    I'm back!!!!!

Hi all, I have returned after about ten months away - had a bit of a 'blip' with the weight loss, and in fact coping with life in general if truth be known, but now I'm back on the right path and raring to lose this ball and chain around my neck (and waist, hips, thighs, etc) :D Decided to...

    Just Dance

I've been doing the 30 day challenge on Active and make sure I have the tension band really tight with the upper body exercises. With Just Dance I've found that there are a fair few dances with lots of arm movements. I can really feel that I've worked out my arms and shoulders as long as I...

    SW and IBS

Hiya. I too have awful IBS symptoms, which seem to have got worse since I started SW. I thought initially it was wheat and knocked that out of my diet completely. However, I've now been wheat free for three months and I'm still getting the symptoms. I do eat a lot more fruit now than I used...

I agree - I put this down as moderate. Though if I do all the 3star effort ones, then it sure as heck trips over into vigorous!! I do this alongside EA Sports Active (and Wii Fit Plus, though not so often these days). I have to knock out all the lower body exercises on the Active due to knee...

How did you set your target weight?

This is a really interesting thread. Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts. I haven't set my target yet. In similar to some of the others, I've always been 'large' - even at age 13 I was wearing a size 14! I've set an interim target of 14st (having started at 16st 12), but only because...

question about "slimmer of the week"

I've won SOTW at my group when I didn't stay. The fruit was raffled off and my C sent my certificate in the post, and I picked up my fridge magnet the following week. My C has gone electronic with the PDA and that tells her who the slimmer of the week is - no confusion (allegedly!) that way!!

Hmmmm - Fruit makes you fat?? Really??

Just going off topic a bit, I've done a bit of an experiment with fruit today. From Monday to yesterday this week I've had really bad IBS...

    Cat food Wet or Dry?

My cats always used to have dry food only - it's far more hygienic to leave down for those cats that like to 'graze'. However, one of my elderly girls has to have tablets now and the only way I can get them into her is to crush them onto wet food. So all the cats get to share a pouch in the...

Hi hun, it depends on what sort of dress you're going to get. If you're doing a 'proper' wedding dress, you should get some advice from a bridal shop as I believe they need to have at least 3 months for alterations and fitting. If you're going to get a 'posh frock' from a department store...

    When to exercise?!?!

I don't.... can't stand the things. Just the smell of them makes me feel sick - SO sweet... urgh!!! Oh heck, just the very thought of them is making me queasy! lol I guess I'm quite lucky in that I'm not really a huge fan of chocolate, and as kids my parents never ever bought my sister or I...

    suffering food torture!

My OH does that all the time. Though with him it's normally things like After Eights or other minty chocolate things, which I (thankfully) detest! I tend to give myself a manicure or pedicure to get my own back - he hates the smell of nail varnish remover!! That said, I don't let it bother me...

    I'm blaming you lot *lol*

If you like to do step class, then you'll soon get bored with the Step game on the Wii Fit - just as I did. However, you can get a 'riser' from Amazon.co.uk that lets you rise the wii fit board to make it the same height as a normal step. It's fab!!! Gives you a much better step workout.

Anyone else lose weight really slowly?

Me too.... In the past I've always got disheartened when I've seen people around me losing 3 or 4 pounds a week (sometimes even more!), and have given up, claiming that I'm just not meant to lose the weight. However, this time round it's different for me. I'm losing an average of 1.5lb per...

OMG!!! Bride has ordered the bridesmaid dresses today!!!

It's 18 weeks to my wedding, so I know exactly how you feel hun.... You have SUCH an incentive now - I know you'll do it!!! Foxy x

God how organise am i :)

God I wish I was as organised as you!!! Well done hunni.

    Grr Weekends

I'm completely the opposite!!! Being at home and doing stuff with OH keeps me on track. During the week, it's FAR to easy to try and stave off the work stresses with a short walk to the vending machine for instant gratification, then hours of guilt!!!

    Hello

Hiya and welcome both to the forum and to SW.... you've seen the light too - like me... fab isn't it!? Well done on your first week's loss - here's to many more!! x

    Headaches?

Hi Tiggy, have you changed the actual types of food you're eating to a large extent? The reason I ask is that a drop in blood sugar levels can cause headaches, and if you're not eating enough complex carbohydrates (potatoes, pasta, cereals etc), then this could be one cause. Not wanting to...

    Two awards

 Well done you... remember the feeling - it'll keep you going!!! Bet you have another great week next week too. x
  116. F

    Right, this is it!

Hey hun, don't beat yourself up! You have made such an AMAZING achievement already, and slips are bound to happen on everyone's journey (me included!). The important thing is that you recognise what your stress areas are, and how they've been affecting you. At least, even if you can't prevent...

    Newbie

Hiya, and welcome! Congrats on the amazing weight loss, and sorry to hear about the 'blip'. At least you know you can get it off!!! I guess it just highlights the importance of going to the meetings when we get to target, as I suspect it's very easy to fall off the path!

    Extra Easy who does it???

This is my second time round at Slimming World - just couldn't get my head round EE last time. When I re-joined in November I decided I was ONLY going to do EE, and I'm SO glad I did! My weight always comes off slowly, and I feel that on EE I'm not really having to try to lose the weight - I...

    My wedding challenge!!!

Woo hoo!!!! :happy036:Just been to weigh in, and I lost 2lb this week - and that's without the exercise I'd planned on. So chuffed :bunnydance:

    measuring ya cereals

Weigh.... stick the bowl on digital scales - can't go wrong that way! If I'm going to stay with friends or family, I'll weigh out a serving and stick it in a plastic bag for the next morning.

    B choices

I tend to use my HEB for breakfast - normally some kind of cereal with grapes and fat free yogurt - that was I can use my HEA later in the day. (I only do EE so only have one of each!)

    Starbucks addiction!

How about once you've got out of the habit, use it as a way of treating yourself when you've had a good week? I'm doing that - every time I lose half a stone OH and I will indulge in a dominos pizza. It acts as motivation and incentive!!!

    Lemon Cheesecake Mullerlight

I'm a huge fan of ANYTHING lemony... sadly though I didn't like these. Found they tasted quite, well, sort of chemical..... if that makes sense??

    Anyone else unable to visualise

I gave up trying to visualise myself 'slim' many, many years ago. So I now imagine how it would be to be 'healthy' - visualise myself going for a run, walking up stairs without feeling out of breath - that kind of thing. I also don't normally think further ahead than the the next half stone (and...

    My wedding challenge!!!

Feeling a bit peeved that I haven't been able to do any 'real' walking this week - darned snow kept me indoors for three days!!! That said, OH and I did go out for a walk in the snow for two of the days, but they weren't exactly 'taxing' walks! Still, at least I kept moving rather than slobbing...

    Another newbie!

Hiya! Welcome to the forum, and good luck with the weight loss. My doctor prescribed me Xenical a few years ago, but it didn't suit me. Hope you get on with it - the important thing is we all made the commitment to lose the weight! Foxy x

Ok folks are you ready for this?? ........

Fantastic!!! You are so brave for posting them, but you have motivated me, and so many others. You must feel amazing - not only from the actual weight loss, but also when you see what how much difference it makes to your figure.... here's to the next 10lbs - looking forward to seeing the pics! x

    Does SW work for everyone?

For me this was the key - recognising when I am full. It's very easy on EE to just eat everything and anything, thinking, 'It's Ok, it's all Free or SuperFree', when in fact, it's only free if you stop eating when you feel satisfied. Once you go beyond that point, it becomes Syns, and we all...

    My wedding challenge!!!

Good luck hunni. My sister lost loads of weight for her wedding last year that her seamstress eventually told her to stop losing weight as she wouldn't be able to take the dress in far enough!!! She actually had to pad out her bodice with socks in the end! lol
  133. F

    'ello 'ello

T'is not a diet.... t'is a 'way of life' (well for me anyway!!!) Good luck with it. If I can do it, then anyone can!!! x

    My wedding challenge!!!

Ditto to that one!!! Mine was an off the peg dress from Debenhams - the 'posh frocks' section!! lol I'm sure you're going to have a fab day x

Well, despite the mobility problems, it sure as heck sounds like you've got it all sorted out! I really hope you keep at it, and reach those goals. Feel free to call on me for support at any time. x

    My wedding challenge!!!

Hey hun, thank you for the words. In fact, I actually bought my dress in January - when I was looking for an outfit for my sister's wedding in June this year! It's my second wedding, so I'm not doing the whole 'big white wedding', but I am SO in love with the dress - it's more of a cocktail...

    My wedding challenge!!!

Well fellow SWers, I'm getting married on 28 May this year. Before Xmas I'd lost 10.5 lbs, but put 2lb back on over crimble. Going to group tonight with every hope of having lost those 2lbs. I'm setting myself the target of losing 2 stone between now and the wedding, which I believe I should...

    How old are we all?

I hit the big 4-0 in September. OH won't let me forget as he bought me a personalised number plate with my age and initials in it!!! lol He's 3 years younger than me and relishes the fact that I'm older... Grrrrr

Hi all, popping in to say hello

Hello everyone, I happened upon this site as I was searching for a recipe for coleslaw using creme fraiche - wasn't sure I could use creme fraiche for this!! Anyway, this looks like a great site, and I hope I can provide as much support as I hope to get from all you lovely people. I've...
