Emma's journey to becoming a slim bride *09/08/13*

Sounds interesting...think I'll stick to normal zumba lol! I've had a really good week last week. I was away staying with my sister all week so was a bit worried about sticking to the plan. It turned out to be fine though, I just tracked what I was eating and tried to be good. Then I had to...

Emma's journey to becoming a slim bride *09/08/13*

I lost 1.5lb this week so got my first half stone sticker at WW :) I'm staying at my sister's this week which I thought might pose a problem but so far it's been fine as she's supportive and let's me work out the points before we decide what to eat! Well done on losing another 2! I know what...

    Sts week two am livid!!

I lost 5lb in my first week too then half in my second week. I was really disappointed like you but stuck at it and lost 1.5lb this week. Half a stone in 3 weeks is pretty good going I reckon! Try thinking of it another way - would you have been happy losing 3lb in the first week and 2lb second...

That sounds like a great treat and it is research for the wedding lol! I'm really proud of how I've done so far this week, especially yesterday as I was at a conference with a buffet for lunch and then had a night out last night. I was good at the buffet and stick to vodka and diet coke all...

    contraceptive implant

It's fine. I've got the tiniest little scar where my last one was taken out. You'd only notice it if I pointed it out and it's in a hidden place anyway which is why they insert them there. After the bruising goes down it's hardly noticeable.

Feeling guilty about using some of my weeklies??!

Just thought I would share this with you all...my OH keeps calling my weekly points 'weekend points' i.e. you can have a beer cos you've still got your weekend points haven't you? Lol! It makes me laugh every time he says it, but I suppose I do use most of them on a weekend :D

    contraceptive implant

I've got implanon too and it's great for me - no periods at all and no other side effects. However, it is different for everyone and if you're getting these side effects it's worth talking to your doctor about alternative methods. The only thing I don't like about it is getting it put in / taken...

My week's going ok. Doesn't feel like I'm doing as well as last week but when I look at my food diary I realise I am doing ok, haven't gone over my points allowance. I've also be doing some hand weight exercises most days so that might help. Good luck with the party. Maybe you could allow...

Changing from slimming world to WW

I've been back on WW a week after doing SW on and off for the past few years. The biggest difference I've noticed is the portion control - this week I've realised how big my portions were on SW! It's scary sometimes to think how many points worth of stuff is in SW 'free' food! Anyway, I'm really...

For those who have swapped SW for WW

I've just made risotto for tea that I've made for years. I weighed and pointed all the ingredients so that it was 10pp per serving. While I was making it I realised that when I used to make it on SW, the portions were about double the size than this, so god knows how many points my SW meals...

For those who have swapped SW for WW

I've just gone back to WW after doing SW for the past few years. The first thing I've noticed is portion size - on SW I would have huge portions just because I could! funny, funny misused words.

This is not so much a mis-spelling but a mis-interpretation. My bf and I were in halfords getting a new headlight bulb for the car. My bf pointed out that the instructions said 'always fit in pairs' and I said well that's ok cos there'll be two of us doing it! Never quite lived that one down...:o

    Struggling Slimmer

Hi Everyone Thought I would start a diary as it might help me keep on track! I joined SW again in January for the 3rd time. Joined last January too and managed to lose just over a stone but by the end of the year my total weight loss was 6lb lol! So went back after xmas and it was cheaper for...

What is wrong with me, doing so well & now I've hit a brick wall...

I'm exactly the same - lost 7.5lb in January then this past week I've just been eating rubbish and don't even know why! My meals are all healthy cos I plan my week of meals ahead, but it's the snacking on rubbish in between that has let ne down. We know how to do it and just need to get back in...

I can only get them at Morrison's. I usually shop at Asda so get the Asda low fat which are 1 syn each but not as nice as WW in my opinion!

Thanks I'll try adding more liquid next time and reheating in saucepan rather than microwave.

    Re-heating leftovers

I've got myself into a good habit of making a big batch of food on a Monday and freezing 2 portions to eat later in the week on days that I get home late. However when I reheat it (e.g. last week it was spag bol) it's loads dryer than when I first made it and doesn't taste as nice :-( Anyone...

    Fromage Frais

You could mix the leftover fromage frais with some White chocolate options (small 1 drink sized sachets) and some sweetner for a lovely creamy dessert for only 2 syns. I sometimes have this on it's own or with fruit or meringue. Yummy!

First new recipe of the new year...

Well along with most people on here I am having a new start with the new year. Need to kick start my weightloss again after a very long plateau which lasted most of last year! I spent some time reading through the forums yesterday and selected some new recipes to make this week. The first of...

    Late night munchies - help!!

If I'm 'hungry' on a night but know I'm not really hungry I sometimes brush my teeth early! Then I don't want to eat anything cos it will taste funny!

    can't get motivated

One thing I try to remember when I'm tempted to eat junk is that junk food will always be there, so why waste a good day by eating it? That food will be there tomorrow, and the next day and so on and at some point you will eat it again but you don't HAVE to eat it right now. Hope that makes...

    Moments of realisation!

On Saturday afternoon, after having a rubbish start to the week, I said to my boyfriend I'm not going to WI on Tuesday cos I know I'll have put on. But then on Sunday I had a 'click' day and went to the gym and stayed within my syns. Since then I've been fine and I AM going to my weigh in...

How do you like your Weetabix?

This morning I had them crumbled up with a banana and custard muller light and some chopped banana - OMG it was delicious! And really filling! I will definatley be eating it like that more often - thanks so much for the ideas!!

1 stone loss treat! Was it a bad idea?

I think we all deserve a treat every now and again, and you could have been a lot worse than that! As long as you get right back on it the next day, I don't think it will make too much difference. Well done at stopping at one glass of Rose, and not ordering a huge dessert to finish it off!!

What to serve with stuffed peppers?

How about some other roasted veg - put chopped onion, courgette, mushrooms whatever you fancy really, in a big roasting tin and cover with fry light and whatever spices you want. Roast for around 20 - 30 mins. Or you could have cous cous which is dead easy, only takes 5 mins. Or a bachelors...

How do you like your Weetabix?

Mornings are my worst time of day - I'm always absolutely starving by lunchtime! When I'm at work through the week I usually have a banana mid morning but am still always starving by 12:00! Afternoons are fine, I can easily last until I have my evening meal at around 7pm, with a few snacks...

How do you like your Weetabix?

I've decided to go back to having Weetabix for breakfast, as I just can't control my portion sizes!! I always intend on having 28g of cereal but I get too greedy and end up having about 3 times as much and just ignore that fact! :o So I need some ideas about how to eat Weetabix. I normally...

    Diet staples

Batchelors pasta n sauce for quick lunches and when I can't be bothered! Chick pea dahl, cottage cheese, ham, eggs, solero ice creams, bananas, spices, lean mince, lean bacon, diet fizzy drinks, LOTS of fresh fruit and veg!

    Summer lunch ideas

Hi everyone, I normally follow the extra easy plan and usually have batchelors pasta n sauce or chick pea dahl or something for lunch which I can just pop in the microwave. However, as the days are getting a bit warmer, I need some ideas for some not so 'winter warmer' type lunches! I don't tend...

The 'what i resisted today' Thread.

This morning I resisted the urge to spend an extra half hour in bed - instead, I got up and went swimming before work. It's something I do a couple of times a week but really didn't want to get up today - but I did!

    struggling at lunchtimes

I also struggle with during the day at work as there's always biscuits and cake around to tempt me! I usually take enough food to last me the day. I'll have a banana or alpen light bar mid morning then for lunch I usually have something like: - Salad with ham, boiled egg and cottage cheese...

    Over 6 stones to lose...

I also have about 6 stones to lose to get to an 'ideal' weight for my height! But I find it easier by thinking of it in 1 stone at a time i.e. only 4.5lb to go until I've lost 1 stone, rather than I've got 5 to go!

Eat a naughty meal or dont eat at all? Opinions please!

Have you looked at the new nutritional values McDonalds put on all their food now? The last time I had a McDonalds (as a treat after weigh in) I saw how many calories and how much fat was in what I'd just eaten and it made me feel so sick. I've been put off it for good! In that situation I think...

    Grrrr!!

I've been chasing my stone award for a few weeks now! Think I've passed the 'honneymoon' period where the weight comes off really easily - I've now got to knuckle down and work hard! I'm confident that I will get there soon though as I am enjoying this more than I have ever enjoyed a diet before!
