    Alternative Feb Challenge :-)

Was that the Gillian Riley one? I managed 2x 4 miles (had to take shoes to work to change into)
  2. LardyZebra

Starving but not giving in,can c the difference

Me too! But the urge really does fade...most of the time.
  3. LardyZebra

    Anyone tried StyleShake?

True! :D (and handily enough, only 4 lbs to go!):553:
  4. LardyZebra

    flapjacks and soups ??

Flapjacks....they're OK, and what I've been taking to work to avoid the awkwardness of colleagues knowing I was doing total food replacement. If you remove any expectation, and instead think 'slightly stale rye bread' they're OK.
  5. LardyZebra

    Swapping over!!

South Beach - kind of like Atkins, but less 'meaty' and fatty. Looks more sustainable long term also. South Beach Diet for Beginner (there's an official website as well - but you have to join, which looked a bit tedious) I think if I have two food replacements, and then one meal aalong those...
  6. LardyZebra

    Anyone tried StyleShake?

I'm kind of tempted - am weirdly disproportionate (even whennot carrying a ton of lard around with me)....maybe a payday treat? Or a 2 stone loss treat?
  7. LardyZebra

    Anyone tried StyleShake?

It does sound a bit like a crazy diet....but it's not.:D Has anyone bought anything from here? Bridesmaid dresses, dresses, design your own dresses at Styleshake I've been designing things all morning (yes, I am sad) -and it sounds really awesome - no more clothes that are baggy in one...
  8. LardyZebra

    Swapping over!!

Good luck for the New You diet! I'm also swapping to South Beach (I love cooking, and have really missed it), but am thinking of doing 2 CD meals a day (I know cheap source of the stuff in my road), and 1 light SB meal a day - best of both worlds? LT is working, but despite mouthwash and...
  9. LardyZebra

    Week 5 - 4.5lbs down!

Thanks everyone. So hungry today - have cold now also....can't wait to get back onto food....
  10. LardyZebra

    Week 5 - 4.5lbs down!

Thanks guys! (PMT currently - experiencing major rage issues - not helped by lack of food!)
  11. LardyZebra

Hi im new just after some encouragement

Good luck with it! (Try Senokot?)
  12. LardyZebra

    Week 5 - 4.5lbs down!

....making it 22 in total! (Hope I can shift at least another 10 in Feb...maybe even achieve the 14lbs target!):D
  13. LardyZebra

    Refeed?

Does anyone know how long I would have to refeed for if I stopped LT at the end of Feb? Trying to plan first meal out (not a massive blowout...but something healthy:D)
  14. LardyZebra

    Progress!

Cheers Bells! SB seems to have all the foods I like, so I think it'll be fine...if not, may do one of the less hardcore Exante programmes... In the meantime, I have a February goal of 14lbs to achieve! (Well done on your 2stone loss too!)
  15. LardyZebra

    Progress!

Yeah - let's hope for a decent weight loss in Feb for all of us! (I miss restaurants too much to continue)
  16. LardyZebra

    Progress!

After last week's disappointing (in the context of still having over 40lbs to go....) weigh in, I've been doing some measuring. So far I have lost 3 inches of under bust fat, 3 inches of stomach lard, and 4 inches of hip fat. I think my arms look thinner, but I didn't measure them before. :D...
  17. LardyZebra

    Alternative Feb Challenge :-)

Caren, where did you get your vibroplate from? I used to go to powerplate classes before the lard arrived, but think one at home would be cooler! (cheeky question, but was it horribly expensive?)
  18. LardyZebra

How do u stop urself from being so tired ???

Same here - evenings were always my snacking time... As for the tiredness, I've never needed so much sleep!
  19. LardyZebra

    Alternative Feb Challenge :-)

3 miles today (walked into town to buy clothes....an excellent feeling!)
  20. LardyZebra

When you feel your getting it tough... how do you turn it around?

I look at all the clothes I couldn't get into before I started the diet....today I am happy!
  21. LardyZebra

books to help us on our journey...

Anything by Gillian Riley's worth a read - good on the emotional links to overeating... Eating Less: Say Goodbye to Overeating: Amazon.co.uk: Gillian Riley: Books
  22. LardyZebra

    Flapjacks :(

Or vanilla/flapjack mix. frozen. I quite like them as well - not as nice as an actual flapjack, but palatable. Certainly not moreish, at least.
  23. LardyZebra

We're Leaving :( CD Here we come

I know quite a few people who've lost weight with SW. There's a fair amount of flex in it too for eating out, weekends away etc...
  24. LardyZebra

has LT affected any body elses TOTM???

It made my first one on the diet late....nothing since, either....
  25. LardyZebra

    WK 4 WEIGH IN

Nice one! Hope I can recover the loss I didn't really make by Monday....
  26. LardyZebra

To everyone just beginning and struggling as there seems to be alot of posts about!!

Great post....I just keep telling myself that I would prefer to be stressed and getting thinner, rather than stressed and getting fatter.
  27. LardyZebra

    Alternative Feb Challenge :-)

I'd be up for it - I'm trying to walk to work some days (it's 4 miles, so a bit of a chore)
  28. LardyZebra

    finding it really hard

Also struggling - stressed at work and knackered. Off for a long bath and a lie down....
  29. LardyZebra

    im absolutely gutted!!

    Hang in there...
  30. LardyZebra

    Depressing weigh-in

Thanks guys... Roll on next week! (could eat pharmacist if no weight loss)
  31. LardyZebra

    Depressing weigh-in

Hope you get back into it soon Anna - good lusk for the wedding! Thanks guys - easy to get despondent this time of year...but trying on old clothes (and getting into them) has boosted morale alot!
  32. LardyZebra

    Rubbish!

Feeling your pain...good luck with CD!
  33. LardyZebra

    Heh heh heh heh!!!!!!

Well said! Even a paltry pound must be almost a pack of sausages? (you get 8 in a packet, right?? Not much of a meat eater)
  34. LardyZebra

    Depressing weigh-in

I know, and I had a -6 last week. If someone had told me I would be down 18lbs in under a month I would have laughed in their face! It's jsut a bit demoralising not seeing the numbers on the scale going down...but it's a very large block of cheese. Gone! (weight of cheese, not actual cheese)
  35. LardyZebra

    Depressing weigh-in

I know, it just sounds a bit rubbish... However, have lost 5 inches of hip lard since I started, so all good really. Guess I'm just having a b***h!
  36. LardyZebra

    FEBRUARY CHALLENGE!!

    14 for me! (fingers crossed!)
  37. LardyZebra

    January Challenge

-1. Failed Jan Challenge, but fairly happy to have lost 18lbs.
  38. LardyZebra

    Buxton 1ltr bottles

Same here - loving the bottles!
  39. LardyZebra

    Depressing weigh-in

Only a pound lost - how rubbish is that?! I'm not even suffering PMS, what is all that about.. Tempting to dive into a mountain of food, but will see what the scales bring next week.....
  40. LardyZebra

    Question about Peppermint tea.

Was it the Good Earth one? That's yummy!
  41. LardyZebra

    Please help! Bad breath!

Last week I felt like someone had died in my mouth and lost 7lbs - you should be in for a good weigh in!
  42. LardyZebra

    Exercise on Lipotrim?

I think there's a balance to find - I think I'll need to exercise to main tain weight when I've finished, so may as well start now!
  43. LardyZebra

My second weigh in.... AND I ....

Week 3 is fine - Found it far easier than 2! Good luck
  44. LardyZebra

angry but more motivated now than ever.

Bells, hope you're feeling better now (you may not be out of ketosis - I accidentally nibbled some cheese on Sat, and was still ok;) - was cooking, and totally forgot diet!) Fingers crossed!
  45. LardyZebra

    Exercise on Lipotrim?

I did nothing in the first two weeks, bt have started using stepper/cross trainer and Wii. Seems to be helping alot!;) Also some stretching excercises to arrange the lard in a more sightly manner.
  46. LardyZebra

    January Challenge

-7lbs for me! (must have had terrible water retention last week)
  47. LardyZebra

All I drink is Chocolate shakes...

I've been going for a mix, but the strawberry ones are starting to turn my stomach. Too sickly!
  48. LardyZebra

    Feeling Down!

;)I felt the same a few days ago...but it'll pass. 33lbs is a gret loss
  49. LardyZebra

    What are you missing....?

    Also wine....
  50. LardyZebra

    What are you missing....?

Bread and cheese (extra mature cheddar. Yum)
  51. LardyZebra

    Slow weight loss

My weight loss on LT is frustratingly slow (7lbs week 1 , 3lbs week 2) - hopefully it might improve once I can start waliking to work again, but it's quite disheartening at the moment.
  52. LardyZebra

    January Challenge

-3 today. Disappointing, all things considered.
  53. LardyZebra

    Zebra Diary...

    Only 3lbs. Bugger
  54. LardyZebra

    small pants

That's amazing! (Why are the sizes in cheap shops always so small - would have thought the additional inch or so worth it to not annoy customers by making them get a bigger size then normal)
  55. LardyZebra

    Weighed in early...

Well done! Am actually lookingforward to weighing in tomorrow!
  56. LardyZebra

    Zebra Diary...

According to WiiFit, I am now overweight, rather than obese! (think their scales may be a bit generous!)
  57. LardyZebra

    Very pissed off and annoyed

I've just told a few people - not sure I fancy the 'well meaning' comments. We always have loads of food around at work, and I know if people knew about the LT they would start waving cream cakes etc under my nose!
  58. LardyZebra

    LT in baking cupboard....

Fab photo! I keep mine in the cupboard with pans and baking trays...so that at least I can sometimes feel smug about not having to cook and wash up! ( I do cook a bit for my boyfriend, but I kind of can't be arsed at the moment)
  59. LardyZebra

    The breakout has begun!

Mine are the hard, red lumpy spots too! First day sucks - norm, ally I would be ablw to smother pain under a pile of pasta or chips....
  60. LardyZebra

    Finger sizes?

I've not had my hands measured, but I've noticed my rings are coming off easier (and a rather shaming 'ring muffin top' has gone!)
  61. LardyZebra

    The breakout has begun!

My chin's looking pretty repulsive - could just be PMT though. (On that subject, why has my body chosen the menstrual cycle above keeping me warm?! So unfair!)
  62. LardyZebra

    Treats for Feats

1 stone - flights to see a friend 1.5 stone - hair appointment (it's a bit rooty at the moment) 2 stone - proper holiday booked! 2.5 stone - jeans (I've been too fat to feel confident in them for a while). If large hips still problematic, may go to more specialist retailer. 3 stone - to be...
  63. LardyZebra

    sudafed

I as told to carry on taking any medication as normal...provided nothing 'carby' listed in the ingredients, I would assume tablets OK.
  64. LardyZebra

    why oh why?

Use the sink next time (get a SheWee!)
  65. LardyZebra

Does Losing Weight Make You Look Older or Younger?

I think it depends - often after losing weight people dress better and take more care with their appearance, so look younger/healthier. As Chelly says, getting the right weight for you is key!
  66. LardyZebra

    January Challenge

Cheers! Also weighed in early, as was meant to be at work today and tomorrow..next weeks should be a good one with an extra day!
  67. LardyZebra

    January Challenge

    7lbs off for me!
  68. LardyZebra

    First day!

    Good luck!
  69. LardyZebra

    Day one!!

3 stone in 2 months - amazing! (really hope I can do it too!)
  70. LardyZebra

    1st day over (thankfully)

It does get better - am on Day 7 now, and the hunger pains get easier to ignore after a while!
  71. LardyZebra

    Week One Survival Tips

Distraction - DVD Boxsets and lots of books. January luckily an antisocial month! Baths, hair masks, and obsessively applying anti stretch mark cream! Heat wraps (Body Shop used to do them)
  72. LardyZebra

    blown day one

Sorry to hear it's not gone well.... This is going to sound sad, but I've tried to motivate myself by hanging dresses I love, but am too fat for on the walls (a lovely, but short and tight Whistles one I bought last year is proving very motivating)!
  73. LardyZebra

    Zebra Diary...

Thanks guys! Lou, your before and after pics are amazing!
  74. LardyZebra

    Zebra Diary...

    Pretty happy.....but so very cold!
  75. LardyZebra

    Zebra Diary...

Ended up having to go today, as I'm on work late Tues and Wed - 7lbs down! NOt bad for 5 and a half days!
  76. LardyZebra

    Zebra Diary...

Um, kind of. Still expects dinner cooking though. He may be in for a surprise! Chips.....I nearly crumbled in the bakery yesterday, looking at all the lovely things.
  77. LardyZebra

    January Challenge

:DYup! Hopefully soon I can just be 'Zebra', without the lard;)
  78. LardyZebra

    Zebra Diary...

I know...I had to go in a separate room to my boyfriend last night as I was about to combust with rage (he had a chinese)....
  79. LardyZebra

    January Challenge

Could I join? I'd like to lose 20lbs in January....:D
  80. LardyZebra

    Zebra Diary...

Does anyone else find themselves getting ridiculously angry over small things, due to the hunger and seeing other people eating chips? Other than that, all good on Day 5!
  81. LardyZebra

    Kirstie's LT journey/diary!

I'm in ketosis, and no one's mentioned that I smell! I asked a friend straight out if my breath was rank and was told that it was fine. My pharmacist said that as long as you're getting the right amount of water down any ketones on the breath won't be noticable at a social distance...mayget...
  82. LardyZebra

    1st day today

Weirdly, I'm getting a slight taste for the flapjacks now.... Hope you're doing OK - I've tried freezing the shakes, and that was quite nice, also making a kind of frozen cheesecake using the flapjack as a base (half for brekkie, half for tea later)
  83. LardyZebra

    Zebra Diary...

I know - have never actually been excited about getting weighed before!
  84. LardyZebra

    Day One again

I've signed up for a yoga class, and am planning to walk to work a bit. It's a 3 mile walk, so should burn up some flab. I've bought some of the Palmers Cocoa Butter - it's one for use during pregnancy and weight loss, so fingers crossed. Exercise may also help!
  85. LardyZebra

    Struggling!

I think I'll struggle once I'm back at work....at home I can take my mind of any hunger by reading or sleeping. Actually working is less appealing!
  86. LardyZebra

    Day One again

Hi, welcome back. Hope you have as much luck this time round. Did you exercise much last time - I kind of feel 'energetic' but lightheaded at the same time. A strange mix!
  87. LardyZebra

    Zebra Diary...

Tuesday - will have to go a day early as working late on Wednesday...but that's OK.
  88. LardyZebra

    Struggling!

I stayed in too - experimented by mixing half a flapjack and half a shake together (made as mousse)to create a granola type thing....Nice for a change. January/Feb are always a but rubbish anyway, so will stock up on box sets to pass the time and take my mind off food.
  89. LardyZebra

    Zebra Diary...

I know...just had to watch my boyfriend eating a cheese sarnie with chips! Nightmare! Just have to keep in mind that bread and pasta are not my friends! But am now in ketosis (Ketostix luckily quite cheap on Amazon), so hopefully resisting food will be easier.....
  90. LardyZebra

    Zebra Diary...

Cool! Day 2 and 3 also going well - thinking alot about bread (and cheese), but other than that not too bad. Either I've lost alot of random fluid and stuff, or something's gone a little amiss!
  91. LardyZebra

    Zebra Diary...

First day out of the way, about to retire for the evening:happy036: Aside from the initial shock of finding out that I was over 14stone, today's been fine. The flapjacks have been a bit of a low point, but am hoping these are an acquired taste. :sigh: Felt a bit lightheaded a while ago, but...
  92. LardyZebra

    Starting on Wednesday

You too - they are a bit crap but I'm stuck with them for this week at least. I read that the 'food' was only intended to be palatable...I guess on the basis that I managed to force it down, they succeeded (nothing like setting your sights high, eh?)
  93. LardyZebra

    Starting on Wednesday

Hi, I'm useless as well..I just clicked on someone else's chart and it took me to a site that will build one for you - you just need to put in your current and goal weights. If you click on mine it should take you there!
  94. LardyZebra

    Starting on Wednesday

They're not bad, just had one. Kind of like a bad Malteser. I avoided the soup this week...might try it next week, but with other stuff in (herbs?) to make the taste less rank. I'll have to persevere with the flapjacks - they're awful, but more convenient for work. They put me off eating for...
  95. LardyZebra

    Starting on Wednesday

True... They're even less tasty than the Slimfast Bars, which had the texture of iron filings.....
  96. LardyZebra

Can someone give advice on avg weekly cost

Not at all! I haven't got round to doing one yet....I tried Weight Watchers and didn't have much luck with it...too easy to cheat and food yourself that one glass of wine/biscuit won't make a difference....
  97. LardyZebra

Can someone give advice on avg weekly cost

Cost is 36 pounds for women....have only just started so not sure on average loss. I was told at the chemist that it wound be about a stone a month....
  98. LardyZebra

January 2010 - Starting LT - whos with me

I've just picked mine up....good luck to everyone else starting...
  99. LardyZebra

    Starting on Wednesday

Just picked mine up - luckily no issues getting hold of it. Flapjacks are not as nice as actual flapjacks.
  100. LardyZebra

    Starting on Wednesday

:sigh: I know.....I just want to get cracking on it though. I don't think I have any medical issues that would stop me doing it (well done on your weight loss - incredible!)
  101. LardyZebra

    Awful experience :(

Sounds awful - I would also report it in case he does that (or worse) to some other girl. Hope you feel better soon- how awful
  102. LardyZebra

    Starting on Wednesday

I will be fuming if they weight me, I'm huge...and they make me wait before handing the stuff over.....
  103. LardyZebra

    Hi All

Well said! I think I'll be happy to tell my friends...so that I don't have to keep explaining why I'm not drinking/eating etc...work colleagues, maybe not. As for the boyfriend, hopefully results will speak for themselves...maybe he's just worried that I'll stop cooking!
  104. LardyZebra

    Starting on Wednesday

Thanks Jools - am actually mildly fearing my own starting weight - know it must be about be about 13-14st, but seeing it written down will be horrifying. At least it'll hopefully be dropping very soon....
  105. LardyZebra

    Starting on Wednesday

    Thanks for the tip!
  106. LardyZebra

    Hi All

Also having to do it in secret (aside from disapproving boyfriend!)....really need a diet that removes the possibility of 'portion creep'. Seeing quick results a bonus too - losing 1lb a week unlikely to be sufficiently motivating!
  107. LardyZebra

January 2010 - Starting LT - whos with me

Starting on Weds - can I join?
  108. LardyZebra

    Starting on Wednesday

Hi, I have an appointment with the pharmacy on Wednesday....this may seem like a silly question, but do they just hand the stuff over on the day, or will I have to wait for it? Also....anyone fancy a buddy?;) Have about 3.5 stone to lose...it's going to be interesting....
  109. LardyZebra

    'Chasing Butterflies' - Team 7

Hi, Did you still have a space on your team? Am starting on 6 Jan (CDC appointment booked!)
  110. LardyZebra

    Hello from LardyZebra

Hi,, Thanks for all the replies - am shunning junk right left and centre at the moment :jelous: Basically going for the low GI diet, coming in at 1200cal - get myself used to no pasta and rice, and to a reduced amount of food. And avoiding a binge on stuff I won't be eating in Jan ;) If...

    Hello from LardyZebra

Hi, Nice to meet you all:) I start Cambridge Diet in January (knew I would fall off the wagon over Christmas) - is there anything I can do between now and then to get into the zone for it? I've cust down on carbs and total calories so it's not such a jolt when I start....hopefully I might lose...
