Good on you, Dejay. Husband is in a very similar situation to you and didn't do quite as well (6); he is facing the snarkiness from others though. Anyone that says guys don't get flack is lying. Keep it up - you'll be there before you know it.

Sauce, I understand the frustration. I dropped massive numbers in my first weeks of LL, but haven't done that with CD. That said, two big things have changed - I haven't been having a lot of carbs so have less of that to lose (unlike b4 LL), and now I have severe PCOS, which has totally slowed...

Me too, Muhly - need one fairly early to feel like I'm 'up', or I'm fairly vapid. Generally, if something goes pear shaped, and I can't have a shake on time, I am unpleasant to be around! Consistent patterns and routines are a key for me.

It really can get quite snarky. That said, it makes it very clear who your real friends are!

I find the 'hot' chocolate wonderful of an evening. Definitely helps me wind down and sleep better.

I find the need to add spices to the packs as well. Cinnamon is definitely a friend, with the added bonus of helping to stabilise hormones : )

Massages, paticularly with high vitamin E oils are my reward. Non food related, and helps the skin too : )

I'mm on a VLCD as well. My specialist didn't forbid the use of metformin while on VLCD; all she said was that VLCDs were as good an idea as any to lose weight.

For me, the pcos specialist said that metformin wasn't advisable, due to my BMI.

My consultant said this week that the hair wouldn't go away, it just wouldn't get any worse than it currently is.

I agree - it's cheaper. As well, because you don't spend so much time in supermarkets, you don't have to grapple with 'impulse buys'.
