I did lose alot of hair while on SS, it started around week 14/15 and has only now stopped coming out as bad, 3 months since i reached goal. I didn't have any bald patches just general thinning, but my hair had never recovered post pregnancy and with this on top it's not too hot at the moment...
I'm just under 6ft, my goal was 13 stone, i'm 12stone 12lb at the moment :) I might in the future lose a bit more but wouldn't want to be less than 12 stone as i tend to look very drawn in the face at less than that.
Varies from day to day but today was
Breakfast- Muesli with pear and strawberries
Lunch- Ham salad sandwich
Dinner-Chicken and veg stirfry
Snacks- Banana, Apple, handful of grapes, 2 biscuits :)
Thanks FYP, it was hard at times like over Christmas and partys etc but i just wanted to get to goal so much that i was determined i would not give in.
It's funny now that i'm eating again i look back on it and think wow how did i do it but most of the time i didn't think about it i just got...
Hitched? I was a regular on there for a few years but don't really go on much now, still lurk sometimes though ;)
Best of luck with CD, it's life changing :D
Welcome to minimins Loopy (are you also that name on another site?) If you wanting to do SS then yes i think your doc needs to be informed, but not if your doing SS+? Could be wrong though, it's all changed since i started, lol :D
Well done Dutch, and enjoy 790. Will be interested to hear how you get on with your lady lumps as i'm in the same boat at the moment and just thinking about going to see the doc to ask about it :)
Just managed to get back on, thank you all so much for your lovely words, been a bit of a blubbering wreck reading through them all, it´s fab to have so much support x :thankyou:
Thanks everyone :)
Need to take some photos, i haven't taken any for ages, just never seem to get round to it but i will get my hubby to take some this weekend. I'm interested to compare them myself, though the before ones are awful, i know that much :o
Tracy, i started at 25 stones 5lb...
It's up to you really but i did AAM every 5 weeks as per the rules when i started and it didn't slow my losses down at all. In fact some of my AAM weeks i lost more than when on SS. Didn't have any trouble getting back on to SS, the amount you have is pretty tiny anyway so i didn't find it too...
40 weeks ago tonight i was eating my last supper, ready to start SS the next day. I was the most fed up i have ever been in my life, Cambridge was for me the last resort, where i was going to turn if it didn't work i wasn't sure but i knew i had to give it my best shot.
Never did i imagine in...
Well for the first few days i'll be honest they didn't take away my hunger but get through that and once your in Ketosis you don't feel hungry and it's fab. Good luck :D
Well it's up to you really. I started working up them at about bmi 27 as i wanted to take it slowly and to be honest i was ready to start eating again after so long on SS. I did 2 weeks on AAM then around 6 weeks on 810 and i'm now on the 1000 plan and still losing :)
Good luck with whatever...
Good luck lillypop, i know when you have alot to lose it can seem like a massive mountain to climb but i'm sure with such a positive attitude you will do it :D
:wow: Well done Mandy, what a fantastic achievement, you've done so so well!!!! Good luck with maintainance, it is a bit scary at first, i'm on the 1000 plan now and loving it although it's strange being out of ketosis and feeling actual hunger again
You stop when your happy Dutch and not before. I've had the same for the last stone, my face does go quite thin when i lose weight so people assume i'm smaller than i am, even when i tell them i'm still over bmi 25 and a size 14 they just say well you've lost enough now. And the funny thing is a...
Soup, i use a balloon whisk, no nasty froth and it's quick and easy. Sparkling water is fine. I knew i was in Ketosis as the hunger had gone and i had a funny taste in my mouth :)
Hi Helena, welcome to minimins :)
Cambridge say a stone a month so you should easily have 8 stone off by the end of the year, I've been on it 7.5 months and have lost almost 11.5 stones. I found the first few days the hardest but after the first week, once your in Ketosis it is so much...
Don't feel guilty louisa, he wouldn't of sent them if he'd not wanted to. We don't bother with presents usually (just exchange cards) but i got a lovely bouquet of flowers this morning which was a nice suprise.
Enjoy the rest of your Valentines Day :)
Awwwwwww, thanks so much everyone. You've made my day with your lovely comments :)
Gilly, part of me wishes i had kept a diary but i was worried it would be so dull and no one would read it that i never started one.
Marry Poppins, i'm waiting until i get to goal to do photos. I've not taken...
Thank you everyone for your lovely words, your all fab xxx :)
poohbearmufc, not at all. I started at a size 28 trousers(which were starting to get tight on my waist:() I'm now a 14 in tops pretty much, although i have some 12's and a 16 in trousers. Hoping when i've got the last 11lb off i...
Feel all embarrassed now, lol :o
To be honest i've not done anything special. Had at least 5ltrs of water a day, and stuck to it, 100%. My top tip would just be to keep going, i've had some really tough times when i would normally of turned to food but i've had to get through them and it's...
Sorry to disagree but that's not the case for everyone, i've lost 5lb on WW before in a week and it wasn't my first week either.
Paul, had you drunk lots of water before your weigh in? My weigh in is at 6-6.30pm so i usually stop drinking at around 3pm and when i get weighed then my cdc scales...
I felt the same when i moved up too, it's strange after being on SS for a while but i'm loving 790. I thought the portions seemed massive at first too but have to say after almost 2 weeks on it i'm used to them now.
Well done on your fantastic loss so far and hope you enjoy moving up the plans :D
I do find it easier to drink mon-fri than weekends as we usually have alot more going on then and are out and about more. That said i still do try and get at least 4ltrs down me on a weekend, but through the week can manage up to 6ltrs some days.
Don't be down, not everyone is the same. I didn't lose less than 4lb a week until week 18 so there's really no way of telling. Some weeks you may only lose 2/3 but then have a bigger loss the week after, as long as it is coming off, that's the main thing. Good luck :D
Soups-love love love the veg!!! Also like potato and leek. Not fussed for the others.
Shakes-don't have them, couldn't stomach the taste.
Bars-love them all except cranberry.
Tetras-never tried banana, love the choc one.
You can do it Minty, you haven't failed at all. The shakes do taste strange at first, and to be honest i don't have them now as after 2 weeks i still couldn't stomach them so i live off choc tetras, bars and veg soup!! What other flavours have you got to try, i know you say you couldn't stomach...
Well mine went haywire, and i bled pretty much non stop for the first 14/15 weeks, i actually had to get some tablets from the doctors to stop me bleeding. they seemed to do the trick though as my cycle has been normal since. It should settle down, my cdc said most people who have TOTM problems...
I was just the same when i started, thought i would be the one that it didn't work for and was so nervous about going for my weigh ins. After a few weeks though i think you find it easier to relax when you see the lbs falling off!!
Good luck for tomorrow, i'm sure you will of done fab :D
What did you have to eat Colleen? Was it actually swallowing it that you had a problem with? For my first few AAM, i kept it quite simple and had chicken and brocolli but mixed it in with my soup to make it a chunky type one. Not sure if that would make it easier for you :)
Yay me :D (sorry to brag :o) I'm so happy to be nearing my goal, but nervous about working up the plans and ultimately keeping it off. Can't quite believe i've lost 11 stone, doesn't seem real somehow, even though i've been lighter than this before, when i put the weight back on i never thought...
Everyone has different tastes, some others hate, you may love. The best idea is just to try one of everything and see, i love the veg soup and the potato and leek is quite nice :)
I don't find the bars any more filling than any of the other packs, they are nice though, my favs are the caramel...
Thanks :)
Not got any recent ones. Will hopefully be at goal in next few weeks so will take some final ones then and post them (If i'm brave enough as the before ones are awful )
It does get easier, hang in there :) I cried to my husband on the 1st and 2nd nights that i couldn't do it, it was too hard, i was too hungry etc etc. I took myself off to bed early so that i didn't have to sit up feeling hungry(and sorry for myself)
By the end of the first week i felt loads...
Hedgemag 12lbs Lost 5lbs

Angelchops 18lbs (optimistic!) lost 7
Jacci 20lbs-lost 5lbs!
Westiegirl 12lbs...
My first 7 weeks i lost 48lb, so just short of 3.5 stones but that's with week 1+2 which were big losses. It wouldn't be as much as that on an average 7 weeks :)
Have bought a few bottles of perfume and far too many clothes(although these are necessity, not a treat;)) Will probably have a lovely night away in a posh hotel with my hubby once i get to goal :)
Hi Colleen, not a cdc so can't help but have you asked your own cdc about it? She should be able to tell you if it's ok or not. Hope you get something sorted, i know how awful constipation can be and that's without having ibs.
I've not had anything apart from my AAM weeks and i did AAM Christmas day and Boxing day, i've been on SS for 29 weeks. That's not to say i've never thought oh i could just eat(whatever was tempting me at the time) but i made the commitment to myself that i would do this without cheating and as...
I think you can have 4 a day, it's only the bars that are limited as far as i know. Have you tried the bars yet? I don't have any shakes at all, really can't stomach them, so since week 2 all i've had is veg soup, choc tetras and a few of the bars. The choc tetras are lovely split in half and...
I think Russiandoll has hit the nail on the head, but as she says it does pass. I found day 9/10 really hard but by the time my second week was over i felt ok again. Stick with it, your doing really well, 11lb is a great loss :)
That's good to know Georgie as i'm thinking of going to see my sister in Lanzarote in a few weeks. Was wondering how i would manage without my tetras!!!
I'm sure i'll be a bit like this at first too when i move to 790 and probably as i move up the other steps too. It's coming out of something that you know works for you and venturing into the unknown isn't it? I'm sure you will have lost, lots of people on here have fantastic losses on 790. Good...
Thanks everyone for your support, your all lovely :)
Is it sad that the thing i'm most looking forward to having on 790 is a cup of tea- WITH MILK :rotflmao: (I really do need to get out more, lol)
Congratulations and well done Georgie on reaching your goal!! :party0019:
What a fantastic and heartfelt post, your a brilliant inspiration to me and no doubt countless others on here. You will do great with maintenance, i'm sure of that :)
Wow, can hardly believe the time has come to finish SS, seems like only yesterday i was starting. Have decided that as it's my AAM week starting tonight then it makes sense just to carry on after this week instead of going back down to SS. I'm going to do 3 weeks AAM before moving up to 790...
Think i have sorted it out now ladies, hope everyones is correct and up to date. If not then i give up too, lol :D

Good luck. I had 12 stone to lose when i started so i know how daunting it is. You'll be fine, just keep glugging the water and stick with the plan and the weight will fall off. I started on a Sat too and did find the first few days hard but not everyone is the same. By the time your first weigh...
I usually aim for a pint an hour, if i start early enough in the day i get 5l down me and can usually stop around 8ish and just have a little drink after that so i'm not at the toilet all night. Yesterday was a good day for me, managed 6l
I'm on 4 a day and usually have mine, 2/3pm, 7pm, 9pm, 10.30pm May seem strange to some but evenings were always my worst time for food cravings and so this is how i started out doing it and have just carried on from there. :)
They say a stone a month, usually a little bit more in your first month so i would think you could easily have 5 stone of by your hols :D
I've lost just over 10 stone in 28 weeks :)
Well done, 12lb in less than a week is fantastic!!! I love the choc tetras too, i usually split mine and top it up in a cup with some hot water, makes lovely hot choc( (dont put too much water in though or it will taste bland) Warms you up lovely when it's cold :D
I bled for the first 14 weeks or so pretty much non stop and it didn't seem to affect my losses but now that my cycle has settled down again i have had weeks where i've not lost as much :)
Hi Claire, welcome to minimins. I know it can seem like a huge mountain to climb when you have so much to lose, i started out with 12 stones to lose, have now lost 10 stones 5lb. Good luck with your first week, stay positive, you can do this :)
Sounds like you've got the water thing sussed :D I'm not sure with Ketosis to be honest, I know that those who cut out carbs in preperation would probably get into it quicker but i didn't bother and was in it by day 3
Well done so far Dennie, you sound really motivated, which is fab. Like everyone has said make water your new best friend, stick to the plan and just watch the weight fall off!!
Look forward to hearing how you've done when you go for your 1st week weigh in, sounds like you will have a great...
They say it's usually better to sip it over a period of time rather than all in one go, what i do is fill a pint glass every hour-ish and then that's my drink for that hour, repeat throughout day lol. I don't tend to drink much after 8pm or i'd be weeing all night :D
What a complete a*se. I've been there before and i know just how you feel, why don't these people think before they engage their mouths?? Guess they don't have much of a brain to think with!! Well done for getting stuck back into it, you can do this :hug99:
Well done on getting to day 3 :)
1) best place to buy psyllium husks? is it the powder as opposed to capsules that we go for? I bought the powder from Holland&Barrett but i think it's cheapest from here.
Psyllium Husks Digestive Fibre - 300g tub
I've now got the capsules though as i didn't...
Good luck with starting Cambridge, my hands and feet are freezing at the moment too, doesn't help when it's so cold outside!!! As for the hunger i think by the end of the first week when i was well into Ketosis i didn't feel hungry anymore. Shouldn't be long for you now :)
I've now lost over 10 stone and do have saggy bits, but i've never had the body of a supermodel anyway, even when i was slim before. I have bingo wings(always have had though) my stomach is a bit saggy but it's not too bad considering the amount i've lost and the fact it was stretched so much...
Don't worry louisa, if you have stuck to it 100% it would be very very unusual for you not to have lost. I'm sure you will be pleased. Usually the weeks when i think i've done rubbish are my best weeks!!
Good luck :D
I know just what you mean. Having so much to lose i knew when i started that i would be on it for at least 10 months(it's worked out a little bit quicker:D) The first night i sat and thought about not eating for that length of time and it totally freaked me out, i just didn't think i could go...
I've got to say that i am suffering pretty bad with the hair loss, but that's not the case for everyone. Mine started around week 14 and i lose quite alot when i wash it and when it's tied back i can see my scalp in places where my hair has thinned(though it's not big bald patches more a gradual...
That's brilliant, well done. It's lovely when your clothes start getting looser, it really spurs you on i think. The only down side of getting slimmer is the bank balance!! (or is it just me who is addicted to buying clothes:rotflmao:)
Well done on the 8lb Sam, that's fab. I too think you would be a fab cdc, it won't be long now until your bmi is at 28 so like you say no harm in mentioning it sooner rather than later. I was interested but i can't decide if i should do it or not, not sure if i would be any good. Need to think...
I know what you mean, i thought the same my first week until the lovely people on minimins talked some sense into me ;) 11lb is a fab amount, keep it up honey :D
Good luck with your restart Russiandoll. Do be kind to yourself about the weight thing, life can throw some horrible things at you sometimes and it's all you can do to keep going everyday, let alone do something as hard as stick to a diet. I was slim about 5 years ago after losing 8 stone, vowed...
