    Hello! It's been a while...

Thank you :) Sue, I had a little girl, Freya, to add to my not-so-little-anymore boy :)

    Hellooooooooooooooooo I am back !!

Welcome back! I am back too after too long - it's nice to see some familiar names :)
  4. Harry'sMom07

    Hello! It's been a while...

Hi everyone, I'm back! :D I've been away for aaaages, but have had a baby in the meantime. Unfortunately, it was too tempting to use pregnancy as an excuse to eat my bodyweight in cake and chocolate, so I now have at least 3 stones to lose to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I rejoined...

Need ideas for meals on camping trip, please

We've just camped at the weekend and for brekkies we have the usual bacon, egg, (low-syn) sausage, beans, mushrooms and tomatoes if you like them (I don't!). Then for other meals we had either mugshots or pasta pots, and we took a bolognese sauce, then cooked spaghetti to go with, and the next...

    3rd superfree food??

I'm not a fan of toms either, so with a 'fry up', I tend to leave a gap next to my mushrooms that makes up the 1/3 of my plate, then if I'm not too full, I'll have an apple or banana after. Or grapefruit before :)
  7. Harry'sMom07

    Quick question

If you're doing EE, try to make sure you're having at least 1/3 superfree food with your meal to stop you from overeating on the carbs and protein. What did you have in/with your carbonara that was superfree?

    The Mini Pill

I was on cerazette for a while and it was great. No side effects for me, although my skin did possibly get a bit spottier than on the combined pill (but wasn't great anyway). No periods is the best bit though! (They do come back after you stop taking it, don't worry!) I put on weight, but...

    SW Panic Button

TBH, I never do any exercise :( I know I should, but I just can't fit everything in and my family, my job and my degree studies are just more important at the moment. Housework is at the bottom of the list along with the exercise! I plan my week's menu on a Friday night ready to shop Saturday...

    work/ttc issue help pls

OMG, I am disgusted that someone would tell someone else that and also that they have said it would 'rule you out'. Awful discrimination and I hope you do something about it. Keep us posted? (And good luck with ttc!!)

Had an undeserved gain - Gutted & demotivated

Half a pound is rubbish, whether it's off or on, isn't it? But, at the end of the day, as my friend told me once, it's just 'a big poo'.... You will more than likely find that you catch up next week, so stick with it and don't blow it all in anger ;)
  12. Harry'sMom07

    SW Panic Button

Thank you. Am going to get some grapes and a nice clementine from the fridge and see if that helps... :)

    SW Panic Button

HELP!!!! Really, really about to blow my syns and need someone to shout at me! It was my first weigh in as a re-joiner last night and I'd lost 4.5lbs!! Soooo chuffed. However, I have (surprisingly) had the arrival of my star week today and that, coupled with the day from hell at work means...

I'm pretty good, thanks. Managed to put on about a stone of the 4 I lost, but getting on it now ready for the summer - my clothes don't fit!!

god i forgot how hard the ..

Hellooo Ferny! Firstly, CONGRATS!!! had a quick peep at your pics and you look so great with the bump! Secondly, God, yes, it's so hard. I have rejoined at a new group this week after about 7 months of being totally off plan and feeling disgusting with myself. I've had a pretty good week...

Is it possible to keep weight off without attending classes

I got to target in April 2010 and maintained for 6 months while still attending class. Then I changed jobs and couldn't get to class as regularly, so eventually stopped going. I have just rejoined at a new class this week, as over the last 7 months or so I have put back on a stone of the 4 I...

Welcome back! I've just started back again and lost 2.5lbs this week, so feeling good again. It's fab that you have an event to aim for and you'll do it for sure :)

    Jamies italian

I am going to Jamie's Italian on Sunday - anyone any other thoughts of good-syn meals? I was looking at prawn linguine (although the prawns are pan-fried), or the monachelle puttanesca for pasta dishes, or grilled chicken, although it's a bit pricey for chicken!

    what are your views

Personally, I only have it if I'm absolutely desperate for something other than water or tea or fruit teas or if I'm having it with vodka or bacardi! It doesn't have any nutritional value, so seems at odds with SW ethos of healthy eating IYKWIM?

more HE's or Syns at Target

You're supposed to try increasing your 'b' choices until you find the right balance. For me though, that didn't work and I kept on losing weight! Plus I was getting bunged up from all the fibre. Eventually, I balanced it by being a bit more naughty at weekends and 100% in the week. Do...

Started back last night 10lb gain :(

You're not alone! I went back on Wednesday after 7 weeks off (just couldn't be arsed!:o) and have gained 8.5lbs, so have 9lbs to lose to get back to target. I wanted to rejoin so that it was a fresh challenge, but after putting my card in and getting weighed, it said I 'may' have to pay next...

    *Waving shyly* Remember me?`

Hi everyone :) I just thought I'd post and say hi - there's so many new members in the weeks since I last came on here! I am still at target (just) but am REALLY struggling lately and realised that I need some support from those that know... you! Far too many treats and naughties have...

Hi Sarah-Jayne :) This is the first time I've logged onto Mini's in about a week, cos I am in the same place you are :( As some of you know, I got to my original target of 11 stones in April, but kept on losing weight and had to reset my target twice, ending up at 10.5 stones.... and still...

    new hair colour photos

I think it looks really nice and suits you better than the dark - it does make you look younger, but I would never have said you were 38! I have hair colour and style changes/disasters quite often...
  31. Harry'sMom07

please tell me i look like i have lost weight?

You look gorgeous in all the photos, but especially so in the latter two :) You can really see a difference in your face x
  32. Harry'sMom07

    Should i be concerned?

I was going to suggest an MSG intolerance too. Best to get it checked out though hun x And avoid takeaways!!
  33. Harry'sMom07

    New photos

Unfortunately, I don't - gave up after about 2 days! Erm, basically, I stuck to plan 100%, lost every week and got to target in 6 months :D
  34. Harry'sMom07

    New photos

I have no idea. I think our C just decided it was me as no-one else has lost like me, every week and pretty quickly (I don't mean that to sound big-headed, just how I think she sees it!!) Mention it to the temp C if she doesn't mention it first x
  35. Harry'sMom07

    New photos

Thank you!! It's lovely comments from people like you guys that keep ME motivated to keep the weight off. I was told I am our group's Woman of the Year last week too, so that's a good motivator too... :D

    Fasting & SW!

I am in awe of anyone that fasts like this. I worked with a lady who would get very faint during the day, but flatly refused to break fast and have a sip of water. It seems very harsh (and a bit dangerous!). Good luck with sticking to plan Ali and Meli (and anyone else!). Although you may not...

It really does work - see? (look down) 4 stones 2lbs! :D
  40. Harry'sMom07

oooo a change on the user cp....fab!!

Tickers have always had halves. I'm at a nice, round number now, so can't show off a half :( Still can't do height halves though - I'm five-seven-and-a-half, not five-eight really :(

    IS SLIMMING WORLD FOR ME??

I have mostly done EE and lost over 4 stones between 21st October and 21st April to get to target :D It really is Extra Easy to follow and your ideas for meals are very similar to what I would have (but I'd have more fruit during the day). If you fill up on fruit and veg at mealtimes and try...

opinions on giving sweets to children

I think it's a question of balance. If you're happy about the amount of fruit, veg, protein, dairy, carbs and good fats he's getting, then a teeny bag of magic stars every other day won't hurt. My ds (almost 3) rarely had chocolate until he turned 2, then for some reason I started letting him...
  43. Harry'sMom07

Is this just a tantrum/phase my son is going thru?

Yup, mine does this too, and he's nearly 3. I just ignore him now. If he's trying to head butt the wall or hard floor I move him to somewhere softer! Perfectly normal. Odd, and worrying, but normal!
  44. Harry'sMom07

When do you think its time to leave the group??

I go every week :) I hit target in April and have only missed the week I went on holiday in the whole time I've been a member. It's my social life (I'm very sad!), so I enjoy going, chatting with the others etc. There's no reason why you couldn't go forever, if you enjoy going - at least it's...

what do you think to this dress to attend a wedding?

I saw the dress in Asda today - it's loooovely! Feels 'quality' iykwim? You will look gorgeous :D
  46. Harry'sMom07

    Still around :-)

Hi everyone Sorry I've been quiet lately, just chipping in with the odd post here and there. The truth is, I'm struggling :( Since hitting target of 11 stones in April, I've carried on losing without trying and had to reset my target twice. I'm currently 10 stones 4lbs, which is the very...

    Yankee candles

I've been using the Yankee tarts for years too :) I like fruity and floral smells, plus things like clean linen etc. I have a nice one in the car (not a tart!) called beachwalk or something?

    Urgent Help Needed RE: Fish

Can't remember the ins and outs of Mix 2 Match re hexs etc, but I think I'd probably call it an EE day and try again tomorrow!

Extra Easy Hmm not sure if silly question?

They're actually not compulsory and it won't affect your losses if you don't have them, but it is best to as they help ensure you're having enough fibre and calcium each day :)

    "Before I Fall"

I am in the middle of 'Her Fearful Symmetry' (the Audrey Niffennegger one!) right now and I think it's a grower - I am at the unputdown-able stage now! I've been looking out for the paperback of 'Before I Fall', but it's out of stock on Amazon and not in any shops I've looked in yet :(

I love those Acitivia yoghurts, but they don't love me :( Give me an awfully upset tum. Soooo delicious too :(
  55. Harry'sMom07

    Getting impatient now

Good grief! You've lost 1.5lb?! I would have gained at least that for each of the 3 weeks if I wasn't in control of my own food!! Well done you. I can understand the impatience too, but, take it from me, that half stone will go in no time once you're back on track 100% and then once you're at...
  56. Harry'sMom07

My confession. :-( 1 Week holiday ended up...

I've just had a week like that too :-( Actually, two weeks, as I went into 'holiday mode' the week before I actually went anywhere... No idea of my inevitable gain, but the up side for me is that I was about to drop below target zone, so a gain could be a good thing... I did feel so rubbish...
  57. Harry'sMom07

Anyone had there wedding rings re-sized??

Not had mine done but need to - haven't been able to wear them for a couple of months and it feels like I'm not married! :(
  58. Harry'sMom07

can these baby names be shortened?

Erin would be hard to change either way (and it's lovely!) I know a Lydia who is Lyds or Lulu. Ewan would be Ew and Lawrence can be all sorts of things!! DH liked Harry, but I wanted it to be Harrison and now he gets all sorts - Harry, Haz, Harrison David, HD and more often just 'H' :)
  59. Harry'sMom07

    Step in consultant?

So were they his scales then? If so, then surely everyone's weights could potentially be 'wrong' as they weren't weighed on their usual scales? Anyone use Liz Earle products?

I love Cleanse and Polish and have used it for years, always coming back to it if I try anything different. I don't like the moisturiser, but love the toner and eyebright. The body washes are nice too. I can't use the superbalm concentrate as I had a reaction to it, but the 'solid' stuff is...

Don't even think in terms of 'portion sizes'. Just put what looks like the right amount on your plate and eat consciously. We're off to Rhossilli next weekend for a week :D Save me some strawbs!!!
  65. Harry'sMom07

    Does it work?

    1. Yes - I've lost over 4 stones! 2. Depends, but 1-2lbs per week is good and easy to maintain. 3. Yes!! There's no way I'd have lost this much weight since October if it wasn't. Tried WW and Rosemary C and gave up after a couple of weeks as I was starving, but not with SW!
  66. Harry'sMom07

    Ok Sway me...

SW is not a quick-fix 'diet' - it is a lifelong eating plan. That said, I lost 4 stones in about 7.5 months, which is fairly quick! I'd say I averaged 2lbs a week. However, I think the steadier you lose, the more you become used to the plan and it becomes 'normal', a way of life, so the more...

    Death to TextSpeak!!!!

I'm 33 too :) I do understand that not everyone can spell and use grammar correctly, and I appreciate I was lucky to have a good education. Poor spelling doesn't bother me too much to be honest, as it's just one of those things. I think what bugs me more these days is the (incorrect) use of...

  70. Harry'sMom07

    Feeling fed up :(

Awww, don't be disheartened chicken :) You've done amazingly so far. I had weeks where I would lose only half a pound or so and it IS frustrating, but then I'd have a brill week and lose 3.5lbs! I find when I do green days that I don't eat as much, as the need to eat plenty of superfree isn't...

    Electric Toothbrush Recommendations

I just bought one from Boots as they're half price, so mine cost £15 instead of £30. It's an oral b one and kinda has 2 heads - can't remember the name but it's on the Boots website. My dentist told me off for brushing too hard with my normal toothbrush, so this one's much better and has a 2...

Erm, both! I kinda went a bit mad and didn't count syns too carefully for a few days, then have been back on track since Saturday and just had an extra 'b' choice each day.
  76. Harry'sMom07

    STS!!!!

I'd just like it to be known that for the first time since joining SW in October 2009, and despite hitting target on 21st April, this week I HAVE NOT LOST WEIGHT!!! :D:D:D I got the biggest clap and cheer when the consultant announced it at group - the new lady must have thought we were nuts...

    Target member support

Hi, I'm another target struggler! I got to target on 21st April at 10 stones 13.5lbs (wanted to get to 11 stones) and since then I have lost every week and now weigh 10 stones 7.5lbs. I'm lucky that my weigh lady lets me reset my target so I don't have to pay, but I don't actually want to lose...

    syns for mashed srawberrys

But to be honest, if I was mashing a few strawbs and would normally eat the same amount 'whole', I wouldn't syn them, as it's not as if I'm eating any more than usual and would only 'mash' them in my mouth *ducks for cover as the debate begins...* ;)
  82. Harry'sMom07

    Baby nappies which r best?

I think all nappies differ on different children and have certainly seen this in my job! I use Lidl nappies - cheaper than most and VERY absorbant in my opinion, but you'll probably have to try lots of different kinds to see what suits best :)
  83. Harry'sMom07

    What no Asda wholemeal pittas?!?!

I have only 3 left in the freezer - I only ever bought one pack in case I didn't like them, but have found I love them with chicken and salad in... typical!

Muller Lights - how many is too many?!

I couldn't possibly eat 8 yoghurts in a day! I would think you're not eating enough at mealtimes to have room for all that Muller? I have one muller over my breakfast and maybe one shape zero after lunch or tea, but only if I don't have another puddingy choice. Two a day is my limit, but even...

SW mag, anyone else think they should do less EE?

Sian made a good point - only a couple of the newer recipe books feature EE recipes, so at least having plenty in the mag gives those of us doing EE more to experiment with until the bboks catch up? If there are 6 red and 6 green recipes in the mag, and the 18 EE inlcude both, then there are...

Are we allowed to talk about Lost yet? CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!

Everything on the island really happened - they really crashed, there really was a polar bear, Dharma, The Others, Smoke Monster, Jacob, etc, etc. Once they died, they went to the 'place they created together' - ie, the flash sideways. This was life as they would have liked it to be - eg...

Advice for someone wanting to maintain

That's the thing Ian. I lost every week for 6 months and it's all I know how to do. Not even a sts in all that time! I don't need to lose any more, although I can, but the thought of stepping on the scales to see no change or even a tiny gain petrifies me! Didn't stop me being naughty today...

Sound lovely!! I think you're right on the syns too... hmmm, off to Waitrose to get some for this warm weekend methinks!! Thanks :D

    evrything gone wrong :(

Oh chicken, you poor thing. I'm sorry about your uncle. Firstly, half a pound is a big poo. Really, it is!! That's what I always think anyway ;) Eating a big meal before WI is possibly not the best thing... Secondly, maybe you and your OH need to sit down and have a chat. Ok, so you're not...

'THE' Photo that made you slim ,confessions!!

The first is the one that made me think "Eeeeeeeek!!!!" and the last is the last full-length one I have, although I now weigh 10 stones 10lbs...

So who has a claim to fame??

I've met loads of people when I used to work on the trains - one of my fave 'regulars' was Ainley Harriot as he was always so polite. Not-so-nice customers included Jasper Carrott (who put on a ridiculous posh voice - or maybe he's not really a Brummie?!), and Sophie Grigson who were both very...

    Lost

I don't think they will answer all the questions - it just wouldn't be Lost if there wasn't some mystery left! Like the 'mother' said - asking questions just leads to more questions... I think maybe we will feel a bit cheated once it's all ended. All this time we've considered the Man in...

    Lost

I have faithfully stuck with it since the first episode - almost lost the plot (pardon the pun!) in seasons 4 and 5, but am still here and still watching! Think it's partly cos we went to Hawaii on honeymoon just after the first season and recognise lots of the locations! Bawled my eyes out at...

    healthy extras

From the Lifeline Online website: Q: Can I mix and match my Healthy Extras by halving the portions? A: Yes, if you like - you’ll still lose weight beautifully! The downside is your speed and fibre symbols would have to be ignored unless your two halves had identical symbols. However...

Extra Easy Not a happy bunny

Are you having all your syns? I find if I keep my syns low, I don't lose as much as when I have between 10 and 15! Also, do you exercise, as sometimes this can affect your weightloss, but you may be losing inches instead - have you measured yourself?
  113. Harry'sMom07

    forst weigh in results

Wow!! That's fantastic! You must be sooo pleased?! Well done you - and good luck for the following weeks :D

What do we all do for a living?

    I am a nursery manager :)
  116. Harry'sMom07

    Little pickers.. wear big knickers.

I am the same!! The whole time I was losing weight, I was really good, and wouldn't let something pass my lips without synning it, so didn't pick as it wasn't worthe the syns. Since getting to target, I've been AWFUL at picking. I'm slowly slipping into my old, bad habits, cos I keep...

Terrible news! Asda pitta bread no more!

Coo, I have an unopened pack in my freezer.... who'll start me at £10? ;)
  119. Harry'sMom07

    Lovely New Look £10 jeans!!

Well, that's it then, I'll just have to go and check them out! I usually get my jeans from Asda and pay between £8 and £12. I refuse to spend a lot while still losing - well, on one single item anyway... I seem to have spent a lot lately buying several cheapy things! Oops....

All looks good to me, as long as you're getting your 1/3 superfree where you can :)
  122. Harry'sMom07

    Scared of target?

I felt exactly the same :) I'm into my second week at target and struggling - I lost another 2lbs last week. I lost every week for the 6 months it took me to reach target, so it's all I know how to do! I am now thinking of resetting my target for half a stone lower. I am scared to eat...

    Makes me sad!

Just skimming through a few posts on the main SW forum and feel really sad. I DO understand that it's horses for courses and that we are all very different in our approach to weightloss, but I just cannot get my head around VCLDs etc. Yes, if you're after a quick fix for a specific reason, eg...

How did you choose your PAT?

At first, I thought I'd just like to be in the 'healthy' BMI range so thought I would go for 11.5 stones - the top end. Then, as it neared, I decided I'd like to go for 11 stones so that I'd have a few lbs grace if I put any on and would still be 'healthy'.... 2 weeks ago I got to target, with a...

    EE and free/superfree foods

Your superfree foods are basically fruit and most non-starchy veg. Good luck with your week!

Awww, only just seen this!! Hooge congrats to you!! Good job I'm not logged in to Twitter at the mo, or might have blurted!

Well done Meli!! The only way is down! :D
  128. Harry'sMom07

    No longer 'overweight'

    That's fab, well done! :D
  129. Harry'sMom07

doesthis affect the SW eating plan

I lost 1lb a week for 3 weeks running. Then, I started drinking about 1.5 litres of water a day. The 4th week I lost 3lbs and then last week I lost 2lbs. I did wee a LOT though!!!
  130. Harry'sMom07

    Dissapointed!!

You have to eat to lose on this plan! Make sure you really are eating plenty of free and superfree foods - so that you're comfortable and not stuffed though. Also, I would try increasing your syns. I find I lose more when I have between 10 and 15 a day. It also gives you something to cut back on...

    Loud or Quiet dieter?

All the girls at work know, cos the majority of us are on SW or trying to lose weight by other means! It's also meant that there is pressure to do well and it's worked for me. Honest opinions on SW

Well, it sounds as if you've had your mind made up for you Livi! I don't think you'll regret trying SW though, as it really is so easy and has become a way of life for me now. Fill up on plenty of superfree and free foods and you will be less tempted to snack. I save my syns for evenings as I...

    Maltesers/chocolate muffin/crap

Have them - just don't have much! I know it's hard, believe me, I'm Maltesers biggest fan, but I still have some most nights. Just a fun size pack (about 10 maltesers) and it satisfies that little craving :)
  137. Harry'sMom07

Extra Easy 3 weeks and not losing.

Well, without knowing exactly what you're eating it's hard to say. Sometimes things like this just happen and we get stuck for a bit. I spent 3 weeks losing 1lb a week, then in the last 2 I've lost 5! If doing EE, As long as you're sure you're including 1/3 superfree with every meal, eating...

    Breakfast and lunch

I have chopped stawberries and banana covered in muller light yoghurt with a crumbled summer fruits alpen light on top - delish!! Really quite filling too. Oh and I have half a grapefruit most days too :)
  140. Harry'sMom07

    New to SW and struggling!

It does feel weird and goes against anything we may have tried before with other 'diets', but you really do have to just trust the plan :) What Rosie said is right. Just remember that when doing extra easy to fill 1/3 of your plate with superfree veg. I mostly do EE and have managed a great...

Hello! Just wanted to say welcome and good luck. Please feel free to ask away - if we can help, we will! Your books will likely be out of date as the new ones cam out in January, but the main change is to the Extra Easy plan, so if you're following that, then we'll help you with the changes :)...

    Hello everyone, I'm new...

OMG, I'm crying! Such a wally! I'm so glad I've spurred you on. I must admit, I noticed that our stats were almost the same back when we started, so I keep an eye out for how you're doing ;) I feel great and you will to now that you're GOING TO GET TO TARGET!!!! :D
  143. Harry'sMom07

could i be overdoing the free food ?

It does look like a lot of eggs and yoghurts to me!! I try to only have 1 yoghurt a day as even though they're free, the calories still add up. If you're hungry, then eat. Eating plenty is one of the key points of SW, but I would try to eat more filling meals and include lots of superfree foods...
  144. Harry'sMom07

    Hello everyone, I'm new...

Well helloooo 'newbie'! ;) Glad to hear you're getting back on it. You can do it!

    6 months later and....

Thank you all! You are all part of my success too :) To answer some of your questions, I mainly do EE but do have green days from time to time - one or two a week. I have never even attempted a red day - I'm a carbs girl! I use about 10 syns on average but that's just where I seem to...
  148. Harry'sMom07

    6 months later and....

Erm... I plan. Everything. But I can be a bit flexible if needs be. I've only ever gone over my daily syns on my birthday and Christmas day. And I do syn everything that goes in my mouth if it's not free! I guess I am a swot, but being swotty got me here with that lovely, twinkly target award...
  149. Harry'sMom07

    Salmon fishcakes?

I used tuna and salmon in mine cos I only had a small tin of salmon!

3 and a half pounds lighter this week!

Hehe, love it! Well done you. Aint it great, this SW malarkey?!
  151. Harry'sMom07

    6 months later and....

Thank you :) I think I am so frightened of maintaining BECAUSE I've lost every week - it's all I know how to do!! Well, I'm sure I could put it all back on again of course, but that's not really the idea... Vixxster, all I've done is follow the plan ;)
  152. Harry'sMom07

    6 months later and....

I hit target!!! Exactly 6 months ago tonight I first stepped into the World that is Slimming and after losing every single week, I am now 3 stones 8.5lbs lighter and half a pound under my target weight :D:D Thank you to everyone on Minimins for your support, advice, answers and butt-kickings...
  153. Harry'sMom07

    syns and snacks

A friend of a friend has just started SW and was told by her consultant that they should be trying not to use ANY syns!!:eek::eek: How ridiculous! Syns are there to be enjoyed and stop us feeling deprived. I average about 10 per day and am satisfied with my choccy most days :D
  154. Harry'sMom07

    Triple joy!!!

Awww, how fab!! Well done you :D
  155. Harry'sMom07

    ryvita crackerbread

That's them, but the ones you can have as a hex b are in a brown box and are browner in colour :)
  156. Harry'sMom07

    ryvita crackerbread

6, but only the wholegrain (or is it wholewheat? I forget! The brown) ones.
  157. Harry'sMom07

Mixing red/green/ee in the same week!

Yep, as far as I can see, you can do what you like! I've never done a red day, but mix green and EE every week now :) My losses vary from week to week - sometimes only 1lb, occasionally 3.5lbs, BUT... I've lost EVERY week...
  158. Harry'sMom07

Thinking of changing skincare range...what do you use?

I love Liz Earle, but am currently using an organic cream cleanser by Akin (similar to her Cleanse and Polish). I try to stay with organic and natural products where I can.
  159. Harry'sMom07

    Red/Green V Extra Easy

I do mostly EE with maybe one or two green days each week, but sometimes none. I find it really easy and I eat much healthier on the EE days than the green as I know I HAVE to have the 1/3 superfree. I've done green days where the only fruit or veg I've had is an apple and felt rubbish!
  160. Harry'sMom07

    Extra Easy beans

Nope, cos they're not free on red, so they're not superfree - just free on EE and green :)
  161. Harry'sMom07

    Extra Easy

Just one of each on Extra Easy :)

I started SW for the first time on 21st October and have lost 3 stones 3.5lbs to date - almost at target! I think there's a few Midlanders on here :)

Kelloggs Fibre Plus Milk Chocolate Cereal Bars- a new HEB!

So is it just me that's not totally wowed by them? I had one - it was nice, but didn't blow me away and I'd have a mint hifi any day over one of those. Or rather 2 alpen lights... I think I didn't like the oats on top of the milk choc one :(
  166. Harry'sMom07

    Guees who is back!

Welcome back! At least you tried - now you know SW is the best ;) Good luck! x
  167. Harry'sMom07

help needed! where can i find quark?!!

It's usually with the cheeses - near the cottage etc. I've bought it in Tesco, asda and sainsbury's.
  168. Harry'sMom07

    Text typing!

No, you're not old fashioned! I HATE it too. To me, it's pure laziness and I find it very sad that so many of today's younger generation (god, I sound like my Nan - I'm only 33!!) are unable to write and spell properly and can only communicate in 'txt spk'. I actually find it very hard to read!
  169. Harry'sMom07

    philadelphia

They are a 'b' choice only on green - sorry! Pants, isn't it? :(
  170. Harry'sMom07

I need to have a rant!

I just mean that maybe that's what he thinks. I understand your need for full time hours, but sometimes bosses don't - they just look for company loyalty.
  171. Harry'sMom07

I need to have a rant!

Perhaps that's your answer - you aren't committed enough to the company...
  172. Harry'sMom07

    SW Cook books

Yep, the EE book and also the Family Feasts for a Fiver book has some easy, tasty meals. Go for it!
  173. Harry'sMom07

    Vertical Stripes

I wear horizontal stripes quite a bit - even when I was fatter. I even told my Mom about the possibility that they may not make her look bigger than she is at the weekend - so she tried on a nautical style top and looked fab! But you're right, it does depend on the person/clothing.

I'm with Rosie on this one. I'm a pretty intelligent person and not bad at maths, but there's no way I would be bothered to sit and work out how much weight someone has lost! Firstly, I'm too busy clapping their achievement and secondly, it really doesn't matter to me ;) If it makes you feel...
  181. Harry'sMom07

    1/3 superfree...

I don't generally find it difficult, only that some meals don't lend themselves to the 1/3 rule, such as chilli and rice. In those cases, I try to have a smaller portion than normal and eat fruit after :)
  182. Harry'sMom07

    1/3 superfree...

I do try as much as possible, but, if I'm honest, no, not all the time. As you can see from my signature, it's not been a problem so far... ;)

    BANANA AND MALTESER CAKES

I'm sure you could leave it out - it would just be like a sponge with maltesers in. You can taste the banana. I've just made these and they are yum!! So nice to eat something that resembles proper cake :D:D
  186. Harry'sMom07

Where the bargains are at and anything else thats useful.

Ah, bum! What a shame, but I bet it is because of * week being due. Bet you lose 4lbs next week to make up for it!!:D
  189. Harry'sMom07

How much did every1 lose on there 1st week at sw

Extra Easy Healthy Extra B Choices

If you have access to the website, the lists come up on the online food diary. There are quite a lot of 'b' choices you CAN have on a green day for example that you can't on EE, so it's best to check. The book is quite rubbish!

Wow, strict! Good luck to you. I can understand wanting to lose that last stubborn pound, but don't know if I could restrict myself so much - after all, that's what I love about SW!
  204. Harry'sMom07

    Day One on FF

Just out of curiosity, can I ask why losing that last pound is so crucial that you will put yourself through FF? I think I would just call target rather than deprive myself for a week and then risk putting it back on the next! (Not having a go - just genuinely curious!):)

    What are your staple syns?

I tend to use mine at night so I can feel naughty without being naughty :D. I tend to have: fun size maltesers - 5.5 milky way magic stars - 3.5 curly wurly - 6 wine - 6 white choc options - 2.5 alpen light -3 If I use them for meals, I'll generally use: ex light mayo - 0.5...

I've lost the same weight as......................

I've lost the equivalent of the world's heaviest rabbit (sadly dead now, I think!) according to Hellie's previous thread. I am aiming for a small bale of hay. (Presumably what the heaviest rabbit ate before he popped his clogs?!)

spag bol - how much spag?

I looooove pasta and could eat far too much (which is one reason I was so fat in the first place!!) Now, I put it in a desert bowl instead of our big pasta bowls. If I eat it all and still feel hungry, I can add a bit more, but I know that if I just had a huge bowl in the first place I'd wolf...

    Motivation/Rewards

I have a trollbead bracelet (similar to Pandora) that I had for my 30th birthday, so I asked DH for a bead for each stone lost. Now lost 3 and still waiting for the beads.... (although my Dad bought me one!) Am liking the Coast dress idea for target :D

    SW Coleslaw - help please

I think I would do a mixture of the two - a little bit of mayo for the flavour and then add enough yoghurt to get the right consistency. Mmm, might have to try that now!

My Weight Loss - Picture Comparison

Okay, I've finally found some piccies that sort of show how I've done. I don't have a recent full-length one and I've lost another 8.5lbs since the last photo - and still have 7.5 to go to target. Eeek, here goes..... :o ETA: Here is one from today - at 11 stones 7.5lbs...

    Finally!! I am a 'healthy' weight :-D

Hehe, don't know yet! Didn't dare look before - there's so much choice :D:D:D

    Finally!! I am a 'healthy' weight :-D

After 21 weeks doing SW, but after several years of being a fat chuff, I lost 3.5lbs tonight, taking me into the 'healthy' BMI range!!! I've lost 3 stones and half a pound so far, and would still like to lose another 7.5lbs to get to target :D

Extra Easy IS IT OK TO USE......?

I too would say no. It was eventually decided that it's ok to use couscous in a cake, as you're still using it as intended - ie adding water to it. However, using it dry as 'breadcrumbs' isn't the way it's meant to be eaten. (Bet it was nice though!)

    Help!!!

Haha, I watched loads of that when I was up at stoopid o'clock with ds when he was small! I am very lucky with Harrison, also 2.5 yrs as he will eat a lot of the same foods we do, but he still has his faves. He isn't so keen on 'junk' and loves carrots! However, I think the key is...

    Extra Easy Smash... batter ?

I tried it to thicken gravy - OMG, I like my salt but eeeeuw! Also had it for a quick meal and it was just disgusting. That was the buttery one too. Nasty.

    New SW cookbook

I got this last week and made the salmon fishcakes today ready to have tomorrow. Also got the tomato and balsamic pasta on my meal plan for this week :D

I tried sweet potato (still unsure) and Joe's Pork sausages - nom nom!!

Well done!! It's a great achievement - sorry you don't feel the best to celebrate :(
  229. Harry'sMom07

    Funny little quirks and traits!

Me too!!! I'm a paper over the front girl... I read somewhere that one of the Friends girls does this too - think it was Jennifer Aniston. I have to draw the curtains so that the opening is facing away from me. I'm sure I have others, but obviously think they're normal! Weirdo!
  230. Harry'sMom07

Can i change my target ??

It won't affect your club 10 at all, as this is 10% of your original weight lost. Where do you want to change it? At group, online or on here (or all 3?) Speak to your C about changing it - as long as it's half a stone different to your original target (I think!) you can do it.

    HR/Payroll/Employment Law type query!

The thing is, our contract says 'by credit transfer' - I assume this does not necessarily mean by BACS or electronic transfer only? Also, we did have some notice (I think probably just under a month?) notice and it was discussed with us beforehand (although it didn't make a difference as her...

I know y'all know this but...

Aaah, so happy you have embraced the wonder of Alpen Light!!:D They are great at all times of the day and as a low-syn treat that feels like more syns! At the moment, my fave way to eat one is a summer fruits one crumbled over some 0% Greek Yoghurt and fresh strawberries... nom nom!!

    HR/Payroll/Employment Law type query!

Yes, it is to do with cash flow, which was all explained to us when our employer told us of the changes. Basically, I work in a private day nursery and parents are supposed to pay in advance on the first of the month. However, several don't and the owner has been having issues with not having...

    HR/Payroll/Employment Law type query!

I dno't know if anyone can help me, but we're a diverse bunch here so I thought I'd ask!... At my place of work we are paid monthly. This used to be by BACS, to arrive in our account on the last working day of the month. A few months ago, our employer began paying us by cheque - we had to...

    Baked sweet potato and...?

Thanks for all your suggestions! I went with some cheese and the beans in the end (ran out of time to do anything else!). Not really sure what I think!! It got very sickly towards the end so couldn't eat it all. Not sure I would have a baked one again, but will defo try it cooked in some of the...

Question re: boys shoes not fitting (MIL moan)

I'd never buy second hand shoes as shoes mould to the wearer's feet - there's a chance even if they were the right size they wouldn't actually fit properly. I've had a mixture of shoes fo my ds - first couple of pairs were Clarks's, but once he was walking confidently I tended to get them from...

question about "slimmer of the week"

We don't even have SOTM, let alone fridge magnets!! In our class, it's not even always the person who lost the most weight. I once lost 1lb and won, even though others had lost more, but my C said it was cos I'd also lost a lot the week before  Also, we do have to stay to class...

    Am I Doing It Right?

Looks ok to me, although you get one more each of the healthy extras on a green day :) You could maybe eat a bit more fruit and veg too, although not a requirement.

Quorn isn't superfree any more ;) Jaylou, I know you weren't saying it doesn't work hun - I was kind of agreeing with you that personally, my losses were better BEFORE the enforced 1/3 SF rule :)
  245. Harry'sMom07

Hmmmm - Fruit makes you fat?? Really??

My mom sent me this article yesterday :) I personally don't get the hungry feeling after eating fruit and find it does fill me up. But I do agree with what they say about smoothies etc and this is the reason SW say smoothies and juices have to be synned.

Info - My Consultant's Seminar Regarding EE 1/3 free!!

I lost 5.5lbs on my first week back in October (when it was only advised you have 1.3 SF, not a must) I follwed a completely EE week that week and for the next few weeks and had really good losses. Since the rule that you MUST have 1/3 SF, my losses aren't always as good (although I obviously...
