To all those that have had success, just a quick question...

Hmmmm I hate my thighs. I wouldn't hate them so much if it wasn't for the cellulite. But they're the fattest part of me. Literally, tree trunks. Between 15 and 12 stone they've shrunk by approx 6 inches. Now, if they were to shrink by another 6 inches I'd be thrilled, but I'm not sure that's...

A year in the life of a loser

Gosh, is this diary old or what? I’ve not been here in forever! I’m eighteen now (nearly nineteen) and unfortunately the journey is still ongoing. I’m 12 stone 5lb now, which is still far too high for me, but a million miles away from what I started at (almost 18 stone!) Unfortunately I’ve had...

    So Far To Go...

Believe me, I know how you feel. I started out with over seven stone to lose. It is difficult and there are times when you might feel like it's impossible - but it isn't! :) I've lost 5 stones now and have about two more to go. Now that I've lost that amount, two stone actually doesn't seem...

'BIG' .......Bring on the summer :D

Eeeek - long time no see! I've not posted on here for several months. Long story short I got a bit lazy in the few months before Christmas and basically stopped losing weight (too much rubbish food and little to no exercise.) But thankfully, for the most part I've maintained. :) I'm kicking...

'BIG' .......Bring on the summer :D

I gained an lb this week, which I'm annoyed by, but I know why I did. I didn't watch my calories closely enough, didn't do enough exercise, ate too much salt the day before weigh in day and didn't drink enough water throughout the week. It's no wonder really! And I've had two terrible days...

the "i want to lose 50lb by 2011" thread

Oh - I haven't been on Wemitts in so long! I went through a funny four or five weeks where I didn't exercise much, didn't each too well and basically didn't lose anything. But I've got back on track (for the most part) and have dropped a few lbs in the last couple of weeks. I now only have 3lbs...

Lost 2 1/2 this week! That means I'm finally in the 13s - wohooo! :D That's not that exciting in itself, but the 13s are only a stone from the 12s and 12st-something will be the least I've been in years! Still a long way to go, but I can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel. Well...

    Loose Skin? :O

^ Personally I do think loose skin exists. I've seen people on the internet who have folds and folds of it, despite being at a low body fat %. Yeah, I know what you mean. My goal has and always will be 140lbs (10 stone.) But I'm trying to get to 164 initially as it's less intimidating. I started 86lb overweight! I'll join - although I can guarantee you I won't be able to lose 50lb by the new year! So I'll shoot for 60-70% of that, so 30-35lbs, if that's OK. Another 50lb or so is my long, long term goal though - hopefully achievable by this time next year.

    Which diet are you doing?

I'm doing calorie counting. I've lost nearly 4 stone on it! Why after exercising am I so so hungry!!!!!!

Yeah, it's totally natural that when you exercise very hard or very often you will need more food. I tend to eat a banana pre-workout and a few eggs or some lean turkey post-workout! :) Your muscles need the protein.

Actually I lost 3lb last week. No idea why I typed 2lb! I also did a "ten minute target toning" video at the weekend. It was one heck of a killer! Ten minutes of toning exercises on every major muscle group - including some weights for the arms. I can still feel it today, particularly in my...

    Waitressing

Do you know what you burn when totally sedentary? Generally, what your burn whilst on your feet is double that of your sedentary burn. So say you burn 100 sedentary = 200 for being on your feet and then add on the walking. Perhaps another 100-200. So theoretically you could have burnt almost...

It's so difficult to say, since we all vary so much and I can't say for certain what size I will be when I've lost x amount of weight. OK, my opinion on BMI is pretty much the same as everyone else in here - it's merely a guideline (and not always a very accurate one, either!) 'BIG' .......Bring on the summer :D

Welcome to the thread Claire and Red. Good luck! :) It seems so much more attainable now. It'll sure feel good to be "overweight." Tehee. Great! And yes, we can. Great goal. I started out with a similar BMI to you (I think I started at 38) and now to be down almost 8 BMI points is amazing...

How do you know when to stop?

I agree - I'm only halfway there with my weightloss, but I think it'll be tough knowing when to stop. My current plan is to just get to a "healthy" BMI - which is about 40lbs away (I think.) But my ultimate target is about 140lbs. But I'll have to see how I feel. I may be happy when I get to...

    How does it work calorie-wise?

All the information in the Slimming World books, online etc. is that you do not have to count calories on SW and that it is not about calories. However, since research shows that the only way to lose approximately a 1lb is to create a calorie deficit of 500 calories (by diet or exercise,) is...

    Exercise Motivation

Yesterday I did an hour of cardio - stairs and skipping. Quite intense stuff. Then I walked around the supermarket for an hour (I think that counts as mild exercise.) Today I've done 25 minutes of stairs - again, very intense. I was gasping towards the end.

Clothes Size - How much weight had you to lose to drop a size?

    Favourote breakfast

What I do whenever I reach one of these is reduce my calorie intake to about 700-800, but only for a week. I...
