Hi WT I work in an FE college - was a course leader but was promoted a couple of years ago and am now responsible for for quite a few courses. The point is is that the course leader is definitely NOT the person in charge - there are at least 3 or 4 people above her. If you want to do this...

    Skin reaction to the sunshine!

Getting your skin used to the sun can really help (my consultant offered me the chance to use NHS sunbeds but I decided that I'd take the discomfort rather than risk more wrinkles because I am very vain about my skin!) so gentle exposure with lots of high factor suntan lotion is the way to go...

    Skin reaction to the sunshine!

It might be polymorphic light erruption (wow, what a scary name!). Basically, it's a reaction to the sun. Felt so numb, and pissed off

I think Laura hit the nail on the head - you WILL be able to shop for clothes on the High Street soon because you are making the right choices, food wise. The thing that should really stand out for you about that day is that you were fed up and frustrated and you still made good food choices -...

    Cauliflower Rice

I love cauliflower rice - it's not the same as normal rice but I prefer it. I make mine using frozen cauliflower because it's often cheaper. I just cook the cauli and then chop it up finely, then serve like normal rice.

BMI - Even at my target still shows overweight!

Totally agree with the posters above - BMI is just a rough guideline and doesn't take into account body type or whether someone is very muscled. I think you have selected a realistic target and will feel fabulous when you get there! Don't worry about the numbers - just be guided by how you feel...

    Special K Fibre Plus bars

I lurve the Fibre Plus bars because they taste so chocolately and decadent but about 20 mins after eating one I feel so full - it's like I have a brick sitting in my stomach! There's no way I could eat two (and I'm a woman with a big appetite :8855:) so the fact that there's only one in each HEB...

Can you cope without a car

Yes, you can manage without a car (but having one is lovely!). I've been without a car for over two years and although I miss it I have definitely coped. Most of my food shopping is done online, which is a godsend for heavy/ bulky items and I walk or use the bus. Having said that, a friend has...

does anyone no if salad cheese can be counted as a healthy extra

Sainsburys Be Good to Yourself Greek salad cheese is 2.5 syns for 28gms. Because it has that strong feta cheese taste I find that 56gms is enough to make a really tasty greek salad.

    Anyone putting off their life?

Most of my friends and colleagues are slim (a lot of my colleagues teach beauty therapy so put a lot of effort into looking both slim and gorgeous) and I used to feel the way you do all the time when I was at work. I was always feeling inadequate and frumpy. I would also spend time dreaming...

    Anyone putting off their life?

Debbie - your weight loss is amazing and you look fantastic! I am currently a size 26 and have secretly been thinking that I could never get down to a 16/18 but your pictures have made me realise that it is possible. Thank you so much - I was feeling a bit low about my slow weight loss but...

    When did people notice

I've lost nearly two stone but can't see the difference in the mirror or my clothes yet and nobody has noticed (my DD, bless her, often tells me I've lost weight but she knows I'm trying hard and wants to keep me motivated). At first I was a bit fed up but then realised that at my size no-one...

    Constipation...help.... sorry to ask!!

Ooh! It's no fun being 'bunged up'! Just a couple of points - are you drinking enough fluid as this can play a major part in keeping things moving, so to speak. And are you also eating your 5 a day as well? I found that when I started SW I had the opposite problem as my body wasn't used to all...

Am I the only one planning doesn't work for?

Planning is an individual thing - I do plan because I have such a busy time at work it makes things so much easier - but I don't always stick to it. The way I see it planning is a tool that helps me most of the time but just because I decide not to follow it all the time the world won't come to...

Free/Low syn 'eat at your desk' brekkie and lunch ideas?

I know, but I just can't get my head around the fact that if I measure out 70gms of frozen berries and wait for them to defrost and eat with them with a spoon they are free, but just by wizzing them up in a blender they suddenly become synned. So what I do is to make sure I weigh out the...

Free/Low syn 'eat at your desk' brekkie and lunch ideas?

I quite often eat breakfast and luch at my desk (I teach in an FE college - although we have lunch breaks these are often spent marking/ planning lessons/ sorting out problems etc). For breakfast I either have a shape yogurt, fruit and an Alpen Light bar, a smoothie made with frozen berries...

Ladies As a recovering bulimic your stories feel so familiar it's as if I could have written them myselves. I have been bulimic/ overeating for more than twenty years (which is why I too weighed more than 23 stone at the beginning of the year). Last year I had a major headshift following a...

I decided on a little notebook but having a phone app...
