Fat-Boy-Slimmin - through the hard times and the good

Sorry that there have been no updates recently, but I have been really busy. I decided to take some extra days before starting Exante. The main reason is because I still had a lot of work left to do to finish off what I was doing on the pond. I have now done most of it, but still have some...

Fat-Boy-Slimmin - through the hard times and the good

Fat-Boy-Slimmin - through the hard times and the good

It's just one of the side effects of any VLCD, but it seems to affect me more than most which then causes other problems for me. :( I should be fine in a few days and I think doing add a meal week every 4 weeks might be the answer. It means taking slightly longer to achieve my target, but I...

    hello pps

Of course seeing your GP is wise, but please don't worry yourself about it. It's most likely because your stomach has shrunk so much whilst you have been on the diet and lost so much weight. I think it's fairly normal to take a bit of time to build up to eating more. Just try and include some...

    hello pps

Turn that frown upside down. :) I think it's great that you have lost 2lbs in a way. It's far better than going in the opposite direction. You have done really well in controlling what you eat, so be happy, you can now have a little more. :D

    weight in tonight, advice!

If your weigh-in is in the evening you should really treat it like a normal day. Cramming 3 meals and your day's water intake into a couple of hours later tonight isn't really a wise thing to try and do.

    Feel Fat again

With the fast weight losses on a VLCD it is expensive to keep buying smaller clothes when you need to. I'm sticking to a minimal amount of clothes and also trying to skip a size. It means things are baggy for a a short time, but it saves money. As far as feeling fat is concerned, just think...

With eating and restarts, your body needs time to adjust to what is going on. You should really stop relying on the scales, as it isn't doing you any good. It's a difficult one, but I personally think the best thing you could do is be honest with her. If you let it go on it sounds like it will end up effecting your focus and motivation. You've done great so far and you need people to help and support you and vice versa, not use you and hold you back.

    Following my own advice!!!!

I can't really offer any advice, but I know what it's like not having anyone to talk to, or at least not feeling like you could talk to certain people about most things. Although you had the blip, you have already learnt from it and moved on, which is the most important thing. Well done.

They recommend only having one per day, as it can possibly effect ketosis for some people by having more. But I'm sure some have 2 and don't have any problems. Oh, they also say more than one per day might have a laxitive effect, which could be a good thing for people who need it.

    new to exante.. any advice??

The major problem here is that you are making it out to be something that is fine for anyone to do, which it isn't. Using cuppa soups instead of a very carefully planned and balanced meal is very dangerous. A new starter or a guest reading your posts could end up very ill and cause serious...

Okay so a cuppa soup has pretty much the same nutrients and protein content as an Exante soup. I was wrong all along and I am a complete muppet. I take it all back. In fact, I'm going to start my own organisation and invent a VLCD that uses 3 cuppa soups per day, as each one has...

I could protect you from the demons and PM you a list of safe threads at set intervals throughout the day!! :D The majority of people do try to SS, but unfortunately there are lots of blips going on. A cuppa soup is not even remotely similar to Exante soup. But if you want to encourage people to make themselves ill, then go ahead. Anyone with any common sense can see the major differences between the two: Cup a Soup | Batchelors http://www.exantediet.com/resources_PDFs/ingredients.pdf

    Cambridge diet cost

As said by others, about £40 a week on average. My CDC has put the Tetras up to £2 recently, as apparently there were price increases by Cambridge. So 3 Tetra's a day would be £42 per week for me. Some charge more, some charge less.

They don't get any thicker with more blending. But as determinator says, adding ice cubes can make them more like a McD's milkshake, you just have to get the amount of water and ice cubes right. Tess' Cambridge Diet Journey to a healthy me

It's great that you are now determined to remain 100%. Unfortunately VLCD's are the most punishing for not sticking to the plan, so staying on track really is important. You've still done well though despite the setbacks. Things will be much easier for you from now on though, I'm sure. :)

    Cookie's CD Diary

You have done extremely well resisting all of the tempations. It is especially amazing that you have stuck to the diet whilst on holiday. I don't think I could have done that myself. So you should be very proud of yourself for where you are now. You mentioning sniffing food reminds me of a...

    Natasha's diary

We are all different, but a little bit of food does tend to make us want more, that's what led us to be overweight in the first place. I think it's wise to go back to SS. I'm sure you will do much better this time, now that you know SS+ will lead you into temptation. Good luck. :)

want to be a skinny mini

It's great that you are taking action now, rather than letting things slip. I'm sure you will do well. :)

New Life, New Journey, New ME- New Goal !

I'm glad you are finding it easy. It proves you are mentally ready and well motivated, which isn't always easy to do. To be honest, I found it easy from day 1 this time around. Last time was just a headache on day 3, but otherwise was the same. Seems like the perfect diet for me as well. :)

Fat-Boy-Slimmin - through the hard times and the good

I don't think my effort to help others is doing much good. I feel like I'm being far too serious all the time. I also feel like I am possibly sticking my nose in where it may not be wanted. There's a couple of other things, but it's probably best not to mention them. It's a bit frustrating and...

    Understanding Why?

I lost just over 3 stone last year, but then had a health issue which meant I had to stop Cambridge. I did okay for a short time, but then I let everything return to my old habits and put most of the weight back on. Even after my health getting back to a relatively stable point, I still didn’t...

Fat-Boy-Slimmin - through the hard times and the good

I thought it was about time for an update. Everything is still going fine. I'm approaching the 15 stone mark, so that'll be a good mini goal to put behind me. This weekend will be a bit of a change for me. I usually enjoy a carton of orange juice and some wine gums while watching F1 Practice...

You are doing really well under the circumstances. It can't be easy trying to fit this diet in to such a short space of time, especially the water. I hope you feel better soon.

Eating CD bars and weight loss - your experiences?

People do have weeks like this where they may not lose as many pounds, but the measurements show a difference. Relying on your scales to tell you how well you are doing isn't really a good idea. :(

Or even worse, having something to drink that you shouldn't. :)

    Well i've got my supplies!!

Why do you think that? It's only day 3. If you think that way, then you are set up to fail on Cambridge. :(

Does anyone know how many eggs you can eat in a week?

For a while it was said that eggs should be limited because of the high cholestorol content. But after more recent research it seems that the cholestorol content in food doesn't have much of an effect on our blood cholestorol. The biggest thing to raise cholestorol is saturated fats. I bet...

struggling & thinking of going from ss to ss+ after 2 days

I seriously think you should give it a few more days at least. Try and get through a week on SS. Once you go in to ketosis, things should get much easier. If you really struggle on a particular day, have an extra Cambridge meal. It's only a very small amount of food on SS+ and it may make you...

Eating CD bars and weight loss - your experiences?

It does state on the packaging to drink an extra amount of water when you have one. I'm out of bars at the moment, so I can't confirm how much exactly. But if you are having 2 litres of water a day and a bar, then you are about half a litre short of the minimum recommended water intake. I've...

    struggling to drink enough water

I have 2 (sometimes 3) litres of sparkling water per day with the water flavouring added and then 1-2 litres of still, thanks to my Brita filter. I've also had the water flavourings since day 1.

    incredibly pi**ed off !!

It's only your 2nd week. Yes, all scales should be used on a hard flat surface, but on top of that, any number of things could have also possibly affected your loss. If you had a Cambridge meal and/or water after weighing at home, or had more or different clothes on when you went out, there...

I'm good thanks. One more post and you can join the 100% SS Club. :D It's good to hear that you are doing well, despite a few temptations. I think it's wise skipping the invite. Hopefully they will understand that it's best for you, for now.

    My Cambridge diet diary

Very well done. Mmmmmm cake. Ahem, where was I? Oh yes, cake. No, weakness!! It's normal really. Our bodies are basically being fed the most minimal energy possible and the brain takes most of it. I was in HMV bending down looking at movies on the lower shelves, when I stood up I came over...

    Upset & Crying...

I believe that officially you have to move up the plans when you reach a BMI of 25, but unofficially may be a different story. ;) Unless things have changed, the older booklet states 1 week minimum for 810 and then 2 weeks for the steps above it. I would say that more time spent on moving up...

    2nd time around

This is my 2nd time on Cambridge and this is now my 4th week of SS and I have been 100% from the start. I did SS for 7 weeks last year, also stuck to it 100%. I do find the diet easy once I start. Unfortunately I had a health problem the first time around that meant I had to come of the...

    MAJOR MAJOR BLUNDER..WTF..??

As said above (with the graphic content :)) it's done and you know you didn't even enjoy it. Let the memory of that be your motivation for not doing it again in future. Don't be hard on yourself, life's too short (says Mr way too hard on himself), put it behind you and move on.

    Needing positive vibes for CD

As said above, Cambridge could be exactly what you are looking for. I had tried many diets before and failed at all of them. But I know Cambridge works for me. Start believing in yourself, because it is possible. All you have to do is take control of your eating and stick to Cambridge...

4 shakes instead of 3. Will this affect ketosis ?

Yes, you will lose weight with a calorie deficit, regardless of being in ketosis or not. But the fat burning is more effective when you are in it. We can all follow Sole Source and all be at a different level of ketosis though, which is why we don't all lose the same amount of weight each week...
