante had a deal on so I thought I’d give it a go. I bought about 10 Mexican rice thinking it might be similar to other savoury packs I’ve had in the past. Ohhh no. I can hand on...

I wish they would do the eggnog latte with skimmed milk but they can't here :( They do it in America but I guess they must only have the one type of eggnog over here.

Weight Watchers points tracker and activity points?

Cheers :) I think I'm getting the hang of it now. I'm absolutely addicted to tracking my food now though, I've turned into one of those people who used to drive me crazy, always going "ooh, there's 6 points in one of them, you know" ;)

Weight Watchers points tracker and activity points?

Hi everyone, I have been on Cambridge up until now but my BMI is finally under 25 (need to update my profile info!!) and I was desperate to be able to eat with my family again, so I've decided to move over to Weight Watchers. I do shifts at work so I decided the online membership would be best...

    Starbucks coffees

Today I had an eggnog latte, couldn't resist as the red cups are only available for a limited time :) Couldn't find nutritional info for it on the UK starbucks site, so I used the US values and a tall eggnog latte is 8 points!! eeek, will have to be a very very occasional treat ;)

    Gaining on 810

I think also since you have solid food in your body that isn't normally there, this makes a bit of a difference :( when I did my 810 week I noticed my weight creep up the first few days. It was a bit disheartening but it did start to come back down again. Remember that people on a 'normal' diet...

    Drinkie

Thanks for that everyone! I think I'll have a chat to my CDC too tonight and see what she suggests. I might stay clear of the alcohol so I'd best take a shawl with me to make up for the lack of beer coat :)

    Drinkie

I'm on SS and I know we aren't meant to drink while on it. However, I'm going out for someones birthday and would really like to have a couple of drinks if possible as I've not had one since May ;) if I was to drink would I be best to have some extra food first or should I just steer clear...

Goodbye everyone and thanks so much for support

Good luck Broxi, I hope you find a way to continue your weight loss journey that suits you better than CD :)

    Pickled cabbage

I love it too! Although only if it's really crunchy. I bought a bottle of haywards as it was on offer but it's really soft and not really very 'pickly' - was sorely and bitterly disappointed! :)
  12. NicolaR

has your fat gone soft and wobbly?

Ooh I've never noticed but now I'll have to have a prod or a jiggle around and see :) might be a sign that you are retaining less water in your tissue as well as losing stored fat of course!
  13. NicolaR

    How Embarrasing!!!

Bless you ginstar, what an awful thing to have happened! But you've taken the first step in your weight loss and CD will work if you can stick to it 100% (ahem, not that i've been able to do that lately but hey ho!) good luck and let us know how you get on, and remember we're all here for...

    Will I lose weight-really?

Yes if you stick to it the diet does work :) just as an example I lost 10lbs in my first week, and overall in the first four weeks I lost 23lbs so over a stone and a half! I didn't feel too much different at first but everyone was commenting after the second week so don't be disheartened! Good...

    What about bovril or marigold?

I think technically Marigold isn't actually allowed, but loads of people have it on CD, even on SS without it affecting their losses. I can't comment on Bovril (I'm a veggie) but I would recommend the reduced salt Swiss Marigold (it's marked as Vegan) as added salt on the CD is a no no. I have...

    810 week again

Sparkles I had the same problem, my losses slowed right down and I couldn't seem to get them back even though I was 100%, doing exercise and drinking 4L of water a day. Doing 810 for a week does seem to have helped but you're right that you might see a very small loss (or even a gain!) on the...

    I'm possessed! (food mentioned)

Cheers Liz. I went to asda a couple of days ago and managed to fit into a size smaller in jeans (14s, yay!) and so to celebrate I swiped a galaxy caramel at the checkout! Why???? I need to convince myself that eating even just one more penguin will mean that the jeans won't fit anymore...

    I'm possessed! (food mentioned)

What's wrong with me? I went all the way through my first 12 weeks on SS and the 810 week without cheating at all, and didn't have any cravings at all. Since then though, the weeks following 810 have been hell, and lately I've found myself sneaking food (well, chocolate, chocolate and more...

It's a different variety of leaf tea, quite a delicate mild flavour. You can have leaf herbal teas as long as you know they only contain 100% tea and no sweeteners or flavourings. Lots of people have peppermint tea, green tea and redbush tea too. I like redbush as it tastes quite sweet to me...

    Water flavouring

I'm sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find an answer searching in the old posts. Is there any guidance on how much water flavouring we can use per day? If nothing official, does anyone find that it affects their loss if they have more than a certain amount per day? I was...

    Breast size

I bought some lovely bras before I decided to lose weight and they were 36GG. I've now given up pretending that they still fit and bought some more (cheapest possible as they won't fit for long!) the new ones are now 34F. I don't remember the last time I was a 34 in a bra!

    Feeling a bit demotivated

My name is Nicola and I am a scale-aholic! I'll admit I weigh myself every morning and every evening when I get home from work. On good days it puts a spring in my step, and on bad days it puts a black cloud over my head! The weird thing is that the difference between my scales and my CDC's...

    couldn't help myself...

Lunavix - I have a friend at work who likes Jane Norman and she has exactly the same problem. Not good for the self esteem! I like their clothes in the window but I've always known I would never fit into any of their clothes. Some day though!
  108. NicolaR

    couldn't help myself...

Thanks everyone :) I told everyone at work (and I mean everyone bless them!) that I was buying it and they all told me I'd have to start thinking about shoes too :) At least I have until Christmas to find the perfect ones!

    couldn't help myself...

I had been in love with a Karen Millen dress for ages and really wanted to buy it, but it was £199 and I just couldn't bring myself to spend that amount on a frock, especially one I won't be able to fit into for ages! But I saw a lady selling them on eBay (at a much better price!), and she said...

    So disappointed! :-(

Cheers for the encouragement :) I was hoping not to have to cut the bars down as they're so nice but I can't justify only losing not even 2lbs in the last 2 weeks. Sadly costwise I live with my parents and pay board, and because they're short on money I don't cut down the amount I pay them...

    So disappointed! :-(

Hi everyone I've had some really great losses until a few weeks ago, and then for my previous two weigh ins I've only lost 0.4lbs and then 1.4lbs. I haven't cheated at all so I don't understand it and I'm getting really frustrated and down about the diet. Last week I was still determined to...

Hi there, I'm sorry you're having a rough time of it. Try not to get disheartened though :) I won't lie and say that CD is easy because it really really isn't. And sometimes it really is a struggle to avoid eating food. But what I can definitely give you encouragement on is the amount of...

    Recent Discovery

Lunar Jim, if you can do Guitar Hero on Hard/Expert you might find Rock Band to be a little too easy. I can only do medium on both and usually play Rock Band, but when I go back to Guitar Hero I find it's sooooo fast I can't keep up ;)
  116. NicolaR

    I've got a question...

Don't be disheartened! You might not know exactly what size you'll be in September, but you know how many inches you've lost already and that's fab. So as long as you keep up with what you've been doing I'm sure you'll continue to have great losses :)

    I've got a question...

Wow, I took a look at that link with the height/weight/dress size comparisons, and it's amazing how many people of the same height and weight can be different clothes sizes! I know your shape makes a big difference in your dress size but the variety is huge! I'm 5ft 7.5ins and I'm aiming for...

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I know it's good advice just to stick to my CD's scales at my weekly weigh ins, but I'm terrible for weighing myself at home morning, noon and night! And the scales haven't moved since my weigh in on friday :( beginning to think someone has sabotaged them...

Hi everyone I've just been to my weigh in, and first off I'm wondering if all CDCs use the same weighing scales? Exercise??

I felt a lot better at the end of my TOTM but if I'm on my feet for a long time or do a lot of bending over I get a bit light-headed. But to be honest I've always been quite a lightweight as far as exertion is concerned, so you might find that you have more energy :)
  168. NicolaR

Whats your most embarrasing weight story?

Broxi that's awful! How rude :( Some people have no consideration for others at all. I paid £50 for a works trip to Alton Towers and was all ready to go until the night before when it suddenly hit me that I might be too big to fit in the rides. I scoured the internet looking for other...

So how many of you have experienced hair loss?

Oh my, I'm glad to say that hasn't happened to me! It's not something I've noticed is mentioned on the forum too often, so hopefully it won't happen to you. I've had very few side effects from the diet, my main one just being a bit of a lack of energy, and I hope the diet goes well for you too :)

Broccolli and Cheese Soup. Tried it?

I live off the soups and porridge! Didn't buy any more of the shakes after the first week as they made me want to gag but I've never tried the Broccoli after all of the negative comments I've read. I think (at most) only about 5% of people seem to like it.

my dad hates redbush too, but I just think it tastes like normal tea but a bit sweet (even without sugar in), which is good. I tried peppermint yesterday and it's ok, but i'm not sold on it yet. Black coffee is yuck but since redbush has no caffeine I'll have to drink a bit of it in the morning :)

I do generally have cravings, even when I'm not watching what I eat! So far they've been quite controllable but I'm dreading that time of the month, as I turn into a chocolate gobbling demon ;) I'm definitely looking forward to the first weigh-in to see that it's all been worth it, but I'll...

You're definitely right there! I'm at my BF's today and he likes really bland food so I didn't fancy his dinner anyway. I'm dreading getting home and seeing what my parents are eating tomorrow. Boo!

Hi Broxi, it's been a long day! but I'm hanging in there. I'm quite hungry right now so just gulping down the water and trying to remember what the end result of all of the effort will eventually be! How about you?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone could tell me if it's ok to drink redbush (rooibos) tea whilst on SS? I've been drinking black coffee so far but its really making my tongue furry! ;) Also, is it ok to have the sugar free coffee flavouring syrups in black coffee? I was thinking no...

Well, today is my first day! I had apple and cinnamon porridge for breakfast - the taste was ok but I found the texture of the apple very strange. If you don't chew too much, it seems to help :) I then had the butterscotch shake for lunch which I didn't get mixed well enough so there were...

    friend wanted

This is my first day today and I'd love to join in. I had apple and cinnamon porridge for breakfast and now I'm filling up on water. My evil BF is now making himself some toast right in front of me ;) and he's making us watch a cooking programme on TV. Evil, I tell you!

    ratings on porridge?

I found the apple and cinnamon porridge to have some really disturbing squidgy chunks in it - assuming it was the apple!

Thanks for the encouraging words everyone! I have an appointment with a local CDC on Friday so I'll see how the first week goes. The only thing I'm worried about is the price as I'm 5ft 7 3/4 inches tall so I might have to go for the 4 meals per day.

    Day 1 TODAY!

Hi Cate, just wanted to say good luck to you! I'm hoping to start my first day tomorrow so fingers crossed for us both. It's encouraging to see that you've made it through the first day and that you're not hungry (I'm really worried about that as I tend to feel quite faint when I'm hungry).

Hi everyone, This is the first time I've been on this forum. I've known in the back of my mind for years now that I really need to lose weight but I've always just really ignored it until tonight. I'm 5ft 8 and a size 20ish, but lately my boobs seem to have taken on a life of their own, and...
