    SS+ dinner last night & a question

I've had aubergines on SS+ and stayed in ketosis, not sure if really allowed, but I find they work like spinach and do wonders for the bathroom visits (sorry if this is TMI!). Tx

Concerned about my CDC - HELP PLEASE?

Hi Liz - your CDC may not realise the implications of her comments. She may see your loss as motivational, and not recognise that she could hurt/insult someone. Who knows why CD works for us when loads of other diets haven't. Your ex-client & CD just might not gel. I would express your...

    SS+

Hi Wobbly 71 - I'm doing SS+, and have done since day 1. I love my evening meal, and love being able to choose some real food when I do the family shop. on cambridge...why i m not loosing weight?

Hi mamateddy I had similar experience at wk5 - nothing lost for first 5 days, gave up getting on scales at home as I was getting depressed, even thought of not getting on at WI, did and showed 4lb loss. As KD said, I think the body regulates as we lose fat by storing water, which dissappears...

    aquaban..?

Hi folks - I was taking aquaban for about 7 days before my TOTM. I have ALWAYS suffered water retention (fat feet, hands and cankles!) since about age 20 and even when I was a v.slim size 12. It helps release fluid from the body, so is a form of diuretic. I stopped taking it when I started...

    O/T Psychic Reading

Hi rachele - I have SS+'d since day one. 26lbs in 5-half weeks, so going well. I've stuck with the fish and chicken, but have had salmon and 3-4tbs of veg rather than the 2. A conscious choice to increase veg, but it has worked well for me. My CDC reckons the difference can be around 2-3lbs...

I think I need tl change my CDC

Glad you have a new CDC. CD is a difficult diet and total change of life for many. CDC's have a duty to provide an exacting, supportive service. My CDC is superb, chatty, supportive, empathetic, weighs me and has endless patience as I chose my food at my WI session. My CDC and minimins are...

Hi there - I agree with Liz, look at it in 2 week phases - helps the head as well as the body!! I have actually changed my WI dates to odd times - next time will be 9 days to WI, last time it was 8. This helps me psychologically, I know it is daft but if I have a bad week it would knock me...

    fell of the wagon

Hi there - try not to be so down. In the past now and time to move onwards and upwards. Why not talk to your CDC and see if moving to SS+ during your TOTM week would be a good option. You can them plan food (albiet vlcd/lowcarb) and have the best chance of keeping on track. Tx

    Which Scales should i trust?

I've found the opposite with my Wii - they weigh me heavier than my regular scales (regular on tiled floor, Wii on solid wood floor). Tesco sell their own range electronic scales for £6.00 and they are spot on! Almost paid £40 for Salter, and so glad I didn't. Tx

    bmr help

Hi Pillboy - does sound a lot, but depends on your build, current weight, lifestyle etc. Rule of thumb is reduction of 3500 calories = 1lb loss in weight. So if the calculation is correct, then dropping 7000 cals a week shoudl give you your 2lbs weight loss. Tx

    Price Increase

I pay £1.80 per shake, soup, porridge & £1.95 if I had bars (which I dont cos I'd be toooo greedy with them!). Not tried tetras so not sure. Majority of CDCs seem to be charging around this. But as someone said, no class fees and I'm happy with this as I get good support from my CDC. Tx
  104. Tracey1404

    ss+ Are we allowed vinegar?

Hi Zoe - I'm on SS+ and was happily having lemon juice on my fish until my CDC said it was a strict no-no. However a recent post (from moderator KD if I remember correct) said it was ok to have pickled cabbage, so I'm assuming vinegar would be okay. No definitive answer I'm...

Week 8 WI: 3 stone GONE!

Fab losses week on week Guru. Huge pat on the back! Cant wait till I hit the 3st milestone, I'll be halfway there. Like you I aint gonna feel like I've really lost until I'm in the 15s. Bizzare concept, cos 18lb in 3 weeks is amazing, and I must remember that!! Tx

    cravings!

Dont cheat!! It is slippery road to nowhere (well actually it is a very slippy road to failure!). If you find SS difficult, and do want to join in social times, then talk to your CDC about SS+. You can then choose sensibly, or ask the restaurant for grilled chicken / fish and steamed veg...

    struggling on day 17 :(

Hi - agree with Em, it really is worth pressing on. I'm at start of week 4 and have opp problem to you - no totm yet - 4 days late which is really, really unusual. So i'm ever so slighty grumpy, and like you feeling bored today. Also between sizes in clothes and impatient cos nothing fits...

    Question??

Hi - agree with others, you must to replace all the nutrients lost by not eating "regular" food. I often struggle as I do SS+ and after my evening meal rarely feel like a last CD pack. Tx

Hi there - you are not weak and pathetic. I'd say strong and determined having taken the step to do CD. Finding your way around it is the next step. As others have said experiment, my fav is choc and mint made as hot drink in the evening, to me tastes so much different. Also really worth...

    how does cambridge diet work?

Just to support the last comment - it works brilliantly! I pay £1.80 per pack (£37.80 a week). Having struggled to lose any significant amount of weight on all sorts of diets, including radical ones, I've lost 18lbs in 3 weeks, and I feel great. Well worth the investment if you are determined...

How has minimins helped you and could you have done it without?

All sentiments shared. This site recommended to me by the person who inspired me to try CD. In week 3 and I couldn't have done it solo, or even just with support of family & friends. I feel part of a strong, vibrant, funny, happy and helpful community. Meeting folk you wouldn't ordinarily...

    Do you weigh yourself?

Hi folks - interested to hear how many of us weigh ourselves, and how often. Strange that I've only had retention once during 2 weeks...

    SS+ 200 cal meals - any ideas?

    SS+ 200 cal meals - any ideas?

Hi folks - 2 weeks on SS+ and looking for good ideas for tasty 200 calorie meals. Okay - not many calories to play with, but white fish, chicken, spinach, pakchoi and mushrooms will very soon be testing my low boredom threshold!! Help anyone??:wave_cry:

    First week WI (Yeh!)

Thanks to everyone for their support - I put at least half the loss down to the motivation I get from all on minimins! Doing CD without this forum would be so much harder. Tx

    Body parts

Hi folks - get a set of thigh trimmers, fantastic for inner and outer thighs, and you can also use to tone arms too! I discovered them at Pilates class about 3 years ago,and wouldn't be without them. Cheap too at about a fiver.

I sat down on the tube today

Good milestone Guru - how much easier will that make life, especially NOT having to decide what people might think about you. Continuing challenge is fighting the get a seat on the tube!!

    What to expect

Hi there - I had a ropey day 2 and rotten day 3 - headache, feeling a bit out of sorts. Day 4 - felt great, a bit elated and hunger gone. Stick with it ..... it's worth getting through the first week.

    First week WI (Yeh!)

Cheers Liz, I was well pleased with going over the half-stone mark. Barry is a Bedlington Terrier - and in need of a trim in his piccy!!

    First week WI (Yeh!)

First week WI and 8lbs gone on SS+. Really happy with this as I have bad water retention today. I am sooooo pleased! Looking forward to wk 2 on SS+.

    Its a race...

Hi Liz - just CD along - and sing the "It will fit" mantra. Whatever you do, dont do what I did and buy a Trinny and Suzannah body stocking. Never, ever again. I deserved to lose 2 stone just getting into it, had an oversized head and legs by the end of the day it was so tight, and nearly ended...

New here and starting cd tomorrow

Hi there - welcome to minimins - superb support forum. I'm just nearing end of week one on SS+, and have found this forum to be really supportive and motivational. Hope you have a good CD journey!

    Men on the CD

    Still here despite the blips!!

Hi imagisal - I travel a fair bit with my job to, both within UK and overseas. Would be interested to hear if it is possible to aim to to SS+ but move to 810 or 1000 if needs be for a couple of days as it is not always possible to be in control of food, especially overseas when being...

    advice help!

Hi- I wouldn't mess around with this one. Take the tamiflu and move the 1200 today. If it is swine flu (or even if you suspect it is) it is more important to reduce its impact asap. If it means a few pounds gain, so what? CD will be waiting for you when you are well.

What do you plan on doing that you haven't done since being overweight?

Hi Zoe - weird!! I have only this morning agreed with my eldest step-son to visit Go Ape in Wyre Forest, Worcs, as soon as I feel comfy enough the climb the rope ladders. He went for his girlfriends b'day a couple of weeks ago and raved about it eversince. I have set myself a 3.5st target before...

    Migraines

Hi Toots - how often are you getting them? I have both hormonal and trigger migraines. Hormonal are no problem, just more of a nuisance. Trigger migraines are a different thing altogether. My triggers are cheese, bananas and oranges in combination. Solo they are fine, any 2 together and I...

    Water and weight loss

Thanks everyone for your posts - turned into an interesting debate on pros and cons of H20. This really is a great forum for airing thoughts, ideas and all those things we dont know much about!

    Water and weight loss

Thanks for your post. Just had private reply from a CDC. The water part is for rehydration only, so drinking enough to replace what we lose by being on CD is enough. If you tend to retain water, then drinking a little more will help. Other than that the equation "Water consumption = weight...

What outfit are you most looking forward to wearing?

lunarjim - thanks for sharing this one. This happened to me a while back when shopping for my neice. The sales assistants actually nudged each other and smirked. Even though my head tells me to ignore them, I still felt really humiliated, then more than a bit annoyed (with me for caring and...

    Water and weight loss

Hi - sorry to ask such a basic question, but ...currently drinking around 4 pts of water a day, plus around 2pts of no-calorie hot drinks. Is this enough and would drinking more aid weight loss? I note some people when they have big loss week add comment "more water" - think I'm missing the...

Day 60 of SS and I Can See.............

Well done Charlie - how lovely. Enjoy the feeling, it was well earned.

    After carefull consideration...

Hi special K - I started this week SS+, with first WI due Monday afternoon. All I can say is prepare yourself for the first 4 days. I found days 2 & 3 hard work 'cos of the headache and slight dizziness. One user suggested I split my shakes in half. I did this with choc & mint on days 2 and...

    Post Your Measurements !

Great to see all these wonderful reducations, but OMGoodness folks - time may allow me to post mine, shame prevents me at the moment. Happy to share my thoughts as my measurements were taken: Chest: Never! Who gave me those? Waist: What waist?! Hips: Even the world childbearing dont cover that...

What outfit are you most looking forward to wearing?

Size 14 skinny jeans and a black firetrap T-shirt from a local private boutique that don't stock things that fit me at the moment. Trying on, buying and walking out with the bag of do-fits will be a defining moment for me!!

U could have a point Laura!

    Ketosis..

cheers - with you on the photograph front - one of my goals is to stop avoiding mirrors (the person I see aint the person I feel inside)! Will post WI results here on Monday eve.

    Been counting my pennies...

Hi Angela - good for you to have a plan! Sure you will be fine by the time you reach maintenance - great weight loss so far. Hope you enjoyed glugging!

    tired eyes

Hi nessx - I had tired eyes Thurs/Friday, never thought it could have been CD, however they were unusually tired to the point where I stopped working for an hour or so. They feel tired this pm. Wonder if anyone else has had the same.
  236. Tracey1404

    Ketosis..

Well done Dizzyflowers. I went into ketosis on day 4 this week too - lovely to get rid of that headache. Great news on your sneaky weigh-in, no wonder you are super motivated. Hope I get good news at my first WI on Monday. Let's keep each other posted, we've got roughly same amount of weight...

Any one have more than 2tbs of veg on SS+

Hi CDC - interesting that I posted this thread today. This evening I had vietnamese river cobbler (superb white fish when grilled) and 4-5 tbs of green veg. Greedy me & lucky me - I actually couldn't finish it!! Nice position to be in (although i'm shocked to my boots!. Lesson learnt and back to...

    Stopped cambridge..

What better reason could there be for a refund!! Congratulations to you both. Hope you have a lovely pregnancy.

    Wish me luck

So pleased to hear your dad is on the mend, & huge congrats on being 100% SS, even while cooking. I'm sure if you can be so focussed at such a difficult time you will reach goal without problem!

Any one have more than 2tbs of veg on SS+

Thanks mrsessex and newcastlechick - good to hear. Could put down a comment re 2 tbs of veg, but it would probably upset the moderator! Good to see the losses are good even with more than 2 tbs.
  241. Tracey1404

    constipation?

It is another reason I chose SS+ over SS. Spring green cabbage and spinach seem to do the trick!
  242. Tracey1404

back from my weigh in and..............

Well done Lisa - can't wait to go to my 1st WI on Monday, hopefully be back reporting a good news story all of my own!
  243. Tracey1404

OMG i did it i have completed my first ticker challenge

Great news - well done. Another wonderful minimins inspirational story to keep me on track - what would I do without minimins now!!

Not a happy bunny (Food Mentioned)

Hi - my guess would be that you have gained muscle due to all the working - & it weighs twice as heavy as fat. I doubt you have put on fat at all. At the end of the day weight loss is a simple calculation of more calories out than in, and you seem to have done that (well done by the way)...
  245. Tracey1404

    Given up !!

Hi there - that's sad but it is tough. Would you DH consider SS+? I chose this from the outset 'cos I knew I wouldn't cope well (if at all) without a meal to look forward too. It is also nice to have still have something to chose for me when we do the shopping. Just back from M&S (not where...

Exercise - what do you do?

I'm sooooo jealous! My sister does spinning and I'd love to join her - dodgy knees rule it out entirely! Careful not to burn too many calories though - a 400 cal session will only leave you less than a 100 cals to live on if you are doing SS! Just make sure you keep well.

** Slender Saturday Hour by Hour***

Hi folks - I've had a busy, happy morning so far - all domestic and nothing too exciting. Off to Next to get some joggers, then JJB's for some new trainers, then Boots for some bath oils, new makeup and generally pamper myself products. My other half wants to go to B&Q for some drainpipe...
