Foods that are low in calories

I can also recommend Ryvita Thins (30cals each) and Tesco Tzatziki dip (120 cals for half a pot). Just had it for lunch (with some crudites) and it's every bit as satisfying as Pringles and sour cream dip!

Foods that are low in calories

Just found a delicious lunch in M&S - Teriyaki Beef Salad Bites in Mooli ribbons. It was with the sandwiches and looks like a pack of sushi but it's just beef and vegetables and comes with a soy dipping sauce. The whole pack is 185 calories and it's absolutely scrummy. I think it was about £3.50...

    Alcohol and SW

Did you have to go to a Tesco Extra to find it? Neither of my local Tesco stock it (and they're quite big...) I am on a mission!

    Alcohol and SW

Another lush here I'm afraid. Can't resist the wine, or the cider, gin or beer ;) I wondered if anyone had been able to find this stuff: www.equatorbeer.com It's syn-free.... I thought it might take the edge off those nights when you just want to reach for a cold beer.... I might go to the big...

    Zizzis

I found the nutritional values for Zizzi's online: http://www.zizzi.co.uk/assets/pdf/zizzi-menu-calories-2012.pdf Can anyone work out the syn values for a couple of dishes? Perhaps the funghi risotto and the raviolo di Capra? Thanks x

    WEEKEND BINGER

I really struggle with weekends too.... I tend to plan really well during the week and then grab bad stuff while I'm whizzing around doing jobs at the weekend. My new plan to combat this is to switch to the Original plan on Sat/Sun. That way, I can have 2 HExBs and be able to have a quick...

    portion size of sorbet/ice cream

Sorry to bump this but I just wanted to comment on how interesting those nutritional values are. I'm going to Zizzi's tonight and, just looking at the menu, I would have totally chosen the wrong thing. In fact, the one thing I'd really like (and would have avoided like the plague due to the...

Been off the rails a bit over the Bank Hol...

Me too! Wine and chocolate :( I always find Easter really hard.... I dread to think how much chocolate I have eaten today. Hopefully, things will be easier from tomorrow when my son is back at school and I am back at work. Find it much easier to be disciplined then. Hubby is going to take our...

    Freezing Your Meals.

Once you have frozen the chips/wedges on the tray you can put them in a freezer bag so they take up less room in your freezer. Just as convenient as having regular oven chips in your freezer...

    Fresh Beetroot

Sorry to be a beetroot dunce but how do you cut it? Slice it into rounds/wedges/sticks? I really like pickled beetroot and often have it in salads but I love the idea of roasting it with carrots and red onions... Thanks!

    Monday weigh in

Some lovely losses this week - well done everyone. I lost 1lb which is probably fair because I've noticed a few naughty things sneaky in recently. Need to kick myself up the backside! I also do the 'charm' thing. I have a charm necklace and treated myself to a charm when I got my stone award...

    Mothers Day menu suggestions?

I'm going to take my mum a SW buffet (we're doing SW together). I think I'll take a couple of quiches, some cold meats, potato wedges, Joes sausages on sticks and lots of salad stuff. Followed by trifle! Will keep a keen eye on this thread for any other suggestions! x

    Monday weigh in

Good work everyone! I lost 1lb this week which I'm pleased with but I need to step things up a bit now. Got a couple of heavy weekends coming up (lots of eating and drinking!) so I'm going to be extra disciplined in the meantime. I'm going to try for 3lb this week - that will mean my Club 10...

    Snack ideas?

If you need a chocolate fix, M&S do tubs of mini chocolate meringues that are 15 cals each so, I think, 1 syn. I bought some yesterday and find I can have 1 or 2 and not feel the need to munch through the whole lot (which is exactly what I would do with fun-size choc bars!). x

    1/3rd Superfree with Curry?

Hi everyone I'm not very adventurous or experienced with curries and such - I've tried a few out but shepherd's pie etc is more in my comfort zone! Anyway, at our last tasting evening, one of our ladies brought the Ainsley Harriott lentil dahl that she'd added chicken to. It was so yummy...

Beefeater - Sunday Roast vs Menu

Thanks Pebbles. That's a great help. I wasn't sure if it was a carvery or if you 'got what you were given'! If I can choose what bits I have then that makes it much easier. As long as my willpower is strong enough! Thanks again.

want to binge after a compliment

Hi Amy Aren't forums wonderful things? I thought I was the only person in the world that did this! I've lost weight with Slimming World once before and can pinpoint the exact time I started putting the lot back on again. It was when a big group of us went out to dinner and a couple of the guys...

Beefeater - Sunday Roast vs Menu

Hi everyone I'm going out to a Beefeater for Sunday lunch this week so am trying to plan wise choices.... I've searched the forums and the menu and think, if I were to choose from the 'a la carte' menu, I would have the paprika chicken skewers followed by either the grilled salmon or sea...

Help with breakfast and lunch ideas

Hi Ali I've been enjoying a toasted banana sandwich in the morning with cinnamon (I read somewhere that it is good for weight loss!). Yesterday I made the syn free lemon curd from the recipe section and that was really nice this morning on toast too. For lunches I make a SW quiche on a Monday...

    I want to cry.

Hey QB. I remember your posts from the end of last year when I was trying to get back on the SW wagon. I found them so motivating and inspiring. And now I'm going to group and doing really well (apart from this week's gin blip!). So your positivity helped me. I'm sure you have enough left to...

1.5lb gain for me this week :( I am a bit gutted because (rather foolishly) I'd wanted to do this without gaining at all and I feel like I've spoilt my progress now.... I'm surprised it was such a big gain. A group of us had dinner at a friend's on Saturday that I knew was going to be a heavy...

Well done everyone! I lost 3 lbs this week and I am chuffed to bits! I thought that I had perhaps lost 2lb... Of course, now I'm worried that the scales were being kind to me and I'm going to have to be extra good this week to keep the extra lb off! I'm never happy! Have a great week everyone xx

Hi all! I'm a Monday weigher too! This is my 3rd time doing SW and I am determined this will be the time to stick to it for good. I lost 1lb this week which I'm pleased with as I've had a rotten cold and the start of a particularly painful * week. I never really have big losses so have to be...

    Feeling poorly but proud

Thanks CP. I have to say that feeling so rotten has nearly been my downfall as well as my saviour. I was going to make some leek & potato soup for lunch today but just didn't feel up to it so I came very close to cracking. But, by the same token, didn't feel well enough to pop to the corner...

    Feeling poorly but proud

Hey everyone I'm off work with the cold from hell at the moment and want nothing more than to eat rubbish comfort food. Luckily, we don't really have much junk in the house so I am feeling very virtuous that I have pretty much stuck to plan even though I don't really deserve to...

    Ready Meals

Hi everyone Just wondered if anyone had any ideas for good ready meals for a quick, low-syn lunch...? What's prompted me is, in the new magazine, in the 'what's new on red' section, they had an M&S Fuller Longer salmon meal that was only 1 syn. So I thought I'd pop in before work and get one...

what have you made and can recommend from this months mag?

I made the Chicken and Leek pot pies (from the roast chicken/leftovers page) and they were delish! 14 Weeks Till Christmas - Tree Motivation!!

Do you know what? I'm going to bloody do this! I've been mucking around with 1lb on/1lb off for weeks and not properly committing to losing the weight.
