    Greetings from the nightshift.....

Hi all.... I'm on day 4 SS, managed 100% with no real problems so far. On nights at work at the minute....which is normally where the temptation is but I've told my colleagues to keep the food away! I've been doing laps of the car park everytime I get chance....just to get some exercise in! I...

    Running advice

Awesome! :) Nice one mate. I've only been running for 5 months myself, but I really enjoy it and completed my first 10k race on Sunday. When I first started I couldn't even tie my laces up without getting out of breath! I took it really slow and built it up, which has worked for me :)

    Running advice

It's quite normal to start with. What I would say though is treadmills are not great for your legs because of the impact they have. If you get the chance to go outside road and grass running are a bit easier on the legs and shouldn't give you as much of an uncomfortable feeling Try doing just...

    Too hot!

Karrimor is just the make of clothing. Do pretty cheap shorts/vests/tshirts/leggings for exercise. The material is wicked so it takes the moisture away from your body.... I look like i'm sponsored by them!! :)

    Too hot!

I'm sooo not loving the heat!! I find it best to carry lots of water...try and wear clothing that 'wicks' the sweat away from you .... (sports direct do some fairly cheap Karrimor stuff) I sweat like hell in normal t shirts....

    running. how do i start?

Interval is definitely the best way to start. One minute Run then One minute walk you can then build this up to 2 mins...3 mins etc. This trains your body to recover it's self. Another way I use to improve is to use markers and set yourself small goals...if you get to the phonebox on your first...

    First 10k run...Done!!

Thank you!! :) I run about 3 - 4 times per week, worked up from running one mile and adding distance on each time. It's amazing how much you have to think about when you do run...breathing...pace...how your foot lands etc.. It's so worth it at the end though! Regarding weather...I've run in...
