    Milk Week

Just had milk in an instant coffee, was nice although a bit sweet. Will probably just mix the milk up with a milkshake later, or drink it on it's own. I like milk :) Yep that was from my brothers weddings. I decided that I would eat, and promptly came out of ketosis! 22lbs to go. I don't have...

    Milk Week

I successfully made it to milk week losing 5st 8lbs in those first 12 weeks. So I thought I would have my good old favourite of a cuppa. I had switched to redbush during those last 12 weeks, but before I would go thru 5 cups of english/breakfast tea a day. But my taste buds have changed so...

It's interesting what this program does to your head

I think that LLT makes you think about exactly what you used to eat. You are asked in the awareness module to uncover some home truths. You can of course be as open or as closed as you want to be. But I looked at exactly what I ate on a usual day whilst at work. It made me realise exactly how I...

It's interesting what this program does to your head

But in a good way. I am currently in my 11th week doing LLT and I have had no problems with it. I have been around other people eating food, on Monday I was in MacDonalds with the family having a bottle of water and a peanut bar whilst they scoffed on whatever delights they wanted. Whilst...

Just completed 3 miles for Sport Relief :) I couldn't have done that 10 weeks ago!!
  12. Mr Gilbo

What can you achieve in 10 short weeks

Just stick to the plan and walk. That's all I did. You may find it comes off slower for you as you have less to lose. But it will come off on this plan if you stick to it!
  13. Mr Gilbo

What can you achieve in 10 short weeks

You can lose; 70lbs 10 BMI points and shed load of inches :) I feel so much better for it, and can't wait to lose the next 70. Third of the way there!

    Still feeling so cold

It's a normal thing for being on LL. It's because your body is running on a bare minimum and it considers heating the hands, feet, ears and nose as not necessary.

    moonwalk

I did something similar in Southend last year. But it's only a half marathon distance. I have signed up to do it again. But I did check with my counsellor first. She said it should be ok to do so. But I would possibly have to have a meal which she would advise me nearer the time. So check with...

Check me out 8 weeks in

It's a quarter. But ignoring the maths I am getting there. The first week is the hardest, the second isn't a piece of cake. But after that if you can stick at it you will reap the rewards! It is worth every penny.

So I am now on Day 15 of this program, and tomorrow is weigh in day. I am actually looking forward to it. I have been 100% on the diet. A problem I seem to be facing is the packs. It's like because my head still feels that it's feeding time and although the packs are palatable they aren't amazing. Ok. So it is the first day of the plan. The plan I intend to stick to through thick and thin. Unfortunately, the porridge pack was so disgusting that I struggled to force it down. I know the counsellor warned me it was like baby food, but I had seen some feedback on here and the LighterLife...

Are there any other consultants in your area that are close by? I seem to live within the middle of 4 of them. And I will happily go and talk to another one if I find I am not happy with my current one. After all you are paying a lot of money and should be happy with the counsellor you have.

  53. Mr Gilbo

    What are you scared of?

Thank you for your kind comments. I am afraid this one won't be so deep and meaningful. I will save that up for later. Just back from the initial consultation meeting. Nothing really shocking in it, you learn so much from this forum and the LighterLife one. One small note of concern is my GP...

What are you scared of? It was a question posed to me by a friend. One that I discovered was meant to open up an inner dialogue with myself. Maybe I did need to take one long hard look at myself, and listen to what I had to say. Well I had been ignoring that voice for such a long time now...

    Really upset :(

It also takes up to 12 weeks to gain muscle density, so I doubt it's muscle that is causing the dip in your weight loss. I think what it is is either lactic acid and/or water retention. It builds up after exercise to protect your joints.

Exercising prior to weigh in - good or bad idea?

Back in my youth I used to do a paper-round for 2 hours before weigh in. If I remember rightly I used to weigh about 2lbs less. Probably because of the fluids I had used up etc, but if I drank immediately afterwards then the body was holding more fluid than normal and the loss wasn't as big.

344 days and counting.... Off to the gym shortly for my first work out down there for a week. Looking forward to it. What is/was your reason/motivation to lose weight?

I suppose my main reason this time round is because I finally realised I had had enough living in pain. Every joint hurts. It made me unhappy to exist the way I was. It certainly wasn't living a decent life. There are other more vain reasons, such as actually getting the girl. Rather than...

I tend to keep an open plan during the day and then in the evening it will swing one way of the other. For example I had a ham and egg salad for lunch. And had for breakfast 2 alpine light bars, yoghurt and fruit. Gives me the flexibility of staying red of switching to ee depending on...

Although you may not notice the difference on the scales you should notice a difference in the shape of your body. Your exercise will be toning your muscle and giving your body a better shape. Inches can be easily lost this way. After you exercise your body will retain water to help repair...

what do you do with your butternut squash?

Grate it and chop up some leeks. put in a roast dish and mix a glass of white wine, and top with 4 chicken breasts wrapped in bacon (don't forget to remove the fat) and cook for 30mins or so at 180. the only syns are in the wine, unless we actually follow the recipe and add butter and olive...

    syns allowance???

Our consultant tells us men we can have 20 syns a day. I tend to use my syns on spread, jam and ketchup. Not a crisp person, and trying to say away from the biscuits and chocolate for a couple of weeks.

Weight Loss journeys in the SW mag.....

All I'd like is a few more blokes in it. It's also a shame that we will never see a guy on the cover because it is marketed as woman's magazine. I always find the stories interesting tho. I do tend to skip by the makeup and fashion bits at the back of the mag tho! Don't think I need to know...

Hot weather, amyone else annoyed they didn't start SW sooner?

Every single year since 2002 I've been trying to lose weight. Next year will be my year!

    Is Sw not enough?

Personally I could never go through surgery. I'd like to still be able to go into a restaurant and have a meal with friends, rather than just something tiny. Granted it would mean hitting the gym and back to plan straight after. People have had the surgery and gone to put the weight back on...

    Carrying that weight?!

I did something similar to this back when I had lost 7st last time. I was house sharing with a bunch of students. They all had fitness weights so we loaded the bar up to be the equilavent of what I had lost. OMG I could barely lift it!

    Can I go it alone?

Maybe if you are slightly apprehensive about going it alone you could make the weighin a ritual. In that it is on the same time on the same day. Perhaps you could use the scales at your local Boots to get the print outs to keep. Maybe something different to work towards rather than just jumping...

    Wednesday Weighers

My first weigh in after about 2/3 weeks off and I pull out a 4lbs lose. :D So 9lb down for the year. Time to kick it on now and do this properly.

What is more important for image therapy...

I am going to rejoin my local slimming world tomorrow. I like the consultant, she is a lovely lady and feel that she is supportive and always has time for you. However, I find the group as a whole alittle too wishy washy. In that being the only bloke in amongst 30 middle aged (or older) women...

Rant and then sooo embarassed ;)

So the temp consultant saved your stone award to give to you at the same time as the slimmer of the week? Never known of it being that way round before! Congrats tho on achieving both!

    Hello!

Thanks for those kind words. Looking forward to re-joining slimming world. It's going to be hard as I have recently discovered I can't eat onions and tomatoes or yeast. I used to have onions and toms in pretty much every meal in the past!

    Hello!

I always find the introductions the hardest to do. Maybe not as hard as the realisation that you need to take control of your own life and do something about your weight loss however! Suppose you could say I have always been dieting most of my adult life. I have had the success (7st 2lbs back...
