Do you buy clothes at each size?

I bought a basic wardrobe for every size - a few pairs of trousers, a skirt and some tops. It works out expensive, but there's not much else you can do - clothes tend to look ridiculous when they're a size too big, let alone two sizes! I minimized the expense by buying from ebay and from Primark...

What food do you take to work?

Charleybarley - your food looks yum :) My portions are enormous, haha, and now half my office is on slimming world - I think they were jealous of my epic plates of lunch! I might have, for eg, a big pack of bbq chicken pieces, a bag of salad, a small tin of sweetcorn and some boiled new...

    do you write everything down?

I don't write anything down any more. It's too much like being on a diet if I write my food down! That said, I plan my evening meals and tend to be quite routine with breakfasts & lunches so it's not complicated to tot up syns etc in my head.

    Extra Easy Disappointed

Try to focus on your own losses, rather than comparing yourself to others - this is a recipe for disaster, in my book! who has done the 30 DS?

Yes, it does get easier! Though it is a hard workout, so I wouldn't say it ever gets 'easy' :) One thing I would say is that when your muscles kill and you're tempted to skip a workout, the pain actually gets less once you've shredded again, so it's worth persevering!

I think running is a great way to challenge yourself with something that's healthy but not focused on the scales. Yeah, I agree! I would like to be able to run faster, but I think it will come with time - so there's no point in putting pressure on myself to do the physically impossible! Whenever I've run in the past, I've been slow then too, so I don't think I see a career in athletics in my future :D

I think it's natural, when you're on the start of a diet, to get a bit obsessed by it. Extra Easy or Green Plan

Welcome back to slimming world! I think which plan depends on what you like to eat. If you eat mostly vegetarian, then green is perfect. Unfortunately, fruit as dessert doesn't count towards your 1/3rd superfree. The idea is that the 1/3rd superfree on your plate cuts down on the quantity of free food you're eating, thus reducing your calories. I think your weight loss will depend on what weight you are, to be honest! If your...

Extra Easy Free food vs syn free food

I do agree to some extent - but then it's always going to be better to snack on superfree rather than a mugshot/muller light etc. The issue with snacking isn't really, imo, much to do with 'free' vs 'syn free'. I think the only reason to choose free food over 'syn free' food at mealtimes is...

Stopping when full is so difficult

I completely disagree :D I find eating big meals suits me - I rarely snack inbetween them, and I don't eat many puddings apart from a piece of fruit after dinner most nights. So it works for me. Stopping when full is so difficult

I think this depends. I mean, I always stick to 1/3rd of a plate veg - but if I have an enormous plate, and pile it high, that means my portions of (eg) meat and rice are too big, which will hinder my losses, as well as being bad for my mental health. For me, anyway, being overfull can trigger...

Stopping when full is so difficult

Yep. I really struggle to stop, sometimes - I don't think I'll ever get over the mentality that if it's on my plate, I have to eat it. And it doesn't help that my eyes are bigger than my stomach, so I have such a bad habit of dishing up too much food! One thing I find definitely helps is...

I know it's hard, but draw a line and get back on plan - not cutting back on food, just doing the plan. You have five weeks til your hols - if you're on plan 100% til then, there's no reason why you shouldn't lose some weight, even if it's not quite as much as you initially hoped. Good luck...

Tinned pineapple has syns (not sure how many, sorry - though probably quite low). Fresh pineapple is superfree :)

    Lace & frills here I come! <3 <3 <3

Nom, nom, had a yummy breakfast this morning of porridge (hexb) with a sliced banana, grated apple and a handful of frozen berries. Good start to the new success express day! Not sure what lunch is yet - usually do my lunch shop on Mondays for the rest of the week. Probably buy lots of salad and...

    Lace & frills here I come! <3 <3 <3

A good food day today! Am nearly in the swing of success express. For brekkie it was more of an ee meal - all bran (hexb) with milk (hexa) and a sliced nana. Lunch was a big salad packed with superfree with lentils and feta cheese (3 syns) and 2 mini white rolls (12 syns). Dinner was roast...

What is it with Quorn Sausages?

I agree - the new Quorn sausages aren't nearly as nice as the old ones. Thanks for sharing about the Linda M. red onion sausages, Patchworkpuss - I'm excited to try them! I don't mind synning sausages, but it's always good to have a syn-free option as well.
  202. who_la_hoop

    What works for you?

I do my syns daily. For me, it's not healthy to do weekly syns - I'm prone to binge eating, so I can find it triggering to be 'low' on syns. If I go over my daily syns I just draw a line and get back to normal the next day :)

    Extra Easy Should I

Personally, I think 5.45 is quite early for tea if you had a big lunch at 1. I wouldn't be hungry by then either. I expect come 7.30 or so you'll be ready for it! :)

Did a sort of cross between extra easy and success express today - now I've done my food shop for the week I should be able to do success express properly. Probably had half a plate superfree for lunch and dinner rather than 2/3rds. Noms! Breakfast - all bran and milk (hexb, hexa, 6 syns)...

    Cooked deli chickens

I always remove the skin from chicken thighs before cooking as well, because I find that there is quite a bit of fat to trim off the meat under the skin. If it wasn't for that fat, I wouldn't bother.
  207. who_la_hoop

    why

I find myself hungrier on red as well. I think it's easy to eat less on red unintentionally because meat comes pre-packaged, if you see what I mean. Like, if I was having a chicken curry on ee I would have half a pack of chicken in it and serve the curry with rice and salad. But if I was having...

Anyone having flexi syns tonight? What's your limit?

Remember that if you're flexisynning, you need to decide in advance how many syns you're going to consume, track them as you do, and then stop eating/drinking when you've reached the limit you decided earlier. This is a way of keeping in control, even if you're eating more than the SW plan would...

    Cooked deli chickens

scorpiolady, it is an urban myth that supermarkets inject their chickens with fat. Any syns come from the skin, any marinade that has been rubbed on the skin, and the actual fat within the chicken itself (ie. breast is lean so syn-free, but thighs have some fat so will have some syns). Mammaw...
