    Rejoining group

Rejoined today and was pleased to discover that by paying £14.95 I was able to keep my history (or it would have been £9.95 for a totally blank restart) so have done that, and having followed the plan at home for a few weeks (plus two hen dos and two weddings) I am 4lb down! Good luck to any...

how much per week did you lose on 810 ?

I lost 10lbs on my first week (though didn't reduce carbs in the weeks before or anything) and I've been drinking 3L water every day. Got my next weigh in tomorrow (which will actually be 1 week, 6 days). I'll let you know!

    Enough syns for my weight?

I started at 15 stone, 5' 5" and I've been having 15 syns a day/ 105 a week and been losing steadily. I often use them on olive oil etc rather than just chocolate, oh and on wine! I think having this many will give me the ability to reduce then if I start to struggle when I weigh less. Good luck!

    Christmas- some advice for SWers

This is great, thanks CP. I have really been struggling with how to manage the 4 meals out this week and it makes so much more sense to think of them as flexi synned rather than off-plan. I know I won't lose anything this week but at least I'll be on plan the rest of the time. Love the traffic...

What to eat at a Greek restaurant

Lunch in the City - EC1

They have the nutritional info on the packets in the shop and online I think though there is a bit of gestimation needed. Is it important to eat syns?

Well obviously you can have things like a glass of wine or some chocolate, but if you don't want that kind of thing you could also use your syns for olive oil to cook with, or to have no low fat versions of yoghurts, or sausages etc. Or the odd takeaway/ready meal. Enjoy them!

    Thai food! Please help!!

Hmm, well I looked on the Eating Out guide on the SW website and it doesn't even list the syns of the red and green curries - just says they are really high! I think you're better off looking for a dish that is more of a stir fry than one made with coconut milk. You might need to quiz the...

    Chinese Buffet

I think you should plan ahead what you think you'll want to eat. I feel I have more control than with flexible syns as I think I would just go wild! Syns - Daily or Weekly?

I think officially SW don't condone the weekly approach but plenty do it, myself included, with success. help and only on day 2 :-(

Hiya, I think you should do as suggested and deduct it from your weekly allowance (105 syns) and then it's manageable. The Wispas are 10.5 each, and I think a tin of full fat coconut milk is 39 syns but that would need to be divided by however many people ate the meal so even if it was only...

    Can I do this???

I use my syns weekly, rather than daily so some days I'll have 30 and others only 5. I always have a curry in the week, though I have started to have boiled rice with it rather than pilau so that I am better prepared for 'good habits' when I have lost the weight - an to be honest, I haven't...

    SW Weigh & Go Classes

Hiya, I go to a 'pop in group' I think it's called, in London, where I just weigh and go. It's £4.95 a week, which I think is the same price, but I don't mind as it suits me to dash in and out on my lunch break. (You can find it if you search for EC1R 5EG on the SW website.) There's still a...

How does target work? (And a general 'Hello!' post from a newbie.)

Hiya, welcome to SW and Minimins! I could be wrong, but I think that to qualify for free membership at target, you would need to be a member before hand and reach target while a member. So as long as you joined a group with more than 7lbs to lose, then you would qualify for free membership once...

    5'5 People..Whats your target?

It's a tricky one - I was around 12st when I got married and I looked really skinny so think I'll aim for 12st, and maybe get to 11st but can't see that I'll ever get into even mid range of the BMI.

    BMI targets

Hiya, I think the BMI is a tricky one - it's a useful guideline for healthiness of course but it isn't an absolute for me. At my very thinnest, circa 10.5 stone, I was still at the top of my BMI but looked underweight! So I think you should use it as a guide and see how you feel in your body...

    At a loss

I think everyone feels like this - I certainly do. But if you do it right, and count your Syns then there's no reason why it wouldn't work. how does it work??

As everyone has said, it's worth going to a group to have it explained properly to you. On SW you could still have free food even if you've had all your Syns...

to group or not to group!

I think it's worth going even if it's just to weigh in - I go to a pop in group, so just weighing in, no meeting, and even that keeps me on my toes, as I know it's coming up each week. I think I'd really cheat without it hanging over me (in a good way!). Xx

    Good news/bad news

I would say try without if you can - I dropped our glass scales (6am, glass all over the bathroom, not good!) and haven't replaced them, and I kind of feel more liberated without them, and excited when I go to weigh in. I think not having them there means I don't really cheat because I can't...

Hiya, I've been doing 790 for 5 weeks and have lost 18 pounds. I never did SS (just couldn't face it!) and to be honest doing 790 has been a lifesaver as I would have cheated doing SS.
